We went to the movies. Something we had not done in some time due to covid and health concerns. It was not at all crowded at the 1:15 showing. The wearing of face masks is not required. There were some staff members wearing masks. The purchase of tickets was at a kiosk, or you can buy them at the concession stand. The theater was clean for the most part. There was a large amount of spilled popcorn on the escalator going up. The movie was a little late getting started. The picture and sound quality were very good. The upper concession stand was not open, and this was a bit of an inconvenience as our movie was on the second level. This probably was the reason for the popcorn on the escalator. It was unclear if the individual theaters were being cleaned and sanitized. This is an update for my visit on April 2nd. We purchased our tickets at the kiosk in the lobby. There was a sign listing the ticket prices. The actual price shown on the kiosk was higher than the price shown on the sign. It was $11 for a matinee movie, which is typically a little lower price. It was about $3 higher. It was a bit of a shock, but we still bought them. The concession prices seemed to be about the same or a little more. The escalator going down was not working, so either elevator, which is pretty slow, or use stairs. The upper level concession stand was closed, so you had to go down if you wanted any concession items. There were no covid related protocols in place, no masks on anyone, no hand sanitizer stations. This is a little concerning . This is why we go early before it gets more crowded.
No clear direction on where to check-in. A lot of folks standing trying to figure out which direction they needed to go. Long lines at the concession stand. Luckily wasn't nobody paying attention to the last line so I slipped on in. The cashier clearly didn't want to be there and I asked him so. His response was no, too many people. I had to tell him 3 times that I was done ordering. Now the theater itself....... Waaaaay too many seats that were too tiny even for My thin frame. I seriously had to turn sideways just walking down the row to My seat! No seat reclining and bunched up next to each other. The only thing I liked about it was the arm rest could raise so Mu Son could rest His head in His Mom's lap. Had a baby in the theater crying every 10 mins or so. 2 floor store. Concession on both floors but only lower concession was opened. Most of the movies were being played upstairs which meant having to travel further and miss a good piece of the movie. I won't be back. I'll stick with Embassy Santiago Entertainment. Bigger reclining seats. No long waiting on line for order. Will get a text when super nachos or bigger orders are ready. Refill on ANY SIZE POPCORN for free. Just an overall better experience. I do appreciate the 3$ movie day but regardless of the event, I will bypass Quarry movie theater. You can come if you choose if that's what you like. For Me, no way
This theater is on the older side, and you can tell. From the outdated poster holders to the run-down concessions stand to the old broken arm rests on some of the seats and just the overall look of the auditoriums. The experience of this particular Regal theater is pretty subpar. During this particular visit I had issues with their Kiosks which are not very well kept. The manager wasn't particularly helpful or polite. Also it seems in very poor taste to have six box office registers available and ZERO employees running them. As many people I observed were lost as to where to get tickets. You can buy tickets at the concession stand but no one to tell you that. You're kinda left to your own devices to figure out what to do. As a theater, it's fine. You can sit down in the old cloth seats that are not very good smelling, and watch your movie. It's a pretty subpar experience. Especially for the area it is located in. REGAL really needs to renovate and retrain staff at this location. It's not a place I'd be excited to revisit.
Overall experience was ok. Whole complex looks like it is in need of a refresh. The employees were very friendly and helpful, so none of my critique applies to them. Seats were not bad, but a little tight. However, the theater was nearly empty. If there had been a crowd, I believe the cramped conditions would be more evident. The concessions were busy and slow. Anything other than popcorn and a drink was an extra wait. We did get 1 hotdog that my daughter said was inedible and threw it away. Did not want to go back and stand in line for 20 min to get a refund. In conclusion, you need to be at least as good as your competitors to get repeat business. Other chains offer better seats, better concessions, even free refills on popcorn and soda. I wanted to give Regal a try to compare to the other chain movie theaters in town. This one needs work.
Not the Regal Alamo Quarry that I remember going to before pandemic. First, there wasn’t anyone at the front counter where you purchase tickets, so you had to purchase at the concession stand. There was 3/4 people behind the counter laughing and playing around and as we walk up, the smiles disappeared and the eye rolls started. Then we had to give our tickets to the young lady at the bottom of the escalator (our movie was upstairs). It took her like 5-10 minutes to count the tickets and count us (I had handed them all to her at once). She counted them several times and FINALLY let us go thru. By the time we got upstairs to the theater, we were regretting our decision to choose this theater. Plus side, we were the only ones watching the movie. Downside, the seats or room smelled like mold. All in all, we won’t be back to this location.
