I try not to post negative comments, and stick mostly to rating with the stars when there’s a place I don’t like because let’s face it, our opinions are all very subjective and usually speak to one instance in time. But with this Swiss Chalet, I have to make an exception. They are the absolute worst when it comes to forgetting things in your take-out order. We have been frequenting this location for a decade and almost every time we order takeout or delivery, the bag is missing something. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for them to correct this bad habit, it happens way too often and not just to us. They literally have a log they keep to jot down your info when you call to complain so that they can add the forgotten item to your next visit. That’s a bandaid, not a solution. Could you not train your staff better to ensure no order leaves the kitchen without a quality check or bag check to ensure all items are in the bag? It’s as simple as taking 30 seconds to read the receipt and account for each item… Seems like a common sense step they should implement, but like I already said this has been happening consistently over the decade my family have been ordering from this location and it’s never changed. It’s always a gamble ordering delivery whether we’re going to be happy or irritated… again. I hate giving them my business, but it’s one of the few places my picky eaters will eat from so I deal with it, begrudgingly. I recommend GOING THERE to pick up the order so that you can check your bag before leaving because lord knows how quick those delivery drivers run from your door as soon as they hand you the bag. 1 star because if they don’t care to break their habit, I don’t care to give this review any additional stars.

Food was good. Staffs were friendly. Food came out relatively quick. There were a few reasons why I didn't give 5 ⭐. 1. Appetiters came, but no plates or cutlery to eat with. We had to ask for it. 2. Entries came, they put them on the table and left hurriedly. One of the kids' meal was supposed to be corn for the side, got fries instead. I asked for "seasoned" fries, but got regular fries. Staff: "I don't know what seasoned fries are, but I do know what chalet fries are." I kid you not, their own menu says "fresh cut fries" and "seasoned fresh cut fries". I guess even their own staff doesn't know their own menu. 3. My kids love mayo with their nuggets/tenders so we asked for some. "Sure I'll bring you some packets", but forgotten. 4. My bottomless softdrink was also neglected. Didn't get a single refill even though I left the empty cup at the end of the table. We tried to flag the staff down for help for the condiments and drink but felt ignored. 5. The floor at our seat was honestly, nasty. It was comparable to what you call it, a skating rink. 6. This is a warning for families with younger kids. If they move a lot during their meals, try to keep an eye on them and not let them smash their head on the back rest in the booth seats. The cover pattern made it look like there are cushions but it's just a piece of thin fabric no thicker than my t-shirt. I even ram my elbow on it when I was moving about, that was painful.

Don't even waste your time with this restaurant. If I could rate any lower, I would. Placed an order for Thanksgiving 2 months ago. Had nothing but issues, made a complaint & still have not heard back from anyone. Ordered takeout prescheduled the night before for pickup at 6pm Sunday, Oct 9. It was Thanksgiving and a significant order after all, figuring the heads up would allow staff to he prepared, was absolutely pointless. Arrived at pickup time to just be told it would be a long wait still, was told maybe an hour once I asked for a better estimate time. Ended up being an hour and a half before I got my food, and multiple items were missing. -6 lindors (received 2/8 for 2 feasts) -1 cranberries -1 side order potatoes + gravy -1 pumpkin pie -2 lemon pie Both family feasts were supposed to be cut into 1/4, one was 1/2 Watched as multiple customers came and left before me, most of which had just called in that evening. Restaurant should have stopped accepting orders until already existing orders could be fulfilled. The lack of organization or communication between staff and customers was astonishing. Another customer and I asked to speak to a manager and the girl at counter dissappeared to the back and came out with a clipboard and no more mention of our manager request. Completely ignoring out questions if a manager was coming out or not. My food came out before anyone did to talk to us & I refused to wait any longer after 1 1/2 hours.

Horrible experience using their walk-in / takeout counter. A couple months back I decided on getting a family dinner from here and to be honest, while the food was your typical SC fare, the service was rude and wish I had just walked out. I explained to the man on duty (at the till), that I wanted a family style dinner and asked what were my options ...and if there were any type of specials on at the moment. At first he (pretended?), seemed not to have heard me (which I can understand due to the mask we now wear), but as I continued to place my order It became apparent that he could care less about me, my needs and if I were a customer nor not. After asking again about the menu options he pointed to the menu board (see image) and said nothing else. I explained that I wasn't wearing my glasses and could not see what was there clearly.. even with glasses it would be difficult as the board is very BUSY and lettering small. In one of the images that was my view, the other zoomed in. Still no help, so I asked if they still had the whole chicken and sides combo they used to have (it's been about 8 years since we last had SC). he said yes, I then proceeded to ask what were my side options. He left the front in an annoyed manner and had a young lady come out to help me. She was awesome (wish I got her name). Explained what my options were and different add-ons I could get if I wanted. Sadly I will not be returning to this location.

