I have a love/hate with this location. Inside is always great. with the new reno its very pleasing. Sadly the folks that hang out in the parking lot ruin a 5 star for me. In 2010 i was rushed by 4 vagrants and was saved by two passers by. Called the cops on that and two other occasions since then. Even the other day (google asked me to review since i was recently there) the other day i watched as someone was having some sort of breakdown calling anyone within 20 feet every name under the sun and the cart guy said they have to call the cops a few times a day. Life shouldn't be like that for anyone and i truly hope they find the help they need but at the same time i wish that Shopping at this location felt safer and a truly nice place for all.

This store is much too expensive for the same things you get at freshco, no frills, real Canadian & does not have a natural food section. Has some decent fresh meat options but can be questionable. They sell bread loafs & bagels/baked goods WITHOUT any ingredients listed which is ILLEGAL to do so. They may be in this case using cricket flour or bugs overall in them?... Because I've only noticed that the ingredients are not listed about a year now. I got some already made pasta from their food bar, it came to $25 FOR ONE LITTLE CONTAINER!!! COMPLETE RIP OFF. Save your money, time & health & go to a different grocery store.

Parking is okay I wish more cashier work as sometimes the 1 -2 lane line is crazy and staff walk around and leave the line long not jumping in to help actually there was only 2x when staff decided to help out and open up another cashier lane to serve everyone timely and that was it prices are outrageous alot of the time and only decent deals come on is when I prefer to go. Stores clean. Love the pharmacy too. Sometimes even the line gets long there too but u never wait long though which is great

The store is great. Has a great selection of products and the in-store bakery/Deli is awesome. The staff there have all been great so far, but the 5 stars is thanks to Shelly (sorry if I spelt your name incorrectly) whom works at the self-serve registers. We had the pleasure of meeting her on Sunday when checking out, she was SO nice, helpful and absolutely hilarious! She definitely left an impression on us haha! We're now making Safeway Montgomery as our go-to store from now on! Love your work!

I have been going to this Safeway for about 20 years. Always clean and friendly although I do find the regular pricing is a bit high. However, if you go enough to mainly buy the sale items, the pricing is very good. Today my son, daughter and I were helped by Shelley which is why I am writing this review. Shelley helped our family in the self check out and was so nice and so friendly to absolutely everyone there. She truly was a blessing to her family this morning. Thank you!

The Chinese girl at self checkout is so condescending and rude. I just had surgery 2 days prior I asked her if there were handheld scanners so I didn’t have to lift my items out multiple times and put them back in, she said “who helped you put them in your cart” I told her “I did and I’m not sure why that matters I CANT BE CONSTANTLY LIFTING” like I don’t know why she’s acting like I’m asking for a Godly favour we all need a little help sometimes. Why be so rude?

I have been going to this store for over a year,, But April 14 Friday 2023 will be my last stop at this location,The young black girl should understand customer service,, no matter who we are we are the ones paying your wages,, get your head out of the clouds and learn that everyone is equal in this world,, You should not be working around Humans,, your rude and just a selfish person,, Grow up,, and stop acting the world owes you a living

I had the greatest experience while shopping I needed assistance in finding items on my list in the bakery I was greeted by a very nice young lady Katrina she was so knowledgeable with the items and baking expertise it was so helpful as well I couldn't leave with out purchasing some Cinnamon buns Katrina was icing as I interrupted her from her work. Great job thanks so much!!! I will be a returning customer.

Well layed out store with lots of options for food. It was clean inside which I appreciated. I kept running into the same staff member who would ask me if I needed help every single time. It was very annoying and made me feel like she thought I was suspicious or something. I wasn't, I was just picking up groceries before an appointment I arrived too early for so was taking my sweet time.

Love this store & their staff. I live in west hillhurst & have closer access to their stores at Northhill, Kensington & 12 Ave SW, But, the Montgomery store is the best by a country mile. Its Clean & Organized as they all are, but the Staff make it 2nd to none. Friendly, outgoing, always smiling & willing to help. What more could you ask for in a store...Keep up the great work!...

