My experience at Spence Diamonds was nothing short of excellent from start to finish! When we first walked in we were greeted promptly and given complimentary bottles of water. The sales associate explained how their store worked, gave us a tray to collect out favourites on, and gave us some time to browse by ourselves. One of my favourite things about this store is that all of the display cases are open and the jewelry is all replicas of the real thing. This means you don’t have to flag down an employee every time you want to try something and it’s easy to get a closer look at things. Also, nearly everything in the store can be made in any type of gold or platinum which was an awesome thing for as as we are looking for a rose gold wedding band, which has been proven to be hard to find. The sales associate joined us again to give us some suggestions and was able to really hone in on my fiancé’s style and find the perfect ring! They also asked if we wanted to learn more about their diamonds through a presentation. Normally, I wouldn’t be interested but we decided to give it a go since we weren’t in a rush. The presentation was SO interesting And informative and we even got to pick out a diamond to look at in person under the microscope! We were also offered beer and champagne! Everything about this experience was amazing especially when earlier in the day I went to a competitor to have my engagement ring cleaned and they ignored me for ten minutes and then hardly cleaned my ring at all. The associate at Spence offered to clean my ring again and handed me back something that was so shiny and bright! Thank you Jason and the rest of the Spence team for all of your help! We can’t wait to have Taylor’s wedding band in hand!

Our romantic story began in 1982 when a guy spotted a red headed girl and tried to work up enough nerve to speak to her... he finally blurted out "you have beautiful eyes" and the girl was spooked by this and left ... there is a back story to that but too long to tell. June 2013 - a red headed woman met a man through a dating website - they met for coffee, he told her "we've met before"; she thought "sure sure, good pick up line"! Several months of dating later, he turned to her one day, on an escalator in a subway station, the hairs on the nape of her neck stood on end and he said to her quietly "you still have beautiful eyes"... 31 years had passed, other relationships, children, grandchildren and here they were, staring at each other thinking "this is not possible"...but it is, and now together 9 years and married for 3... cemented by the kindness and caring of Spence Diamonds. Engagement ring and wedding band bought in April 2018 at the Vaughn Spence store, guided by Denise Roland. In April 2022 once again we ventured into a Spence store, this time in Ottawa at the CF Rideau Centre and met Michelle Marriage (what a beautiful person and surname of Marriage!!) - my husband surprised me with purchasing a matching wedding band to complete my set! Michelle and staff were outstanding in their attentiveness, knowledge and guidance. Since Spence’s showcases are open, we arrived without an appointment with the intention of casually browsing on our own. We were immediately greeted by the superb sales team and Michelle, who eventually guided us through the entire process. She started by explaining how Spence is different, and provided a completely relaxed, no-pressure, no-obligation environment. After browsing the store and looking at different styles on our own time, she asked if we would like some assistance, and got to know us and the styles we were looking for, our values, budget, etc. She even led us through an exercise in which she would place a ring on my hand with my eyes closed, and instructed my partner to watch my expression as I opened my eyes. This was such a fun unique experience! Once we had an idea of what styles we liked, she brought us into her office for an explanation on the science and creation of diamonds - we were so grateful to receive this presentation together, as it brings a whole other layer of meaning to the purchase. She showed many examples, and let us look at different stones under the microscope. Once we decided to make a purchase, she provided us with several different quotes within and below our budget, and helped us understand the cost breakdowns. From the time we walked in, to the proposal, and every follow up and email in between - we have nothing but great things to say about Spence and Michelle. We cannot wait to work with her again to pick our wedding bands!

Worst experience ever and wasted 1.25 hours of my time. 5/5 would not recommend unless you don’t care what your getting. I met with Michelle and she’s couldn’t deliver. She started talking super fast and kept confusing both of us, even herself. I had to ask for a piece of paper to write things down because she was all over the place. Started quoting me on different cuts of diamonds I never asked for as I was very specific in what I was looking for. Also, quoting me on lab grown diamond when I stated only mined. Thank god I wrote everything down so this is how I found out she’s not delivering what I’m asking for. She also had the audacity to tell me if I knew what I wanted it would be so much easier. I showed her pictures, type of Diamond, size, clarity, colour and what type of metal. What more did she want??? Then to state this must not be my first marriage. Why? Because I was very specific on what I was looking for. She even turned her computer towards me to pick my own at this point because I was getting super frustrated. In the end quoted me over $8000 for something I didn’t even ask for and not good quality. She sent me a basic standard email the next day which I replied to still asking basic questions like total ct wt on the bands and still have not received the reply as she never answered these question when I asked in person. Beware!!!! Don’t get fooled!!! Do your homework before going in and wasting your time.

