UPDATE: I have now seen two films in 4DX, one of which was also in 3D, and both times was an absolutely incredible experience, enough to change my review from 3 stars to 4. From the immersive motion seats that turn the film into basically being on a 2 hour rollercoaster ride, to the air and water features, and even "snow" that falls from the ceiling, any action movie deserves to be seen in 4DX and it is the sole reason why I will continue to come to this theater. You can tell the motion is thoughtfully crafted for each specific scene in the film and it's never just random shaking. It's hard to imagine seeing a movie any other way anymore! The 4DX theater itself is also much nicer and cleaner than most of this theater's other auditoriums. I visited this theater recently when I remembered I had a free ticket on my Crown Club card from the points I had accumulated at my college theater out-of-state pre-pandemic. It had been a while since I'd visited the Gateway location so I thought I'd check it out again. ("Old" was phenomenal by the way, a must see) The biggest difference you'll note if you haven't been to a Regal theater in a while is that they now only carry Pepsi products. I'm all for that and the drink options that are now available as a result. However, that's about where the pros of this theater end. This is the only traditional movie theater in the area (not including dine-ins) that don't have reclining seats and the ones they do have are in desperate need of an upgrade and aren't comfortable at all. The place was clean, although pretty dead on a Tuesday night. The employees were very friendly, but I personally see no reason to choose this theater over the neighboring AMC or Cinemarks due to the seating and wider range of concession offerings the other theaters offer. I may still visit this theater in the future to try the 4DX experience, which is also relatively new to this location and the only one of its kind in central Texas.

This Regal is great. Plenty of Parking and well lit parking lot. Entry is simple if you pre purchase your tickets. Simply have the QR code open on your phone, and it gets scanned when you walk in. The ticket attendant will tell you which side your movie is on. The snacks area is clean and something i noticed is the cashiers are very knowledgeable about movies and pop culture. They pass the time with pleasant conversation while filling your buckets and cups. The 4DX experience at this location is AMAZING!! I watched the original Poltergeist in this format and it was exciting and fun. The seats turn toward the action or focus. the jump scares are even scarier when there is a knock in your chair or a cold breeze blowing during outside scenes. Sometimes the seats buck and jump depending on the activity so be prepared for some exciting times. Nothing painful or "too much". I also watched Halloween Ends in this 4dx format and it was enjoyable (even though the movie was kind of bad). The theater was clean and when it ended there were attendants waiting to clean and prepare for the next showing. Regal offers an app program where for X amount of dollars a month you can watch whatever you want with no blackouts. I think the highest tier to watch at any Regal cinema in the US is like 23 dollars as of this day. You just pay the different if the movie is IMAX or 4DX but any regular 2d movie can be watched using this club. Pretty good deal since if you see 2 movies a month, you have already paid for this service so GO SEE MOVIES the way they were meant to be seen on the big screen! And go to this Regal, its a great place!

I got the Regal Unlimited plan and it was 100% not worth it. As for this physical location: Staff is nice, but the General Admission theaters are so gross and look like they're from the 60s, No Coca Cola freestyle soda machine, super limited snack/food menu. 3 Slushies options but every time I went at least 1-2 of the flavors was unavailable. I am pretty sure I have visited this theater at least 12 times in the past 6 months. I always paid extra for 4DX or IMAX so those theaters were a bit newer but still, those GA seats need to be replaced ASAP. As for the Regal unlimited: This is the worst way to do a subscription movie plan. they charge $18/month for the base plan and it only covers GA. If you want to upgrade to 4DX or IMAX best believe that you are paying a surcharge of $2-7 a ticket. AMC Stubs is $20, no fees or surcharges and it includes their version of 4DX and IMAX in that subscription. I could never get the "redeem code" to work. Basically I would redeem a "Free popcorn upgrade" or Drink upgrade code and it would only apply my "10% Regal Unlimited discount" (-$0.70?) instead of saving me the $4+ on my popcorn. Canceling it was so ugly, I had to message the company on Facebook, because you cannot cancel online or using the app. What a joke. (Again this second paragraph should reflect Regal as a company, not this specific location or their employees)

Visiting from Chicago, and always an AMC customer, I was skeptical about going to other theater franchises. I read a review that said to do the 4DX experience if going to this theater, so I did. I saw The Exorcist Believer, with my friend, and we did the 4DX experience. It was a little over $20 per ticket, which I thought was reasonable these days, and still lower than Dolby Cinema at AMC, and it was an evening show. Brace yourself, because it’s like watching a movie and riding a roller coaster, plus some air and water unexpected effects here and there. WORTH the price. The ONLY thing to expect that others may be disappointed is the chairs don’t recline in 4DX, understandably, since there’s a lot of movement going on throughout the movie. As for concessions, I can only speak about my specific experience. The greeter was VERY nice and helpful. The concession attendant was friendly, attentive, and, most importantly, patient. She didn’t look bored or annoyed working at a movie theater like a lot of the people I’ve seen. Their selection is good. I was satisfied. Overall, will visit this theater again. Will probably do another 4DX experience. I want my money’s worth.

