So this place sucks. They treat their own people like trash because they think we don’t know how to speak English and we won’t complain. The meat place has the rudest butchers when they make a mistake they don’t own up to it and instead double down in their rudeness. Now I know where the Latino trump supporters work. It’s ridiculous that I want to support Latinos and Latino owned businesses to be treated so rudely. Thank goodness there are new Latino markets popping up in the area because I never would want anyone of any background to have the experience I just had. This isn’t a one time thing either it’s the final straw in a line of incidents that have led me to post. Which I never comment but I’m so disgusted and disappointed that I had to warn my fellow consumers. Our money has power and it’s time we used it to be get the equal treatment that others have taken for granted. As for the Latinos who work at the Vallarta in Northridge - Be Better.
My wife and I came here tonight because she wanted a creamer that only Vallarta carry the brand. The parking situation here is horrible because it's a small lot in the back so if you come during the busy time, you'll likely won't find a spot. We were lucky when we got into the lot because there was 3 spots open. We parked and walked inside the store. The first thing we saw was bread and then the cake that they had on display. Some of the cake look delicious but we only came her for the creamer. My wife was able to find it in the back next to the milk. The store doesn't look as bad as other Vallarta like the one near my house which is why it's rare that I go to that one. We used the self checkout to pay for our stuff.
Tightly packed Vallarta reminiscent of old-time grocery stores. The fresh food, prepared food, fruit and vegetables are all great and reasonably priced. Carries most all the Latin American brands and products so hard to find elsewhere. Friendly staff always helpful. Particularly fond of their own salsas (many), ensalada de pollo, zanahorias curtidas, rice pudding. Best place for Latin American tomatoes, tomatillos, peppers, cilantro and melons. Good chips and candy, too! Watch out crossing the street, though!
Vallarta is mostly an Hispanic market, however, there are plenty of products for everyone. The aisles are very small, and it's difficult to maneuver when there's another shopper in the aisle. The "supermarket" has several self-chekout Registers, which are very convenient. In closing. I will say that Vallarta Market is a good little store, and I mostly shop there for sugar and coffee creamer, and frozen dinners. The supermarket is perfect for Hispanic community, and for basics such as sugar and coffee.
I was treated EXTREMELY poorly when I came to this supermarket. The young security guard and the manager were the absolute worst!!!! These people have NO idea how to run a business. I've been to many supermarkets and many stores and it was absolutely DISGUSTING the way I was treated here! I have also heard they are racist here (from other reviews on YELP,) which now it all makes sense! Shame on all of you, I will absolutely be reporting this store to BBB.
I only go for sealed products. I don't suggest you purchase meat, poultry. Not too clean . Fruit not the freshest. Plenty of fruit flies in there. Sometimes I go open minded to give it another try then after being there a few minutes I remember why I don't like it in there. Parking lots is usually full. They have another lot right across. Inside gets packed as well. Whole families are in there in line. Cashiers are a bit slow as well .
First, I would like to explain a little bit of detail( I don't like to talk two much, I dislike too much paragraph). I and my family we're from Las Vegas. We do NOT live here at the California. We come to visit CA. So let get to the point, this market store is my first time here at California. The manager she seems nice, the stuff they're friendly( or maybe they just doing their job).
Despite being extremely understaffed everyone seems to be doing their best to keep up with the workload , I even see some of the clerks helping out 3 customers at a time while on break, the cashiers cooking and cleaning, I even see the managers doing 4 tasks at once. I mean the staff tries to do the work of ten with a team of 4, it's pretty admirable
This store AC has been broken for months ! When you walk in it’s like you’re going into a sauna. It’s crazy that management hasn’t fixed it yet especially when they got employees working all day and on their feet for hours on end... Not only that but they also have a rat problem. A RAT! I’m disgusted by this and their management are unprofessional.
The store is clean, that’s about all it has going for it. They have a massive meat counter but there’s not a quality cut to be found. Everything is either super tough or overly fatty. I thought I was enjoying meat less in general, until I started shopping elsewhere and realized it was just very very bad selection at Vallarta.
Stop going there parking lot not clean trash and shopping carts left on lot with trash. That's been there for over a month Vallarta doesn't seem to care about there Neighbors to leave the trash. Check pictures that were posted have complain many times. They just don't care.
