This is generally a great place to catch a movie. Every attendant is friendly and welcoming in the concessions area. I love the comfortable seating and the costumes they have on display. The costumes change periodically and I've never seen the same one twice. I enjoy when they bring back classic films they will show inbetween new releases. Only a few cons: •The back area of the theater on first floor can get warm. •The box office staff are at times friendly, but more often than not their disposition comes across as disinterested and lack of customer service. The staff inside, however, are always friendly and welcoming. •Last move we went to, they let in a couple over an hour into the movie. This couple talked constantly and their phone rang multiple times. I'd recommend the theater stop letting people in so late. This was the first time I've had this at Cinerama.

My favorite theater in Seattle. Tickets prices may be a bit higher (around $18) but for a lot of movies I think it’s worth it for the experience, especially films being shown in 70mm. Seats are reserved and while they aren’t the fully-reclining seats that theaters like the downtown Regal have, they are plush and comfortable. The way the seats are arranged it’s actually not a bad experience sitting in or near the front. I usually try and get a seat around row H or so, center. Balcony seats are okay as well, there aren’t really any bad seats in the house. I love all of the custom programming that they do throughout the year, and I have seen a lot of great classics in 70mm that way like 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Thing. Their sci-fi and horror fests are especially good. The concessions are amazing. Be sure and try the chocolate popcorn, it’s so good!

Fantastic as always. We watched vertigo in the 70mm series, and also hope to see Top Gun and Ghostbusters this year. Gone for several years just love the 70 mm. Can't beat the mixed regular and chocolate popcorn. Love the seats that partially recline. Always a great experience here. This time I'm in a foot cast and knee scooter so booked the disabled companion seats for myself and my husband, which are a little bit on the outside instead of the middle but still a great view ..... within 10 minutes I forgot I was at the side of the theater instead of the center. Easy navigation with the elevator, and there's a restroom on the same floor as your seats or on the lobby Floor 2. Parking: we usually park in the Warwick Hotel which is half block away but this time we actually found parking on the street. Easy.

This is the only place to see a film in Seattle. The comfortable seats, beautiful laser projection and stunning sound system are topped only by the people who run the place and the delectable concession choices. The chocolate and butter popcorn mix is a must and other options range far beyond your normal cineplex options. Check out the display cases in the lobby for a rotating collection of incredible movie and TV memorabilia. I recommend using the website to secure your tickets ahead of a showing but the box office out front is quick and easy as well. With only one screen the selection is limited but check the schedule often for new additions and special runs of 70mm showings.

Get the chocolate popcorn. Get the chocolate popcorn!! Get. The. Chocolate. Popcorn. Also this is pretty much the best place to see a movie in Seattle. The Science Center MIGHT be better, but this is still way up there. The picture is huge and beautiful, the sound is incredible and comes from everywhere, and the seats are... Actually, I think the seats weren't that great. They reclined a bit too far and it was all based on your back pressure, so you can't really just lean back on it comfortably. Either way, see a movie here, get the chocolate popcorn, thank me later.

This is a great theater to see a movie. The lobby is spacious and is decorated with movie props from Paul Allen's collection. The snack bar offers a pretty varied selection (including beer!) and my favorite, the chocolate covered popcorn! The recent renovation of the theater itself really shows. The leather reclining seats are very comfortable and the leg room is generous. The sound system is Dolby ATMOS certified and is amazing. And, of course, who can argue with the 70mm screen? This is one of the iconic landmarks in Seattle and well worth a visit!

  • Isaiah Huntington

Hands down the best theater I have ever been to. The seats are incredible, they are super comfortable and have plenty of legroom. The screen is massive, one of the biggest I've ever seen and the picture is breathtaking. The sound is also super loud but doesn't hurt. What I appreciate most about the theater is how balanced everything is. The brightness of the screen never hurt my eyes, the sound never hurt my ears, and the seats never felt uncomfortable. Tickets are expensive but totally worth the price if you want the best cinema experience.

