"Such a nice spot for a date night or an outing with friends and family"
Great atmosphere under the stars. Good reception from the staff, people are courteous, picture and sound quality was great, the blankets were ok. The movie was just too long for me, 2 hours and 40 minutes is a bit much. Next time I'll check the duration online so that I don't leave before the movie ends.
A wonderful experience. I enjoyed being surrounded by nature whilst watching a movie on a giant screen. The sound quality was phenomenal. I loved the feeling of connected-ness that came from everyone reacting and laughing together at the different scenes in the movie. :)
Loved it. Must do when in Cape Town. Brilliant place to start of with a picnic. The kids have fun with some activities, like the jenga blocks and checkers. Then the on screen trivia before the movie starts. Very friendly staff and well organised.
First time at an open air theatre and throughly enjoyed it. I would suggest getting there well before the movie starts as spots fill up quite quickly and it’s hard to find somewhere to sit, but once you’re settled it’s fantastic. The vibe
Such a nice spot for a date night or an outing with friends and family. The food vendors provide a couple of comfort food options (pizza, burgers, wraps) that make it easy to get a bite to eat at the venue. Make sure to get there as early
Felt like the screen was too small for the amount of people in attendance. The back rests are very uncomfortable, the irony of my ticket being the “warm and comfy” ticket. The movie was roughly 3 hours long (lord of the rings), could not
Lovely night out at Kirstenbosch. No problem checking in staff friendly. Food stalls a variety I opted for a falafel wrap vegan R110 bought an oat latte at the stall nexdoor it was large but that was a medium cup for R50 thought it was a
A memorable experience! It was my first time and I'd love to go at least once a month for the experience. We saw a shooting star whilst the movie was playing which made it even that more special. The magic of being outdoors at night! The
Such a fantastic way to finish off your day at Kirstenbosch! We bought the Couple's Delight ticket which included backrests, blankets, popcorn, smarties and gummy sweets and we sat right at the front. Such an amazing atmosphere with food
Awesome atmosphere, lovely venue, amazing views, perfect for you and a mistress, perfect setting to take you to a place you both wish you are at forever, food trucks, with good food choices, just wish there was another Halaal option, it
Was there on Halloween night and it was wonderful. Love that they decorated and had staff dress up and scare people. Was my first time going there and will definitely do it again. Great selection of food, but can also bring your own.
We had such a lovely date at the open air cinema. We watched Mrs Harris Goes to Paris. Such a cute film. Loved the atmosphere and the burgers. Definitely get the ‘comfy’ option - the little recliners make all the difference!
Really lovely experience. I’d recommend the warm & comfy ticket where you get a back rest and blankets as it gets more chilly at night. You do need to bring an additional blanket / floor cover to sit on.
Galileo open air cinema, blankets were R10 and backrests R20. You are able to bring a blanket. This is recommended. It does become chilly the later the night goes on. Movie starts after sunset.
It has been a truly incredible experience, basking in the great outdoors, surrounded by both new and familiar faces, all sharing laughter while watching a captivating movie on the big screen."
We arrived at 17:40, (no signs to indicate that you have to park at the 2nd gate) there was a que, but they started letting people in before 6pm and the que went very quickly.
Everything is extremely organised from seating arrangements to chair collection etc. I had the best time walking in the Kirstenbosch garden and listening to vibey music!
Absolutely wonderful experience. A must do for all , families , with kids or without. Great date night. Pack a picnic and get a blanket and chair and just enjoy
I enjoyed a wonderful evening at Galileo Open Air Cinema, the food, drinks and snacks available were great. This is a lovely way to enjoy a movie.
Absolute stunning evening. Allocated parking area, no bad seats, sound was great and plenty of food and drink options. A great evening out.
So amazing experience to watch a movie under the stars with the love of my life. Thank you God for this blessed evening and your grace.
This was great fun! A great experience with friends or a romantic date night with a loved one! An experience not to be missed!
Loved every bit of it.... the entertainment before the movie started was really awesome! Can't wait to go to the next one.
Nice place good food and drinks, good sound , but chairs not comfortable especially for more than one hour …
Good experience of watching movies under the sky with amazing views and a breath of fresh air.
The open air cinema is amazing, such a nice thing for a girls night out or a first date.