I haven't been here in years and the only reason we went was because we had gift cards we never used. Anyhow fast forward to the experience, we had to purchase our tickets at the concession stand no big deal. It wasn't until the lady who took our order was mad at the world because she had to help us.(Her energy was so foul not just to us but the others she helped before us). I handed her the gift cards but they weren't scanning but her nasty attitude acted like it was our fault. In my head, I am like I am NOT part of the problem (I was just trying to buy tickets and a beer). Well lets just say she had to manually type in the #s one by one. Mind you I was super nice to her, I even apologize for her to having to do her job lol. Long story short, the lady who works there should not be working with people. Trust me I know people have their bad days but she has no right treating people the way she did. Plus this location smells pretty bad :(

I've been to two movies here, and neither of them were good theater experiences. The first time was in the Imax theater, and it was way too loud. This time was in a regular theater, and when the movie started, the lights never went down, and the only sound came from one speaker behind the screen. My wife went out and told them about it, and all they did was turn up the volume on the speaker behind the screen. The lights never went down, and the surround speakers never came on. Also, just a small thing, but they don't have samples of the containers on display at the concession stand, so there's no way to know what the sizes are like. These are basic movie theater things that should never be messed up, so we're probably done with this place. There are lots of other quality options in the area.

This was my first visit to this particular Regal theater. Overall I can say i was satisfied with this location. We visited to specifically experience the 4DX auditorium, which I can honestly say was a lot of fun. The motion seats, mixed with the addition effects like water strobe lights etc. Definitely made the movie more exciting. Though I wouldn't recommend if you have small children, are easily nauseated, or are planning on eating popcorn. The motion can be very sudden, abrupt and a bit aggressive at times. It's fun but be warned ⚠️ All in all this theater was a pleasant visit. The staff was polite and the building was well kept. I would definitely recommend this theater for a visit. I will more than likely be visiting again.

This was my first time going to this theater since moving to Austin. It's ok...a little dated, but it's decent. It doesn't have the newer, comfy chairs and there's nowhere to put your feet under the seats in front of you because it's blocked by a cement strip. However, the staff are really nice and the IMAX screen is nice too. It would be great if you had the option to add your own butter and salt on your popcorn. Overall, a decent little theater Update: I've been back to this theater 4 times now. Overall still a nice place to catch a recent movie . It would be nice if you had the option to add your own butter to your popcorn because it's only put on the top and the popcorn is dry at the halfway point.

  • Spencer Stewart

We went and saw Oppenheimer on a Monday night and had a great time. The concessions stands moved quickly despite the large crowd. The popcorn, drink, and hotdog were tasty. Of course it's overpriced, but that's classic movie theatres. The IMAX theatre was clean and the seats were comfortable. They weren't premium seats, but we were comfortable enough for the three hour movie. I really wanted to rate them 5 stars because I called in later to have them print a receipt so I could get rewarded for my concession stand purchase. The lady I spoke to was really nice and helped me out, which she absolutely didn't need to do since it was my fault for not asking for a receipt. That sort of service is what will bring me back.

This theater is a DUMP. From the moment you walk it it's pure chaos, the staff seems to be lost in even trying to get popcorn, they have NO bottled waters and give you the smallest cups they have. This place should have been updated 10 years ago. The floors are sticky, dirty, and they don't seem to clean anything between showings. We went to see Sound of Freedom, and of course, NO A/C in the theater. The seats are so outdated, uncomfortable, and jammed together you'll feel like you're in the last row of a small United flight. With all the great, new theaters in Austin, seriously...there is NO reason to ever go here. We went because it was the only one that fit our time slot. We walked out before the movie started.