I paid over $67 for two tickets a bucket of popcorn, 2 icee's 1 nacho and 1 hot dog, the hot dog with rubbery and looked over the buns were not even warm and the condiments come in little packages. The popcorn was beyond stale, when I asked for fresh popcorn the guy said it would take too long to make. The only things worth buying are the icee's and maybe the nachos which the tortilla chips come in a bag the cheese is a little bit on the side and then they charge you a $1 extra for a packet of jalapeños. The theater is very outdated, the escalator going up was shaking, the seats are uncomfortable and no trees or anything to put your food in it really needs to be updated and the concession people really need to listen to their customers and give them the best possible not outdated food.
I was pretty disappointed with this theater. The cheetos popcorn was not warm. On the way to theatre 8 my girlfriend was rained on by an unknown object from the ceiling. It was concerning because we didn't know what liquid it was or where it came from. My girlfriend has a lot of allergies. Then when we got to theater 8, upon entry it strongly smelled like mildew. About an hour into the movie my nostrils were burning which made me strongly believe it was more than mildew that we were inhaling, but that it was mold. When we left my girlfriend's chest was burning and my eyes were watering. Despite it being close to home I will take my business to Regal on the Northwest side from here on out because they actually take care of that place.
It is an interesting theater and great example of repurposing existing structures instead of tearing them down. The chairs aren't reclining and aren't as comfortable as their other theaters and almost nobody wants self service kiosks! We are NOT CASHIERS AND RECEIVE NO DISCOUNT for being an unpaid employee. I came because someone bought my ticket as I, personally, refuse to use self service kiosks as they increase unemployment in my city and nationwide, so I will not use them. I go to Santikos where they actually support their community and their employees. Plus they are a nonprofit that supports the city of San Antonio.
The two stars are for the VERY nice people that work there, if not for them, this would be 1 star. The Quarry has aged passed it's hey-days, the auditorium (10) that we were sat in smelled like someone had urinated on the walls. The chairs themselves were damp/moldy feeling/smelling, and opting to not sit in that smell for 3 hours, we made the executive decision to leave. One escalator and the elevator was broken. Save your money, go somewhere else, the nostalgia isn't worth the 35$ we spent on three tickets. We did get our money back, thanks to the very nice people that work there, but we will most likely not return.
Idk...it's been a while since I have been here but I do remember coming here when I was younger and it was nice and comfortable. My wife wanted to see House Of Gucci and I recommended that we go to the quarry because she has never been. So I guess compared to other movie theaters that I have been to, this one seems very obsolete. The seats made the loudest noises, not very comfortable at all. We both got large drinks and the drinks didn't not fit the cup holder, the drinks lean over as if to almost fall out. All in all this place definitely needs an upgrade if they want to be considered some kind of competition.
The staff seem real chill. This is my first time visiting the Regal Establishment. When I first walked in the building, I was certain traveled back to 1996. The theather is outdated and need a long over dur renovation. I will not cime back to this theather. In the auditorium, it looks like it hasnt been updated since 1999. I guess this theather didnt do so well after y2k. One of the two escalators were down. The elevator was out of order. When I left, I had to take the stairs that leads to the outside. Oh yeah, be warned, you will smell mildew in the auditorium and the hallways leading to it. Wear a mask!
Ok so I have NEVER reviewed a theater before but this one is so bad I have to warn ya'll You have to use a touch screens to buy your ticket which would be great if they worked. We had to change machines 3 times to get tickets.Other couples/groups were doing the same...CRAZY. The theater is FILTHY!!!! I am not particulary sensistive to a little dirt but this place was like WHOA. I didn't want to step on the escalator it was so filthy. The theaters have the old style seating. The smell in the theater is Terrible!!! like dirty mops and mold ...ewe. Please just go to another theater this place is bad
Sad to see a great theater like this in decline. We came for the $2 summer movie. There aren't really any food options outside of the basics (i.e. popcorn, nachos, etc). They offer a hot dog on the menu, but it's a questionable little shriveled offering in a greasy paper sack -- 0/10, do not recommend. Floors and seats all feel a bit sticky and greasy. Seats are pretty hard and don't recline. This is such a great location, but the whole place needs a big overall and facelift. Nonetheless, my kids were properly impressed with the decor, and we did have a good time watching the movie.