I visited Cinerama in Seattle for the first time and watched LaLaLand. The whole experience couldn't have been better a retro movie theater and an old fashioned Musical!!! A perfect match. The concept of choosing your assigned seats is not as common in the US as it is in other countries a very welcomed choice in this theater that is lovely, clean, well managed good choice of movies, comfort, memorabilia and the smell of the chocolate popcorn was heavenly. It adds another dimension to the whole experience. I loved every moment

  • Matthew Keasling

The screen is nice and the chocolate popcorn is, of course, lovely. However, the place is losing some of its luster. The chairs are rather uncomfortable. And, worst of all, they've started playing commercials (not just trailers) before the show. This theater used to be special because it didn't bombard you with ads, things were in good repair, etc. But now they're pretty much just like every other theater in town. Unless you're just really craving chocolate popcorn, I really don't see why it'd be worth choosing this theater over any other.

  • Patty Spradling

Great theater! As you walk in it smells like fresh baked cookies because they have chocolate popcorn! Place is clean and appealing to the eye. They had original costumes on display from movies which were very cool. A local told us they switch them out occasionally. If you sit on the balcony it's a few flights of stairs so use the bathroom prior . Our seats were comfy. Seemed like a school or some children's group was there but on balcony we really didn't take away from the movie since they were on bottom level, which was great for us.

  • J D

By my estimation, there is no better theater. Comfortable seats, ultra clean environment, pristine futuristic bathrooms that play the audio of the movie you're missing, and museum quality displays of movie memorabilia. Great popcorn in two different flavors, and even not too pricey. Very likely the best projected screen currently available. Beer and wine available, homemade cookies, leather lobby seats. If there is a thing about this theater that can be improved, I don't know about it. Seems to be a labor of love rather than a business.

  • Alma L

Went to the premiere of Ready Player One and it was such a great time! We hadn't been yet and my mom really wanted to see the movie so it was a really fun experience. The chocolate covered popcorn is addicting and so worth the money! They have costumes on display from different movies and they're on a rotation so you don't always see the same ones every visit. The screen is huge but even at some of the closer seats the view is still phenomenal and the sound system booms without sounding strained. Will have to make a trip back asap!

  • Sara G

Just can't beat this place. Reserved seats that are super comfortable, great concessions, and the video and audio quality are top notch. They even pipe the audio into the lobby and restrooms so you can at least kind of follow along if you need to step out. Tickets are barely more expensive than AMC; we don't go to the movies often so it's worth it to get best experience we can. My only complaint is the concession area is way too small. It turns into mass chaos and it makes it frustrating to get food/drinks before the movie starts.

  • Garrett N.

Best spot in town to catch the latest flick or to see a classic. The screen is huge and the sound system is top notch so there isn’t really a bad seat in the house. You can choose you seat ahead of time, so no need to get there early or worry about sitting together with friends. The other big star here is the chocolate popcorn. You can smell this treat from the street and the Cinerama lets you purchase the popcorn even if you aren’t there for a movie. Make sure to give it a try or one of the other great local treats on site.

  • Daniel

My wife and I have seen a few movies at the Cinerama and it really is the best theater to see the large blockbuster type of movies. We're very lucky to have the Cinerama within driving distance and so it's a treat when we can watch a movie. Most recently we watched Infinity War and it was as good as one can expect. I really think what sets it apart from other theaters in the area is the concession stands. You can choose from local craft beers, wines and the best theater popcorn west of the Mississippi!

  • Jonathan Henriksen

This is the best theater in Seattle and it's typically showing the big geeky movie of the moment. It only shows one movie at a time. The screen is big, the digital projector is great, their 70mm projector is great, and the Dolby Atmos sound system is great. The lobby often has actual costumes from classic movies on display. The mixed butter and chocolate popcorn is the best popcorn I've ever had in a theater. Be sure to purchase your tickets early do you can reserve good seats for you and your friends.

  • David Inglish

If you're looking for a nice, inexpensive, family and drink friendly theatre, this is your place. Lots of seating, some good snacks you won't find elsewhere (like mixed Theo chocolate and buttered popcorn. Think cocoa pebbles and popcorn). The drawbacks: buy tickets in advance, expect not a lot of turnover on movies, don't carry their small drink cups and other items unless you like wearing your purchases, and don't sit past row "M". Overall, a nice feel, and worth every penny.

