WARNING, the lady behind the counter is absolutely crazy! Please read full review. I will put my hand on a Bible as this is 100% truthful. I went to use the restroom and the employee kept knocking on the door every 30 seconds. I kept telling her "it's occupied....I'm busy" etc, and she kept knocking every 30-60 seconds. Keep in mind that I need no less than 100% concentration at this time. I was upset but did not raise my voice or call her names although I wanted to. When I was washing my hands the next set of knocks is where it gets interesting. She tries to say in english that if I don't leave in 1 minute she will call the police. Wow that escalated rather quickly! As I exit the washroom I hit record on my phone and what I captured could only be described as a stage 5 Karen in all of it's glory. I calmly asked her why she felt the need to harass me when I was trying to do....well, no need to describe. She told me to stop harassing HER (classic Karen spinOrama), so I asked again why she was doing that. Her boss or cousin that she had on speaker phone, in broken english, told her to "call 911 immediately!!!!! Ahhh, silly Karen, abusing our emergency services in an attempt to intimidate. Well, as Karen found out, I don't get intimidated easily. I told her I would gladly wait for the police as I have a background in law and correctional services, and would very much like to speak with them. For some reason she didn't call the police. I'm not sure why. Usually at stage 5 there is no possible way to communicate with or talk down a Karen; you simply say "Hey look over there, it's Donald Trump, and then when she's distracted you....well....run. Run like the dickens!!!! She then tells me that she will sue me and "Do not come back!" I was 100% polite and actually recorded most of the conversation because I know how litigious a Karen can be. I wish I had started recording earlier as this story seams too crazy to be true. This stuff happens to me all the time for some reason but I can say with 100% certainty that I was polite and didn't raise my voice. I just wanted to know why I was so rudely interrupted on the throne? Why Karen? Why? Anyone who goes to the Ultramar aka On the Go/Tim Hortons, near the 416 highway in Kars should be cautious. Although the Karen in its natural state seems harmless, much like the honey badger, or wolverine, will compensate for its size with extremely aggressive behaviour and an overwhelming sense of entitlement. I truly hope she finds peace in life and I hope this review saves at least one person from having a bad day like I had. Cheers!

I honestly feel bad writing something negative because the managers have always been nice to me but I have witnessed myself the female manager yelling at customers, you can get your point across with your words instead of yelling, this definitely is unprofessional & borderline harassment, no way of treating customers unless you want to loose business but my main issue is that she is very rude to my husband. She was always nice to him at first when she thought he was white, because he looks white. I know that sounds weird because there arab themselves and so is my husband but there catholic arabs and my husband is Muslim. From the first time he told her salam mualyakum she treated him differently ever since. For example I had to use the washroom and it was occupied, she told me to simply use the employee washroom, offered it with no hesitation yet the other day the customer washroom was disgusting so my husband wanted to use the employee washroom which she refused. Even though he was right and the washroom was disgusting and technically by law she’s not aloud to make that washroom an employee washroom since it’s a handicap washroom, it must be open for the public. I thought they we’re so nice but mistreating my husband for no good reason, basically religion based is discrimination and unethical. He needed a bag from the store the other day, to put his paint brush in, he offered to buy it and she still wouldn’t provide it to him. Although my experience has been good I can’t ignore how my husband has been treated. I also looked at the reviews online prior to writing mine and every customer that wrote a bad review with very good reason she took no accountability for her actions and basically explained why she was right and the customer was wrong. This is just bad business. You should hear out your customers not be so defensive because they make good points. Almost every time I’ve been I saw her yell at someone, if you don’t like people you shouldn’t be the face of the store, someone with more patience should be running it. She hasn’t apologized to one customer on these reviews, sometimes I didn’t have a good experience somewhere wrote a review and was offered a free dinner etc… she could at least offer apologies for yelling at people. What ever happened to the customers always right? If ppl get mistreated and yelled at they won’t want to support the store. Makes no sense to me

I've been frequenting this business from the day it opened, the owner-operators are always pleasant and friendly! I do know for a fact, cause I've witnessed it, people using the washrooms set-up for the gas bar and conviennce store customers, not spending a dime on gas or conviennce items, yet spending at Tim Hortons...this all costs these owner-operator's money! I also know that when you try to chat with these business owners it's not easy, there are machines running, the plexiglass, constant noise distraction..therefore voices are louder...if your working in this type of environment for hours daily, even when you walk out the door your voice remains loud. If you've ever worked in a science lab, hospital lab, any environment with noise distraction, you would understand. Unfortunately for many long after retirement their voices remain unreasonably loud. With regards to this Arab husband..like really, leave it in your homeland! Do you really know or think you know these owner/operators story! You don't and what you claim is so very wrong.