  • Russell Stanford

Been going here for movies over 10 years. Our last visit had the nicest guy working the ticket booth. An elderly couple couldn't navigate the website to find the movies, she stated they don't get out much to see "picture shows". The guy at the ticket booth politely gave them a synopsis of all the movies playing. He also stated that they could navigate the movies easier with a smart phone app. They replied what is a smartphone. They handed him their phone and he downloaded it for them and also gave them a printed copy with the synopsis on it to help them find a movie because they couldn't see any "R" rated movies. Cudos to the teenager selling tickets. It was really nice of him.

Worst movie experience. As an audio engineer I could tell right as the trailers started rolling that the volume level was way too loud. I used a decibel reading app on my phone that I use for work. I was seeing spikes of 95dB’s sustaining for more than 3 seconds at a time. That’s seriously a problem. This can cause hearing damage. Even the calm scenes of dialogue were right at 85dB(which is technically supposed to be the limit for most movie theaters). My wife and I left after about 5 minutes of the actual movie. We thought it would get better since trailers seem to always be louder. We were wrong, the whole movie would’ve been a miserable experience.

  • Jovana Matovich

Didn’t have any promotional props or regalia for Barbie or Oppenheimer. They advertised Barbie mixed drinks but they weren’t serving because it was too busy for them. They didn’t have half the items on the menu and I had to wait for popcorn. The staff was very rude and Debbie downers. The bathroom were very dirty and had no toilet paper. The lines for concession was a 30 min wait. You would think management would have better prepared for 2 great movies opening up by having more employees and promotional props. I was pretty disappointed in the theatre but the movie itself was great. Definitely don’t recommend this site to watch any movies.

  • Ellie C.

I went to this movie theater for an advance screening last night. It was my first visit and tbh the overall experience was not as bad as the reviews I’ve been seeing on Yelp & Google. The theater has a huge parking lot right in front of it and upon entering, there were two staffs at the entrance that guided us to the event that we were attending. We were at theater 4 and the space was not bad. It was cleaner than I expected and there was no weird odors inside. The advance screening for Joy Ride was amazing and the hostess did a great job as well! I highly recommended everyone to snag a ticket for their premiere on July 7 2023!

  • Heng Hak

A venue that has not kept up with the rest of the industry. A sub par experience all around. I spent $23 on the 3D IMAX Avatar movie. And another $17 on a soda and popcorn. Things that went wrong. My popcorn was the bottom of the barrel crumbs. No excuse for this since the movie was scheduled for 4 pm, Next, the movie didn't start until 4:30pm. The biggest let down were the old small uncomfortable seats that don't even have the slight recline. Even seats on an airplane recline. Time to catch up to the rest of the industry and get full size reclining loungers, if not for the whole theater atleast for your 3d and IMAX.

  • Ruth Gutierrez

I asked for extra butter on my popcorn and didn't get it, so I asked for a small cup of butter and they said they couldn't give it to me. This is the only movie theater that won't give you extra butter. Then, we got here early to sit and eat for a while before the movie started and someone came in the theater telling us we had to leave and sit outside while they clean the theater, even though there was no trash anywhere near us. We weren't in the way and could've stayed sitting. There's really nothing impressive about this place. The food is bland, the seats are uncomfortable and the service sucks. That is all.

  • Nick Ruiz

While not quite what I expected, it was overall a great experience. Illumination Studios managed to animate the characters we’re familiar with in a way that didn’t seem uncanny or off putting at all, which I give them full kudos for! The story in and of itself was actually very short and concise, and the time did fly by. Although there certainly were some overtly cheesy moments and lines in the movie, some did almost make me feel like I was being asked to laugh at a joke. Overall a 6.5/10 as a movie, 9/10 as an experience. This theater that I watched the movie in was nice as well.

  • Tia Banks

This theater needs a complete remodel. The seats are old, too firm, ripped, and DO NOT RECLINE. I left with a crock in my neck, trying to hold my neck a certain way to watch the Barbie movie. I blame myself because I should have done more research about the theater. I only chose it for convenience, as it was close to my job. I am a Cinemark theater supporter, and I will continue with Cinemark. The seats are huge leather chairs that recline. Consider me spoiled by Cinemark, but I was not impressed by Regal theater at the Stonelake location.

  • Eric Bliss

I came here for a Sneak Preview of Wakonda Forever. Marvell continues to astound us by remembering that a good story is needed before any special effects. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll keep it brief and generic: a good job was done addressing the death of the prior king and the plot that follows was great for someone who hasn't read the comics. The theatre venue was nice and actually pretty cool for trying to look like the Alamo. I love the smell of popcorn in a theatre. Seats seem a little dated, but I was comfy. 4 stars.