  • Kit Fox

I love this theater. It's definitely the nicest downtown. Huge screen and theater which was recently remodeled. Because there's only one theater it books up very fast, so reserve your seats early (you reserve individual seats - which is nice). Comfortable chairs, and you can get beer and wine which they'll let you take in the theater with you. Plus, chocolate popcorn is an option, which I'm not a fan of but everyone else seems to love.

  • Robert Hughes

Not as epic as they claim to be. But still good. Chairs are comfortable but the seat backs have no control and you're forced to go back all the way even if you don't want to. The chair arms are too thin/small so it's impossible to share with your neighbor well. Mixed chocolate and butter Popcorn is great. Bathrooms should be updated. Might have been epic about 10 years ago, but not now compared to the other theaters these days.

  • Jacqueline Schindele

I was turned off by the idea of assigned seats, but now I wish more theaters had it. I made sure that on the opening night of a movie, my entire group was sitting together. The seats are massive, walkways between rows are substantial, and there is no such thing as a bad seat, even if you're in the back! The chocolate popcorn smells amazing but is too much for my taste. I also love that they have concessions from local shops.

  • Thabata Regiani

This is the best movie theater in Seattle - at least that I know of. The seats are comfortable, the place is very clean, the sound system is amazing, and I could dedicate an entire review just for the chocolate popcorn. Yes, it is only one theater, but if you are interested in any of the movies they are playing, it is worth the ticket to come see it here. It is also easy to choose and purchase seats online.

  • Jesse G

Best. Theatre. Ever. I love this place for a lot of reasons. Their popcorn is one. Beer on tap is another. Only one movie screen is another. The staff is friendly, four. Excellent projection system and image quality, five. Super comfy seats, six. Check it out if you can. Tickets are either at the door or buy in advance. You can pick your seat if you buy in advance. I'm not sure about at the ticket window.

  • Chris Davis

Totally amazing theater. Great quality projection, tasteful sound, comfy chairs, assigned seats makes it easy. The lobby has costumes from various films that rotate on a regular basis. They serve beer and have chocolate popcorn that is just amazing. We tend to eat out at a restaurant downtown before a movie and they've never given us a hard time about bringing in our leftovers or water bottles. So legit.

  • Morgan Beldonmeyer

Yes, it will cost you more than a regular movie ticket but it is so worth it. Incredible sound system, epic screen, comfy chairs, and delicious chocolate popcorn (pro-tip: order half choco/half regular for the perfect balance of salty and sweet). Also the displays of costumes from historic movies are always awesome. If there's ever a movie you're really excited to see, this is the place to see it.

  • Robert Newcomer-Dyer

It's been probably 15 years since I was last here. The seats are comfortable, plenty of legroom, and the screen and sound seemed fine to me. An extra bonus is the chocolate popcorn. Why don't more movie theaters do this? My tip to you, order half chocolate, half butter. I might even ask for 2/3 of the half and half and 1/3 of the butter, just because I'm more of a salty than a sweet person.

  • Hanna

Super awesome theater! Second deck on top. Good view of the screen from almost anywhere. Theater smells delicious, like most theaters, but this one has CHOCOLATE popcorn! Everytime I walk by, I want some. Anyway, the theater is great, the sound is great, the seating is great and comfortable. Reserved seating. The seats can lean back, but they are not recliners with foot rests.

  • Jesse Gloe

Greats seats with great legroom. Chocolate popcorn isn't really my thing but the mixed (chocolate and regular/buttered) popcorn was pretty good. Caught a 3D movie, and the both sound and picture were superb. I'd say my only gripe is the bathrooms are fairly small for a theater that frequently has hundreds of attendees, but is that enough to take away a star? I don't think so.

  • Bobby Young

This theater is amazing. I love how you can reserve a seat, great concessions big screen, comfy chairs and great audio. What more could you want. The lines can be a little long for concessions, cause they are so good, but they usually move pretty quickly. It's heavy on the local stuff. Oh yeah and almost for forgot to mention you can buy beer and take it back to your seat.

  • Brian Zumsteg

Love this place and about the only place I'll see a movie. The chocolate popcorn puts it over the top. The screen is great, seats wonderful, audio is top notch, and the projector is cutting edge. I am a little worried about what will happen to the place now that Paul is gone, but time will tell. For now go online, pic seats in the center of row H or I and enjoy the movie.