Extremely rude service! Its my mom’s 65th bday and my daughters wanted to select a scratch ticket for their nana. The lady lost it on me, thought i was buying them for my kids to scratch and play (ridiculous) I explained that they where picking out a scratch ticket to give to their nana and it wasn't for them as i was purchasing. She acted like it was a criminal defence, refused to serve us. What is gone wrong with the world ‍♀️ This not the first incident with this lady. As why im writing a review. If you cant compose yourself with the public you shouldn't be working in customer service best to stick you in the back where you can keep your mouth shut.

My family frequents this gas stations multiple times a day as it is close to home and closest store to us. We absolutely love the staff, especially the owners. They are friendly, kind and helpful people. We actually call the owner Basma, momma because she is like our family momma, she’s caring and is always asking how all the kids are and the whole family. It’s nice to live in a small community with great business owners like them. I actually forgot to lay once and she just waited until she saw me next to let me know as I didn’t even realize the transaction hadn’t gone through. Love this location and the stuff always a pleasant experience.

The manager came out and told me I can get supreme for the same price as regular because they were out of reg. When I went inside to pay, the lady at the cash was extremely rude to me while saying that I needed to pay full price. Even though I pumped after the manager told me to, the manager then came in, denied having spoke with me only a moment before, and claimed that it was my fault, while making a scene in front of many other customers. I decided to pay just so I could get out of there. I live very close by but needless to say I won't be giving them any more business nor will my family of my neighbours.

One star is generous considering the disrespect myself and my coworkers constantly have received from simply using the bathroom at this location. The older lady will not let you use the PUBLIC bathroom for more than 30 seconds without harassing you and knocking at the door. It is a basic human right and it is a public bathroom so I do not see the problem with using it. Let people do their business and they’ll be on their way. There’s no need to be disrespectful toward EVERY single customer who uses the bathroom? The reviews really tell you alot about this place, LISTEN TO THEM

Gas station is fine, but one of the cashiers (older woman), basically scolded me in front of the Tim Hortons because I took a chocolate milk out of the stores fridge and then decided to order my Tim Hortons order prior to paying for the chocolate milk. She boldly said that “they are not affiliated with the Tim’s hortons at all and all products must be purchased before crossing over to Tim’s”. And made me leave the area to pay for the milk. Just a very rude lady, I wasn’t gonna steal the milk- just thought I’d order my tea while there was no line.

The owner of the gas bar/timmies was unbelievably disrespectful, arrogant, and rude to us (snowmobilers). CLEARY DOES NOT SUPPORT SNOWMOBILERS NOR WANTS BUSINESS FROM THEM after he told us to immediately leave his property upon arrival. I asked him several times WHERE we can park but instead got yelled at. Disappointing and shameful after a day of riding to get turned around by are local tim hortons. I will be sure to not recommend this location to fellow snowmobilers from now on.

The owners of The Ultramar Kars, ON, Basma and Marwan are exceptional!! Always a wonderful greeting, they know immediately what I am there for and I don't even have to place my order over the counter order. It's sitting there ready for me to pay as soon as I walk through the door. Gas prices are always lower than surrounding stations. The owners are amazing, the Tim Hortons employees are amazing especially brad! but this lady with gray hair that works at the gas station part is so rude to my disabled father and my older mother. They go in there to cash their lottery tickets and the employee asks for them to go somewhere else because they can’t handle my dad‘s disability when he’s just standing there. What kind of human does this to another. Three people with disabilities with respect their people to.

Employee followed out and aggressively yelled at my girlfriend for using the bathroom and claiming that she made a huge mess and it wasn't the employee's job to clean up after her. I know that my girlfriend wouldn't leave a mess because she use to have to clean public bathrooms and knows how awful it is. Just from this interaction that employee should be let go and we won't be visiting this Ultramar again.