Went to the movies for the first time in several years and found that they had moved ticket purchase to the concession stand. After standing in line behind kids who had no idea what they wanted for what seemed an eternity I finally had to say enough is enough and left. I understand that the movie house is trying to recoup losses during the pandemic by tempting people to buy from the concession stand but really! I just want to get a ticket to see a movie and to pick my own seat once I get into the theater. Maybe I am just old and remember the way it was before. My two cents!!
Movie was great. Ticket prices okay I think ($11.49 each). Food/drink prices are ridiculous. Popcorn was NOT fresh & butter tasted funny. Pepsi products only. Theatre was ice cold (shivered through whole movie), and #14 was so far for me to walk to. If disabled, don't forget your walker or cane. It's a painful mistake! Also, our chairs constantly shook but no one was on same row or behind. My son & I were both freezing, nauseated & out of breath. Down escalator was broken so you have to use stairs or elevator to leave. Will NOT be returning to Quarry.
Do not go to this theater if you have ANY SENSORY ISSUES or if you are NEURODIVERGENT or AUSTIC. Nothing is clean. No clear directions or lights to find the door your movie is in and some of the doors look like exits. Do not even look at the old, rusty, squealing escalator that should have been removed years ago which means you have to take the emergency stairs. This is a scary theater that smells old and looks like a dirty teenager 's abandoned room. And the movie screen wasn't clear or clean either. But the employees were nice, hence the 2 stars.
Do not sign up for their 3 month unlimited trial. You will end up getting charged for a full year and locked into a contract, no matter how many ways you try to contact them (i.e. customer service hotline, email, local theater, and instagram) Also - this theater is disgusting and could use a serious update. Chairs are uncomfortable, carpet is gross, and it’s small with no room to truly relax. Oh and the concession food is the worst. Popcorn tasted stale, pizza tastes like it came out of an easy bake oven, and the hot dogs are made of rubber.
Perfectly adequate Regal theater at a cool location in the Alamo Quarry, it's got a funky faux industrial decor and a couple of fun games. The theater is a little shopworn, but the customer service level of the folks working the concession stands is consistently very high. Concessions are reasonable for a theater. Seats are still comfortable and theater/projection is sharp with good audio that doesn't break your eardrums. The parking lot is patrolled and appears safe. All in all, everything you need from a modern movie theater.
If you want to listen to CRYING kids and sick sniffling people then this is the theater for you. I attended a 10:45pm movie, the seats are VERY outdated, smell bad and are uncomfortable. The isles in between the seats are so small I literally had to climb over everyone to get to my middle seats. the theater was trashed for the minute I arrived to the time I left. overall HORRIBLE I remember this theater was nice once upon a time. I will NOT be returning! this is goes to show how poor management can run down a place.
Arrived 10 mins before the movie with tickets purchase online waited in line for concessions but was told by a employee to go upstairs as there was a second concession upstairs and no wait time. I got upstairs and there's even more people waited in line with 5 people IN front of me took from 2:50 to 3:39 just to get to the front by this time I had missed half my movie already. I give this place -1/5 stars if I could plus the seats aren't recliners either very narrow spacing never going to this theater ever again!
This is the most outdated movie theater I have ever visited in San Antonio, which shocks me considering the location it is in. We moved to the Alamo Heights area in 2021 and were happy to see a movie theater nearby. That happiness was very short lived once we were in our seats. How are we in 2023 and have theaters that still exist that don't have reclining seats? Not only did they not recline, they were SO UNCOMFORTABLE! This was our one and ONLY visit to this place until it gets the renovation it needs.
The only positive about this theater is its location with so many shops and restaurants around it. The theater seats are narrow and old. In this day and age of recliners, I had to share a fold down arm rest with someone else here. The theater also lacks proper soundproofing. The suspense was ruined by constant thumping and loud music from the neighboring theater. And one last straw that broke the camel's back: no Dr. Pepper or equivalent product! Hello, we're in Texas!
The seating is very tight. It's stadium style and feels like airline seating with how shoulder to shoulder you are with the people next to you. The arm rests do not fit the drinks and there is nowhere to your popcorn. Concessions are limited so don't expect anything substantial like pizza, burgers, wings or hotdogs. I would love for this theatre to modernize to 2020's standards with spacious recliner seating and either order to seat or modern dining options.
