I had an extremely unpleasant experience at this Royal Bank of Canada branch. I went in to fix issues with my account related to a fraudulent cheque, and despite having spent hours on the phone and in-person trying to resolve the issue, I was met with rude and unprofessional behavior from one of the employees. When I presented my Driver's License and University ID as my TWO forms of identification, a blonde lady immediately yelled at me and told me that it was not acceptable. Despite the fact that another employee had accepted my University ID just two days prior, this woman continued to berate me and make me feel terrible, claiming as though I was purposely trying to cause trouble. She refused to help me and made it clear that she had no interest in resolving my issue. Her behavior was completely unacceptable, and I was left feeling frustrated and sickened by the way I was treated. Even if they don't accept a University ID (which they did the first time), she didn't have to be so mannerless, rude, and berate me for it the very first time; while also claiming I was purposely and knowingly trying to cause trouble, even though I had no clue about it. The employee did not display good customer service and could have handled the situation in a more professional and empathetic manner. Overall, my experience at the Royal Bank of Canada was extremely disappointing. It's unfortunate that such unprofessional behavior is tolerated by the bank, and I would caution anyone considering banking with them to think twice before doing so.
I have been banking with RBC 10+ with mediocre to good experiences, I will consider switching now based on this branch. After having wire transfer issues due to inexperience at the tellers (they forgot a digit), I proceeded to get a cheque to deposit funds from one business to another on their recommendation. After a third party bank tried contacting this branch to get the cheque verified, there was no responses for days until I finally got through myself. I was then told that the information their own branch gave me was incorrect, they could not deposit immediately, and there was nothing they could do repeatedly. One phone call is all they had to do, as requested by the other bank and myself- funny enough the other bank is across the parking lot so they could walk or wave, smoke signals, anything. Instead they've jeopardized investments that have costed me thousands. I wiill not visit this branch or perhaps rbc again.
Went to deposit a larger bank draft into my credit card. Was grilled who it was coming from (who is this person to you?) and then told they could shut my account down if I was making business transactions through a personal credit card. I don’t mind if it has to be held given the amount was larger and the other confusion surrounding this transacation I understood as I used to be a teller as well. But I don’t appreciate being threatened to have my account shut down for making a business purchase on my credit card. I felt very unwelcome and like RBC didn’t want my business. She could have phrased the benefits of me opening a business account or educated me on the benefits etc rather than wording it the way she did. If I was doing something wrong I was unaware but the immediate use of threat and grilling versus kindness understanding and education was such an insult. Won’t be coming back to this branch.
Staff are generally friendly, but sometimes I get different instructions from different people for the same issue. Quite confusing. I have dealt with a couple of tellers and a "specialist" who told me they will update my account but 2-3 months later I will find out from a different teller that nothing was ever done to update it. I'm not sure if they have staff who are not sufficiently trained or were just very busy they forgot. On the other hand, their mortgage specialist Joyce is definitely a gem. Very accommodating, very knowledgeable and will even go out of her way to help you. Thanks Joyce! I have recommended you to my friends and colleagues at work. It was great working with you.
What a joke this place is, I had a check my mom had sent I had forgot to deposit after Xmas and the girl behind the counter took one look at it and said no it’s expired. It’s up to the banks discretion to take a look and see if the accounts are valid and complete the transaction, but nope she couldn’t be bothered, geez it says right on the check Merry Christmas pretty sure my mom would still want me to have the small amount of $ it was for even though I went to deposit it later than usual. I can be bothered though to write this terrible review for your absolutely lazy staff.
I am shocked at all of the poor reviews. Today was my first time at this RBC branch and I loved it. The tellers all have their separate little booth, which I think is genius, you get so much more personal with the teller. There are chairs and tables if you want to sit, and I usually come to RBC to certify cheques, and being able to sit for the process is a nice treat. While I was sitting, I was approached on more than one occasion by staff to see if I had been helped. I usually go to the Mayfield's location, but i will be coming here from now on.
Horrible experience. After 2 years of depositing work cheques with no problem with the spruce Grove branch I've now had nothing but issues with this branch. I will definitely be going out of my way to deal another west end branch. I would name the completely unprofessional manager I've had the misfortune of having to deal on several occasions but she doesn't seem to know how to put on a name tag and refuses to give it out so all I'll say is someone higher up needs to give the short anger bitter Indian woman an attitude check.
Irene was absoloutely incredible, I had a host of questions about various things and she took her time explaining everything in detail and making sure I understood. She was patient, made suggestions for my account and gave me all the options to choose from. The lady beside her, a younger blonde woman whom I didn't deal with but did see dealing with other customers ahead of me in line also seemed very patient and friendly! Will happily return to this branch :) . Thank you Irene :)
Worst RBC BRANCH EVER!!!!Poor customer service, tellers are really rude, don't know how to treat their clients well. Specially that tall, blonde, short hair teller. Couldn't believe she yelled at me and told me that they cancelled our debit business card because we're doing FRAUD. The way she talked to me is unacceptable. It's so disappointing and will not definitely go back on this branch anymore. Manager should train your tellers on how to deliver good customer service.
I give 1 star seeing the bigger woman that wears a dress alot ... works behind the ones serving people have been rude to multiple people ... there is no need for it ... be more understanding with people ... she even made a guy leave a few weeks ago with his expensive bike ... he said he will put it here or there but she continues to be rude and wanted him to put it somewhere that he couldn't see it ... the bike wasn't in anyone's way for anyone to trip over ...