  • lil PowPow

Went to Haunted Mansion opening night I usually would go to the one or 2 down south but I wanted to try it in 4D. I had never heard of 4D, and haven't seen anything in 3D since Frozen II. Man, that was a trip! It was definitely quite an experience that I'd recommend for anyone with the option. The seats don't recline. . . worry not! You are in for a ride! Literally the seats are in connected rows of 4 and it does give you roller coaster feels. Honestly, I think 4D was the best way of watching such a well casted and produced movie.

  • Marcus Leese

I do like this place, and pay for Regal Unlimited as I find it's allowed me to see so many movies that I otherwise would not have touched. However, the seats do put a tiny bit of stress on my lower back, and I can recall a couple times when the movie seemed just a little bit louder than they probably should have been. I still believe that for anyone interested in movies, this cinema has a great selection and Unlimited gives you a lot of freedom in seeing everything they have to offer. The staff have been incredibly helpful too.

  • Brandon Curtis

This is not a real IMAX theater. Look up the difference between digital and 70mm IMAX. Just about everything experience wise was awful. According to the staff, they were out of water, ice-e’s and apparently friendly attitudes. Theater seats are very uncomfortable with a lack of leg room. Movie started 30 minutes late with the lights left on during the entirety of the ads. If you enjoy theaters like Alamo, stay far far away from this place. I forgot how bad mediocre theaters can be. Thanks for that, I guess.

  • Ben Rodrigue

Kallie was fantastic in concessions. She went over everything and even offered to layer my butter even though it was so much more effort on her part. As a former employee of a different theatre, I know how easy it is to stop caring halfway through the late shift but she was attentive through it all. Unfortunately, Regal is out of my way so I most likely won't be returning but I won't forget Kallie and her service. The atmosphere is also really cool, I liked the arcade games but was too poor to play them.

  • Terran Heart of Sole

My family was going stir crazy one day and we all need to get out of the house. The theater was in the area while we were out driving about. We're able to get our tickets snacks and drinks and very quick and Swift order. This movie theater was very clean well staffed with trains team members and managers. I definitely plan on returning this experience is a rare occurrence. I respect the dedication of those who work here. Providing a exceptional experience for their patrons. I most definitely will return.

  • Foodie at Corazón

I would skip this location. Watched "Oppenheimer" here in theater #13. The movie was weirdly quiet – the volume just wasn't loud enough to the point that it got super annoying and you could hear everyone eating their snacks around you. Also, the lights on the side of the theater (the stars) didn't dim so the theater was too bright. Bathrooms were unclean and the concessions lines were overflowing to the point that we decided to skip them completely. The chairs don't recline and don't have leg/footrests.

  • Dayle Stark

Went to see the Meg 2 in 3D 4DX. The movie was, of course, another incredible version of the first movie. HOWEVER, I wouldn't recommend the 4DX version if you have any physical limitations or if you plan to enjoy popcorn or a drink. The 4DX is too harsh a ride to enjoy ANYTHING! It literally jolted us out of the best parts of the movie. The effects should be more subtle to enhance the action, not so extreme that it throws you from your seat! Anyhow, great 3D movie..but it's a hard NO for 4DX!

  • Tee Campbell

Pros the sound is good. Cons movie starts at 7 p.m. didn't start letting people in the movie until 6 30 p.m. should have started letting people in at 6:00, so they could go to the concession stands. The lines were long because they had two popular movies preview at the same time. With they being said they should have anticipated a crowd and been just a lite more organized for the concession stands. Other than that the place is ok and I plan on going there again. The popcorn was hot.

  • adithya pazhoor

Went for spiderverse movie 6/9/23 (8:30pm show) in theatre 16. Experience was really bad. There was some kind of weird smell inside the theatre. Felt like it wasn’t cleaned and maintained. Also the sound quality was very bad. Seemed like the sound was coming just from the screen and not from the sides. The experience relating to the sound effects wasn’t my first time. Last time when I went to watch PS2 also, the sound quality was very poor. Hope the management will look into it.

  • Xavier Morgan

Regal Gateway in Austin, TX is a great movie theater that offers a comfortable and enjoyable movie-watching experience. The seats are spacious and comfortable, the sound and picture quality is top-notch, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The theater also offers a variety of food and drinks options, making it easy to enjoy a meal or snack while watching a movie. Overall, Regal Gateway is a great choice for those looking for a high-quality movie-watching experience in Austin.

