I just live right around the corner down on 12th by the church. The first time I went to 21st Century Pizza I was hoping it will be good pizza. When I got home 2 minutes later I opened the box and said out loud, "Whoahh! That's a huge slice of pizza! Cool! I ate my first bite and I said to myself, "Now this is a, "Bitchin Good," slice of pizza and it's right around the corner. Cool! . . . . Maybe cool. Unless, I go there all the time and get fat cuz I just eat 21st Century Pizza for every meal, every day!! No way! I Will Not Let That Happen! I don't think... I don't believe I will.... I hope not.... But what if, . . "Hi, my name is Abby. Abby Normyl and I'm a 21st Century Pizza Addict." lol. . . Oh, excuse me. HehHeh and by the way, the Employees are, "Absolute Darlings." Each one of them are truly kind humans!! I Absolutely Love 21st Century Pizza!!!

Pizza wasn't what it looked like in the pictures that's for sure. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't great either. It reminds me of Dominos when it comes to the crust but I do admit the sausage had some spice and the pepperoni was tasty as well. Tomatoes were not ripe at all and we ended up not eating most. You could even see the color difference as some were more ripe than others. They work out of a small kitchen off the street and the one guy cooking also handles the fresh food and it made me question the cleanliness of this place as it looked in need of a steam cleaning. It is just pizza after all bit I didn't like watching him pile crappie tomatoes on my pizza with his bare hands. He even was showing his Co worker hoe crappie the tomatoes looked due to bad prep work. All in all ok but not 4.8 stars as Google suggested.

I love this place! It is my favorite place in Portland that sells pizza by the slice. Service is through a window facing the sidewalk, so there's nowhere to eat on-site. Employees are always super friendly and very helpful. Whether you like pizza by the slice or ordering a whole pie, this is a great place to get it. They offer several specialty pizzas as well as your run of the mill toppings, multiple sauce options, as well as salads, bread sticks, and other sides. You can call in your order ahead of time or place it at the window. Either way, the wait for food is never very long. Lastly, they offer a discount for "day old" pizza by the slice, which is usually one of their house specialties.

I live in maine and ordered a pizza for a friend who just moved to portland. I called legitimately 10 places and none of them would deliver to her address not only did 21st century deliver to her but they accommodated a pretty special request of spelling out Happy Birthday for her in peppers. The service was amazing and I was told to order from them from another portland pizza place saying they were the best pizza in portland, which says a lot seeing as they work at a pizza place. Also they waived the delivery fee which was legit. GO THERE, like just do it, you wont regret it I promise. p.s My friend said it was the best pizza ever

I love this place! I’ve ordered from here a handful of times so far, I really enjoy their pizza by the slice and also their garlic bread!! I have other friends that also rave about this place. I love the walk up window, really easy and convenient to order and be on your way! There are some cry babies that complained about them not being open when they should be. Yeah sometimes their hours fluctuate, sometimes it’s due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, that’s just the way things are and really should not be something to hold against this business and does not warrant a negative review. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Excellent! Walked there from my apartment, got some dough bites to go, had to walk back an hour later to get more because they were so damn good. Coated with plenty of Parmesan, and came with two free sauces. First of all, the two sauces I got were very unique and tasty, red-pesto mix and white garlic. They had so many options though, and they all sounded so good! It was almost overwhelming! (Any suggestions, should you happen to read this Mr. Owner?) Prices were very reasonable too. I’m a large guy who can really pack it in, so finding a place that can fill me up for $10 is a rarity indeed. Will definitely be coming back!

This is a solid walk up pizza joint. It's not amazing, but it's definitely good. If your looking for a good standard combo pizza try the 21st Century combo. The sauce is on the sweet side as opposed to tangy, but it's just fine. I wouldn't go out if my way for it, but they do sometimes have a pretty long line. It's a walk up window and that's all, but it's pretty standard for this kind of place you'll know from NYC, Chicago, or any of the truly big cities that have a pedestrian lifestyle. Closed on Mondays. I usually judge a pizza place by the cheese pizza, and this one is just so-so, but again, it's fine.

  • Lisa Sneed

Well I originally use to really like this place but hadn't been working nearby in a while to get it until this evening. I guess they got a new website and now you can't order online but I've tried calling them 4 times in the past hour and every time it went to some generic voicemail, it didn't even say the name of the place! Very disappointed that they have now taken steps backwards getting a new website. I guess I'll try calling one more time and then just give up. I actually decided to walk there and turns out they were closed though there was no sign or anything stating they would be closed.