I'll start with the positives. Kids eat free with each adult entree, and the kids portions are a lot. It's relatively cheap in price over all. Now, the cons and the reason for 1 star. We sat down just before 5pm, we got our menus and by the time the waitress came we knew our drinks and our orders. Apps came put rather quickly just after our drinks, we were short one plate and one set of utensils but then we waited 45 minutes for our 1st kids mean to show up. Then 15 minutes after that I had to leave my seat to find someone to ask what was going on with the rest of the food. Then they only brought 3 more meals after another 5-7 min wait we got the last meal. In this process we stacked our dirty dishes from the apps they didn't bother to clear it until I mentioned they were taking up space. After the kids are we asked for their deserts and told them (now 615) we had to get going and wanted the bill as well, we are still here waiting. I have wrote the whole review from the time we asked for the kids deserts and the bill and still nothing has shown. They value their takeout more than their dine in. I'm sure I'll have more to add but ill leave it at that wish us luck

I can’t rate the food because I didn’t get any. I called on a rainy night to get some chicken noodle soup and a chicken sandwich. I placed my order for pick up. I arrived at the location and the gentleman that was working said there was no order there for me. There was a huge language barrier with this gentleman. He kept checking and telling me no order came in for me. They didn’t receive it. I called Swiss Chalet and spoke to someone. She wasn’t very nice or helpful. She said my order showed in her system as there and ready for pick up. This is where the unhelpful part comes in. She was asking me all kinds of ridiculous questions instead of calling the store to find out what was happening and have it delivered to me. It was painful. I had to ask her to please just call the store. She then put my on hold for well over ten minutes. I think she went on break. I finally gave up. No soup for me. I was exhausted, hungry, it was raining there were many car accidents that evening. There was no way I was going back out. Disappointed is an understatement as I hadn’t done groceries. Hence the take out. Update, Swiss Chalet tried calling me back and I missed their call. I called today. The notes in the computer said the store was closing that’s why my order wasn’t there. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. NEVER AGAIN!!

We celebrated my papa's 96th birthday at this location on the 28th. My aunt called to make reservations so they were aware of how many people were in our party (13). The reservation was for 630. The waitress was new and it was her first day. Absolutely ridiculous to have someone waiting a big table by themselves on their first day. We didn't get our meals until 830. 2 hours to wait for food is astonishing. The restaurant was closing and there was no guests by the time we left. All of our checks were incorrect and charged for things we didn't even order. We got our appetizers with our meal instead of before. Most of our meals were incorrect. My aunt didn't even get her meal until the whole table was basically done eating. There was no manager to speak to. We brought up our frustrations to another server and she just said, "sorry.. we are all strapped today.. I came in on my day off" we had family who lived an hour to 2 hours away... I myself - and hour with a baby. I felt so bad for the new server being put in that position with no help from anyone. It truly was a bad experience from start to end.

An absolute nightmare last night. Have some pride/accountability Swiss Chalet... Walk in to pick up my take-out order last night and there's about 10 people crammed into that area. Every single person was being told their food wasn't ready/ that they'd specified a later pick-up time. I get to the counter and (surprise!) my food isn't ready. A kitchen staff member walks out and tells me my pick-up time was an hour away. Let's look at this logically Swiss Chalet, because it's not rocket science. Who do you think is in the wrong...the 10 random strangers who all coincidentally showed up too early...OR THE PERSON/SYSTEM TAKING THE ORDERS??? I would've rather you just flat out told us 'our bad, we're behind.' as opposed to attempting to put the blame on a large group of random people. Side note: When I came back an hour later and picked up the food, more problems ensued: 1.) My salad didn't come with croutons or dressing. 2.) The 1/4 chicken dinner was cold, and 3.) it came with a red sauce that was insanely oily and spicy with no chalet sauce to be found anywhere. Admit when you're wrong Swiss Chalet. Had you been honest with us I wouldn't be writing this review.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch today at this location. Andy's food is always piping hot and particularly tasty, like the original Swiss Chalet in the east end decades ago. We love this particular restaurant! Our server Amber was very attentive and friendly despite tending to several tables. She possesses a unique pleasant manner, an asset to this business! Thanks folks for such a genuinely efficient and delicious dining experience! Most recently, I attended on Thursday, July 12, with my Mother-in-law for lunch. We received excellent service from our waitress, but the meals were sub-par. We were really disappointed. The "extra crispy" Chicken tasted processed, the sauce was very bland and the tomatoes on the burger were pathetic, considering the tomatoes now available! The tea was extremely weak, why not provide a better quality tea? The fries were almost inedible, some were anemic, the rest were burnt little pieces. Our family frequents this location almost every week. Not at all impressed with this most recent visit!