Love this theater so much. It is my go-to whenever we're in San Antonio . Also the best part is that it's located in the quarry. Lots of new movies are always available & very spacious. You'll always have a seat no matter what. The staff is friendly & the concession stand always has the best items. Love how the top floor also has a concession stand also so you don't have to go all the way back down for more stuff. Bathrooms & theaters are clean all the time.
By far the worst and most outdated theater in san antonio. I only tried it out because the new jurassic movie was sold out everywhere else. Now I know why nobody bought tickets here. No arcades, filthy carpets , overpriced hot beer, no atm or way to get cash for games like 3 total. Nothing to do while you wait for your showing. Just awkward feel talking to staff very uncomfortable. Nothing good to say about this place. I'll never waste my money here again
I always read reviews and it's hard a bit because people will legit leave a bad review for nothing. Ruining it for the business by deterring any new customers coming their way. I am from a small town and was pleased with this theater. The prices were affordable! The location was great! Many things to do while waiting for your movie to start! The theater was small but it's a cute layout. I definitely recommend this movie theater. No problems or issues!
I wish I could rate 0 stars because the customer service is nonexistent. I called 4 times already and no one will answer the phone. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to answer the phone when it’s not busy. This theater is outdated and boring anyway, website doesn’t help you. I’ll never send another family member here ever again. I only picked this theater because it was near by. I’d rather use gas to drive to a nicer place next time.
My son is autistic with a lot of sensory issues. But with a pair of soft headphones during an afternoon showing, he had the most comfortable and wonderful time at Quarry Cinema. He was so excited to see his first scary movie in the theatre, ever! Five Nights at Freddy’s has been a favorite storyline for him since he was little. Now, at 13, he got to see the live action movie in theatres. He was so excited and had the time of his life.
Time to upgrade. Theater is trash, and food/drink prices are worse. If this theater doesn't remodel and rise to 2024 minimal standards, they won't sustain. Seating less comfortable and comparable to competitors, moldy carpet smell, etc. With your location being set in a more "prestigious" area, you'd hope ownership would elevate execution and perception. Obviously, that isn't the case. Good luck, ya'll are going to need it
Been here for years and I began going to the theaters with reclining seats that I forgot about the Quarry Movie Theatre. Sure, they have stadium seating only but their popcorn is on point, they have Tuesday ticket sales at $5! Their theater is nice and clean, their staff is super friendly and the surround sound is great. I forgot how cool this place is. Definitely my favorite. Did I mention their popcorn is awesome
I really like this theater. The location is awesome, the employees are nice, and the theater and restrooms are always clean. But... the old horrible hard seats show the theater doesn't care about the customer. Almost all other theaters have comfortable seating. Some movies last over 2 hours which is a long time to sit in a hard old chair. I would rather drive to a farther horrible theater than go here again.
Looks amazing from the outside. Then you get in the theater and it smells horrible the whole time, the seats are uncomfortable, feel gross, look gross, make squeeking noises with any movement which distracts from movies during quiet scenes, and you have to move and hear the squeek because they are so uncomfortable. It's worth the extra drive to go to a better regal for seats and non disgusting smell alone
Came here to watch ninja turtles. The theater and auditoriums smell very bad. Like old moldy carpet mixed with restroom. The concessions are super expensive and less than average quality. The location of the theater is nice, but they really need to make changes and updates to this location because it is quickly going downhill. The movie was great, but currently, I do t think I can recommend this place.
Big shout out to Noah L! He went way out beyond than this normal duties! I came from out of town with a layover of 5 hours I needed to occupy with a suit case. He locked my suit case in a office so I could enjoy a movie! After the movie, they were closed and said no rush waiting for your ride, take your time, we have to clean up. So polite, being alone in SA till midnight, I felt so safe! ⭐️
Worst Movie experience ever. First of all, Movie previews start and lights inside stay on. Hard to see the screen. Went to tell manager and he stated that was normal. Went to buy popcorn and it tasted old not fresh at all. Brought an adult beverage for my wife, $11.99 for a 24 oz Can of beer. Don't mind the price but at least make sure beer is Cold. Will never visit this theater again......