Michelle was an absolute delight and had the patience of a saint explaining the ins and outs of everything as I was shopping for an engagement ring. I wanted it to be a surprise so I was on my own when it came to deciding what to choose, Michelle made it much easier to isolate down to potential choices in ring and diamond options, showing me in depth all the differences and went through detailed presentations, in addition to answering all my (even the very ridiculous ones) questions. Ultimately I was able to choose a perfect ring with a perfect stone. At the time of purchase we received all the necessary paperwork to insure the ring as well. Made everything post sale very smooth, as well as being able to go back for cleanings/routine checkups and being so close to home makes it very convenient. I want to once again re-iterate that Michelle went above and beyond assisting me over the course of multiple visits, offered to change her schedule to accommodate me, and was very helpful in emails and providing pictures throughout the whole process. I went to a few other shops, bigger and smaller in Ottawa during the initial stages of my search and was unable to find any other shop (even ones that supposedly are much "better" than Spence) provide service anywhere near Michelle and the staff at Spence. In terms of the ring itself we love it - thank you so much!

My fiancé and I had an incredible experience working with the team at Spence in the Rideau Centre. We wandered in before getting engaged and were greeted by the store manager Juhli who walked us through every detail there was to know about diamonds. By the time we left, we both understood exactly what cut, colour, clarity and style I wanted in an engagement ring. I even changed my mind about my diamond shape based on her suggestions and seeing different options on my hand. She was professional, yet personable and made us feel completely at ease. I can’t count how many times I have returned to the store since actually getting engaged. From ring re-sizing, to diamond upgrading, to choosing our wedding bands, the entire team has been there every step of the way. I have to give credit to Michelle for helping me finally decide on my wedding band, as well as Rishabh and Kinsley for finalizing that purchase. I make a point now of stopping in for a cleaning and to say hello every time I’m at the mall. I highly recommend Spence to anyone looking for an educational, no nonsense experience with great prices and even better costumer service! Both you and your partner will love working with their team.

Let this review clear all doubts of the actual service and product we received from Spence diamonds. This review is not to rate the business based on its radio commercial rather it is a review of the business itself. We purchased an engagement ring in July 2021 with Brian and we were blown away by the selection, the beauty of the diamonds and Brian’s hospitality. He took the time to explain every aspect of the diamond we chose and made us feel comfortable to openly ask questions as we made this big decision. One year later and we still cannot say enough good things about Brian’s service and Spence diamonds. As a young couple, other jewellery stores did not take us seriously. Brian did and we were happy to give Spence diamonds our business. I find it sad that the business ratings are being brought down by factors unrelated to actual products or service. I certainly don’t care that people find the radio commercial irritating - I find those reviews irritating as I know Spence diamonds gave us a special experience.

I decided it was time to offer a ring that would reflect the 30 years my wife and I have been together and I decided to bring her to Spence without really knowing what to expect. Juhli took the time needed to educate us on diamonds, how to pick the right diamond and mny other important things to know before buying a diamond. No other jeweler took the time to do this. Juhli made it more than just a purchase, she made it an experience in which we feel like we made an educated purchase instead of just buying something nice and shiny. I did not get the name of the other person that greeted us at the store but she also made us feel very comfortable and answered all of our questions. For many buyers, picking out a jewel is an stressful moment as we will spend a nice amount of heard earned funds. Having people that walk us through the whole process while explaining everything without adding any pressure is a welcome change. Thank you for the excellent service and time spent with us.

We purchased our wedding rings from here and we highly regret it. My engagement/wedding bands have had to be sent in on multiple occasions and everything was at my own expense as the warranty only covers the diamonds (however I highly doubt they would even honour that). I explained how I've had to send my rings in and I feel like I never get to wear my wedding bands because they are always in the shop getting fixed. I got my rings moulded together just a year ago and they juat came apart and again I have to pay at my own expense.When I reached out to customer service they were of no help and said that some rings have broken similar to mine because someone gripped their steering wheel too tightly Im sorry but we should br able to go about our daily activities without our rings breaking. Ridiculous!! Such poor quality for the price you pay. Please go elsewhere and do not provide them business. You are better off elsewhere!!!!

My boyfriend and I went in to browse as we had heard good reviews and I was looking forward to trying rings in with the open showcase without being haggled by a rep. Our first experience with Michelle was very informative, she wasn’t pushy at all. A few weeks later we decided to book an appointment to go in and finalize the purchase. It seemed the ring we were interested in had a tag saying 0.5 carats but the actual “diamond” on it looked to be over 1 carat which was unfortunate as we really liked the size on the display but were mislead to believe we could get that size diamond for the price on the tag of the display ring. We ended up finding a diamond and Michelle explained we could customize some things on the ring to make it look just right. We are happy with the ring and the service Michelle provided but disappointed that the display ring was mis advertised.

