"The bag checking in this place is ridiculous"
Once again I was treated as a potential thief. Aldi staff at the checkout requested to see the content of my shopping bags and verified it with a docket from another shop. No other shops at Lane Cove - Coles, Woolworth and Harris Harm - do that. Fine, it is Aldi's concept of courteous business... But Aldi should make sure that their staff does not overcharge customers. Today my bag were inspected, then articles scanned and the receipt given. Aldi staff charged me for cherries instead of apricots. A very significant difference in appearance and in price. I requested a refund. How a well trained staff can mistake apricots for cherries??? Was it really an innocent mistake? Since this is not the first time and I am not the only one treated like this, I am afraid it is problem much deeper and the blame is wholly on Aldi and the management. Maybe Aldi should start monitoring their own staff? Train them better? Aldi is only marginally cheaper, but their produce is not as fresh as at Coles or Woolworth. Customer service is nowhere close to any other shops in the area. Shame on you.
Bad , bad , bad , Terribly. Do not go to this supermarket if you don't want to be humiliated and treated like a thief. My second time at this supermarket because I work nearby, I chose some things and went to the cashier to pay and to my surprise the cashier asked me to search my work bag that was on my back, it was the biggest embarrassment of my life, super unnecessary, if there is a security guard, he needs to perform his function at the time of the act, much less a cashier to search you like a bandit. It's not an airport, it's a supermarket, if someone steals, catch them right away and arrest them, which was not my case. What a horrible thing to distrust people, not every human being is a thief, I'm going to sue you because I have a witness, the approach is totally outlawed. I will never return to this place again. ZERO GRADE. Occurrence:15/07/2023 Time : 1.35pm
Really poor customer experience with officious, rude staff who apply random rules regarding alcohol purchase. Even though we are middle aged and purchasing wine for our own use, our daughter who accompanied us is asked for her ID even though she is of age, and not making the purchase. Other people in the queue with accompanying children (obviously under 18) and teens are not asked to provide ID even though the manager tells us that this company ‘policy’. Presented a copy of our daughter’s passport and drivers licence, but the manager said he ‘didn’t care’ and refused us service. No issues with other Aldi stores, we have now tested it and were able to buy alcohol with no problem at another branch, even with our daughter there. Really disappointing but reading these recoews shows that this store has issues with staff, lots of other complaints…
I love Aldi. I am astonished, amazed, and upset by the clear breach of intellectual property. Sun cursed instead of sunkist, single instead of solo, and my personal favourite Pepsi min instead of Pepsi max. I’m terrified of the meat sold here, it’s like Soviet Russia, meat imported from some Eastern European satellite state with a bunch of winter coats in the middle isle. The staff are lovely and so diverse. I am of middld eastern background so it’s awesome to see fellow arabs work in retail not just as Uber drivers. Clean up on isle six because I’m drooling over the canned goods. I love maggot macaroni cheese, i think it’s a brand inspired by Maggie. Any way love the food, love the people, love the atmosphere.
The bag checking in this place is ridiculous. I shop there four times a week and the two Indian women are rude while checking your bags. Today one of them also asked me for ID when my partner was purchasing alcohol. I politely gave her my ID and she was adamant it didn’t have my date of birth on it. She called on the manager who showed her where the DOB was straight away. She held up people in the queue for 5 minutes in the process. The Managers are lovely but the two Indian women are letting the place down.
I have got a very disappointed experience today. Unfortunately I don't know what he's name. One of staffs has blond hair person is very unkind and unfriendly and aggressive. When I asked him about aldi catalog and receipt , he throws things with unhappy face. It's busy time, however it can not be reason to throw my stuffs. I think he should get education of customer service.
A lady served us just now. She was very rude and also asked a guy behind me in the cashier line to go ahead of me to be served first. He had less items than me and i was happy he be served first but “I” can offer that to him not the “cashier”! The cashier didn’t ask me if I am happy with that like I wasnt there in the line. So people with less items can skip the line?
Nice fresh produce. Not the biggest ALDI but surely you'll get all that you want. Personally I believe the specials are a bit late and a lot of stock are still available after the due date of that specials. Lately I realised that they have some really good cheese as well. The specials are something I always keep an eye for some good deals on many occasions.
