I believe the name of this entity is "289 Asian Supermarket" rather than Asian Supermarket. I went into the shop after noticing it on the highway and it looks like that they are about to start trading but not officially opened. It appears that they have a number of items that from many different Asian Nations, Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, South East Asian etc. The first thing I look for is value for money and it appears that they are slightly above the others especially when you compare to their larger competitor that starts with "K". Despite my lower score as that I found the items higher, I may return as they have an item that I am unable to find in other Asian Grocery stores especially my first Asian Grocery store I entered back in 1995, and I am happy with that. Although I am giving this a 3 star, it is really a 2¼ to 2½ however the store was clean despite it has not opened and I will earnestly wish them well in the future as I will come back to check once again.
289 Asian Supermarket Visited on 8/9/2022 It is definitely a good place to shop for mainly Asian groceries, meat, vegetables and seafood. It does have tankful of live lobsters and fish. I do object the overcrowding of the Murray cod in a tank. There are spare unused tanks, and the fish could be distributed to eliminate such cruel treatment. The floor is not in the best condition. It is a slap dash paint job left by previous business. I really wonder what the local coucil Health Deapartment has been doing. It is eye opening going through isles with so many brands of Asian snacks, rackers, chips, and desserts. Near the checkout is a chest freezer stocking some interesting icecream. Many staff speak Mandarin only, and it can be a bit of problem if non-Manarin speaking customer cannot find certain product and need assistance.
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this market. The advertising and marketing tactics used by the business are highly deceptive, leading customers to believe in false promises and benefits. I visited the store enticed by the advertised promotions, only to find out that there was no clear information regarding the specific items included in the offer. To make matters worse, when I attempted to redeem the supposed discount, I was informed that my purchase did not meet the required conditions for eligibility. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and leaves customers feeling cheated and misled. It is crucial for businesses to be honest and upfront about their promotions, ensuring customers have accurate information before making a purchase
massive variety asian supermarket. best selection of frozen foods i’ve seen in melbourne. also offering live seafood and a nice variety of fresh ingredients. great quality too! only place i’ve seen that has fresh tarp and frozen fried dough sticks. a must visit for buying asian goods. staff are also very friendly …
The staff are so friendly and helpful. The cashier always helps pack the grocery, unlike the Asian grocery near my place. And I was shopping with my baby along so they helped me load my shopping to my car. Truly appreciate the help. I wish it was closer to my home.
Some of the mushrooms were growing hair so I'd let the staff know. They asked me to just leave it and it was normal?! All in all they have a great range of Asian products, As long as you don't buy fresh items unless they are alive like the fish
Really friendly staff make this place stand out. Has the full range of the Japanese boss coffee which is why I go there... and the lychee Fanta . Has a butcher inside, and live seafood. Also a small selection of hot foods. It's not as

First time visit as an Aussie customer. Love the massive varieties of all Asian products. Would be more appreciated if the staff could speak English to at least serve the Aussie customers in a more welcoming manner and explain what the
Great variety from drinks to snacks to frozen food, sauces, fruit & veg, seafood, meat — anything you’d could expect to find from a typical Asian grocery! Very spacious inside, though parking is limited. Would recommend a visit!
The store has the best range of drinks, choco pies, kit kats in Melbourne. Very impressive. I've never seen some of these items at the other big Chinese and Asian supermarkets. It's one of the best supermarkets I've been to.
I always bought garlic cheeses from here, it’s so fresh and clean. Customer service are also superb. I really appreciate their attention to details in each aspect.
very big asian supermarket, excellent variety selection of Chinese, Japanese and Korean food, vegetables, fresh meat, live seafood at very good affordable price.
Seafood, veges, meat, dry/frozen goods, this Asian grocery has almost everything you possibly need. They open late as well. My family loves shopping there.
This shop has now been re-opened. Very big and a lot of stock including meats, live seafoods, cooked meals and fresh veggies. Prices are on the high side.