Definitely in need to remodel the seating. They're old and floors were sticky. I'm not understanding how patrons get their drinks on the floor do yall have holes in your mouths? I sat in the far back row and part of the seat blocked my view. Need to fix the elevation of the seats. There is a science behind seating in theaters... needs to to be deployed.... should've stuck with AMC tbh.
Restroom didn't have any soap in any of the dispenser upstairs also floor was slimy and chairs were horribly squeaky. The escalator also felt like it was about to break down you can hear the motor as well as feel it shaking while your going up. The only good thing was the movie that was the only reason I sucked it up because the movie was awesome. Would not recommend
So I think it might be time to replace this entire theatre. Escalators broke, good luck in a fire!! Screens have a sheen to them so what did I just spend $50 on? Very disappointed especially with the area this place is in. Now I know why we had the theatre to ourselves! Oh Forgot to mention the unbearable mildew stench pretty sure this place is full of black mold.
I won’t say much, but I will say this. Smells musty, seats are uncomfortable and isn’t very clean. The service was very nice and the gentleman that’s guides you to the room you’re in was also pretty nice. Due to location, this place would be a great theater to come watch a great movie if they were able to compete with the offered amenities of nearby theaters.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. From the over crowded 1990s movie theater, to the broken escalators. I’m pregnant imagine having to walk down 6 flights of stairs…. It was dirty old and smelly, we touched shoulders with nearly everyone sitting next to us. It was unsanitary and uncomfortable, if you have bad claustrophobia or anxiety just stay away
Giving a 2 for the great customer service at the concession stand but that theater was disgusting. The carpet was so stained and dirty. When we got to our theater the ushers were cleaning and they did a great job. The seats in there are extremely old and uncomfortable. I literally wanted to leave during the movie because they were so uncomfortable.
This place is horrible, if it wasn't for the nice staff it would get 0 stars .. Seats have been worn out with body molds , and are extremely uncomfortable and full of stains . The place also smells like an old locker room. Definitely needs a remodel. Oh and of course the snack bar is VERY LIMITED and out of stock. I will NEVER be returning...
Horrible movie theater. Escalators don't even work ! uncomfortable seats, understaffed ! Couldn't find me a restroom on top floor ! Water fountains don't work ! They didn't even give me 3d glasses for the movie I paid for. Had to go find some old used ones in the recycling box since there were no staff anywhere to be found.
It is discussing here for the seats. We had to put napkins down on the seats. Didn't matter where we were going to sit. You would think after paying $28 for 3D tickets and $17 for Popcorn and a drink at least the seats would be clean. What has happened to management taking care of this place?? Will never be back.
Seats don't recline, they don't give you extra butter. It was all dry and getting stuck in my throat. Cup holders old fashioned. You had to be careful not to drop the coke bc it didn't fit in the cup holder. Escalator wasn't working. Restrooms were closed due to overflowing. Not a great experience at all.
Self serve kiosks are old & a bit difficult to operate. You have to keep pressing the same thing over & over for it to take & the QR code scanner doesn't work to apply the points to your rewards account. The theater seats are also old & ancient and are not roomy at all and with no reclining capabilities.
Seats are not comfortable, my husband was literally sliding down his seat. Dirty dirty dirty everywhere, had a funky smell. They didn't turn out all the lights during the movie. Up above the lights were dimmed but not off. Whole room had a glow that should not be there in a theater. Restrooms were gross.
The sound on the speakers were so low all I heard were the people around me eating popcorn and talking. Went and informed management about speakers not working properly and nothing was done. Needless to say I didn't enjoy my movie ... Please for the love of God update that theater to better standerds.
The building itself is great but the customer service sucked. 10 mins in line for the lady in front of us to be waiting for a bag of chips. When it was our turn we asked for a beer. He asked for ID, didn’t say anything and walked away. 10 minutes later, someone else came to help us and get us beer.
Large screens and the associates were kind. I do wish the seats were upgraded for comfort with wider seats, reclining, and a small table for for food. Also wish the popcorn and drinks were self serve like most theaters are nowadays. Guess I've just gotten spoiled. Overall not bad a bad experience.
Cinema was clean and staff was friendly, but the theater was very dated and really needs a facelift. The seats do not recline and are not as comfortable as most theaters. There is not a very large incline between rows so if someone sits in front of you it would somewhat block the screen/view.