Disgusting. Bought flan, made a huge mistake of not checking the date on it. Got home and put a big spoonful in my mouth it was horrendous. Spoiled. Also one of the tamales I bought had mold on the corn husk. I was able to get a refund on both. I will never go back.
i love their tortillas and grocery packed frijoles. like someone else said in the review i stay away from fruits cause of the fruit flies, especially bananas. vallarta is surprisingly stocked with vegetarian/vegan essentials like nut milks and meat alternatives.
Thank God they are open late. Service is always good & helpful. Prices are competitive. Their weekly specials are good. The managers always get you answers. Cashier Marlene makes you smile Other markets are closed by 8PM. VALLARTA IS OPEN until 10p.
Top notch customer service. They have everything from meats to seafood, microwaved food, veggies, and food that's ready to eat along with a variety of cultural vibes ranking the market's consistency over other supermarkets on my spectations.
Vallarta Supermarkets we go on Roscoe Street. And the staff are very polite. Today I went there, to Find 'Garlic Bread. And I found Garlic Bread in Vallarta Supermarkets and before Food for Less. I found that 1 week ago on the Foil paper
Just moved to town and I expected it to be as good as the Vallarta back home. Poor quality meet and produce. Also the place looks and feels very depressing. Vallarta was the only market I went too and it was a huge disappointment
My son and I ordered food to go. I had carne asada burrito, very good, and he had a chicken quesadilla, pretty good but needed more spice. I went grocery shopping and picked up a lot of fruit and veggies. Prices are good.
It's a great place to buy Latin based food just make sure you double check what they are selling you behind the counter. They have a tendency to get confused and sell you the wrong item or charge you for a different item.
One of my favorite grocery store to visit, their staffs are very nice, helpful and very respectful, I like to go there in the morning to get my groceries, they have 6 self ring up automation to get rid of their lines.
This Vallarta is ok. I hate the parking situation, it's pretty annoying. For some reason everytime I eat from this specific location though I end up getting a stomach ache, not sure why. The customer service is good.
this place tries to be the worst grocery store in LA county. All their "fresh" foods are doused with chemicals and their packaged foods are always 2 weeks away from going bad and stale. i hate this place for real
look i understand that times are hard in the grocery store right now but having expired food out from about a week ago isn’t okay! that’s how people get sick and especially right now it isn’t the best.
Will not be the best place if you are not Spanish speaking. Outside of that the South American and Mexican selections are all collected in this grocery chain store. Great deli, cake, and bread options.
They have such a horrible meat department and deli I have both lunch meat and ranchera meat and gotten home to stinkie/slimy meat. Their ceviche on several occasions. The Cashiers are very sweet!!!
I can't beleive, how rude and disrespectful, there bakery employes, are to customer service i will never order a cake or go back to this store very very lady if i recall went by the name of aracely
Great store for grocery shopping, and prices are competitive with other super market, there is also food court inside the market, employee's are extremely nice basically Hispanic version of VONS
This market has gotten so much better with their fresh produce and the variety of meats and seafood. I haven't been in here for over 3 years and it's was a good experience this time around.
I like this Supermarket but why still don't le me in before 8... i got out of work at 6 am and I need bread. I understand when the pandemic was starting but know we are almost to normal.
Supermarket got plenty of supplies and food to choose from. The service there is great. Food over there is pretty decent, like their tacos and selections of hot sauces on the side, etc.
This is your go to spot for all your authentic Mexican food culinary needs. The produce is very affordable as well. Do try the meat department for easy, already marinated items
The customer service is really good I like how polite everyone is and they even go out of their way to help find a product of not let you know when it will be available …
Shopping carts are dirty,, old and rusty. Need to replace with new ones especially during this Covid-19 pandemic when everyone is concerned about public health and safety.
I went with my staff and my friend then we got to Vallarta Supermarkets and got my groceries the cashier did good customer service and the men's bathroom it was cleaned.
WARNING!!! TAKE CARE WITH PRODUCTS YOU GET FROM THIS STORE BECAUSE IS EXPIRED OR 2 NEXT DAYS TO EXPIRE , I GET MANY PRODUCTS ARE EXPIRED AND A 1 OR 2 DAYS TO EXPIRE !!!