  • Erika Falls

Pretty nice theater, I loved the smell of chocolate chip cookies when I went in. This was my first time in the theater and I had gotten balcony seats pretty much in the very center of it. I felt like I was watching the top half of the screen the entire time. Still was not bad, I just would get something in the first two rows or something down on the main floor next time.

  • Griffin Wesler

Finally caught the new Star Wars here. One of my better theater experiences in a long time. Had great seats because you can reserve ahead of time. Chocolate popcorn is tasty as billed. Screen was bright and super sharp (can't believe that some places really struggle with this) Sound was tight and spot on. Definitely coming back here again. Thank you Paul Allen.

  • Richard W.

Nice theatre. Tasty treats. I gotta say, I was shocked when my girlfriend bought popcorn... It had chocolate. Chocolate popcorn? That is so cool. I've never been to a theatre that had chocolate popcorn. Clean building, clean theatre. Looks well managed. Bathrooms are nice and clean also. Seats are comfy and this isn't a cheap , tacky theatre... It's very nice!

  • Dan Leahy

Easily one of the best movie theaters around. The chocolate popcorn is delicious, even though it sounds unusual. There is only one screen and tickets are expensive, but the experience is well worth it. Seats are comfortable and you select your seat when you buy your ticket. Theater uses Dolby Atmos for audio and it sounds amazing. Great theater all around.

  • Kat V.

If you haven't been here yet, go there now. The chocolate popcorn is awesome, though it does smell like Coco Puffs just in case that's a turn off for you. They give me soda water for free in a real cup, which I appreciate. They also have rotating movie costumes on display and serve alcohol. This place will always be my first choice for movie theaters!

  • Holly Brice

Cinerama is great because the seats are larger than normal movie theatre seats, they recline well. They have popcorn in different flavors, such as chocolate covered popcorn that you can get mixed in with the normal popcorn, it's very good. They serve beer and wine, and seats are reservable so you don't have to worry about showing up way in advance!

  • Ankit Amin

Very cool movie going experience. The chocolate popcorn is interesting but if you can't stand eating chocolate flavored cereal without milk then don't bother trying it. The seats are pretty comfortable and the balcony seats make you feel like you are at a play. The screen is massive and seeing a movie on 70mm film is worth coming here even once.

  • Camila Matamala-Ost

Amazing sound, amazing image quality. And you HAVE to try the chocolate popcorn. Do t get the mix. Get the straight up chocolate. Event though prime seats sell out quickly here, most of the seats in the theater are pretty good. So go even if you think your seats aren’t very good. It’s just a well built theater where every seat has a good view.

  • Kyle Avalani

Very cool and immersive theater experience!! The screen is excellent and the seats are quite comfortable. The sound system sounded incredible, I watched Ready Player One and it was fantastic. The bathrooms also have a speaker in them, hooked up to the movie, so you can still hear what's going on during! Very convenient. No complaints from me!

  • Lucas Kelleher

The extra large screen at Cinerama is cool, but it's their insanely precise sound system that impresses most. Concessions are actually worth buying too, as their signature chocolate popcorn is incredible...and perhaps a little too delicious. Reserve a seat in the balcony, grab a beer right before showtime, and enjoy a very nice time indeed.

  • t1ff C

I mean, things are costly in Seattle. Cinerama is no different, but at least I feel like it's a good worthy experience. Thanks for having hot tea, chocolate popcorn, decently comfortable seating, big screen with good specs, and good audio. Though I will say, balcony seating isn't bad but the speakers truly don't service that floor too well.

  • Kristina Scholtz

Amazing theater. Admission price was high but the snacks were not. Weird Right? Beer and wine available. Yum. Had the chocolate covered popcorn. Why isn't this a thing? Never had that before. They also serve cupcakes, Ice scream and other non movie treats.loved it. Assigned comfy seating..couches available as well. Simple wonderful

  • Larry oberto

Comfortable, reserved seats, best screen, ,killer sound, comfortable seats. Lost some charm in last couple of years seems more corporate and less a place of movie lovers who operate it. Still has 70'mm screen tucked away but for some reason it has been forgotten by management. Almost makes me want to dock it one more star.