Seats are old. Need to be updated. They do not recline. Seats smell like sweat . Only 1 concession is open. Most of the shows are downstairs. You have to walk down the hall. Down the stairs to the concession. Back upstairs to your movie. You'll miss about 10 to 15 minutes of the movie. …
Good selection of movies. Modern comfy reclining seats. They gave my USAF daughter and I the military discount. This is the most unique movie theater I’ve ever been to. Outside there are three or four big smokestacks and inside is what looks like a giant ship engine up on the second floor!
This Cinema is always very clean, seats are very comfortable, surround sound, huge screens. Of course like any theater a bit pricey on food, snacks and drink. Beer and wine available, arcade games, stairs and elevators as well as escalators. The staff is friendly plenty of parking.
I always have a great movie viewing experience at Regal Cinemas. I really like the design and layout of this theater and the multiple screens they have allows for a great selection of movies tonight choose from. The app is also really nice and easy to use to order tickets with.
they never answer their damn phone what do you have a line for? big cockroaches in the theatre crawled on my baby daughter face and made her spill her food.i’m very disappointed in my visit and will be taking my bread to Santikos where they do it right. L Regal …
I have been going to this theater for many years. The sound system and the quality of visuals on screen are very poor, because of old equipment. All the equipment needs updating. The seats are old school and little has been updated since the theater opened many years ago.
Please elaborate on the false advertising of prices? Military price listed at 8.29, rung up at 10.29. When I asked why the difference I was told I'm sorry this is what it rung up at. Change the sign or correct the price. $2 is $2, but it's the principle of the matter.
The seats are narrow and old. I went to watch Sound of freedom 9:50 pm and there was some loud people on row H, ghetto people who know no manners, they even dropped a drink and they didn’t even bother to go get someone to clean it. Never going back to that theatre.
Good luck getting an auditorium with updated seats. Watched a top box office movie and couldn’t see past the heads in front of us. Seats do not recline nor do they have the trays on them. So if you like old school, same level velour seats… this is your place.
Watched Barbie with my bestie bro on Saturday 08-26-2023. Disappointed a little since Senior Discount was not allowed by Warner Brothers. Boohoo ❤️ In every little girls, young ladies and wan, there is a Barbie in "US". Patriarchy sucks, of course.
Great experience! There was an electricity issue at a different theater and the manager here honored our tickets and even gave us a popcorn and drink to enjoy! Very accommodating, manager and staff were very courteous! Definitely recommend this theater.
How does this place not have reclining seats yet? Also, don't come here if you have a truck or larger vehicle. The parking spaces here tighter than usual. My old truck got scratched here bc it's San Antonio and we need space to get into our vehicles.
Today is 07/23/2023. This place is trash. Nobody cleans the floor, bathrooms or the napkin area. The seats? Only theater in san antonio with no reclining seats. Do not come here. Wait for red box to come out with movie. I want my 35.00 back.
Needs a complete overhaul, everything is outdated, escalator wasn’t working to go down, upstairs concession was closed. Carpet is crazy filthy, the seats are very uncomfortable, restrooms were disgusting… Just all around terrible experience.
I really like this theater, and the location is great. I do feel its a bit dated and needs some updates like carpet, chairs, etc. Escalator stairs always seem to be having problems. Decent service (wish upstairs concessions would stay open)
What a dump, I am sitting here in the theater waiting for the movie to begin and it smells horribly like mold and mildew..just gross..nobody at the ticket counter and the concession girl tells me they don't honor the tickets I bought from
Seats are very tiny and need an update desperately. Escalator needs to be fix immediately. We were never told, once we got to the top we would need to take the fire escape to get down. Over all prices for tickets and concession were fair.
This theater is really cool looking and just like all theaters, their pricing isn't that different from one to the other. Seating could stand to be less cramped and more comfy, but alas, not all theaters have gone to the recliners down
Where to begin, initially walked into the theater and no one was at the front desk it was our first time here and no employees around. Once we got an employee to purchase our tickets we had enough points for a free ticket and my wife's
The screen in Theater 8 was horrible. There was some kind of pink light washing out the projection from trailers throughout the whole movie. I went and asked someone about it. They said they were looking into it, but nothing was done.
