The pooja and Temple were amazing. I went during the mid morning time. But when I was at the stairs wearing my shoes to leave the Temple. Then an elderly Sri Lankan man asked me if I have a bomb in my bag. When I told him this is a gym bag and he could clearing see I’m leaving. When I confronted him, I should have said I am clearly leaving why did you have make such a mean comment and an explanation about all the attacks in the world. He kept going on about keeping an eye on “people like me” because I have look ethnic and carry a big bag. Lesson for me is to not carry a big bag. Understand disturbed people also volunteer at the temple. You just have to stay away. He didn’t apologise instead he asked me if I can’t take a joke. Then I told it wasn’t nice to treat devotees like that who come for peace. Apparently “people like me” need to be monitored. I get that but a comment is unnecessary when I was clearly leaving with a smile on my face. If I was a man and big he wouldn’t have dared to pick on me “as a joke”. It's an irony of insulting a woman at the Shakti temple.. I went there for peace but returned with a combination of good experience and insults that were not even needed. Don't take Sri Lankan man with glasses’ jokes seriously . Other than that an amazing devotional experience ❤️.

Totally unprofessional. Right from the word go, we were given varying information reg our function. Even on the day, there was chaos everywhere and the President asks all the guests about the food! Until the day of the function we weren't 100 % sure what shocks & surprises were in store and we weren't disappointed - no heaters as were promised, no drinking water with food, there's no tap outside! Stay away from this place as even the event itself was a rushed job! This and the Murugan temple are only there to make money... so be ware! How did this go past the certifiers??

Beautiful and calm place. Seems like away from the hustle and bustle as it is located in the industrial area. Easy access by public transport. Convenient to visit 2 temples next to each other. Still some work in progress although main temple is fully constructed. Once spotted a peacock in the premises, beautiful. There is Saraswathi goddess as a main deity too, which is convenient to do 'Aksharabhyasam' /'Palaka Pooja' for young kids on Vasantha Panchami.

Sri Durga Devi temple constructed very spaciously. In this temple we can have Darshanam of the three Consorts (Maa Durga,Maa Lakshmi and Maa Saraswathi) of the Trimurties Lord Shiva,Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma respectively. We also can have the Darshanam of Lord SHIVA and Maa Kamakshi,Ashta (eight) Lakshmi s,Santaana Gopala Krishna, Lord Vinayaka, Lord Murugan along with Consorts SriValli and Devasena,Navagrahas,Bhairava,Nataraja etc.

This is a holy place for Hindus to worship. The holiness can be felt in the entire complex. It is better than the Sydney Murugan temple because many Gods/ Godesses can be seen here like Saraswathi,Ashta Lakshmees,Krishna ,Balaji with His Wives, apart from family of Siva and Navagrahas present in Murugan temple.A canteen is also provided here for the devotees to have snacks here after Darshan .Really worth visiting for peace of mind.

The 1 star is for the management and not for the Temple. The temple has 2 function halls. 2 of my friends booked for bigger hall but ended up receiving the smaller hall at the last minute. The management is rude and unprofessional in dealing with the booking of the halls. I heard from other people that the management does double and triple bookings many times and disappoints the clients at the last minute.

This temple is shaping up nicely. Looking forward to see the Kumbhabhishekam in November this 2016. Very big Auditorium for community events. Sydney Telugu Association celebrated its Diwali 2015 event in this hall to support the Temple. Good to see another temple (Shirdi Sai Mandir) next door. Devotees can visit both when they are here. Great effort by the people behind these 2 temples. Well done.

I attended a wedding in Jan 2020. The reason for this rating is because of the state of men's toilet. There was no hand wash liquid and paper towels. There was a contraption that looked like a hand dryer. It did not work. And one of the toilet cubicle entrance is physically blocked by the wash basin! I wonder how did the #CumberlandCouncil approve this shoddy construction.

First time to this temple. It was pleasant, peaceful, and well maintained. Neat and Clean. We had a quick trip from Canberra along with guest from India and we all were happy to be at this temple. Design of temple and the way the statues were organised is nice. Seems work is still going on and hope it would be complete before Spring. Will try and visit again.

Divine temple, huge in size, heaps of car park spaces available inside and outside the temple. Temple priest are most friendly and helpful. Priest provide good advice, pray on your behalf, temple administrator conduct many variety of holy functions and festive activities in a huge colourful manner. Highly recommend everyone to visit this temple.

Foot quality - filthy place. Unhygienic place. Food was old idli had dry coat on it. No tissue or spoon for access. Pathetic service. Business in name of God and no ethic or hygiene. Please don't stop there for food. The worst ever service and old , cold food served. Who gave this place certificate to serve food. How did they get approval

  • Ashish Mahato

We went there a couple of weeks ago at my friends wedding. The temple is still under construction. Toilets are operational, but the doors don't work. The toilet outside the function hall was filty and dirty. The food was super hot . Service was okay, though. Hope when i will be there next time, i will not see these things. Cheers …

  • ARAVIND RAMANATHAN

Very disappointing experience. The management was totally unprofessional. Not that anything was cheap. The food that we ordered did not reach everyone. And inspite of asking him for an explanation , he does not bother to respond..If temples can't provide a proper service they should stop doing it and not exploit people's sentiments.

