Appalling customer service. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I had a loved one pass away very recently who’s last wishes were to have the gold crowns on their teeth removed prior to cremation. I was calling around, inquiring to see if anyone knew of a dentist who performed these services. When I called River View to ask if they knew of a dentist, the woman who answered the phone was one of the rudest most insensitive persons I have ever spoken to. She told me they don’t do that, that I was desecrating a body, that my loved one should have done this while they were alive! And that they should have set this up before they died. My loved one died suddenly a week prior. All she had to say was we don’t know of anyone who provides those services. Simple as that. Instead she went on a judgmental tirade against me and my deceased loved one at an incredibly painful time. Absolutely abhorrent behavior.

The entire team of Riverview was amazing but I have to specifically thank Angelica, Gordy and Jillian. From start to finish, the all of our thoughts and opinions were considered. The team was patient as we dealt with finances…we didn’t come up with the money til the last minute but the Riverview team didn’t miss a beat! They explained every detail and went above and beyond!! We sent my father off with honor. We couldn’t have done it without Riverview. We thank you and God bless!

Gary Sands at the funeral home has been my first contact, when losing a family member. He is kind, efficient and thorough in explaining the process. Laurel Carrasco was extremely sensitive and helpful in planning for the cemetery arrangements. The process was so seamless, my husband and I proceeded to make our own arrangements with Riverview Cemetery and Funeral Home for ourselves. Our children will thank us for making a difficult time a bit easier, when that time comes.

This is a remarkable cemetery. My entire family is buried here as well as me when that time comes. The staff has always gone out of their way for our family in the past 50 years plus. Everything was well thought out, personal, and extra care given. Even when I come to visit the staff is kind and goes out of their way. You won’t find a better Portland based cemetery like this one. It is beautifully landscaped and well groomed and taken care of.

I worked as a funeral director for 18+ years at Holman’s Funeral Service in SE Portland so I am comfortable saying that I would without doubt trust River View with caring for your needs. I’m aware that businesses change which alters the service they provide. I was fortunate enough to serve many fine Portland families...and I know and trust the personnel of River View will serve greatly.

Gordy Reece and the Riverview team were professional, kind and caring. When an unprecedented snow storm delayed dad’s funeral plans for us out-of-towners, Mr. Reece was a welcome guide communicating about all of the necessary arrangements including an obit, flowers, memorial folders and even arranged a live-stream of the rescheduled service and burial.

River View Cemetery Funeral Home was the best choice the family could have made, Monica took care of all our business concerns and Dorian all of the arrangements for the funeral and internment. We are so grateful for their compassion, professionalism and assistance and would recommend their services to everyone.