Went to deposit a bank draft to my friend's account. Showed them my draft, client copy of the draft, receipt of the draft and my ID and was refused to put into my friend's account, because the draft wasn't 'certified'. Went to another RBC branch immediately and everything went well. The other branch deposited my draft without a question. This branch really should train their staff well. It seems the teller there doesn't even know what she's doing.
I recently got approved for my RBC platinum credit card. My overall experience was amazing. My consultant is John sadaf who is very thorough with an information and very transparent in her work. She invested good time during my appointment to enhance my knowledge and was very patient with all my enquires. I had amazing experience with RBC. I felt like good consultant can guide you much better. Thumbs up!!
Didn't realize that Karens can work as a Customer Service Representative. The Rep obviously didn't understand our problem. She told us stuff that we already know and made us feel stupid about the things that we didn't know. That's why we were there in the first place, to get some clarifications. And we were so nice to her until the end because we didn't want to make a scene. She was useless to be honest.
This bank is changing over to no tellers next year Today the teller was lovely and helpful thank you The Hebrew woman The other woman who helped me Canadian girl. The the rest was very unfriendly not even a smile or a hello when you leave the man who came to the teller same so miserable all of them expect the two I won’t be back will miss the lovely Hebrew woman.
I was impressed with the staff as soon as I entered the branch. They have someone at the door instructing people where to go to be properly socially distanced and help assist people with tasks that can be done at the ATMs. I had a great experience with Irene once I got to the front of the line - she was so friendly and helpful!
This is the second time when i come to this branch and have to wait in line just to have an appointment with an adviser. We expect as a customer a desk for customer service to speed up the service not to queue for hours. If things doesn't change well you know the score the competitors are there to make the difference.thank you.
All of the bank tellers are awful. They are so rude and don’t care about anyone. Hate going here and speaking to them. They were awful to my brother in law who did nothing. They accused him of trying to fraud the bank (hes 16!) and terminated his account without explanation or anything. Absolutely terrible experiences.
My experience with the staff at this branch has been excellent. The customer service representatives, the tellers , the managers and various in branch specialists have always been willing to bend over backwards to solve any and all of my concerns. I have been a customer for more than 2 decades.
i went on this branch last week..i was very disappointed after i talk to an advisor name Heath as a result i will pull out and close all my accounts in RBC..after being an RBC loyal customer for many. you never valued your Customer. i would given u zero if i could
Too bad there is no option for negative ratings... terrible customer service. Went to this branch to apply for a pre-approved credit card. The lady at front desk said you can pick it up in two weeks, waited for more than three weeks. When I
I wanted to open an account with my friend, but after going to the bank to talk talk and i inquire, the left handed female old service staff at the entrance was very unprofessional and had racial discrimination attitude, so i had to go to
Prefer Magrath branch even though this is my main branch. Tellers here are not the friendliest and the lineups are usually very long! I also do not like seeing elderly people or people with clear disabilities having to stand that long. I
I would like to first off say I have been a loyal customer with RBC for 15 years now, in the East Coast. This branch is absolutely terrible for customer service. The service I keep receiving is the reason I switched banks. In addition to
Really, an unprofessional bank clerk tonight went there to withdrawl and she kept being rude and arrogant due to some things that happened with my account last week that had nothing to do with my visit tonight just not a good visit at all
Just. Took out a 100 dollers and forgot to take it out of the atm and drove away. Then went back and the money was gone. :(. I called the bank later and somone actually found it in the machine and returned it to the branch. So far. In
Just want to give Irene and Marina a shout out for being an awesome associate at this branch. I couldn’t be more satisfied with their service everytime we come for a transaction. These duo here consistently provides top-tier customer
I called the bank to report my granddaughter's debit card being stolen/lost with Cell Phone. The first time I called to report it, I got thru gave them the info and on of the phones on my land line died. Thought they'd call back.
Roger Allan did my mortgage and was slow getting things done and was late on his own deadline date set. That cost me money. Roger just ignores me now. Bad communication. Rbc does not work for us...not happy at all after 20 yrs
Poor customer service, got an appointment and when I came the staff is not available for the appointment and they simply rescheduled the appointment without any apology. wasting time..they don't care about the customers time.
This branch is terrible. I waited for half an hour just to get my replacement card. There were only 2 tellers at the front and they were slow considering that there line up was long.Avoid this place.
Worst RBC branch I've ever been to, I would have given 0 stars if I could. Extremely rude service and one of the clerks was clearly being racist towards us and even mocked my husband.
The manager there is so rude and demeaning, had to ask her why she was talking down on me for her to change her demeanour, which is disappointing because I really like RBC.
Over the last couple of days, we have had amazing and patient service! Tracy and other staff were so kind and helpful!! Thank you from both my husband and myself!
Employees here are aggressive and lack proper training and support. Employees refused me service so I asked to speak to a manager and I was told he
Terrible customer service from the branch manager Tracy.. Been with this bank since 1998-2023, wouldn't recommend to anyone. Happy I switched to TD
What an absolute horrible experience. Bank manager is a horrid woman. Zero help very antagonistic. I will in touch with Athena omsbudsman .
Hire more tellers RBC Meadowlark! A 30 minute wait on a Wednesday morning is unacceptable! Why am I paying $15+ a month in service fees??
Staff in this location are amazing. One of the lady staff was so helpful she would go above and beyond to reset my debit card.
15 people in line. 2 tellers on. Worst customer service at a bank. Billion dollar profits no employees. Time to change
No parking. Has been over 2 weeks since the drive through has been closed, waiting for road repair. Very inconvenient
