I was instantly impressed when I approached the 2nd level entrance. Inside was polished, tidy, not at all like many bookstores I have visited in the past. I just so happened to be the rare collections level. The gentleman in there was high energy, and greeted everyone that entered with a genuine interest in what they were looking for. It was so nice to see someone that was excited about every topic, collection, and type of print. He talked about the humor in the medical section, which historically baffles all of us I am sure, and reminds us keep things in perspective. He shared in passing while showing me the sheet music section that he was a buddhist, and the contrast of limiting vanity making decisions was a balance for him, (he had a salad for lunch, after much consideration). He admitted being a little scrambled at times and shared his secret, (which I heard in his pocket while he rushed around)...drum roll... a few dice he juggles to help him think! He gave me one and said whenever I have trouble chosing, I now have help. Just an awesome experience, and I bought a small print guide on buddhism to remember the experience. Don't miss this jem, you will be amazed what you find here.

Wow! Absolutely beautiful place with lovely industrial type accents and a very diverse selection of both new and old books, commingling on the shelfs together. I saw so many books I want to read. Especially in the children's section and the YA/science fiction. It's clearly stepping up It's game. I want to go back and just spent a few hours wondering around the stacks and finding new treasures. I hope their rare book selection is wheelchair accessible but I haven't checked. Will definitely do that next time. I did not get the book I went in looking for but I was by no means displeased with the experience overall and had quite a good experience. I look forward to delving deeper into what Weller has to offer and make it a regular spot to check in. I love supporting smaller book stores, they have so much more personality. I took pics! Here you go. Enjoy.

These pictures should indicate what a REAL bookstore looks like. This is Weller Book Works bookstore located in Trolley Square. Can you imagine going to Weller Book Works, sitting down with an amazing book and losing yourself in the comfort of this chair, forgetting about time as you envelop yourself in the pages of the written word! I recommend buying the book too, that way you can go home and continue to enjoy the life of reading great literature. What's my point? A bookstore represents ideas, thoughts, change and progression. Weller Book Works is a place the personifies this philosophy. So, next time your in SLC and you want to check out a REAL bookstore, go to Weller Book Works, it has the kind of look and feel that promotes what books have always been about: Promoting Thought Also, enjoy those big comfy chairs.

Independent book shops are becoming increasingly rare these days. That this one (among the fair amount of others in the Salt Lake area) is still going strong is good to see. Our first visit was enjoyable. The shop, being in Trolley Square, had free parking across the street, with a covered pedestrian crossing above the traffic. When my family walked in the shop, I was immediately impressed by the order: books were easily browsable by category, which makes it ideal if one doesn't have much time to linger (we live in Nevada and had to get back on the road). I ended up buying *only* one book, a biography on C.S. Lewis. The book sellers were friendly enough, which is to say, they left us alone to browse and explore. Easily a new must-stop when we visit Utah again.

They have a mix of new and used books. Pretty big shop with decent selection. There's also a rare/old books section, but it looked like you better be a big spender if you want to enjoy actually buying anything from that part. It's almost like a museum in that section of the store so fun to see anyway. The only downside of shopping here when we went - there's an NBA basketball thing just outside the store and seemed like some sort of martial arts class on super loud speaker in the room on the opposite side, so it was crazy noisy. Not really the best atmosphere for shopping in a bookstore.

Weller Books, where do I begin? It's the best book store in Utah. It has a huge offering that includes rare books on the top floor. It's ran by true bibliophiles and if you're lucky enough to talk with them they will tell you all about their adventures in sourcing rare books. They really love what they do and it shows in every facet of the store. Above all else, it's one of my happy places to go. Much to the dismay of my girlfriend, I could (and usually do) spend hours here meandering around and always leave with a book.

My wife and I love finding local unique shops like this whenever we travel, and Weller didn’t disappoint at all. We started upstairs and they had a big wall full of rare and old books which hooked us instantly! Then you look downstairs and see a sea of books! The selection is vast and well curated. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the prices are fair. It was a pleasant find on our Utah trip and we were able to pick up a gift here too.

What a great store! There are 3 awesome book stores in town, and this is one of the. It's always fun to head up to the rare books room and peruse their selection. Always a great place to ask advice and tips on how to collect, and to make special orders for your collection. I've accepted that I'm never getting a Bookman's here in Utah, but the three I've found all make up for that.

Great bookstore! They sell both used and new books. The selection varies by category. They had a huge selection of used religious books, but most of their children's books were new. It is a very cool location in Trolley Square, but I think it would be better if they had better lighting. The corner where the LDS books are located is very dark and it's hard to read the book titles.

The store has a large selection of books, providing something for everyone. The staff were incredibly kind - they helped me feel right at home. The best part of the store is the rare books collection. It’s a special experience to get to see and handle books that are often hundreds of years old. The collection is a true treasure, and I highly recommend Weller Book Works.

Not only such a wonderful store that I've loved for decades, but the staff has always been wonderfully kind and helpful every time I come in. I had a wonderful conversation today about story archetypes with a gentleman from California. I also love that the store prominently displays progressive material. Thanks for making a safe space for this community.

This bookstore took my breath (and money) away from the beginning. It can be a little overwhelming when you first get there because there is a LOT to take in but only in the best way. I love this bookstore and could spend hours here easily. Such a variety of topics and you’re guaranteed to find a book worth reading here. Love this place!

Amazing lil book store, they have great deals from time to time, I was lucky to find quality books in their $1 dollar book shelves. Neatly organized, you'll find rare books, crime ,religion, mental health ,history ,the occult, romance to name a few. They have comfy furniture for you to sit and enjoy the book that got your attention.

Such a great store! Great mix of new and used books. The owner and employees seem super happy to be there and weren't trying to rush us out of the store right before closing, which was appreciated. I do wish that the used books were more clearly distinguished from the new ones, but it's not a huge deal.

  • Don Harrison

Fantastic selection of both popular and critically acclaimed novels. As well as an upper story offering rare and historic books, lots of local history books, for the collector/archival minded folks. They can also search their inventory to help you find something and can even order it for you.

  • Troy Ropelato