I honestly can't believe anyone would have something bad to say about these owners and their store. It's written everywhere PAY FOR YOUR GAS BEFORE TIM HORTONS. Follow the rules and there won't be an issue. Also, in regards to a previous review I read, stealing is stealing no matter the amount. The owners don't get the credit they deserve. Before you, Kars had NOTHING. So THANK YOU from my family.

Cashier was too busy watching a training video to say hi back to me. Bathrooms could've been cleaner Edit - I can't reply to the owner again, it seems. The bathrooms were not clean though. Maybe it appreaed that way at first glance because I had to do some cleaning myself before I felt safe using the toilet. But I appreciate the accountability and reply so I adjusted my review to reflect that

Older lady that works there is so rude. Asked for two bags of ice after paying she charged me for one. So ran out and yelling at me and accusing me of stealing when she made the mistake. I paid for gas with it as well 140 in gas but she accuses me of stealing and yelled at me. She need to learn how to speak to people as I kindly came back and paid for it and she was still yelling.

I did enjoy this gas bar. Was happy to spend thousands in gas. Knowing I was at least supporting local. Until unintentionally skimping out on 16.11 gas bill (thought I payed at the pump). Which was followed up with a call from the Ottawa police. At least I will have the satisfaction of knowing that they are loosing out on a lot more money from me than just $16.

Great new gas station to stop and get a few things. They have a very large selection of beverages, treats, snacks, lunches, pasteries and many other items to choose from. Plus the normal vehicle essentials, like gas, diesel, oil, windshield fluid, propane and etc. There is a Tim Hortons located in the building. There is, also, an M&M located in the building.

Terrible service today on this joyous Christmas day by the woman working behind the counter. Refused to take my lottery gift card and had no 2$ scratch tickets. Why sell the holiday lottery packs if you cannot redeem the tickets? Also, the woman threw my receipt at me at the end of my transaction. Wish I could give no starts at all.

Visited ultramar in Kars ON Oct 6th Leanne was the one working the cash / counter Asked if I had a JOURNIE card which I did but never used until she asked ! Goes to show how good customer service is at ultramar Friendly , fast and Leanne was outstanding with the greeting and taking pride in the store’s appearance. Thank you Leanne!

Somewhat disappointed in them. A new facility and the tap doesn't work at the pumps, 1/2 the time a receipt won't print. This feels like a ploy to get us into the store. I will never buy from them (other than gas) till the defects are fixed. The highway gas price sign also has been out for an exceptional while.

The owners/mangers and cashiers are super nice and welcoming! I been going to this store for a long time and always have had amazing customer service. The store is always kept super clean and there’s a variety of things to buy with the connivence of a Tim Hortons right next door ! :) it’s an 1 stop shop!!

They say it is a 24-hour service center it is not you can buy gas that is it 24 hours you cannot get windshield washer fluid clean your windshield the only help you get is someone coming over the speaker to tell you that they are not a car wash to carry on I will never darken their door again

I love this gas station. I work in the area and I stop here frequently, the customer service is absolutely phenomenal. Their prices are fair and their deals are extraordinary. This gas station is extremely clean and gives me unbelievably friendly and positive starts to any day.

It’s big gas station , Tim hortons , and store but they employees have occupied one big handicap washroom for their own use. The lineup for washroom is long. How could the city let them operate this way. Not even a one star for rude and unprofessional staff.

Gas is cheap, easy to access when hopping onto the highway. I have not had a problem since they opened and I have honestly not gone anywhere else to get gas since. Who doesn't love a Timmies Drive thru that works well too!

Gas pumps are usually not working and if you are lucky enough to get gas the flow rate is so slow you will freeze before your tank is half full. Based on 3 visits since it is brand new. Too bad because great location.

The older female worker threw a fit for me spilling a tiny bit of my slushie on the machine, due to the slushie spraying out of the machine sideways. She proceeded to throw my chips and receipt at me.

The cashier on November the 1st 2020 was not wearing a mask serving a customer not wear a mask. This is absolutely shocking as it’s mandatory. The clerk should be reprimanded under gross negligence!!!