  • Jevon

This is our favorite theater ever. Large, comfortable, reserved seats. Good sight lines. Amazing picture and sound. And the popcorn! Mix of regular and chocolate dusted is the best. So good that we've bought popcorn without seeing a movie and taken it home. Pro tip: between showtimes is ideal for the popcorn-only visit.

  • dan ervin

The staff are patient even with huge crowds, the diffrent flavors of popcorn are great and the sound system is well balanced(to me). Haven't left those concessions without a topped off beverage yet (great pours). The popcorn is better than Regal, so theres that. The display case with cool costumes is also a nice touch.

  • Brandon Crews

Love the renovation, the mural and the chocolate popcorn is a MUST TRY! You can enter just to buy the popcorn without a ticket to the movies and yes it's worth it! Love they still support 70mm film playback as well as digital. My only regret was we weren't there when they had a movie I wanted to see. Someday perhaps.

  • Rahul Dodhia

Decent big screen, good sounds system. Overpriced, though. Seats are great for wide posteriors, but kind of uncomfortable unless you lean back all the way or don't lean at all. The midway leaning never works. Lobby is ugly, but they pipe in a great chocolate scent. Popcorn is so-so, but they have beer and good tea.

  • John Murphy

So... review coming. But it is now SIFF owned. So **THE** best theater to see ANY show in Seattle. Remember, this is a hand tuned Dolby "Atmos" system. I was there for the install, they spent several weeks listening and adjusting. There is no movie house on the planet with as nice of sound as the SIFF Cinerama.

  • Michael Petrone

Retro experience - you must get the chocolate popcorn - awesome! The place was clean and comfortable and respectful during the movie. They're a bit weird with buying 2x cups of wine at a time, you + for someone else. Makes them leave the movie to get their own cup (but without ID, they just ask your name).

  • Matt Mead

Great theater. Seats are comfortable and not really a bad seat in the house (besides the obvious super front row). Food options are solid, they've now added beer and of course the classic chocolate popcorn make it a good place to watch anything. Just unfortunate its too small to show more movies everyday

  • Bronson

One of the best movie going experiences in the city. The screen is great, the seats are comfortable, and the chocolate popcorn rocks. Maybe best of all are the numerous and varied film series they put on during the year, giving folks an opportunity to see a wide array of movies on the big screen.

  • Thomas Young

Excellent theater. They only have one screen but it is glorious. The concessions include chocolate covered popcorn they make in house and the smell permeates the entire building. They taste pretty darn good too. Ultimately great movie going experience. Would recommend as a place to take a date.

  • Skyler Murray

The full reclining seats are very comfortable here as you watch your movie. The theater was clean and friendly service. They have pretty good chocolate covered popcorn and they will do a mix of regular and chocolate popcorn. I would probably go for a 3:1 mix next time instead of half and half.

  • Claudia Rot

I really badly wanted to visit a cinema in the USA and in and around Seattle there are many "old school" movie theaters. Ab-so-lutely loved it. First time I tried the Chocolate popcorn and it tasted awesome. However, this one was crazy expensive in my opinion, but wouldn't want to miss this!

  • Patricia Steinfeld

I love sitting in the lodge seats. When you walk in the smell of chocolate is amazing. And they have chocolate popcorn! Totally amazing. Pricey admission but the popcorn is worth it and not overly expensive. Plain, chocolate or mixed. Awesome sound. Huge screen. Dirty bathroom. …

  • Kari Ferolito

Nice movie theater that you can reserve your exact ticket in advance. I recommend not sitting in the back rows because they dont get all of the surround sound. The chocolate popcorn is AMAZING. I recommend getting half normal half chocolate! They do serve a few beers, ciders, and wine.

  • Eddie Hong

Great spot to take a date! They serve wine and hard cider and their mixed chocolate popcorn is dangerously addictive. Reserved seating so you don't need to queue up before the show! Great screen quality, lots of legroom, reclining seats, and adorable animated shorts before every show!

