The whole family is just down to earth good people! Vinnie is the one who brings love to everyone that enters in, Ray is the man who has the dry sense of humor, Pop is the brains of the outfit, Mama rules the roost from behind the scenes, Sister helps out when really needed, Uncle takes care of the time consuming issues. Their crew behind the scenes are phenomenal!!! This store is THE BEST IN THE WHOLE METRO AREA. I won't go anywhere else. You need it? They have it or can get it. Just aren't words to say how GREAT THIS little store is and it's all because of the best team in the whole city. Try them, guaranteed you'll be back!!!

Excellent liquor store and no comparison to the ABC stores. Why? Because S & R liquors have the really good, hard to find selections that ABC can only dream to have on their shelves. The prices were extremely fair as well. The periodic tastings they have are remarkable too. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, as they can suggest a spirit based on your described tastes, and they are spot on! I'd highly recommend this place as it is and will continue to be my go to place for high quality liquor. Thanks S & R...keep doing what you do!

The owners provide amazing service and are very knowledgeable. They are also very nice and don't make you feel pressured to buy anything. Given the level of service it could be an expensive place, but the prices are not bad at all, some items are very competitively priced. Also, they have a huge selection. So if you want to get something that is hard to find then this is the place. One of the owners even said he would order something if they don't carry it. Definitely check this place out and support a fantastic local DC business.

i wouldn’t even call this a liquor store. it’s a store that sells an experience by the libation connoisseurs, Ray & Vinnie. their energy is infectious and their knowledge of wine and liquors is impeccable! not only have they suggested great wines that’ll pair well with food; they’ve also gotten me out of trouble with my lady quicker with their selections from the tastings that they hold weekly to the energy and culture of the store, there’s nothing not to love. i love whenever i’m able to visit!

I rarely drink, and when I do it's usually just beer. However, I went in for margarita ingredients with no knowledge of tequila. I left 30 minutes later with everything I needed and a better understanding of the differences between the different types of tequila. I received 20 minutes of one-on-one knowledgeable explanation with tastes to determine the sophistication of my tongue. They provide service that can't be beat. I will be back the next time I need anything alcoholic.

Best, best, best liquor store. I live in Virginia and selection is limited... Damn ABC! I went to S&R and found one of my favorite bourbons, Breckenridge, at a price that was very reasonable. Also, urged me to try a sample of Rock Hill, aged in solera casks, delicious. How could I resist? Folks there are so helpful and selection is wonderful. Definitely worth the trip!

We stopped by here on our way home while we had friends in town to grab some supplies for cocktail night. Not only was the selection great but Ray chatted with us and helped us celebrate our friend being cancer free! It was a bright spot of the day with just some fun human kindness. Thanks ray! Amazing! These guys went out of their way to help me find a special and very hard to find gift for a friend. Responded quickly to emails, held the gift aside for me (although it was in high demand) and were super kind and friendly when I got to the store. Great local business. S&R Wine and Liquor not only has the best prices and selection, the owners work their butts off to make sure you are happy and informed. This type of service is a rare find. I would give them higher rating if I could, because I now model my customer service after theirs. I especially recommend for high end gifts.

One of the best stores in DC in my opinion. The super friendly and inviting staff is extremely knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge and stories with you to get you the bottle you want. It's a MUST to stop into S&R whenever I'm in town. They have literally everything! They have items that cannot be found in many other places. Ray and Vinnie are always welcoming and accommodating! About 3 weeks ago we had a gathering for 70 people at the Eisenhower Building which is part of the White House. The folks from S&R Liquor did an outstanding job with responding to our emails quickly, recommending wines and delivering. Very professional. Would recommend them to anyone!

Excellent selection with fantastic customer service but..... the prices are on the high side. From a whiskey perspective, whoever is doing the ordering understands what the enthusiasts want. If the prices were 10 to 15% lower, it would easily be a 5 star establishment.

After checking once for a particular wine I had previously seen in this store, they didn't have any of It and told me to check back for restock in about 5 days. I did, but they still didn't have it! Very disappointing.

Best Whisky store I've ever been to. Great selection (including Sprinbank) and great staff (especially Vinnie). A bit expensive but the service and experience definitely worth the extra few bucks.