Great Downtown SW Pizza and so far some of the best pizza we have had in Portland. First - pizza is very tasty. Second - pizza had lots of toppings. Third - one of the most affordable pizzas we have had; an 18" specialty pizza for $28. If you sign up for an account they give you a welcome bonus, you earn points toward discounts, and we have received two coupons for $3 and $5 dollars since being members in the last two months. All around a great place, reasonable prices and most of all quality pizza for the money. Dr. B

This is bar none the best pizza I have had in downtown portland. My wifey and I are on a quest to find our pizza spot near our home. Most places failed us, leading us bitter and sceptical about pizza in Portland in general. But the conquering hero so far is the tasty and cheap 21st century pizza. Right on Jefferson, highly customizable pies, low grease, good, fresh sauce, tasty filling crust, quick (25 mins for a whole pie) and at a low price. Thank you, 21st century pizza, for giving us hope again for Portland pizzas.

  • N F

Had an 18" cheese pizza (with garlic parmesan white sauce & added basil) delivered. Super friendly delivery guy who gave me credit of dough bites due to a Yelp check-in offer I had but couldn't carry over to their website. Much appreciated. Pizza was terrific; great base, very New York. Dough bites a bit too oily but still fresh & tasty once dabbed a bit with a paper towel. Suggestion: maybe heat the accompanying sauce before you eat them. $24 for a pizza is usually a bit spendy for me but this was worth the extra.

  • Sara Monroe

Just moved here and this pizza is perhaps the best I've had (grain of salt: I'm from Florida)! I ordered online and asked for a substitution in the comments, unsure if they even did that. Not only did they make the substitution (still not sure if it's a policy they endorse), but they, perhaps mistakenly, added all sorts of ingredients. Mistake or not, it's nice to be given extra instead of less. Also, I ordered delivery and the pizza came before estimated time range! I found my delivery pizza joint!

  • Richie R

Hate to give pizza makers a hard time but this style isn't my favorite. Dough was thick and spongy, thick dark red sauce didn't have any of the brightness that comes from being freshly made and cheese was thin and bland. Was also cooked on wire tray (I can see the marks on the bottom) so the crust didn't have any crispyness or char. Price was sorta fair for a large pie but I'd gladly pay a few bucks more for Baby Doll, Pizza Jerk or Scotties.

  • FeeWolf

Another overpriced dough and sauce joint... I know it's Portland but this isn't what pizza is supposed to be. A decent attempt but honestly I'm not sure you guys should even still be in business, you had a veggie pizza on the menu that said sun-dried tomatoes and you just cut up regular tomatoes and threw them on top? If you're really desperate for a slice, skip the wallet gouge and just imagine it in your head it'll be better trust me.

  • Renée duComyn

Absolutely my favorite pizza anywhere in Portland, and can't think of any place better, anywhere, and I love pizza. My favorite is their all meat on white. The owner is a super sweet guy, and the staff are all excellent. They are just within walking distance, so I often go there for a hot slice. I sometimes clsl ahead to ask if they have enough if the all meat on white to satisfy my craving, and they've always set one aside for me!

  • Bryce Torian

Ordered a slice of their 21st century combo for $5. Saw the staff member just take an already cooked slide out of the fridge and put it on the conveyor oven. It got overcooked and burned. Dry, hard crust, burned toppings, shriveled olives.. Owner reply below makes sense, but crunchy hard pizza is just not my cup-of-tea I didn't try the full pizza or their dough balls, so maybe there's good here. I just didn't get it.

  • Jonathan Lowry

Their pizza is really good! Always consistent and the spicy red sauce is delicious. Their prices are good too and it never takes more than 20 minutes to pick up at the window. They do not offer dining-in service, but you can call in an order for pickup or delivery, order on their website or order from the walk - up window. The only drawback is that they are closed on Tuesdays, but everyone needs a day off.

  • David Erickson

We really love their pizza here. Great stuff and good prices. Small walk up window but they also deliver and delivery is always a pleasant experience with these guys. Check out their daily specials. Update as of 7/12/18 : What happened to this place? They raised their prices, did away with their daily specials and now have literally the worst website I've ever seen. Sorry, guys...dropped you one star.

  • Pete Brown

Their interpretation of a margherita pizza is up for debate. It's like what a restaurant in china would serve if they were asked to make spaghetti and put the word through google translate. Imagine shredded cheese, raw american tomatos on top and cardboard bread underneath. If you don't know the real stuff, you gotta try it. I gave this 5 stars in the past but that pizza offended me.

