I brought a couple of antique rings to be repaired and was extremely disappointed with the outcome. One ring had a missing green stone in the channel setting and the other needed a small diamond to be replaced and for the ring to be resized. I was horrified with how poorly my pieces were serviced. First off, the ring was only enlarged about a quarter or half a size, even though I had asked for it to be increased by 1.5 sizes. The gold added to the ring was old and dirty, so the finished product looked splotchy with dark spots and little holes. It was also incredibly thin and flimsy and did not match the thickness of the rest of the band, despite being charged $100 for the size increase. The green stone that was added did not match the colour or size of the rest of the stones in the channel setting, and the jeweler stretched the gold around the stone to jam it into place. The final product looks terrible and has essentially ruined this antique piece. The diamond that the jeweler chose to place in my other ring was also the wrong colour and size. He added a brown diamond that does not match the other diamonds in the ring and he also smushed the gold around it, so the bezel setting looks sloppy. I paid over $400 for these repairs, which seemed expensive, but the jeweler was so confident in his expertise and I wanted the pieces done properly. What's worse is that when I expressed concerns over these repairs, the jeweler said my eyes were incorrect and that they were in fact perfect. He offered to do more work on the rings, but I felt they had already been butchered enough and I had absolutely no faith in his abilities anymore. I highly recommend you stay away from this shop! Prices are ridiculously high and the "repairs" may actually cause more problems than they fix. I brought my rings to another jeweler and they were shocked with how poorly they had been "repaired" by Stirring. Stay Away!
My sister went to this store , and was given false promises and said they could fit the engraving on the bracelets she brought in. She spent $80 to have it come out very bad and lopsided. She spent over $200 on these bracelets to have them ruined for her anniversary. When she went back to tell them about this they got very aggressive and screamed at her claiming she was the one threatening them when all she wanted was a refund. My sister was left scared and upset because of this insane behaviour, I have never seen or heard of workers being this unprofessional at work. Do better. >> replying to your last message : No point that was made in your response is the truth. On the phone call it was clearly agreed upon that your store would not only refund the money owed back, but also scratch off the lopsided and crooked engraving. My sister came for exactly that, not only did Anjali greet her with attitude, she instantly decided that she no longer want to live up to what was agreed on the phone. My sister tried to get her bracelet fixed and get the words scratched off but you did not hear her out. Instead you yelled over her as if she were not a customer. Once again, completely unprofessional and unprovoked on such a small matter. The only reason she “agreed” to the refund is because she was forced to. My sister could not hear herself over Anjalis yelling and inappropriate slander being thrown toward her as she tried to get her rights as a customer, leaving her no choice but to take her money back at the least. If that’s how you get all your customers to agree to something, it’s concerning. Threatening to call the police and claiming she threatened you is completely unnecessary and frankly, childish for a grown woman and a so called “business”.
Many years ago my dad gave me his Navy ID bracelet from WWII. I kept it in my jewellery box and never wore it; the bracelet chain had broken and it was made from a "mystery" metal that wasn't particularly attractive. The ID part was gold filled with a silver backing, in good shape and pleasing to the eye. A couple weeks ago I brought it to this shop and asked if anything could be done so I could wear it every day. The owner and his son were helpful and very pleasant. I typically wear silver jewellery so they suggested a lovely bracelet similar in style to the original. They fit it on the ID part, along with a safety chain. They took the time to lightly polish the ID part making sure that no damage was done to the inscription of my dad's name on it. I know this was not a large financial transaction for this business but I got the distinct impression that they knew how valuable this piece was from a sentimental point of view. My dad died in 2018 and I'm so happy I now get to wear this keepsake every day. Thank you so much Stirring!!
My wife had jewelry repaired here. They did a poor job, wrong colour stones, poor gold manipulation (flattened and disfigured the gem holder and pattern around the gem). Store clerk tried to gas light and said stones match when originals were much less yellow. Requested enlargement on a thick ring and left extra gold so they could add it so it doesn’t thin the band. They stretched the band and didn't clean the gold before, which created cavitation when they tried to add volume to the band. They had lots of my spare gold left over and the band was significantly thinner from being stretched. Transaction was in Sept 2021. Not using this store for jewelry repair again. Had to pay to have the pieces repaired again with the stones that match at a different shop.
My wife and I visited Stirring Jewelry in November 2022 and we had an excellent experience. The customer service was exceptional, including the friendly initial visit and expert assessment, the helpful call from the jeweler to discuss details, and the final pick-up. Prices were reasonable and we were particularly pleased to learn that they did all the work in-house rather than shipping it off to some other location. My wife's wedding band looks like new, fits better than before, and isn't causing any more irritation. We wouldn't hesitate to go back. Thank you!!
I had a repair done. It was done in a timely fashion. The price I felt was a little steep for what was done. Could have been a little more finished, i felt, especially because the repair I had to the chain previously was less than half the cost. So will I go back, yes, because of Speed of Service. My first repair, which was a broken chain link my wife brought in, was done better, And cheaper. so I was a little confused.
He is an amazing jeweler who has done a few custom additions to already existing older rings for me. His craftsmanship is second to none. His pricing is very fair and honest. I am extremely pleased with the outcome of both of my items. Thank you so much Stirring! I would definitely come back for more custom jewelery.
I had ordered a pearl necklace online. It was a really nice experience. They took the time to understand my requirements and the end result was exactly as I had pictured. The finish was also great. I would have liked to have received it earlier but I believe online delivery takes some more time.
Amazing service. Joe and Angeli are warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. Joe helped me with the design for a pendant for a ruby that I had brought to him for my girlfriend. The pendant is gorgeous and the chain I bought from him is equally beautiful. I definitely will be back.
I took two rings for re-designing to Stirring Jewelry and was very happy with the new rings. The detailed craftmanship and views from all sides are beautiful to my eyes. The re-designed rings filled all my expectations.
horrible service. botched the engravings on my bracelet then threatened to call the cops on my girlfriend??? at no point was anyone threatened. the only threatening behavior was from the staff themself. laughable
Went there to install a new hook for the vintage pendant. Pendant was nicely cleaned up and hook is perfectly matching the chain. The price was good, the job was done on time.
Wonderful work done on replacing a missing stone and literally rebuilding an older but cherished ring! Such helpful people and excellent service!
Always, always, always so pleasant! Pleasure to go there! Lovely people! Great family run local business! I can’t give them enough stars!
5 star experience. They were able to modify an engagement ring for us and it never looked better. They made my dream ring happen!!
Tremendous job on a delicate resizing. Anjali and Joe are honest, friendly, and I would not hesitate to return to them!
Joe made me the most beautiful ring - quite stunning. I was delighted by the result. Thanks Joe!!