I cannot stand, nor stomach, the inane, repetitive, and nonsensical radio ads. They are the most irritating commercials I've heard in years. Frankly, there is no level of product, customer service, or massive sale that would lure me in to this store. Figure it out. For some reason, it seems Spence has effectively made it their business model to waste their advertising dollars on this idiocy. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the vast majority of their customers have never heard the commercials – maybe they've done a Google search for jewellery stores at the Rideau Centre, or noticed the store while shopping. Here's a tip: an advertisement is meant to entice potential customers to check out your store, not make them avoid your store like the plague.

If you are looking for engagement/ wedding rings this is most definitely the place to be going! My boyfriend and I went to 10 different jewelers and found nothing I liked! I am SO pleased with my experience here. You are able to customize rings at no extra cost, pick you diamond colour, clearity and they don't do any other cut other than excellent! We were told by other jewelers that the ring I wanted would cost me over 10K because of how "picky" my taste was... and we bought it here for just over 3K! Again, if you're specific and really want to design your own ring... definitely go to Spence Diamonds. Big shout out to Michelle for being so so patient and the absolute best! She made this experience so memorable for us!

My fiancé and I had two fantastic experiences (engagement ring and wedding bands) at Spence and recommend it highly! We were fortunate to have been helped both times by Juhli - she was by far one of the best sales associates we’ve had at any store. She was extremely friendly, honest, knowledgeable, patient, and quick to pick up on our tastes. Having been to other jewellery stores to look for rings, we very much appreciated that there was no sales pressure whatsoever. We also loved the open cases which meant being able to try on whatever we wanted (and the selection is incredible!) at our own pace. My partner and I were thrilled with the service and expertise at Spence Diamonds! I only had a picture of the ring I wanted to design and Michelle sat down with us for a couple of hours and made that happen!! She has an incredible knowledge for Spence diamonds and can visualize what would look great based on individual preferences, right down to which claws are best to hold the size of diamond you choose. Michelle thought of the finer details that I surely would have missed. Once the ring is designed you have an opportunity to make changes before they make the real deal!! I absolutely love the finished product and the whole process was seamless and worth the wait!!

We had a great experience at Spence Diamonds today! The staff is very kind and attentive while giving you enough space to look at their collection freely. I loved how all their rings are displayed so you can try them on yourself. Michelle was particularly helpful in the process of choosing an engagement ring. It was a very individualized experience; you can pick the color and clarity of the diamond as the cut is guaranteed to be excellent. They have a room where they show you a video about diamonds and you can view them under a microscope. I am really happy with our choice to buy the ring from Spence Diamonds.

Isti at the Spence Rideau location was absolutely terrific from the beginning to the end of the ring buying process. He knew what questions to ask my fiance and I and explained the entire process very clearly. I especially like Spence's approach to having open display cases. The cherry on top was being able to sit in a room with a magnifying glass and large screen to appreciate and review all the details of the diamond we chose. They even served champagne while doing this! Isti's communication, follow up and customer service are exactly what is needed in this business. Please ask for him!

I had an amazing shopping experience at the Spence Diamonds in the second floor at the Rideau shopping centre. This diamond store is one of my favourite because first of all they have the open glass concept and you can try everything on without asking anybody. I also like the idea of having the price tag on which saves so much time and give yo the chance to enjoy the full shopping experience. To be honest the staff are super helpful and they did amazing job explaining the idea of lab created Diamond. I really felt like VIP while shopping at the store and I really recommend it.

I had an amazing experience at Spence. Juhli, the store director, really took the time to educate me on diamonds and all of the relevant information so that I could make an informed decision on which diamond to choose. She was extremely attentive and quick to respond whenever I reached out, and she answered all of my questions. My Fiancée was in love with her ring, as was everyone else. We are now married, and she did not want to get an additional wedding band, because she loves her diamond ring so much that she didn’t want to take away from it. 10/10 recommended Spence.

Gotta give a star for the Customer Service, top tier! The ring has looked great, but turns out was a little bit over-priced for the quality. Mostly disappointed in their payment plan options...They advertised their partnership with Flexiti as a payment plan, but turns out it just signs you up for a bank account with them and Flexiti is, unfortunately, a scam of a bank with their massive interest and service fee charges, as well as horrible accrued interest plans. However, if you can avoid their Flexiti pushing, you should have a good time finding a ring there!