  • Dylan Moe

21st Century pizza has some of the best pizza that I have ever eaten. I started with a slice of cheese and then moved on to slices of pepperoni and I yet to move on from there. I have been stuck on pepperoni for 4 months now. Their dough bytes are also so fresh and tasty. And the prices! 2.50 for a slice of cheese 3.00 for a slice of pepperoni. This is my ideal pizza place.

  • Matt Rattlehead

Stayed at hotel vintage, ordered 1 pizza, garlic cheese bread, meatball euro, dough bites and a two liter of coke. The only thing that wasn't screwed up was the two liter. All the food was severely over cooked. We definitely did order a variety of stuff there and it all was sub par. Little Caesars would have been five star compared to 21st century pizza. Very disappointed.

  • Sydney Sundell

Basically Costco pizza but twice the price. Their pizza is way too expensive for the quality. I'd say it's just barely better than Costco pizza because 21st Century uses less cheese. Other than that, it's quite bland. I probably wouldn't get it again since prices at places like Sizzle Pie, Hot Lips, and Life of Pie are comparable for much better quality pizza.

  • Ryan ABXY (Ryan Gilbert Arnold)

Exactly what you would expect. It's a walk-up window with big slices of pizza. The food is good but is still lesser quality than many actual restaurants would have. It's great on the go, and probably perfect for the students nearby. I will only seek it out with a friend as I'm walking around though, not necessary when I just want pizza there's better options.

  • Samuel Parkman

Exceptional pizza, great staff. I ordered a margherita but they were out of basil, so I said green peppers instead. When it came, I was given a freshly made chocolate chip cookie to make up for not having basil! And, the green peppers instead of basil (oh yeah, I added bacon too) was amazing! A keeper! Downtown/Goose Hollow go-to for delivery for sure!

  • Austin Williams

I tried there slice of the week for Pizza week. It was there version of a Margherita pizza. Crust was thick and perfectly cooked. Solid amount of topping, lots of cheese and the sauce they used was incredible. I tried 4 other spots during Pizza week and this was the best one. If I could give it a 4.3 star I would. Not perfect pizza but very good.

  • Aleem Allidina

Sandy is an excellent ambassador for this place and sold me on a house special pizza as im from outta town and wanted Mom and Pop shop. Even if her son owns the place ( yes we got to chatting on the phone) i couldnt be happier with this place. Even the delivery driver was a positive part of the experience. Thanks Sandy and team.

  • Danny

I came here late one weekend night to get some grub. Their credit card system wasn't up yet and I didn't have any cash. However, these guys gave me a free slice of pizza, asked if I wanted more, and told me not to worry about it. Not only did they show their generosity, but their pizza was really delicious. I will certainly be coming back.

  • Hannah Martinez

I was looking to treat myself to a margherita pizza and came across 21st Century Pizza which had a bunch of great reviews, so I decided to give them a try. Overall the pizza tasted ok, though it looks like it was left in the oven a bit too long. It was nice to try a new place but probably not something I would order again.

  • L Ditch

This is seriously long overdue considering I eat here no less than 3 times a week. That's it, that's basically my whole endorsement. Best pizza in town. Period. By the slice, by the pie, I even tried a sandwich once. And don't get me wrong, it was great, but I'm here for the pizza. If they had dining, I'd never leave.

  • Travis Peterson

I've lived in Portland for close to two years and I've sampled pizza's from all over the city. 21st Century Pizza is the best pizza I've ever had hands down. The sauce has subtle kick and the flavors are out of this world. They are also open until midnight most nights so you can cure your craving even late at night!

  • Matt Bodall

The best pizza I’ve found in 8 years of living in Portland. New York/NJ style pizza is the gold standard for pizza to me, and this is by far the closest thing I’ve found to NY pizza. Great soft, floppy thin crust, really good toppings, and good quality sauce and cheese. This is the only place I order pizza from now

  • Anna Sophia

Just...amazing. You have stumbled upon the best pizza in Portland. No frills, no seating, just order a delicious slice at the window. The slices are huge and although I'm a "every topping ever" kind of person, their basic pepperoni pizza is to die for. Plus they're open late night. DONE.

  • LaDene Cermack

Got to be one of my all-time favorite pizza places. Even though there's nowhere to sit and you order from outside it's worth the inconvenience. Don't like that?. . . Have it delivered. Gets tops for friendliness, accuracy, and generous portions. Their Lg pizza is not some dinky thing!

  • Nathaniel Meyer

I had their "A Slice of Tony" during Pizza Week. It's a memorial to their dearly departed founder and it was a delicious way to remember him: "Meatball, mushroom, and white onion, on a housemade parmesan garlic white sauce base" I'll definitely be back to try their regular offerings.

