Great school! Teachers are open-minded and always willing to help and discuss basically any issue. Many a time has our class diverted and had deep political or philosophical discussions, almost always initiated by the students. School rules are pretty sensible and none seem unreasonable, though I reckon there have been quite a few students who stuck around for far too long so you could say the school gives you a lot of chances to learn from your mistakes before finally letting you go. You can see the stress in teachers' faces and having casual conversations will really show how hard they work to make things better for kids. This is a Christian school (which I have no problem with), but I feel there's not an extreme amount of Christianity actually in the curriculum (given our curriculum is a secular one given by the government). There's an opening and closing prayer in assemblies (the assemblies are usually Christian-themed but the content thereof is quite mainstream or rehashed for the sake of little ones hearing it for the first time) and there's a weekly Christian Studies class (30-40 minutes) which is usually also rather mellow like the assemblies; I feel the short time doesn't leave much room for deep discussion or worthwhile content - perhaps this is due to avoid controversy thanks to the diverse range of beliefs held by students and parents. Teachers aren't 'stingy' or arrogant/stubborn, as most (if not all) teachers love having conversations with the atheist students, in my experience anyway; I know our teachers had no problem having debates or discussions with my atheist classmates (who were the minority given this is a Christian school). Teachers are usually unafraid to talk about their beliefs which, obviously, align with the Bible pretty well (this includes the Biblical views on homosexuality) - in my experience the teachers who leave are usually the ones causing harm to the school's reputation, so the current cast is doing very well in my opinion. Most lessons are fairly relaxed and I recall being able to listen to music on ear/headphones in most lessons, and we were almost always allowed to chat as long as we didn't overpower the teacher; in 12th Grade we got access to a kitchen in our classroom where we could make tea, coffee, noodles etc (BYO of course, apart from kettle and microwave). I did love this school and was happy that rotten apples got kicked out when they stepped over the line for the hundredth time; punishments for breaking the rules are usually not very harsh but then again the rules are quite lenient - if you stick by them and just generally be a good person, you'll be fine. The school uniform is modest enough and I reckon the only thing I would change would be allowing females to wear pants during winter (my friends complained they got cold because the winter uniform for girls is a dress with tights, leaving many of them to wear the PE uniform on the wrong days because it was warmer). The school's facilities are quite nice, and while laptops and Ipads are BYO, they do have a computer room for the younger students and in other cases. Each campus has a nice library where you can hang out at lunch to do work or relax. The school serves art, fashion design and cooking, among other arts. Excursions and camps were always fun and I still have some of my best memories from them; the school goes out of its way to provide opportunities for students to bond and for individuals to grow in various ways. All in all this school was great because it promoted freedom of speech and it was very easy to approach teachers and have a chat about almost anything, ranging from video games to the political environment in the US to the meaning of life. If I could change one thing I would say that too much effort is made to avoid controversy, and I find this often hindered the development of students' spiritual and educational growth. However, if students truly desired truth they were always able to have a personal conversation with the teacher where discussion could go much deeper than in a classroom setting.

My Son underwent his education at SVCC Morphett Vale, commencing in 2010 (Grade 5) and graduating in 2017, achieving a strong ATAR. During this period our Family faced a number of challenges (personal & financial) and found the School extremely supportive at all levels.Looking back, I cannot fault the teaching fraternity at the school as a whole. Always going the extra mile when required, including giving up their own time after school and during their holidays, such was their dedication to their students. This support and high ethics of the school, in both their religious and discipline doctrine, set the standards to which my lad applies himself to this day. His proactive study practices entrenched in him, by the school, particularly in Years 10, 11 and 12. Prevailed in a gruelling three year selection process he has undertaken with the Royal Australian Navy for the position of Pilot. Again perseverance, dedication and a strong Christian belief, the grass roots of SVCC saw him selected in January 2019, as one of nine nationally, to the position of Helicopter Pilot Cadet, currently at sea on H.M.A.S Adelaide. At the end of this years initial training block, he has been accepted to study a Bachelor of Engineering, specialising in Aviation, at the Australian Defence Academy, based in Canberra.Thank God, he has quite a career ahead of him. I can only conclude Kane has not found himself in this position by chance. His Mother and I would like to take some credit, he himself, I am sure would like to take some credit. But really it came down to Southern Vales Christian College and the learning environment it offered him, right from the very start, all those years ago. We found educating our child was a two way street. And we were blessed to have paired up with S.V.C.C. We are an average Family and would strongly recommend you putting the future education of your Child/Children in the hands of Southern Vales Christian College.

The parents are lovley they make the community great. The Elc director and 'some's Elc staff also wonderful! The princible of the Svcc mv school however is terrible with feedback response! Some staff are also very biased and judgemental on things that could even be hearsay from another who just doesn't approve of the victimized parent in it all. Not everyone there has a strong faith in Jesus and this does leave negative effect when trusting the wrong people there. The school front office staffs promises are not always kept! They are very money orientated! However their academic results are good but it seems thats the schools main concern is Their self image rather then any child or teaching methods. Their communication is terrible! It's a mix of everything just like the average public school really. Some parents still using the school are sadly too concerned to speak honestly as the school will just throw them out because its working behind in support of their own fowl practise! I however stay honest and feel that to learn the truth of the princibles and 'Some staffs fowl ways that i am blessed because my children are no longer pawns who give the school a good image under false statements! So i sacrificed any welcome we had in the school by being real and truthful. My child brings greatness but Svcc morphett vale campus in my opinion do not deserve to have such a talented good hearted child improve the image of a school with such dishonesty and wrong. I pray God will sort that school out and I'm sure one day He will, that the truths will come out as they always do and news channels will have a field day. That's as a brief. Ad honest as i can put it! And i give a star for the amazing parents there! I'd give 5 stars for most of the parents but i cant because the school will claim that good fortune too