  • Sasha Joseph

Always a good venue to watch a movie. The seats are reserved so try to book early if you want a good seat. They have a rotating selection of beers, the popcorn is okay, and they have a fair amount of candy. The seating is comfortable and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

  • Doug Kinoshita

The ability to reserve seats is really great. Even if you are late you get the best seats assuming you reserve ahead of time. Fantastic snacks both sweet and savory are available with a warning on the chocolate regular popcorn mix.... You can't stop eating it!

  • Kahealani

Absolutely loved our experience here. Went for the first time to see the new live action Lion King and it was the perfect environment. Loved the comfy seats, chocolate popcorn, and the balcony seats. We will definitely be returning soon to see another film!

  • Chase Nunes

Always a great place to watch almost any movie! You can reserve the exact seat you want. My only minor complaint is some of the seats are showing some age with cracking and peeling. Other than that, this place is great and I can't wait to return again!

  • Carol Voelker

This theater is a wonderful experience, gorgeous house with comfy reclining chairs, sound and screen are amazing. Good could use a gluten free main dish addition but the fact you can buy a hard cider and chocolate popcorn already set it above others.

  • Sean Cenotto

Awesome theater with state of the art equipment. The seats are super comfortable and the popcorn is delicious, with or without the chocolate. The tickets can be a bit more expensive than average, but it is worth it to see a special movie here.

  • Lincoln Damerst

I love that the theater still has a bit of the early 60's styling after it's recent remodel. The movie watching experience is mostly fantastic with my only minor issue was a hum from one of the audio channels. Highly recommended.

  • Keri El

Amazing movie theater with the famous popcorn! The concession is great! :) The seats are upgraded so it's extra comfy. We love everything about this theater, but make sure you book your seats early so you get the seats you want.

  • R Li

Cool mega theater. It smells like brownies when you first walk in. They serve chocolate popcorn along with regular and their combo is not that expensive! Plenty of seating, high quality viewing. Highly recommend.

  • Michael Madden

I love this place. They halve great seats with good views. The chocolate popcorn is my favorite, not too sweet or thick. Good beer selection. Most of the seats give a good view, only downside is not great for 3D.

  • Kieu-Mai Velasquez

Whaaaaa This place is so quirky and amazing!! Trekkie moment: They have T’Pol’s original outfit. >.< The chocolate popcorn was mind blowing. I’m a chocoholic but was skeptical. I’m a believer. Go. Here. Now.

  • Stephanie Ball

Love being able to select my comfy seat! Veggie hot dog option at the snack bar, that chocolate popcorn, and who doesn't love watching movies with a beer? Tickets are pricey, but the experience is worth it.

  • Thomas Rubatino

A movie-going experience unlike any other. This theater takes cinema to the next level. The concessions are amazing. Nothing quite like seeing a movie in 70mm here.

  • Karsten

Recently renovated so that there are really no seats with bad sightlines. Interesting pieces of movie history on display in the lobby. Sharp screen and hood sound.

  • Jessica Turner

Best theater! Try the chocolate popcorn and don't forget to check out the costume exhibits. Make sure to buy your ticket online ahead of time, seating is reserved

  • L Davis (SG)

Watched Avengers Endgame and it was awesome! Spacious seats and u can recline a lite for your comfortable position. It also has large front space for your legs.

  • Ken

Good movie theater. They have costumes worn by famous actors, including a couple from the Adams Family. If you like chocolate popcorn this is your place.

  • Youying Lin

My favorite cinema in Seattle. Seats are spacious and comfortable. The huge factor that makes Cinerama my favorite is their delicious chocolate popcorn!

  • Cynthia Blondeel

They have the best chocolate popcorn you will ever taste. I love the reserved seating, no stress about getting a good seat. Go see a movie!

  • SmellsLikeMeltingPlastic

Pros: Great sound, big screen, comfortable reclining seats, chocolate popcorn. Cons: commuting by car sucks, only one screen.

  • Ashleigh Art

Really big cinema with comfortable seats and lots of leg room. Good variety of snacks as well.

  • Cody Severinski

Reserved seating is something all theatres should have. Try the (vegan)chocolate popcorn!

  • Chan (我的世界 - My world)

Love the classic theater, large and feel like back in time. Amazing smell of popcorn.