  • Zoe Malzone

This place is incredible. They're fast, friendly, inexpensive, and the slices are HUGE and taste great. They've got a good deal for meals, and if you call ahead they will have your order ready by the time you walk down the street. If you're looking for a cheap lunch, look no further.

  • Andrew Vanderwall

Not the best but very good pizza. It reminds me of a combination of Figaros and good homemade pizza. A zesty but simple sauce and big slices for $3-4. You have to try it at least once. Warning : this is just a street side shop with an outside counter. They also sell fresh cookies!

  • David Chan

Great pizza and really nice guys. They have a good size menu with choices as low as 5 bucks. Pizza and soda is high quality. Get out and support local businesses like this before we have only two choices left: Wal-Mart and time warner.. kinda like our current political quandary.

  • Dan

I found this gem by complete accident. Some of the best za I have had in a long time. I will drive 35 minutes to satisfy a pizza hankerin'. They also have an amazing Shirley Temple in a can. Oh and they have these wonderful lil dough bites. Bottom line it is a legit spot.

  • Leslie J

I love this place. We just moved to SW and needed to find a pizza delivery place. Most (if not all) of the other pizza places in the area close really early but 21st century pizza is open till midnight. The pizza is good. They deliver promptly. It's awesome.

  • Croatian Wolfman

Burnt, the sauce had some sort of cinnamon rather than garlic I maybe prejudice because I grew up in the Italian influenced part of Croatia but That's no tomato sauce I recommend going elsewhere to find actual quality slices this place is bland and weird

  • Mike Pospichal

Had a great pie from them. None of the toppings were overpowering, everything was nicely balanced. The perfect compromise on the crust between crispy and having some chew. It's always a risk trying a place while traveling, but they absolutely nailed it.

  • Ander Ghyti

These guys do a damn fine crust. Their toppings are high quality and they've got a great variety too, and only a 2 dollar delivery. Highly recommend this place for people who are tired of dominos or the hut. You gonna get your money's worth

  • Sean H

Great pizza and service. Thicker than a ny style slice. Always new and delicious combos. The garlic parmesan sauce is great. The deal for a slice, a drink, and dough balls is perfect. Just walk up window and I think they deliver close by.

  • Jennifer Cramer

Convenient walk-up window for really good (and big) slices. Got a whole pizza once (a veggie) and it had about 3 slices of mushroom on the whole thing. Probably won't order another whole, but will definitely hit up the slice window again!

  • Blossom Thorne

Toppings were ok. Pizza sauce was awesome, kinda spicy. The crust was tough/cardboardy unfortunate cause they seem to have really good customer service and deliver all around downtown. Crust is kind of a deal breaker for me though.

  • sunchild

Best pizza! Out of this world cheesy, and the Dough bites are so good! Try everything even the salads are worth it. Best part at the window you can order slice meals. I used to go to Dante's a lot but this place is my go to now.

  • David C

If you want the best comfort pizza in Portland, 21st is your place! No gimmicks, no obscure toppings, just damn good pizza! The staff is is chill AF, and the dough bites with the pesto dipping sauce are what dreams are made of!

  • Phoenix Black

I love this pizza! They offer slices as well as whole pizzas at a cheap price compared to other pizza joints around! I love the cheese pizza. The people there are very nice and food is made quickly, always very hot and fresh.

  • Moneypenny The Dog

No indoor seating, which makes it nice and dog friendly. DELICIOUS for humans - like, really good. Minimal crumbs on the ground for dogs, because humans are not likely to share. Still a happy place for friendly . …

  • r W

The pizza by the slice is refrigerated and then baked to order and it is absolutely excellent. I thought this would translate to their whole pizzas as well, but definitely not the case. Stick to their individual slices!

  • Lane Brammer

Honestly, my only complaint for this place is that it isn't open late and when I'm out downtown it closes before I can get a pizza for the way home. This place makes GREAT pizza, and their pesto-red sauce is fantastic.

  • Aidan G

Pizza is the perfect mix of dough and toppings. It's a little costly, 8.50 for 2 slices. Also expect the employees to be fried out of their minds. One guy got very confused and stared at me blankly for a hot minute.

  • Chrissy Blossom

My gosh! What a fantastic find! I had their meatball sub and a order of dough bytes, both were so very good! The sauce on the sub was super good and the homemade ranch was perfect for the bites! Yum yum yum!

  • Mike Fulton

I went here because the reviews are so good but I left unimpressed. The pizza was quite average but the price was higher than average. The staff was friendly and helpful I just with the pizza had more "Wow!"