  • josh sepulveda

I spent $67.57 on tickets and food and couldn’t find jalapeños so I asked for some from Mathew the cashier and he wanted to change me $.99 I asked to speak to the manager Jason and he held firm and said they take inventory so he couldn’t give me a small container that cost less than a dollar. I’m not using Regal anymore. I was fine paying the 300% mark up on food and drinks. I can afford $.99. It’s the principle. Its customer service. You don’t nickel and dime your customers.

  • Christopher George (Chris G)

I had a great time at Regal Gateway Theater, especially in the IMAX Theater where I watched "Oppenheimer." The movie was fantastic, and the immersive experience was truly captivating. However, after the film around 10 pm, I was a bit disappointed to find that most hotdogs were sold out, leaving just one. Understandably, it's late at night so I could cut some slack. Overall, it was a decent experience with the highlight being the impressive IMAX screening of "Oppenheimer."

  • Marc

Best way to watch all action packed movies, highly recommend 3D and 4DX experience, there is nothing else better to watch a movie! It is worth every penny! Watched Suicide Squad and Free Guy this way and now Ghostbusters. The experience gives you better lighting, sound, air, rain, aroma, smoke, feel the bullets or punches on your seat and the whole seat moves according to the movie! The best! Really cool to bring family over, it is like a 2 hour rollercoaster!

  • Matthias Gautreaux

Horrible place! Was accepting cash only (with no ATM on the property. Had to go to the Wells Fargo and took 10 extra minutes then, the movie attendant knew we were late, however, remained sweeping and didn’t get behind the cash register to help his co-worker. Once in the movie, they turn the air conditioner … during the winter!!!…. Don’t go there! Their seats recline, but they’re absolutely confusing and it’s just not worth the trouble going to a movie there!

  • Aisha Milburn

The seating needs improvement. I think this is the only theater I've gone to that DOESN'T offer reclining seats. The staff are friendly. I wouldn't use the Regal app here. Our concession cashier did not understand that I simply wanted a large drink and large popcorn. Instead we were given the Thor collectible containers for $8 more. She scanned my app twice to redeem points for concession items and my points disappeared. But my items weren't given to me.

  • Jayneese Fitzgerald

Had fun here if you get your own tickets okay the kiosk it can be a bit tricky when trying bc to sit near your friends. I’d just get all the seats together on one order rather than trying to buy separate. You already know the food and snacks are high priced so don’t complain lol the popcorn was fresh and the theater was clean. Ordered, nachos with extra cheese and jalapeños, candy, small popcorn and a coke freezie slush it was about $31.

  • Lynn Simmons

Watched Oppenheimer on the IMAX theater screen. The screen and sound system were good, no issues there. The seating is definitely old school. I haven't been in seats as closely spaced as these in a loonngg time. Concessions were outrageously priced. At least 50% more than I pay at the Cinemark or City Lights. If it wasn't for the IMAX screen I would not go here again, and even if it were an IMAX movie I probably won't go back.

  • Austin N

Only been here once, but the seating and sound quality were pretty mediocre. Most theaters have moved to the big recliner style seats, this one still has the airliner type chairs that have a thin veneer of a decades worth of spilled sodas and powdered popcorn granules imbedded into them. Sound quality was also not as good as many modern theaters. For $15 a ticket I would have expected a little better experience.

  • Darshan Satyamurthy

Came here to watch a movie and I must say that I was very disappointed to see this theatre in such a pathetic and unkempt condition. The theatre is OLD and they have not bothered to remodel it. The stadium seatings inside the screens doesn’t help and there is very little room to stretch your legs. The sound systems definitely needs an upgrade if not a complete overhaul . Overall very disappointed.

  • SD D

I had a horrible experience with them, I went to a show on 13th Aug 2023 at 5:10 PM at theatre room #7, they had a very very loud volume. It was very disturbing to everyone and we even called the reception and requested to lower the volume but no one cared. Me and my friends are never coming again to this theatre. They should check the volume levels for every movie, otherwise it's very disturbing

  • Elisa Jimenez

Nope. Pizza tastes like cardboard. Staff is rude and unattentive. The menu is a lie, when we tried ordering something from the menu LITERALLY advertised on the screen they did not have it. Not only that but staff was unfriendly and sarcastic about it. Never coming back again, I really wish I could complain to someone more directly about it but guess Google reviews will have to do.

  • Jaleel Stiggers

This place is absolutely terrible. They were running out of drinks and food, the chairs are like airplane seats, and the theater smells like wet dog. A complete waste of time and money!! Also if you plan to get any food here come an hour early because the ladies down there shouldn’t be on a register they can’t keep up and move like it’s their first day learning how to breathe.

