The World War II Memorial in Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park is a must-see for anyone interested in history and honoring our veterans. The memorial is beautifully designed, with intricate details and inspiring quotes that pay tribute to the brave men and women who served our country during WWII. It's a peaceful and reflective space, perfect for taking a moment to remember and honor those who sacrificed so much for our freedom. The park itself is also a wonderful place to explore, with its stunning monuments and green spaces. I highly recommend visiting this memorial and taking a moment to pay your respects to our veterans

It was built to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the 1796 founding of Tennessee, though it was not finished and dedicated until November 11, 1997 (Veteran’s Day). The primary feature, is the eight-ton carved stone globe, which rests on a cushion of flowing water and can be easily pushed into different angles, though it rotates on its own due to the flowing water. In front of the globe is a stone platform with stars honoring the 5,731 Tennesseans who died in WW2. Ten pillars, five on each side, line the east and west of the platform.

A beautiful place to honor WWII veterans, full with a large pack of history and eventfulness. Although the place was a bit littered by disrespectful people…literally on their tombstones. Otherwise, a great place to visit!

I didn't know this was here I kind of just stumbled up on it and boy am I glad I did. This Monument moved me very much and boy am I glad I did. I would recommend anybody visit Nashville to check this out taking a moment of silence and remember what those before us had to do to ensure that we were here today. Breathtaking and an honor to visit.

What a thoughtful memorial honoring the military and civilians who supported the effort and large stone pillars providing context and perspective. It’s set to the side of the park in a kind of henge like sanctuary of stone monoliths with some benches for reflection and contemplation. Very well done.

Great day trip for the lady and I. The atmosphere was very nice. The plagues and sculptures we're beautiful and informative. The park itself was a great place to go and just relax read a book or ride a e bike.