  • Siva Chandramouli

I called and it was great to see phone line was picked up within one ring. Temple experience was Amazing . Just visited today. Temple construction going on the side but all deities are well maintained. Pooja happened at noon as well. I would like to know how to get access to temple at back??? . Main Deity of Durga Maa. So powerful.

  • Aravind Udayasankaran

Authentic Hindu temple worth visiting in this area. With unique set of deities, Durga is surrounded by mahalaxmi and sarasvathi. Also temple hosts all the eight laxmis which are rare to see nowdays. Canteen needs a major overhaul with new tables and chairs. This part of the temple needs some love so people can have some good food.

  • Shishir M J

It's a Hindu temple of goddess Durga. It also has all the major Hindu deities. Inside the temple is very well maintained. There will always be ample parking inside. There is a small canteen which sells south indian food. The surroundings of the temple can be well maintained. It's peaceful to visit this temple.

  • Sujan Selven

Beautiful hindu temple with wedding hall and other facilities. There is good space for street parking around the temple. Weekdays parking are hard but weekends is good for parking. I also have attended other functions here and good sound system in place. Highly recommend this place for community events.

  • Smita Sonawane

Recently visited temple.....Temple is very beautiful but we were so disappointed with the canteen food quality was so poor and taste was so horrible. There are so many temples around and they have very good quality food. If they can't provide good service nd food they should stop this canteen .....

  • Preetham Arvind

Very unprofessional! Do not get married here. It will be a nightmare! Absolutely disgusting toilets. The management Mr. Mahendran was very disorganised and unhelpful. They were running late, didn't provide everything they promised, did not provide breakfast, centrepiece, etc.

  • Vidula Pandit

Temple is nice and peaceful but there is elevator for old age ppl. Canteen is not clean hygiene. Wash basins was clogged with dirty water. Waste food throw in open bucket and big Cockroach are roaming n flying around. very very disappointing place for food. …

  • rishabh ganesh

Temple is very clean and amazing. But the canteen is really bad and had worst experience with the food they served. Dosa wasn't good, Poori had oil dripping in the plate and vada was too oily. Seriously will not recommend anyone to eat food in the canteen

  • bharat jinjala

This temple is considered as the most famous temple of Sydney. Devotees flock this temple mainly on Saturday & Sunday. A visit to this holy place gives peace and bliss. Best time to visit is during the auspicious day of Ganesha Chaturthi & Navratree.

  • M L Arora

JMD. What we write about it. Cleanliness in and out side the mandir is Zero. Please fo and see spider webs near the Mata Ji K Swroop. No parshaad. No washrooms. No cleanliness. Bhai Jaan nothing to mind but developments are required. M L Arora.

  • Raghunathan T.E.

Nice temple... Has Goddess Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswathi as the main deity. With Ashtalaksmi, Santhana Gopal Krishna, Murugan, Vinayagar & Lord Shiva. All under one roof . Further Navagraha with Bhairavar to complete the prayers.

  • Sanjib Joshi

This rating is not for the temple but for the person (may be someone from temple management) who rudely told us that we can't do our own car puja and have to take their car puja package. Seems like running a business rather than a temple.

  • Laxman Gangishetty

Beautiful temple to visit. Holy Indian Temple of goddess Durga, Laksmi (Ashta Laxmi), Saraswati matha's, Lord Ganesha, Shiva, Valli devasena sametha subramanyam swamy, venugopala swamy and navagraha temple to worship all together …

  • Krish

First time to the temple and the architecture seemed really similar to another temple in Parramatta, maybe the same trust built it. Very peaceful, the priests in here are very helpful and told us about the different deities. There's a

  • Rajiv Boddupalli

This review is not about the temple as place of worship. This is about priests , who does not communicate well about fees. I was told that I will pay only when come in person for abhishekam, but they charged me for not attending also.

  • Hema Ananth

90% completed the construction. Now the temple is much better. We had our daughter aaush hommam (first birthday). Two priest performed the hommam , well recited the mantras. They even have peacocks in the temple.

  • K Anand

It is very nice fairly big durga temple in Sydney having all hindu deities including Astalakshmi . All vigrahas are super. Well maintained. Pandits do pooja with dedication. Better to travel in your own vehicle.

  • vidhi mathur

The so called management is unorganised, rude and extremely unprofessional. The priests give wrong information, take bookings and then cancel them abruptly. Just another rude business in the name of God.

  • ARVND KUMAR