Arrived at 5pm on a Sunday with a table for 3 people. Took the server over 10 minutes just to ask us for our drinks. After finally getting served we ordered our drinks and our food. 20 minutes later we had our waitress come up to us to inform us that they didn’t have mashed potatoes, fine we get things can be busy. Another 20 minutes later she comes to tell us that they don’t have buns for the special roast beef sandwich. Then another 20 minutes we got our food. Waitress served the table behind us 3-4 times before paying attention to us and it came to us raising our voice to get her attention. People in table behind us also visibly frustrated after waiting 20+ minutes to be told they don’t have dessert. I’ve been coming to this restaurant every Sunday for the last 2 weeks and the service has never been this terrible. We understand things can happen and unexpected rushes but communication is expected when delays are happening.

The family sitting beside us took 2 hours to get their meal. We have been ignored since being seated. The server actually looked directly at us and then turned away as if we didn’t exist. The bar is unmanned. They have left dirty dishes on the bar as well as cleaning chemicals. They aren’t usually this bad. Understaffed? Overworked? Who knows? Very sad. We really used to like this place. Is this the new normal or anomaly? Update: after lodging a formal complaint, I was contacted by the manager of the restaurant and was offered a credit. We took him up on the offer and the food and service were wonderful. However, he explained to me in person that there are still staffing and training issues which probably won’t be resolved for a few weeks. Therefore, the 3 star rating. It is going to be a bit of a crapshoot for awhile longer. That said, the manager Joseph Perez is a 5 star guy and his staff that night equalled him. I hope that they will get back up to their normal level of excellence soon.

Terrible service, food quality was horrible including a fully frozen piece of pie. The server got my specific order wrong, informed her of a food allergy and all they did was wipe it off the plate, it was still on my bread and my potato. I asked to see the manager/owner...TWICE. Refused to come to my table and address it. On my way out I asked again to see the manager but the bar server was too affraid to tell the manager she had an upset customer.She said she couldn't tell the manager what I said because she wasn't as big as me? What the hell does that mean? Waste of money and time at this location. Will never return again. Also saw the busboy wiping a table down with a rag, dropped it on the floor and began using the same rag on the table. Beyond disgusting. If I could give a negative star on here I would. Never again will I go to Swiss Chalet on Golf Links.

Picked up some stuff there. Was Take out. The potatoes were so burned. I don’t think it should be given to my dogs Staff was friendly and place looked cleaned Nothing special about it. It’s a place to grab a bit with the family. I’ve had great food from Swiss chalet. However this is the first time I’ve bought from this location at golf links Ancaster. Was a bit surprised when I opened the bag and saw 3 very burnt potatoes with my foods. Sadly disappointed. I expected better from a big chain company like this. UPDATE- management reached out to me and tried to rectify the issues. They did care and was very sorry it happened. It is an amazing place. They do care about their customers. I will definitely be going back. As customer service is hard to find in many places these days. Thank you management. Much appreciated you cared enough to reach out.

My son and I stopped in for lunch on August 10/22 at 1pm.. Lorane was our waitress.. she rang in our orders separately for some reason, so I was served first ..my chicken and fries were soggy and cold when they came out, but the chicken spring rolls were crispy..by the time my sons food arrived, my chicken/fries tasted like refrigerated “leftovers”…She asked us WHILE CHEWING OUR FOOD (as she was walking by) how everything was but didn’t wait for us to swallow, so we didn’t get to tell her about the awful meal they served me.. my sons chicken burger was good however, and his fries were crispy...the waitress seemed uninterested in listening to/serving us, let alone working here period. They should of at least comped my meal? Won’t be returning to this location.. we have never had any issues with the Upper James location..