It was great.Employees were well behaved and helpful. Products were also in good shape at reasonable price. My family and friends, we shop at Vallarte Super Market.
I live close by So I go there but always have issues. Customer service is Poor. People there look like they're unhappy with their jobs. I'm going to try elsewhere.
Dirty parking lot, they share the parking lot with apartments next door and with a church next to them as well, almost never parking accessible for handicap
Bought packaged shrimp here from the Carniceria and it had a huge tape worm in the shrimp make sure you check ur meats and seafood buying from here …
This Vallarta is worse and worse staff are rude, restroom is not clean and the meat and dairy department you can see the flies inside where the food is.
Surprisingly well stocked given it's smaller size. Excellent meat department and friendly and helpful staff. Parking can be tricky and space is limited.
Extremely small parking lot. Theres a parking lot across the street people use. Both are usually packed. So is the store. Good prices. Good variety.
It seems that their checkers like to steal groceries from you while your not watching.... Did it to me 3 times in the past week. Unbelievable.
Really clean store. Have different culture foods. They have a wide selection of pan dulce. They also have food ready to eat and Aguas frescas.
No costumer service or managers available to help. Waited 30 to 40 minutes for a manager to write a rain check for sale item not available.
Was aware of the markets...first time shopping there...great selection of Mexican/Latino food sources...met my need...Cualidad Superior !
I like Vallarta the only thing I dont like too much is the bread some times is not full cook at all and if you tell them they get mad
Very clean and friendly it is a bit tight in space so if your plus size I might steer out of they was bc I felt it frfrlol not sorry
Poor service inflated prices specialy in the prepared food they dont give you the meat you see they grab it from a tub behind them
Bad customer service felt very uncomfortable while I was shopping for my groceries even the manager just horrible. …
Every time they gave fresh vegetables and the best beef (Argentinian Cut). Great fresh food! Good place for the grocery shopping.
Bought some pork shoulder and asked them to cut for stew but only cut it for a few pieces and the worst part it smell really bad
If you like authentic Mexican food this is the place to go! Eat in or take out. You can also buy ingredients to make homemade!
Best place for your everyday grocery and household needs.Their pupusas are pretty good, bbq meat for bbq is excellent.
If you're going to buy food already made be sure they dont give you only bones thats what they do bad experience
This market carries items one doesn't find in other markets. They r oriented toward Latin American products.
Be careful with the produce. Cherries looked great but inside the bag many were rotten. So disappointing....
Always good, I asked tu use the restroom an one of the associates opened for me right away and very polite
Service can get better. But prices cant since they are low already. Love coming here. Fruits are amazing.
I thank the workers here doing the best they can but management is worst items are always about to go bad
Well I just stop to buy some lunch and actually was pretty awesome I'd like it good carnitas overthere.
Everyone is always nice , I always cash my checks . Friendly customer service in the meat department.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. I love this place and it's great for finding mexican snacks.
The service is good, and the staff is friendly. We visit this location at least twice a week ✌️✌️✌️
Vallarta Market has the worst parking area not maintained in any way with trash and legal parking.
Has what I need very rare I can't find what I need. If I do staff is helpful in guilding to items.
It's a little too crowded but other than that it is great I found what I was looking for.
I hate the parking here but dang, dude sometimes you just really want a pupusa, y'know?
Great prices, products, produce, and I never have to wait in line. I love this place.
I go to this store when I'm looking for Mexican food. I mostly always find everything
I enjoy the Mexican sweet bread , so it's a pleasure to have it from this store " ...
Shopping carts are extremely dirty, don't feel like is sanitary to put food in them.
Parking is the real loss in stars here. Food quality and availability is excellent
Very small structure, parking crossing the street, cars driving fast,be careful
They are helpful, and get your order done and checked out in a timely manner.
You can always find any Latin Hertiage item here. Too small, over crowded!
Smaller market but great if you just want to get something and get out.
A better place to shop as compared to other stores in the neighborhood
Food and other daily use products neatly placed for your convenience.
very good service, many things, the only difficult thing is parking
What a great place to shop! Very friendly and helpful! …
Nicely organized. Employees are friendly. Prices were very good.
A bit pricey on the basic hot items like rice, beans, meats etc.
It has a whole Variety of products and the clerks are very Kind
Clean, friendly store. Tasty bargains make up for tight parking