I went to this school for all 13 years of schooling, between the two campuses, and after graduating in 2019, was a youth leader for 2020 and most of 2021. It's a bad school to go to, and the church that runs it uses Christianity as an excuse to be hateful and ignorant. Teachers would choose their favourites, the good students who they thought cared more about their studies, and would refuse to "waste" any time on anyone else. I was a straight B+ student, who didn't try very hard, if at all, but was rewarded and given endless chances because I was "smart". While other students around me, who tried a lot harder than I ever did, were left with almost no support because some STEM subjects weren't their strong points. In year 12, I had a panic attack and fainted in the art room. The teacher got mad at me for needing to go home that day. I stopped going to the church long before I quit being a youth leader, because the pastor's views are stuck in the mid 1900's. There were multiple full services about how queer Christians, like myself, were fake Christians, about how men needed to reclaim their power as God gave them power over women, sermons that preached anti-abortion, anti-choice and anti-bodily autonomy, and plenty of blatant homophobia. The views of the church leech into the school and all of the teachers, making the school an unsafe place to be if you're queer, mentally ill, or even just someone who's not the brightest but tries really hard.

A lot of teachers at Southern Vales are great and have a strong passion to see their students do well. The small classes allow students to connect with one another and build strong relationships, as well as enhancing the learning experience by allowing the students to have more one-on-one time with the teacher. However, the school is fairly outdated and some of their policies/rules are a tad excessive. Southern Vales is best suited to children whose families practice Christianity. If you are a parent who has a strong belief in what the bible says and want your children to grow and develop in a very Christ-centred environment, Southern Vales is a good choice. That being said, if you are not fond of traditionalism and do not have a solid Christian faith, I would not recommend sending your child to SVCC. - Year 12 student :)

As a Student of Southern Vales Christian College, I have noticed that the school’s overall standard is average. However, some teachers tend to become agitated over minor issues, especially when dealing with relief teachers who can be overly strict. Nevertheless, some exceptional teachers make the learning process enjoyable. (I trust that my honesty won’t cause any inconvenience.) It’s worth mentioning that I received a detention for reading the Bible, which is quite unusual and frustrating (because I am a Christian) because it’s a Christian school. *ALSO WAY TOO MUCH SWEARING FOR A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL*. Huge 1 star! And some of the teachers do not care about students’ wellbeing and a student literally got locked out and the teacher did not care!

We moved our 4 kids 8 years ago to Southern vales christian college M/vale and it was one of the best decisions we could make! The teachers and staff at the school absolutely go the extra mile to teach and care for the kids with Godly love. Through all the challenges one gets with a lot of kids from different backgrounds, thrown together in a school environment, the staff and teachers always work together finding ways to accommodate and grow the kids into succesful individuals. The high school staff take time to sit with pupils working through their subject choices and looking at what direction is best for your child's future. I highly recommend this school. Both of our children completed their Primary and Secondary Education at Southern Vales Christian College and are undertaking University studies in their chosen fields. We are very impressed with the quality education, solid values, and level of care and support offered by the teachers and college staff. Our children wanted to remain there for the entirety of their schooling and built good relationships with their peers, in a positive and nurturing environment where there are many excellent mentors and role models. I can highly recommend considering Southern Vales Christian College, if this is what you are seeking for your child.

this school is terrible. there is lots of racism, discrimination, sexism and homophobia. bullying is a major problem there. i was often picked on there for being "fat" and for having cheap shoes. the teachers would often treat the special ed kids like they were superior to us, and lots of teachers would punish the whole class for one person talking. there was no transition into high school from primary school, and the teachers were very harsh with the marking. but to be fair, there were some exceptionally good teachers among all of the bad ones.

Moving to Southern Vales in high school was one of the best decisions I ever made! I was warmly welcomed by students, deeply cared for by teachers and surrounded by kind staff. This school taught me the importance of respecting others, responsibility, hard work and most importantly, the life changing experiences of knowing God.

Southern Vales has a really great family community. This was really enabled through the smaller sized classes and student-teacher communication. It is really reasonably priced for a private school and promotes really great values. I went to a few schools in my school years and Southern Vales was by far the best.

  • Charliegirlnic Nicholson

My children attend SVCC. We would not choose another school. The teaching staff are first class, they will go the extra mile to ensure all students educational needs are catered for regardless of whether they need pushing academically or nourishing emotionally. 11/10 recommend this school to anyone.

Southern Vales Christian College may be considered average, but some of the teachers have a tendency to become agitated over seemingly minor issues, which can be frustrating. The school's policies are quite strict, but there are also some excellent teachers who make the experience worthwhile.

  • Hannah Gregory

It's the only school I've been to so I suppose I am a bit biased. I quite like being here, some of the teachers are really chill and funny. While I am a Christian, they kind of force you to be one. 8/10.

  • Josh millar

I go to this school and it sucks, granted some teacher like Mr. Leane and Mrs. Von Alpen are FANTASTIC! However there is currently a alot of teachers that are presenting the school in a negative way.

  • joel hartwig

a few good teachers but non were good but the church next to it made the school unbearable. it was overbearing. not a good church an ok school. the primary school head was very rude.

  • Hugh Serfontein

When I thought of a school which most allign with my values, Southern Vales was a no-brainer. Just guess how happy I was to see that they have good grades as well.