  • tvbuster

This theater has just about everything. 2d, 3d, imax, 4dx. I went here to try 4dx and I will say it’s not for everyone. The chairs move you around a lot so be ready. It’s kinda like you’re going on a ride at Disney world. I saw Avatar in 4dx and it was awesome. But if you see a drama it’s probably not worth it. Otherwise this theater was huge, clean, nice employees, friendly.

  • Charzi Corner

Regal Cinemas is well know theater and they release all language movies with multiple show. I have been to multiple locations in different states but this location though the theater is good I felt seats were very uncomfortable. There is a very big parking lot and there are few machine games which the kids would love to spend time when they are too early to the theater.

  • Q Mendez

The 4D experience is what makes this theater AMAZING. It's really like a ride and a movie in one. The seats move and vibrate, lights flash, and there's fog and wind. It even releases scents to accompany certain scenes in the movie. My family enjoyed the experience. The rest of this place is really not all that impressive, but it has the basics of any movie theater.

  • libertines Fink

A surprisingly expensive ticket despite cheap seats and poor screen quality. I’ve noticed with most regal theaters in the Austin area their screens are usually washed out and never masked properly. I think this theater is a perfect example why the theatrical expensive is dying. Regal is the biggest theater chain in Austin and they barley care about the movies image

  • Peter Young

Never until today have I walked out of a movie because I couldn’t hear it. Barbie yesterday at Alamo: just fine. Oppenheimer: no idea what they’re saying. And good luck asking anyone there for help. I get home and call and they say they can refund me if I come back to the theater. Never again. 20 bucks down the drain and I still haven't seen the movie.

  • kc

Lots of mixed reviews but was okay needs updating and the guy who served us seem a little flirty and missed heard me when I asked for popcorn got it in the end but wasn’t hard to hear as it was pretty empty and it was the first thing I ordered but we did get a fresh batch! Nacho cheese was okay but we could of gotten more then a packet of chips !

  • Andrew Velasquez

Brought thr family to watch the new Troll movie. For being an opening weekend the entire theater was quite empty. The audio and video all seemed okay. The seating super outdated and a little ripped. This place needs a major remodel or something. Ordered snacks. The staff was super friendly though. Not sure if ill return to this theater.

  • Jacob Neff

Just your basic multiplex theater. Concessions are kinda expensive, but I've never been to a theater where that wasn't the case. They have a lot of screens, including IMAX. Usually not overly crowded, ubers are always available in the area too. A good choice if you're on the north side of Austin and want popcorn and a new movie.

  • Bonita De La Rosa

We saw Jaws in 3D, the picture was fantastic! So happy we got to enjoy it like never before 10/10 Staff wasn't friendly or helpful & the seats are old. I only paid the surcharge because I was under the impression this theater had new seats. So no alcohol or decent food & old seats, my family won't be returning to this location.

  • Nicole Dawson

Regal should be ashamed of themselves. IMAX is supposed to be a premium movie experience. Yet, the seating makes it feel like a coach flight on a budget airline... I don't need reclining seats. But I DO need legroom. And at IMAX prices, it should be a given. I will not be returning unless they improve the moviegoer experience.

  • Averi Pickop

Everything is good (service and snacks) BUT the seating and smell…. It’s awful. I’m pretty disappointed that we spent the SAME amount of money and got less. We typically go to Regal Westgate (I highly recommend this theater) and are never disappointed. Please consider updating theater seating… and work on the musty smell ….

  • Martin Thomas

This theater could make so much more money if there was more space in the between the rows of seats. If the theater is full, it's too cramped to move past other people to get (back) to the concession stands. BEWARE: This theater uses low wattage projector bulbs, so the movie you go to see will likely look dark and cloudy.

  • Sam

Went to watch 3D imax. Seating was old and very uncomfortable and everything else was old (including restrooms, the front counter, the carpet had a weird smell too). The screen wasn't the typical imax screen and the brightness was low. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go unless if you wanted to experience 90s Cinema setting.

Wow, being retired has some odd benefits. Like a private (or nearly) showing of the talking heads. The ticket taker and food people were very nice. There was one person who lined up behind me at the food stand, so the place isn't empty but with 5+ screens, there is a good chance I'll still be there in a private showing.

We arrived late to our movie and my kids wanted a specialty item (prezels). They gave me an estimated wait time on them and when I came back for them, not only did they remember me, they already had everything ready so I could get back to the movie. The seats were good and the theaters were very clean as well.