I had the worst experience at Swiss chalet Ancaster tonight. Me and my family decided to order takeout food curbside pickup. We placed the order at 6:30 pm and got to the store at the pickup time at 7:15pm, and let them know we are here. 10 mins go buy soon we are outside for over 30 mins. We then decide to call the store and see what is happening, they don’t even answer. After waiting another 10 mins we have to go into the store to speak to someone- we ordered curbside pickup due to immunocompromised family members and wanted to avoid unnesaey contact. To our surprise the manager comes out and non challantely tells us they have no chicken left . My main question is why couldn’t someone call us and tell us this why were we left at the back of the building for over 30 mis! We definantly will not be visiting this location again.

Worst Swiss in History! If you plan to dine in or take out from this location pack a suitcase as you are going to be there for a while. When ordering take out for pick up; plan that your dinner won't be ready on time... any times I've been told the restaurant doesn't start prepping the dinner until the orderer has arrived for pick up. If you order for delivery; plan that your dinner will arrive 30-45 mins late and WILL be missing items (this has happened EVERY time I have ordered from this location). If ordering on a weekend; know that this location doesn't carry sufficient amounts of food. Ribs sell out by 5:30pm on Saturdays. If ordering after 5:30 your dinner will be switched to a chicken option. It really is sad, the restaurant is in a good location and has a great layout but the staff and management clearly don't know how to run a restaurant.

In-store experience has always been satisfactory but take out is not. First and foremost the phone number listed anywhere will never be answered by the store the system is designed so you can talk to the store directly and they purposely put their phone on a loop and never answer it. I want to talk to the store directly because the call center has screwed up my order in the past and they just did it again got the order wrong forgot swish la sauce if you can believe that and they wouldn't even answer the phone for their own call center to call to complain for me $110 wasted evening ruined which by the way was requested by a family member that will soon no longer be with us thanks Swiss chalet. please note one star because it wouldn't let me post with none

Ancaster Swiss Chalet tonight, worst experience ever. 30 minutes to receive appetizers, (spring rolls that came with the special), then after 60 minutes we enquired about food (1 burger and fries, 3 1/4 chicken dinners with salads). No response from server. Found the manager and she told us the kitchen was out of chicken. Probably 10 more minutes before food...maybe longer (now over 90 minutes since placing order.) She said running a restaurant was complicated with 'lots of moving parts.' We gave up and went to McDonald's. Still had to pay for appetizers (25% off, how generous). Been going to this location for over 17 years and it was ALWAYS great! No apology from manager. Filled out the online complaint form, but under no illusions this will be resolved. We won't ever be back.

After going inside was told no chicken left while I was waiting out there for a very long time and no one would even come out to tell what was happening. Worst customer service experience tonight will never be coming back to this location horrible communication and service. We’ve ordered taketout from here 5 or so times in the last 6 months and at least 3 times it was very unsatisfactory. My order is consistently missing/wrong items and some of the food is not good quality. A few times a whole side order of salad is missing, the little donuts are stale and hard, or a appetizer order of poutine will be a ‘side’ size. Also a few times I did get certain side items I can see it is old by the sticker on the container, as well as seeing lettuce a bit browned/wilted. Best Swiss Chalet I have ever gone too. The food came out hot and fresh. The fries were delicious - hot, a nice crisp and perfectly salted. If I could give negative stars I would. Went for chicken and ribs there last night around 730pm. Was fairly empty. Store was pretty dirty everywhere especially floors that felt like they were covered in grease. But anyway ordered 2 pops and some appetizers along with our meals. Apps came fairly quick, then 30-40 minutes after apps had arrived the waitress came to the table and told us that they were out of white meat chicken and also out of ribs plus other items on the menu, and that they were closing the restaurant for the night. Where is my food or the refund? I ordered supper for my family on Monday and 6 items from my order were missing. I have called the call centre, help line and the restaurant every single day since trying to get ahold of someone for a refund and no one has called me back. Spending 1.5hrs on various holds waiting for the right agent to help me Monday night was frustrating enough. I've left 4 messages requesting for a manager to call me over this week and not a single call back. They don't answer their phone! I'm so frustrated... I'll have to drive across town and walk into their restaurant to be helped I guess.