Istiaque was calm, kind and had a natural manner that made it easy to ask him the tough questions I had about diamond and gold sourcing. The majority of diamonds here are lab-grown, which is more environmentally and human friendly but just as beautiful. I was impressed with the extent of his knowledge and that he took the time to show me exactly what I was buying. I loved the style of the pendant they had - it was the perfect gift for my mom. Thanks again for a really great jewellery buying experience.

Buying the engagement ring for my fiancee here was a pleasure thanks to Jason. He did an excellent job of listening to our wants and needs and found us the right diamond! He was not pushy for higher cost rings and in fact was super happy to sell us a lab made conflict free diamond, this was something my fiancee and I wanted. The atmosphere was high class and relaxed, this store is definitely a hidden diamond in the rough as it's not a stand alone store like most diamond shops. Thanks again Jason.

We had such an amazing experience shopping for an engagement ring at Spence! We loved that the environment was far less pushy than other jewelry stores, and that you can pick up and try on as many rings as you like, at your own pace. Juhli was a great help in finding the perfect ring, as well as the perfect diamond. We were in Ottawa on a short vacation, and decided on a whim to check out this store and were definitely happy that we did. Staff are friendly and professional and the store is well managed. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Not sure what that last review was on about, but my experience with Michelle was fabulous. She was knowledgable of diamonds and the different styles and I learned a lot about how diamonds are graded. I had an idea for the ring I wanted, and she did not disappoint and even got a larger diamond than I had hoped. Would certainly come again and definitely recommend.

I had an excellent experience browsing for engagement rings with my now fiancé a few years back and was reminded of how good the customer service was recently when my ring needed resizing and I brought it in. The folks at Spence are kind and courteous. I also love the open display cases that allow for easy browsing. Such a wonderful place to shop for jewellery! So easy and you can try on anything you want due to their open showcases and all the prototypes displayed. The staff was so friendly, I didn't want to leave the store! This place is definitely my go to for diamonds. I can't believe how little I knew about Artisan created Diamonds but the perks are definitely amazing. They are way better quality and larger in size! I definitely recommend this store.

I bought and engagement ring from Spence this past December and the experience was great. Michelle was extremely helpful, very kind and not pushy in any way. She was able to offer options based on my requirements and budget. Not only that but she took the time to actually educate me about the different properties of the diamonds and how the one I ended up choosing compared. The whole process was very transparent and easy. I highly recommend!

Buying an engagement ring can be a bit nerve racking or intimidating, but Michelle provided such an excellent and thoughtful service experience. I had a great experience shopping at Spence. Nick and his colleagues were a great help in choosing a birthday gift for my girlfriend. Went to other stores (admittedly dressed like a bum, I had just come back from skateboarding) and the staff in the other stores barely looked at me, let alone offer some help. That’s not how I was greeted at Spence. I am very satisfied with my visit there. Now I just have to hope my girlfriend likes her gift!

I recently bought my first diamond at Spence with Michelle, she was fantastic! Michelle and Juhli (manager) went out of their way to ensure I had it in time for Christmas. I asked a few technical questions about diamonds, how they're value is rated, quality determined, etc and received a short lesson that properly answered my questions and made me feel even more comfortable with my purchase. Jason went above and beyond, showing my girlfriend and I a lab-grown diamond even though we weren't serious about buying and came in to the store shortly before it closed. Where other stores lose interest if you aren't buying or fit a certain demographic, Jason was genuinely passionate about jewelry and wanted to share that with us. Definitely the brick & mortar store I'd buy a diamond from when the time comes!

I have never stepped foot in the store nor will I ever, thanks to their radio commercials… I wouldn’t touch it with a 10ft pole. I automatically switch to a different station or just completely turn the radio off, the commercials are the most annoying thing to have ever existed. You’re putting all this money into making a whole lot of people avoid you like the plague. So please…. do us all a favour and STOP!!

This store spams so many terrible radio ads it's actually kinda sad. High quality shops don't need to do that. It's like lawyers: if you need to advertise, you're doing something wrong. I'm never buying anything here, and I'll be telling other people as well simply because how annoying they've been. Oh, and diamonds are literally useless worthless, made expensive by a diamond cartel. That too.

I will never buy anything from this place. I had the worst experience ever trying to buy a neckless for my wife for a Christmas gift. The supervisor JULY would not put a neckless on hold for me to stop in after work to pick it up. I would think twice before i would buy anything from Spence Diamonds. I guess they don't need my money or maybe my money is not good enough to spend in there store.