Beautiful looking friendly neighborhood Safeway store that just finished renovations. Very well stocked store and extremely knowledgeable and very friendly staff members. They always go above and beyond the call of duty when helping their customers. All the specialty departments look absolutely amazing, I would recommend you come see this new modern looking store.

This is my favourite Safeway the staff is always so friendly especially at the self checkout. Fair pricing and great selection of dairy free items. I love the sandwich bar so much. Great fresh vegetable and great prices. It’s a hidden secret that everyone should check out. Beats subway hands down, no comparison.

The renovations make it such a beautiful improvement! Plus it’s the best place to score the new release Starbucks cups when they come out. Friendly and helpful staff and honestly one of the better pharmacies I’ve ever dealt with since coming to Calgary in the last four years.

Found what I needed quickly. Store is easy to navigate. I was hoping to find fresh blueberries for a potluck dessert, but at $5 a pint, I got frozen instead. I used the self check which I like when getting just a few items, I'm not a people person so it suits me.

The staff are friendly, good selection of store products that are well displayed and the prices are competitive. With a in store Starbucks and pharmacy it's a great stop spot to hit before heading out of town to visit spots such as Canmore or Banff.

The store is organized and clean. Item placement seems off compared to American Safeways, so you just need to go down every aisle. Also separate brands compared to the states, so that takes a little bit of figuring out. Overall a nice grocery store.

Dont buy your ground beef here. They package regular ground beef as EXTRA lean ground beef. Tons of fat and water i poured out a solid 2 cups prior to the picture and still more, wasted a solid 20$ i should of went elsewhere to grab a pack of G.Beef

Much nicer experience at this Safeway since the renovation. Service is friendly. Taking away a star as a number of the vegan options we were purchasing have disappeared from the shelves or or not in stock when we go in. Please bring back Violife!

An overall good Safeway for selection but they never have many cashiers. The price of some items like eggs and chicken are pretty absurd. Not sure why they allow to carry eggs from companies that are deliberately price gouging.

This is a scenic location near the Bow River. The store was clean and brightly lit. The shelves were well stocked with merchandise. Cashier was polite and courteous, asking me if I found everything and wishing me a good day.

I needed help exchanging an item and the staff and management were very friendly and accommodating. Not all Christmas gifts are objects, the great customer service I received this morning was like an early gift. Thank You!

The lady server in the food section definitely needs some customer skill training. No smile and too busy to help. Can't do closed off attitude . The duty manager had to intervene and ask her to assist me.

All the workers in anybody I have met down at this new Safeway so I just moved down here are amazing friendly and great everybody in this community his friendly I should have moved here a long time ago

I use to shop here alot. Between the air miles even though they ditched them and the crazy prices I've found new places . Staffs always good Shelves are always stocked But the prices guys Wowzers

Place is clean and stocked well. But as with all grocery stores there still price gouging. Coffee I get here is $15-17 a bag whereas Amazon has it for $7-8 Wish the greed would come to an end.

Worst Chinese Food from their deli. A nice employee gave me my money back and sent me to a near by restaurant that was 100% better. Pretty sad when employees slag the food where they work.

I used to shop at Safeway exclusively even though they were pricey, but they got rid of airmiles... I don't shop at Safeway any longer unless it's for a single needed item.

Nice neighborhood Safeway in Montgomery. Their prices are as usual in other Safeway and choices are great too. Quality is based on price you pay so its good.

About the best grocery store in town from a people perspective. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I believe it's a very well managed stor.

It's way too expensive for everyday goods but their poultry is great if you go first thing in the morning and look for discounts

Store looks and feels fresh since they remodeled. Pharmacy is superb in service. Deli needs a long of work worse area off store.

I find things very expensive here. Not recommended for groceries and meat. They might have some offer at times but rarely.