  • Ben Lesh

The worst movie expressive I've ever had. The screen was stained. The $7 hotdog had a stale bun. The movie cut out half way through and when it came back on, there was no audio. I'm currently waiting in a line 20 people deep to get a refund for 7 people. I wish I could get a tribe for the food too.

As I innocently entered to see a good flick, I was alone for noon showing, I was the only one their, but their security guard, stopped me for nothing, an made me open my back pack to examine all my contents, oh no I don't drink! Had my phone recorded that one, where's my go pro 360 HD body camera?

  • Abby Fisher

If you're coming here for IMAX, don't. It's half the size of the bob bullock screen and $5 more expensive. Popcorn was too salty to eat. Biggest movie weekend of the summer and they're sold out of almost all candy and beer which I get, but make an HEB run, y'all could be printing money.

  • PJ

A poor execution of comfort with entertainment venue. There needs to be some effort put in by this franchise to elevate the seating experience for their audience. Am afraid people are there for getting a fantastic experience but exit with a very poor one instead. Thats a shame!

  • Claudia Penney

Plenty of different theaters to watch the movie you want. Door greeter was super friendly and took care of us. Snack bar personnel was alright, a little slow and of course the prices are ridiculously high for some popcorn and soda. All in all would go again but skip on snacks!

  • Arnav Myana

I love this theater and come to it a lot but I had a terrible experience the other day that made me never want to come back. One of the employees was entirely rude and horrible to me and treated me absolutely terrible for no reason, making me never want to go back ever.

  • Steven Terry

If they reduced the volume by half, it would still be WAY too loud. Prepare to watch a full 30 minutes of commercials before the movie starts. Oh, and it's overpriced too. Their IMAX is really just a "mini" IMAX. This is just my opinion. Your experience may vary.

  • Susan Gardner

Refreshments were real good, employees friendly & helpful. The seats were weird. Very low to the ground. You had to hold a seat down with one hand (or it would bounce back up), while balancing your popcorn and drink at the same time with the other hand. …

  • Elise Krentzel

This is one of the larger theaters in town and has popular showings. You won’t find too many indie or foreign films here, just the blockbusters. The theaters’ seats are comfy and there’s a good concession. Their popcorn is fresh but they don’t use real butter.

  • Arthur

Apparently, small popcorn for $8+ does not have free refills. Nothing on the kiosk clearly says this, and staff was unhelpful when refill was requested. Only large popcorn allows free refills for $10. Recommend this option or skipping this theater altogether.

  • Call me Mel

Watched new Spider man movie at the IMAX. It was fun, the popcorn was good and soda cold. The seats were close to each other and wasn't a lot of room for people coming through to the seats. The sound was loud, I suggest bringing ear plugs if you're sensitive.

  • Aanchal Gupta

Decent movie screen seating was so uncomfortable, prices are fine looks good from outside. Kind of dirty and popcorn was burnt may be m not going to order them again. It’s so near to my place so definitely visit it again otherwise will visit other cinema.

  • Brooklyn S

Service and workers are nice here, unfortunately the imax theater we were seated has seats close together and small. Hardly space between people and hardly leg room. Felt liked a packed sardine or on a airplane. Probably just gonna stick with cinemark.

  • Sandeep M

This movie theater should be closed. Stinking carpet smell in the theater, seats are uncomfortable and audio is very bad. Please upgrade the theater or close it for good. I have wasted $18 (IMAX) better to watch movie in home rather than going here.

  • Nakeia Calvert

My 1st 4D film experience and must say it is a great way to watch a big movie release. The seats move and shake with the film, the seats also have a water spray affect and flashing lights. The theater looks fresh and clean and the lines move fast.

  • Kyle Johnson

This theater was incredible when it opened probably close to two decades ago. In recent years it has gone downhill. Several seats were broken in our theater and the movie projector itself had a blue tint over more than 1/3 of the movie screen.

  • Luciano Casillas

Longs are extremely long for concessions. They need to implement something different for when they're busy. Rows between seats are too narrow compared to other Regal theaters. Will only see special events and stick to my preferred location.

  • Xenia Hoover

Had a great time with the family at Regal Cinema Gateway...Carlos the manager took great care of us, the concession stand attendees were fast and courteous, amazing atmosphere as well as clean! Definitely a place to see the movie of choice!