Nothing like our movie theaters in Orlando Fl and they had an escalator going up about 4 flights of stairs and the escalator going down was broken thank God the elevator worked. Denzil Washington was the only thing made it bearable…
NO Eras Movie Cups. NO Restaurant just concessions/ Snacks tasted stale Nobody answers the phones when you call Auditoriums ae not labeled Escalator was out of service Messy Theater For it being in Alamo Heights... I expected more.
Fun and historical atmosphere. Several movie choices available. Affordable. The theater has maintained many of the original Alamo Cement architectural features and old photos. A neat place to visit and bring out of town friends.
These were the most uncomfortable seats I’ve ever been in. The distance between the front and rear seats is extremely short. Our long legged friend couldn’t even sit comfortably. This theater is in desperate need of a remodel.
This place is way outdated and definitely not worth the $8 cup of soda. The chairs don’t even recline and the cups they serve are all wobbly in the cup holders… 1/10 do not recommend. PS…I’m sure only one speaker was working.
It's unfortunate, and I'm sure this is more than likely the aftermath of the COVID crisis, but it's obvious that this theater needs a lot of TLC. It's expensive and the movie viewing rooms smell like old, wet, musty basement.
For being in the Quarry, this place is super rundown and outdated. The seats were stained, smelly, and uncomfortable. It is long overdue for a major renovation. The staff was nice, and that was the only redeeming quality.
Why pay the same ticket price here as other premium theaters with deluxe reclining seats. Sorry Regal Alamo Quarry but you could use some much needed TLC, including updated your seating, my back killed me that last visit.
Movie theater 8 reeks. Sat there breathing out my mouth because the smell was horrid. I could the describe the smell to be of wet dog and mold. The theater chairs are very outdated and old. Would not recommend.
Worst concession food. The chicken nuggets tasted like it's full of breadcrumb fillers. So dense and dry. Hotdog was not even hot. Just unevenly warmed. Drive elsewhere. Not worth the money …
The seats are terrible. I've been in 2 different theaters there and both had old chairs and were uncomfortable. The only difference was that one theater had red velvet seats and the other didn't.
Nice place didn't really look around. Seats seemed to need to be updated. The staff seemed to be not super attentive. They let my wife and I walk around and stand there while they played around.
We were in san antonio and we went to this movie theater the place was ok needs a lil bit of cleaning got refill on our popcorn and the view they have when you look up is the pistons of a motor
Just got here and I feel like I'm sitting in a airplane. Extremely uncomfortable theater. You can't even enjoy their overpriced food and drinks since I'm sure you'll bump the person next to you
Only had half of their concession open with 25-30 minute waits. Might as well not serve snacks if that’s how long it takes. Doesn’t make sense to have a 15 minute wait in the middle of a movie.
It was not the best experience bad, small sits, dirty theater room, you have to eat with the fingers because they don’t even had plastic forks, no hand sanitizer anywhere. Not returning
Nice unique theater! Definitely old, but it had a good atmosphere. Loved seeing Ant-Man here and would go again. It was a lot cleaner than many other reviews state, which was a relief!
10 mins of pure soda commercials even before previews start. Previews and more commercials total more than 30 mins. Show up 30 mins after showtime and be good to go. So annoying.
I LIKE IT SO FAR. We watch the movie Sound of Freedom. This is true story of children kidnapped by the children traffickers. This can happen to your child be careful …
Absolutely disgusting theater. Customer service is awful, it's dirty, the air conditioner is awful. The seats are stained, ripped, and the hall in theater 9 smells like urine.
The seats were decent but well with older theaters you get that sweaty theater smell. Popcorn was not fresh, it may be last night's batch since we were at the morning showing.
What a cool movie theater! For me it was like a throw back to a time before Drafthouse and all of the modern changes to theaters. And it’s located in a great part of town.
If you were at Alamo Quarry theatre at be their grand opening like 20 years ago, you've seen it. It hasn't changed one bit. Same red seats, same carpet. Same sticky floor.
I’m from out of town and this place is so inviting. Great shops with a movie theater. Last minute movie to kill time before a flight back. Would recommend.
needs to update there chairs they are small and don't recline and this theater charges more for tickets than other places with nicer comfortable seating
Was Great ! Good Place to go to Relax ,Injoy the Views there ! Great People around! Asome food ! Plenty of Parking there ! Injoy the Shopping ️! …
Picture and sound quality where good. Seats are of poor quality. No cashiers to sell tickets. Pepsi products :/. Will find a different movie theater.