Terrible customer service. We try to give them a chance every year or so and are repeatedly disappointed. Definitely avoid this location whenever possible. 1) online order times are usually an hour from the time of placing the order and when you arrive, it takes at least 10 minutes for someone to answer the counter 2) there is at least a 15 minute way from the estimated time to pick up your order. 3) they will often add extra charges for things like condiments or even special instructions even though the website or app doesn’t ask for it It’s a shame as I like the food.

Interesting experience dining in after 6 months of having to use takeout. I appreciated the tracking of guests, so if anyone tested positive for covid-19, they'll let other guests know. The only complaint was after I received my rib and wing dinner, the ribs were dry and tough. I spoke to a Manager, and he could only offer a credit on my next meal. I could've waited for another rib, but I didn't want to wait for a fresh one. My friend got a coffee afterwards, and could tell it was sitting for a while. All in all, an interesting experience back in the dining area.

New review: The Ancaster Swiss Chalet said they would make it up to us if we gave them another chance. I'm very happy to report the experience was quite different this time. Our server was an experienced person and got us our drinks right away. The food was good and plentiful. A pleasant experience. Old review: It took 21 minutes to get our drinks, after we found out they didn't have club soda, then they didn't have sparkling water, eureka they had lemonade. Server was inexperienced and didn't know how to cut to the chase. Sauce was salty, sweet potato fries that I paid an extra $3 were mangled. $81 for three people, thanks next time I'll just eat at home.

One star is far to generous. Worst experience at a restaurant ever. Saturday night the restaurant should be prepared for the busiest night of the week this was no where near the case. Reservations were for 5pm food did not start coming out until 6:30, parts of the order were missing and had to go to get our own utensils. Swiss Chalet in Ancaster has sunk to a new low and has lost our business and judging by the number of people who left a lot more. Management is definitely not capable of running a busy restaurant. Terrible experience and will definitely pass this on and will not recommend this place to anyone.

I visited one of my favourite restaurants in town yesterday, which was very busy due to the pleasant weather. My meal took an hour to arrive and unfortunately, it was cold - quarter chicken, back ribs and a baked potato. Clearly the kitchen staff were exhausted; I noticed that one table had been served spring rolls twice and I even got two baked potatoes with some scattered fries on my plate. I wasn't able to eat any of them. To avoid issues like this, I recommend avoiding peak times at this restaurant. By the way, the store manager didn't show up to say sorry, that's why I am leaving a note for head office.

The Service was extremely extremely bad. i walked in around 6 there's roughly 4-5 waiter working and only 6 ish active table. there was at least 5 people( different group) standing next to me waiting for someone to bring them inside. I made eye contact with all 4 of the waiter and tried to wave at them to get some help but they ignore me and I stood there for 10 minute no one trying to help me get a table or anything. So I deiced to leave. BTW this isn't the first time it happened last time i was with groups of friend and got ignored by everyone who was working there so we decided to leave.

Came for dinner the other day and when I left I wasn’t thinking about the food. All I could think about was how clean the dishes were when I was eating. I was so amazed by how clean the dishes were I had to get the name of the person who put some much time and love into making sure the dishes are spotless and that person is the one and only Harrison. I will for sure be returning if I know that Harrison is there to make sure that my dishes are clean!!

The staff were very accommodating & courteous to our residents in wheelchairs. The only concern was the button at the front was not working.

Ordered food using their delivery service. After an hour wait, the wrong meal was delivered to our house. We ordered 5 quarter chicken meals, and received one half rack of ribs and one quarter chicken. This means not only did our food not come, someone else did not get their meal. Then after calling customer service, they delivered our food another hour later completely cold. Ruined the entire night as family left for sports and had no time to eat the nice freezing cold food they delivered two and a half hours late.

This store has had quality issues for the last 20 years, and today reminded me why. I ordered a chicken and rib family deal (2 soups, 1 green bean, 1 fry) with an extra soup today for takeout. As a life long Swiss Chalet customer it's sad to see a chain go down hill. The overall experience in the restaurant sad. Understaffed, only 4-5 tables with customers in the restaurant during peak hours but the two staff were overrun and everything you'd expect .... slow service, dirty table etc. that results from that. When back again one more try, must give the staff highest marks for doing their best while being understaffed again. It's purely an ownership issue, they choose to understaff the restaurant.