  • Drupad Yalamanchili

One of the oldest theaters in the area. The queues at concessions take forever and had to miss the beginning of the movie for it. Seats are very old and torn out in places. Overall not a good experience and would not recommend this theatre

  • Brian McCray

The sound and picture quality seem to be up to date. However, the lack of modern/updated amenities such as leather reclining chairs and more leg room definitely take away from the premier movie experience you would expect these days.

  • Ashley

Theater 7 is very loud went to ask the members at the front if they can turn down the volume they turned away and didn’t state a resolution. Other than that the young female who gave us our tickets was very friendly and responsive.

  • Carlos Kea

Meg 4dx was a game changer! The moving seat that is in sync with movie, along with simulated environment like water squirts, wind etc blew my mind. Worth the money in my opinion. A small can’t do it, it would throw them.

  • Pedro-Alcario Garcia

Love that this theatre offers 4DX. Now choose carefully as most movies will not offer the true experience. I've seen Top Gun: Maverick and Gran Turismo in this and loved every shaking, windy, elemental moment.

  • Sabrina Minka

Use to go here about 17 years back, it's like they have done 0 upkeep same chairs the fabric smells yucky and is sticky. The carpet is in a desperate need of a clean. It used to be the nicest theater around.

  • Ruben Ramirez

Concession stand employee was extremely rude. I had asked simple questions such as what they had on their nachos and what fountain drinks they had. She gave me rude responses as if I was a complete idiot.

  • Lea Woodard

This was my first show at the Regal Gateway, and if all the theaters have the same seating, I won't be back. My back was hurting by the time the movie was halfway over, and I didn't have enough leg room.

  • Mike B

Screen and sound quality were good. Sightlines are ok. Common areas seem to be well maintained. Seats were comfortable but need to be replaced. Many of the seats in screen 7 were torn and stained.

  • Beatriz Garcia

We had to wait 1-2 days to actually come and see a particularly movie but we did see it, They were very nice to the point that they gave us 2 extra tickets to go back and see one other movie

  • Diane Lee

Why am I paying 13.50 for a ticket when my seats don’t even extend out? Came to this theatre as a last resort. “Regal” is a joke. At least make the seats comfy and the rooms a little cooler!

  • Ramana S

Nice ambience BUT Worst seating experience, Feels like you are in a flight with no leg room. Audio experience is also not good. Not sure if it is with this particular screen or all screens

  • Jj Osorio

Watched mission impossible! Sound quality was amazing!! Very loud. The overall appearance of theater is alittle outdated. Seats do not recline so thats a bummer. Movie was great though!

  • Wendy Parada

I just wanted to say if anyone is wanting to go see the new Avatar movie I definitely recommend watching it in 4D it was such a unique amazing experience. I loved every second of it. ❤️

  • Greyson Scheffer

Saw Oppenheimer and napoleon in inax here and both were a great experience.. only complaint is long lines at the front and they only use 1 popcorn machine so it goes super slow.

  • Sandra F

Clean place, but too many ads before the actual movie started. Kind of funny my husband and I were the only ones watching the movie (Meg2). We had the whole movie to ourselves.

  • H

No reclining seats, more expensive than other theaters, Pepsi only prodics (Yuck!), Low resolution screens, washed out color, barely there audio. Will never come here again!

  • Sarah Teng

Great hometown theater!! I’ve been going here for almost my entire life now, and it’s always reliable. Always clean, nice employees, great popcorn, and just a good time :)

  • Kathryn Kalinowski

Lights came on in the middle of the movie for 5 mins, customers were allowed to talk and text the whole time. Do yourself a favor and go to Alamo where they actually care.

  • Brian Nelligan

I saw John Wick 4 here recently and the volume was so low. I keep the volume louder in my living room. Also, there was a black spot either on the projector or the screen.

  • Gladys Chandler

Its kind of hidden in this huge outdoor mall. There's plenty of parking and staff was very friendly and helpful. It was my first time to this Regal theater.

  • Ortencia Rosales

Theater is very clean. They have very comfy seats! I love their popcorn. It is the I have had in a really long time. The popcorn is very fresh and crisp.

  • Vidya Nayak

Went to see the Barbie movie and found a lovely surprise in between the seats; an apple core! I didn’t know free snacks came with the movie

  • Alan Cabrera

Our film was in theater #4. I don't know how we sat through the nasty smell. The seats all looked dirty and outdated. Go somewhere else!

  • William Sandoval

Place was great but the gentleman that scanned my tickets was very rude and unhelpful in where telling me what theater I need to go to.

  • sleep well. band

very very dim projections and low fidelity sound. might as well have been watching on my phone on its lowest brightness setting …