My fiancé and I just picked our rings today at the Rideau store. They are everything that we were poking or, try re fantastic in ever way. The staff were all so kind and welcoming and help me choose the most beautiful diamond earrings that I am so excited to see my daughter wear one day! We had an amazing experience at Spence! Michelle was a tremendous help. We took advantage of the lifetime upgrade option and traded my wife's diamond for a newer, bigger and exceptionally beautiful diamond. From the minute I stepped in to when I left with the ring, Spence employees gave me great services and advice. I came in with requirements and a budget for the ring of my fiance. I got ring at Scarborough location 5 years ago. The diamond cracked in half no fault mine. I work as a paramedic in northern ontario so i cant really get in too have my ring inspected yearly. They refused replace diamond due lack inspections. They never told me about the inspection at time of purchase and told me go read my contract. Not Impressed

They deserve one star for their commercials alone. They think that by being constantly annoying they will be top of mind when shopping for diamonds. Well, each stupid Spence commercial I hear only serves to strengthen my resolve to never do business with you clowns. Thank you Alexa, for your quick action when I ask you to mute these commercials.

My man Isti there hooked me up. Start to finish. Even called to check up on me before I proposed. I'm still waiting for People's to call me back for a ring cost estimate lol. 5/5 doesn't do it. Picked out the very diamond that is on my bride to be's finger. Can't say enough amazing things about this place. Prices are good too. Did I say 5/5 yet?

Went in for one thing, left with TWO! Enjoyed my experience at Spence Diamonds. It was very hands on since you can try on anything you want and the staff was great because they give you your space!! They were so kind and helpful with any questions I had. They have such a large collection so be prepared to spend some time in there! So worth it!

Hands down one of the best shopping experiences I have ever had. We went there to look for engagement rings. Michelle took care of us and was wonderful about explaining everything to us in detail. Everything is customizable, so we got exactly what we wanted for a very reasonable price. We will definitely be shopping there again in the future.

We went to 10-12 stores in the past week, and although I'm sure spence has nice diamonds, the customer service was terrible. There's always some more interested and less interested salespeople, but Josh was exceptionally disrespectful and patronising. Part of these purchases is the experience and this is not the place to go for it IMO.

The main diamond on my ring fell out after having it for ten years. Unfortunately I didn't complete the 2 minute examination in 2019 so there is nothing that Spence is willing to do (we lived 3 hours away from the store). I thought Spence would have had better customer service and at least tried to assist me with a new product.

At Christmas I met rishabh Patni ,he helped me find the most beautiful candle fire necklace,his knowledge and professionalism was beyond a sale,I returned for another purchase at valantines day,yet again he was so polite knowledgeable and helped me find the perfect ring, thank you!! Bought my anniversary ring from them two years ago. Noticed one of the diamonds was wiggly. Brought it in to get fixed. Not a difficult task. They were going to charge me because they only guarantee their stuff for one year. I’ll bring it to another local jeweller who will tighten it for free. I’ll never shop there again.

I’m basing this review strictly on their Radio Ads! Their marketing department needs to be thrown in prison for putting together the MOST annoying and cringe worthy commercials I have ever heard! Not only do the ads make me NEVER want to step foot in their store it also makes me turn off the radio and switch to a podcast

Amazing experience, Michelle helped me from start to finish, educating me on the different criteria diamonds are graded on, and then let me see a bunch of options under the microscope. Presented me with a list of options for the diamond itself, found the perfect diamond, and then chose the perfect ring. 10/10 recommend

Never shopped here and won’t as their radio ads are actually just that annoying, self indulgent ridiculous ads which basically just involve them wanting to say their own names repeatedly on the radio…..I change the station every time one comes on definitely won’t be coming in to be annoyed by these voices in person.

After months of enduring the ridiculous radio advertisements, and Spence continuing to maintain the same campaign, I need to agree with all the other reviews. The adverts will actively cause me to change radio channel and are the sole reason that I would purchase diamonds from LITERALLY ANY OTHER SOURCE.

After several terrible experiences at other jewelers, Spence took the time to listen and understand what we wanted. Most importantly they abided by our budget and we ended up with a beautiful ring. Thankyou so much to Juhli for your understanding and customer service. We are beyond the moon happy.

I got ring in scarborough spencers and had the diamond Crack in half after 5 year. They refused too replace it due to yearly inspection that my husband states he was never told about. They told us pretty much go read contract cant help you. Upset

Great service. They really took the time to show multiple options and even checked in on a few modifications for me! They only thing that would have made it better is if my partner had bought the ring!

Josh was an excellent help. The diamond presentation was very valuable and the consultation working through all of the options was extremely helpful in narrowing down what we did and did not like.