Omg service is hit and miss at the restaurant. Yesterday, because of our poor dining experiences we opted to order take out. This location couldn’t even get this right. After placing my order and was told it would be a half hour wait, 42 minutes later they tell me they can’t find my order. Manager got involved, couldn’t find my receipt, apparently my name went from Tom to Doug? This is our last time visiting this location it’s nothing short of a disaster. Chicken was good service is not. I’ll drive out of my way to avoid this location

Received my order, missing was the butter requested, no salad dressing or bbq sauce. Unfortunately not a new issue. Some orders ago a order of fries were missing. Food was great, service below par.

I had the extreme pleasure to be served by Hannah. From her personality, engagement, suggestions and GREAT customer service. The food was delicious. I haven't been for over 8 year's as I was living abroad. Hannah and I had a lovely conversation after my meal. Well done Swiss Chalet. These are the types of students that make you great.

We use to order here once a week for family dinners, never had issues until the past couple months, we get delivery usually, we keep giving them chances to get our order right but unfortunately we still either miss something or they give us the wrong thing :( So sad considering this was a family favourite! Last order I was missing three items! How does that even happen so often , we will be looking for a new Friday night place for our family

Do you see how tiny this desert is? Seriously I paid for this? I can’t believe you would charge for this! We went to this location and it was bad. Service was good but the quality and quantity of food was upsetting. We have gone to other locations and had way more and it was way better. We will not be back here. The cheese cake is no bigger in length than my coffee cup from Timmies. So tiny! It’s like they gave me half a piece

Ordered food around 5pm as I left my house. Got to the restaurant about 5-10 minutes after I left my house. I was waiting a few minutes to tell them I arrived. Worker come around and was asking about an order for someone else. I tell her no but I just put an order in and she said "it's ready,I'll bring it right out". I also proceed to tell her I made a change to my order but I was not sure if it went through (change of side dishes) she quickly went in and got me what I had asked for. Fast and friendly!

Put in an order to be picked up at 6:15, at 6:30 the order was still not ready, went to enquire about the order again at 6:40 and they had given the order to another Christina. Advised at 6:45 they need to remake the order. This is not the first time the food has not been available on the time specified on the order, but over 45 mins late? I'm not sure it's worth going back as recently the service has been fairly unreliable.

Will not come back to this location again waitress absent minded waited over 35 minutes for dinner . Our plates were ready but were taken to give to customers that came after us. So they only waited 15 min and all manager said was you only ordered half hour ago totally went over his head that he needs to train his staff that plates beling to table numbers so disappointed with this service so we took it to go as we had another commitment an hour we should have been out of there

I don’t usually eat at this place but I do recommend it because the workers here are really nice. Today was a hot summer day and I was out on my bike, I stopped by this place to get some air conditioning and cool down, when I first came in, a worker kindly greeted me and gave me a cup of water, I was allowed to stay in the place for a few minutes to cool down and I even got to take a few pictures of the restaurant. Overall, Its a nice looking place with friendly workers, I strongly recommend it

The Restaurant was very clean. The Hostess was great. The Waitress was very very friendly and polite. The food "Not so great". Honest. I ordered the my usual (Double chicken leg dinner) -- they were too dry and over cooked. The meat tasted like it wasn't cooked fresh. I didn't feel like complaining in front of my five co-workers. And we should not be complaining about the meal we are paying to eat. None of us finished our plates. We left the waitress a fair tip 15% -- she deserved it.

Disappointed, checked online for menu and shrimp dishes were offered so we decided to eat at Swiss Chalet today. Waitress told me that they didn’t have any shrimp any longer. The online menu should have been updated then! We did have a nice meal, hubby had half chicken and I had quarter chicken and ribs. No complaints just was disappointed that what I went there for and craved wasn’t offered any longer!

I stopped in for lunch and my waitress was Sherri. Honestly, this waitress was the best waitress I have ever had at any restaurant. Sherri made my Swiss Chalet experience amazing. Very knowledgeable and very kind. It felt like I was having lunch in her own kitchen! Thank you Sherri…..until next time!

I was looking forward to going to swiss chalet for awhile but after eating my roast beef dinner, it was a step up from cafeteria food. It was obviously a reheated dinner that was cold on a 1/3 of the plate and warmish on the rest with a bowl of hot gravy, I should have complained but my politeness got on the way. Anyway I was disappointed. I used to work at swiss chalet over 30 yrs ago , although they didn't have a tenth of what they serve now the quality was100% better.

