Staff tries their best to engage customers in a respectful manner. However, I’d suggest that refund policies either be updated, or notify customers on it before hand (e.g that pens may not be exchanged or refunded) Considering that testing of pens/ stationery is not facilitated at the store, this policy should be pointed out to customers before hand. Very upsetting having to explain the logic of an unfair policy on customers to staff who insist on upholding said policy.

It’s easy to find, very organised, you don’t stroll through the books unlike traditional books stores but you arrive at the help desk and request the book you want. They were helpful and quick. My only critique is that Van Schaik is extremely expensive, I bought the book attached below for R841,00 and the same day I found it at another book store inside Wits brand new for R600. Why the profit margins are so different for a mega store like Van Schaik, Beats me.

Firstly it's a very clean place and it has a very friendly stuff! They show care and assist you with all you need. What I didn't like was that some items like books and some types of Laptops were available even when ordering for later collection. Other than that, I really recommend that one visits Van Schaik for stationary, Laptops and books (Hope the stuff you'll need will be available though)!

Some staff could do better. The guy cashier was rude, making up rules on the spot. It's a bookstore, I am buying books. Whether they are for friends/selling that's not something you should concern yourself with. And he refused to take a book back, and we legit bought it back less than an hour after realizing we took the wrong law book.

As much as I I didn't get the book I was looking for, they were actually nice, they gave me reasons why it's not available, even provided a solid proof for it (the book was out of print from the publisher)....furthermore they even helped me by giving me alternatives of getting a second hand.....I mean, isn't that excellent service..

This is where one gets all types of books. You will never go wrong or be told that a book is out of stock. All prescribed books are always available through out the year. The price is also not bad. The bookshop is adjacent to Wits university. The staff are friendly and professional. Pay them a visit and you won't regret.

The place was so clean and so organised, I wanted to stay there longer. The staff there is so friendly and helpful, they helped me find a book in an instant. They even gave me a token of appreciation for my purchase. Highly recommend for anyone in need of books and even classroom equipment too.

Really great bookstore for university books. I received fast and friendly service. Prices are very competitive. They were willing to source a book that was out of stock while I waited, and had the book after about 15 minutes. I will highly recommend this store.

It was really beautiful and the staff was really friendly it's clean but it was a little hard for me to find the entrance I had to ask a street vendor to show me. The entrance is written Rosebank College that's why I was confused but it's really nice in there.

I couldn't find the book I needed in-store, but a helpful gentleman enquired from a variety of stores until he found one and reserved it in my name. The store looked very extensive though, so I am sure it was my mere misfortune that I couldn't find it here.

Hi my experience was very bad because I phoned and they promised me that the book was there when I arrive at the store the book was not there they told me that there last sayings it was last year the last year sometimes last year so they couldn't help me

It's a good bookstore. Only bad thing is location. Not enough parking around it in Braam so you end up walking far and when you enter the building you are constantly harassed by Varsity kids looking to exchange their book allowances for money

There's a guy who's short I don't remember his name, he calls me Ausi Gabatshwane, die man made my life easier and he promosed to phone call me about the books I requested and guess what he did exactly just that, Thank you very much, keep on

Could not find book I was looking for then referred to Hatfield branch because they had 4 copies in stock. Drove to Hatfield from Joburg only to be told the system displays they have the 4 books but they have none in the shop …

Once you can find parking in Braamfontein, which is easier said than done, the bookstore is a real pleasure. The lady who helped me really knew what she was doing and immediately went straight to the resource I was looking for.

They lost my proof of payment and they called that they have my "books" only to find th3 have one book. So unprofessional and most of the time they are professional and efficient but today the service was down

ATROCIOUS SERVICE: I visited the store this morning, the two security personnel have no clue what customer service is and why van schaick is in business and who pays their salaries.

It's ok, you can buy anything with fundi card buy the stock is very limited. Also, they don't have walk-in shelves... you have to point out what you're looking for from the teller

They don't answer any phones and when you walk in for a service that they could have assistance on the telephone expect wait for a good 20 to 30 minutes to get assistance

They were very helpful. Even though they didn't have the book I was looking for, they called their other branches and ensured that I got the book timeously
