I chose this place as the destination of a 50km bike ride one weekend in Shanghai. Not much on offer, the ocean looked polluted, the buildings and what attractions remain are pretty shabby. It does possess a certain creepy faded charm; no need to visit for the average foreign tourist though.
Not what it once was. Ferris wheel and other rides are decommissioned. It is also a long trek from Shanghai.