Never had a bad meal here, the food is always consistently good. The classic quarter chicken dinner never disappoints, served with a ton of fries, hot roll, and piping hot sauce. Chicken noodle soup was good too. The spicy chicken sandwich could use a little refining though. Server was attentive, friendly and efficient, and our meals were brought out in good time. Comfortable decor, child friendly. Good value.

This Swiss Chalet has always been my favourite to go to. I went there over the weekend with a few friends for dinner and was provided by the most welcoming & amazing service by Stephanie our waitress. She welcomed us with a friendly, warm smile and she was always attentive & took care of any needs we had during our meal. I will highly recommend this establishment due to their friendly staff & outstanding service. It is a great family restaurant to go to.

It had been many years since I last had a meal at Swiss Chalet, but I decided to get something quick as I was passing though Ancaster. My server, Stephanie, was very friendly and helped me narrow down the many options on the menu. Stephanie was very attentive throughout the meal and was clearly able to manage working under pressure as the restaurant was very busy that evening. Would definitely return and appreciate the outstanding service from Stephanie!

We usually just order take out, and if I decide to have swiss chalet again it will only be take out, I've never had such bad service. The food was good, but I finished my water before the meal came out (another server brought out our food) not once during the meal did our server stop by and ask how the meal was or of I'd like a refill. (She walked by a few times and didnt even look our way) I was going to order a Caesar but never got the opportunity.

We haven't gone here for some time but since it was a 'snow day', we took the whole family. It was unusual in that there were only 3 people beside us in the whole place, and only one waitress. The service of course was great. The food also was good; large helpings and fairly tasty. We had the burgers, which looked good and I had the third chicken and ribs combo. The decor was interesting and had that chicken coop, industrial feel. Would recommend it.

We came for chicken (healthy choice , reasonably priced) BUT we come back (every week) because of Sheri, our server. We can always count on her to put a smile on our faces and piping hot, fresh food on our table quickly. We have never, ever, ever had an issue when Sheri is in. Her work ethic and sense of humour is second to none. We came for chicken … and made a friend.

On Sunday evening, We were at the Rymal Road location in Hamilton and the restaurant was packed. Nancy and her staff handled the customers calmly and professionally. Servers had a smile throughout the feeding frenzy. This location is smaller than all the Swiss chalets so beware and be patient.

Highly disappointed with everything we ordered. Started off with chicken soup and spring rolls, both the items were so off. We managed to finish the soup but spring rolls we tried one each and left it. Next we got the quarter chicken. The skin was so salty and dry and the chicken itself was super dry. We barely managed to eat it. Lastly we tried their Lemon Meringue we had one bite and just couldn't eat any further. It tasted so artificial.

My server Hannah H was very friendly and polite. She was above and beyond food was very tasty and food came fast Will come back again TY Hannah for your great service.

My daughter was very happy with her chicken tenders

Sat down and table was SO sticky my purse stuck to it. Asked for a beer and water. Didn't get water and beer was so full it poured all over the table. We got our meal and they had forgotten the appetizer. It arrived halfway through the meal. Waitress avoided us because she knew she messed up! Never asked if everything was ok. GHOSTED. Service terrible food was good.

It's pretty standard fare, if you grew up in Canada you know what to expect and all the locations I've been to meet standard corporate consistency. The chicken is never chewy, that's probably my main endorsement. Service like anywhere else can depend on who the employees are at the time but it's usually good. The portions are filling but not glutinous. I usually go because someone else i know likes them but I enjoy it

Ordered delivery from this location. Very disappointed the meals showed up without the bun or sauce or any utensils, butter etc. Fries were cold, unsalted or seasoned. Kinda takes the whole experience away when it's incomplete. Obviously as long time customers we know what to expect and this just wasn't it.

Love coming in for dinner or for family events! Such a great and family based restaurant that is perfect for a family night out. In our experience we always request for Jessica to be our waitress. She is such an amazing and happy gal who takes extra care of her tables and makes sure that everything is the way it should. Highly recommend requesting Jessica as your waitress, I promise you won’t regret it! :)

Great waitress. Love the Roast Beef. Love the fries. Too bad it is not on the menu permanently. Ancaster Swiss Chalet could use a sprucing up. It is looking a bit worse for wear.

The waitress gave good service but the kitchen took over an hour to prep 2 chicken wraps...1 dark meat and the other white meat...after all that time, they both came out with white meat!!!You could tell the restaurant was understaffed!!

