SSC has had a bad reputation in both the past and present for understandable reasons. The school is known for being very small, which has it's perks however, making friends can be extremely difficult. There aren't a wide range of subject options at all which is something another school would offer a lot more of. The school doesn't even have a canteen. My 3 years spent at this school and not once have we gone for a class camp or anything of the sort which again, something another school would offer. There are several dangerous students who've done incredibly violent acts on multiple occasions and only get a slap on the wrist for it, for example, on the last week of the term a student from the unit flung chairs across the gym in anger and flipped a table, he remains at the school. Same student shattered a window and threatened people with a butter knife, he remains at the school. A student from mainstream was chasing and hitting kids in a rage, he remains at the school. Basically, if you have violent kids that have been suspended or expelled from other schools, this is the place to go! Apart from the evident flaws, majority of the teachers are lovely. The school counselor is one of the most friendliest people you'll come across and offers solid advice. The ice hockey and basketball programs are quite good. Apart from that this school is dreadful.

I have had involvement with Springbank Secondary College for two years as my son attends. We have only had positive experiences with the school. The principal, Wendy, has shown great capacity to lead this school with wisdom, passion, great insight into teenagers. Wendy shows diligence for creating a place where learning is paramount and creativity, time and effort is put into enabling learning to happen for each individual. We have had personal experience in Wendy working through a conflict between students, and it was handled with care, wisdom, understanding, patience and insight with an incredibly good outcome for everyone involved. The teachers have been sincere in wanting to know who my son is and how he learns. They continue to work with us as parents to ensure they give my son the best experience and opportunity to expand his knowledge and ability to produce quality work. My son has made a good group of friends who care for each other, inspire each other and create a place with my son feels comfortable to be himself, enjoy himself and have a fun time!!!! I could not recommend this school enough for it’s small-by-design perks and inclusive nature, as this has changed my son’s education experience!!

SSC has always been close to home and a great choice for sending my daughter too. Overheard a couple of my colleagues at work one afternoon saying how SSC is only dedicated towards those wanting to do sports or do something in the Arts, which it is most known for and is very capable of making you the next athlete or actor/actress. Although, my daughter is much more of an academic student, that gets straight A’s and her favourite subject is Math. I decided to listen to my gut and enrolled her in the school, and I am so glad I did! She absolutely loves it here! She has a great group of friends and the teachers are so friendly as well as the counsellors. Academically, she feels challenged which is absolutely phenomenal. She has a dream of becoming a doctor and I truly believe with this school, she can make it happen! The facilities here are also really amazing. Parents, I would 100% recommend sending your child here, as they will be able to become one of many successful people in the world.

There is such a lovely group of caring and committed families at Springbank who fought incredibly hard to retain this school and get it invested in. Springbank is now about to get a $10 million upgrade, which will really help to modernise the facilities and support the excellent teaching staff. The school has a Basketball Academy, led by the amazing Brendan Mann - a basketball legend in SA. The academy is run in conjunction with Flinders University and Basketball SA. As student numbers grow, subject choice is expanding and there is a focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and maths. Springbank has a disability unit and is part of the Inclusive School Communities Project, run by JFA Purple Orange.

If I could give a score of a 100 stars it still wouldn't convey just how wonderful this school actually is. The School provides an educational platform that is so unique that it simply cannot be compared to others. It is a standout in providing an inclusive learning environment and our son's time at the College has been lifechanging in the most wonderful & inspiring way. The fabulous leadership of Wendy House together with an amazing group of teachers & support staff should be commended and we are so very proud to be a part of this unique educational environment that they have created & so very glad that our son has had the good fortune to be a student at this school. A++++

Springbank has provided a wonderfully holistic environment, in which our daughter can finish her High School career. The Educators understand each learner has varying needs and differentiate lessons to suit different learning styles. We have seen remarkable academic growth and credit their commitment for it. The subject choices on offer, will provide her with the opportunity to pursue her University courses of choice. The facilities at the school welcome a diverse sporting and cultural community. Overall Springbank checks all the boxes for us, we are proud to be a Springbank family and look forward to seeing its continued growth and development.

I have a sone currently in year 12 who has thrived in the rich environment at Springbank Secondary College. Jack is in the Disability Unit and now enjoys the inclusive environment that he is now part of. The staff are caring, considerate and do an amazing job teaching students with a wide range of needs. Having the Ice Factor Program and the Basketball Academy along with access to Flinders University Programs along with the ASMS SSC is amazing!! Being a small inclusive school with such amazing staff and such a lot to offer is the jewel in the crown of the Education Department

This is a great school. They have excellent SACE results every year. The students and teachers respect each other and the students are not just a number. The communication from teachers to parents is fantastic. There are basketball and ice hockey programs available to all students plus VET prgrams for the 11 and 12 students. The school promotes community values and should be looked at by everyone who is looking for a high school.

So proud of this inclusive school, its programs and their community. Throughout a recent Department for Education review the Friends of Springbank Secondary College were tireless in their support to see this smaller school maintain and expand their support for students. Really looking forward to seeing the little school that can, being part of building vision and future for our young people.

I go to this school and its wonderful in it's own ways. Small school, that's a pro, everyone knows each other. This school is no longer called "Pasadena High School" it is now called "Springbank Secondary School". The logo and sign has not been changed yet due to uniform and logo colour switch. We are still deciding what the colour may be and what the uniform is going to look like.

Our daughter transferred to Springbank Secondary College this year. She loves Springbank - the teachers and support staff are wonderful, dedicated and they genuinely care. Being a smaller school with a diverse range of student abilities, allows Springbank to provide individual learning plans for every one of their students. We love this unique and beaut school!! ♥

I can’t be happier with the smaller school environment for my kids. As the school is growing, so too are subject choices, but the small campus feel, with incredibly responsive staff and a warm and welcoming parent group has made it the best choice of local highschool for our family

  • Rebecca Baird

Leading the way in inclusive education, Springbank Secondary College is a gem waiting to be discovered. Solid basketball and ice hockey programmes combined with partnership programmes with ASMS and Flinders University. Your child’s Secondary Education is safe with Springbank.

Great teachers who cater to your needs, especially if you're neurodiverse. Small school so there is only a limited choice of classes. Only downside is the management of students behavior and small school meaning not many options of friends.

  • Olivia Allan

bathrooms look gross. performing arts room is all covered up, can't see through windows. left a door unlocked. not very good security if you ask me. canteens unavailable at the moment. might be because it's Saturday .might not.

Great school with a diverse range of students, positive or negative I reflect on my experiences with this school highly. A lot of good memories which will last for decades to come.