  • Jason Heitzman

Best pizza in Portland! Super friendly and awesome staff! The delivery driver forgot some ranch and insisted he go back to the store and get it. A+ customer service… which is unfortunately rare these days.

  • Jesse James

Been trying for a month to order a pizza but every time I go by they say they are closed for catering orders. Then want to argue with me as I walk away. Not going to ever try it now. Congratulations

  • Geovanny Perez

This pizza place is one of my new favorites, they were out of the buffalo meat but still was amazing with the white sauce. Pick up took only 20 min and very tasty. Very friendly and great prices

  • Brett Gottfried

A tasty slice of pizza. There is no seating so you must order at the window and take it to go. However, dough is nice and fluffy and the pizza taste good. Not a bad place for a late night snack.

  • Abigail Partlow

I love this place! The veggie pizza on white sauce is my favorite, and the garlic parmesan bread bites always hit the spot. The pizza comes out decently fast and the staff is always friendly.

  • Elizabeth Tarbox

Amazing! 21st Century has officially made it into our top 5 of favorite pizza places in the states. Great pie, fantastic customer service, we will def be back the next time we’re in Portland.

  • Tonee R.

First time in Portland, Oregon and I was sight seeing, was looking for pizza for lunch. Best decision ever! Best pizza I have ever had! if ever near here again I will be stopping here to eat.

  • S P

This place is consistent and good in a mid-type of way. It’s definitely not Italian or a nyc slice, but when you want a bready, comfort slice, it hits the spot. It’s decently priced as well.

  • Thepath_ 1

Customer service was great, they delivered fast and was kind and patient at the door. The food is amazing, the crust is nice and soft. I highly recommend trying this place if you're near by.

  • Matthew Gantz

Stop #53 for @pizzas365: 21st Century Pizza serves up a fairly decent slice for both the price and taste. Only big complaint is the pepperoni is pretty greasy. The rest is solid. 4.2 Stars.

  • Kaitlin Petty

The pizza here is so great. I have to eat gluten free which is an insanely large bummer but 21st century's gf pizza is really great. We eat here more often than I should probably admit to.

  • Philip Pompetti

Honestly some of the best pizza I've ever had in PDX. All the guys that work there are SUPER friendly and cool with everyone. It's good, honest, delicious pizza. Check them out!

  • Melissa Butler

The pizza is some of the best I've had in Portland and they're dough bites are !! Better than sizzle pies garlic knots or Domino's parmesan bites in my opinion.... …

  • Shannah Short

I love it because it's close, but their pepperoni's are too spicy, they give me heartburn...a little less sauce would be good and some garlic butter dipping Stuffiest...

  • hapakoleahapahaole

Great pizza. Had 2 slices, the cheese and the spinach, artichoke, black olive. Both were really good. And the woman who works there is super sweet and friendly.

  • Patrick Irvin

I've tried 3 different slices. It gets better every slice. The dough bites are great. Eating a Caesar salad tonight with all meat on white sauce. Best yet.

  • B Ramsay

I personally think this is the best pizza in town. I love how nice the owners are too. Midwestern? Beware that sometimes they just are randomly closed.

  • Nickalous Montano

General slices. If I need a quick bite then I grab a slice from here. I like it. It is take out from a window only. If it's raining call in your order.

  • Gabrielle LMT

Seriously good, seriously big pizza. I don't write reviews very often, but I truly believe they have the best pizza in Portland. And great prices too!

  • Charlie H

Best vegan slice in Portland. The slices are huge, crust is not floppy and has the best cheese I’ve tasted so far. Service is always very friendly!

  • Marina “MarCass” Cassandra

Only had sandwiches here but so good i had to go back, and will again, as long as they stay in business. Looking forward to trying there pizzas.

  • Justin Buchanan

Great slices. Arguably the best slice in downtown Portland. The magic is in the sauce. No disappointment here, locals and visitors must try.

  • Eduardo Torres

Never thought I’d ever say day old pizza is my favorite but here it is. A slice for $2 and huge slices. Love it here …

  • Iris Mota

Don't be fooled by this place. It may look small and ordinary but it has the most amazing and delicious pizza I've ever had.

  • Patricia McLaughlin

Delicious pizza, fresh and generous portioned salad, friendly staff and quick delivery to our hotel. Highly recommended!

  • MA 98

You need absolutely delicious crispy pizza ? This place is a hidden gem that is better than almost all chains

Delivery time was 45mins but the pizza was delicious and hot when it arrived. They are great for delivery!