Our meal today was excellent. The chicken breast was just slightly dry but it was quite large and tasty. The fresh-cut fries were amazing... They were so hot that I couldn't eat them at first... Beautifully crispy on the outside and soft in inside... These fries are the best in the business! The service was quick and friendly as well. I always recommend Swiss Chalet... Love the food!

No lettuce... so decided to get wrap. They are really bad. Premade, wasn't warmed through. Soggy. Yuck. We also had chicken and ribs which were really good. Our waitress was really lovely.

Customer service for me makes or breaks an experience at any restaurant. If the service is amazing and the food is great I definitely come back again and again. Melissa our server was incredible. She made our evening with her attentiveness, great personality and wonderful service. All restaurant experiences should be like the one we received during our visit, I'm very impressed.

I went on a Wednesday evening and it was fairly empty. Because of this the service was very good. We were attended too quickly and often to make sure we had everything. Our drinks we're refilled without any delay and different courses were brought out with amazing timing. The food all tasted very good. The restaurant was tidy and looked inviting. The staff was all very kind.

Absolutely terrible service - waiting 1 hour for take out for two chicken dinners when was told it was a 15 minute wait. Horrendous. Will never be going be back. This is the second experience at this location and both have been horrible. First was dine in with terrible slow service and wrong food being served.

I recently visited your Swiss chalet over the weekend. I had one of the best meals and was served by a awesome server named Stephanie. She was very accommodating, friendly and always came to our table with a smile. Would most deffenetly recommend going back to this Swiss. I also would ask again for Stephanie as our waitress as she once again did a fantastic job!

Me and my family have ordered from this location multiple times, and every time something is either wrong, arrives late, or we are missing items that we payed for . highly do not recommend ordering from this location because they clearly do not care about what they are giving us, and rush the orders crazy.

Ate at this location for the first time this week and we were not disappointed, I think it has to be the best location in the area! The food was hot and tasty and the portions were very generous. Inside, the restaurant is clean and has a great family atmosphere Our server Marcella was very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to coming back in the future

I ordered my food a head of time. I was told 1 hour for pickup. 1 hour and 45 minutes later I still had no order. 11 people waiting for over an hour and none of us were served! I finally left. There is no staff at this restaurant to serve take out. That's poor management if no one wants to work for you!

The restaurant itself is unremarkable BUT… I’m past 80, live near Point Pelee and must travel to Toronto 6-8 times for medical reasons. I was fortunate enough to have served by Sheri on my 1st visit and was immediately recognized on each of my subsequent 4 visits. This individual is the sole reason for my patronage.

This Swiss might be the best one out there! I always enjoy my time at this Swiss location, and the food is always amazing! Not to mention, the waitress Stephanie that served me and my family. Stephanie was extremely friendly, easy to talk to, and always makes us feel welcome when we come in. Will definitely come back for more!! :)

I placed my order at 1 pm for 610 pick up they told me 20 mins when I came as they were running low on chicken. The manager gave us appetizers coupons but I have found this seems to happen quite a bit with them. It is now 647 and I am still waiting.

I went to this location for the first time and Lenora was my server. She was able to provide my family and i with many different suggestions as to what to eat as I have a very picky family. She was very patient and very kind. I would definitely go back to this location and have her as my server again! Very kind lady

Two issues with this location tonight on a take out order. 1) They did not check the order properly and packaged a quarter chicken instead of the half chicken dinner I ordered. Very disappointing. 2) The size of the chicken is ridiculous. I've seen more meat on a pigeon. I will not ever go back to this location.

Best chicken and fries!! Always a great experience at swiss chalet. New manager is amazing and out on the floor helping the staff to seat customers and serve food. Very accommodating as we had a baby with us. He sat us in a private section with lots of room for our stroller and baby. Food was hot and delicious!

My son just picked up two large chicken soups because I’m sick. I tried calling the restaurant but you were closed. The soup tasted like someone added hot water to fill up whatever was scooped in there. Hardly and noodles. Tasteless. So disappointed. Never again.

Ordered 4 quarter chicken meals. One meal was missing my chicken. Called and was placed on hold for 30 min, ended up calling the 1800 and all they did was give me a 13.00 credit to Swiss Chalet! Not impressed, ruined my meal and now I have to go out if my way again to order for another day.

Stephanie was so great! She was quick and very friendly. Recommended the great menu items. She even got most of the things that we were already going to ask for. When we needed more napkins it was already on the table. Being a server myself she was very attentive and very quick!