Aldi is good, as usual but I dont undertand whats going on with their pre-pack salads, today is 31st October, due date 8th of November and it already looks half dead. I stopped buying them because have to throw away at least a third every time. This is not just this store, the same story is with two Chatswood shops.
Very cheap prices. Wide aislies. Not much choice. Quite a few things out of stock at the moments. Still much cheaper than Coles and Woolies though. Stock levels no consistent day to day. The dread toilet paper is only there some of the time. Lots of Sorbent in huge packs in stock today 18 th May 2022!!
This is a roomy ALDI. I believe the aisles are wider than most other Aldi stores. It also carries alcohol, if that's what you're looking for. There is a load of parking underneath, and plenty of trollies, so it's a good place for a big shopping trip
It's an Aldi and they are all pretty much the same. It's not the biggest ALDI, but not the smallest either, so weekly specials are generally available. Like most ALDI stores the staff are not particularly helpful, but not the worst either.
They are a bit inconsistent with grate deals but you go there for the Organic yogurt “vanilla” the cake next to the bread. Unbelievable good.. they should go hard on the middle station for better stuff other Aldi’s are way better.
All the time big line in front of cashiers and the call for other cashiers to open extra cashiers replied very late. Finally, the specials are always ended so quick and full of trash other specials we don't even want touch.
I am so glad that Aldi open in Lane Cove. The layout of the store are really nice. There was enough staff at the checkout so I was not waiting to long on the line. well done! I will definitely do more shopping here
If I am buying a bottle of water it means I look suspicios and you need to check my backpack? No way I am going to come to Aldi again, I understand that there are strict policies, but where is the common sense?
opening day. after lining up for over an hour, management decide to let all the people that just arrived in rather than those waiting all morning. this doesn't bode well for the customer service of this place.
Very poor customer service. The cashier was rude and aggressive to my wife and tipped our bag of groceries upside down damaging our food. This behaviour should not be acceptable in any organisation.
The pink lady apples were tasteless and half are rotten in the pre-packaged box I bought. Their mandarins were also too small and tasteless. Their fresh produce is not fresh at all.
What's not to like? They sell good value wine and there's always the chance to snap up a cheap Geiger Counter in the middle aisle or a tasty turducken from the freezer
Very spacious aldi with lots of special products on sale than your usual aldi stores. Most things are usually in stock which is great, and kept reasonably tidy too
What to say? It is an Aldi, same-same with other Aldi. Parking good. Domino's $5 pizza nearby to tick lunch off with a Pepperoni pizza at same time as Aldi shop.
Bag checking is ridiculous!!! Someone was hanging the sign in the Canopy today saying "Wear a mask when visit Lane Cove" but Aldi staff were not wearing one.
Aldi always good. Increasing the range of products in a carefully way to balance quality and costs. There is a large parking 1~3 hours free. Great.
They always ask to check my bag and I always have to bring a receipt from the other shops to prove I bought the groceries in my bag elsewhere.
Convenient ALDI store but due to Covid there were limited options in the fresh food section, no meat and limited fruit and vegetables.
Friendly staff. Fruit and vegetable area was a bit untidy, grapes out of bags, not restocked. Rest of store clean and tidy.
Very convenient, not too large to find what you need. Service very fast check out. Loving the mid aisle specials.
Nice new store. Good size and sells alcohol too. Produce stock levels were good when visiting at evening time.
I've always loved Aldi but recently we've had issues with the fruit and kids yogurts.... still loyal though
Good store, Aldi prices are good, and I'm always looking at the non grocery specials in the middle isle
Good aldi, but not fully stacked nor self- checkout options available. The wait can be a little long.
Heaps of well priced products, clean and tidy, pleasant staff, lots of mark downs in center isle
Conveniently located next to Coles and liquor land with 4 levels of under ground car parks.
Good store with all the Aldi products. Have to use the stairs or lift to access the store.
My local Aldi, always well stocked and with the most helpful staff!
The best. Has everything you need. Liquer and lots of specials
Absolutely amazing....as always....lol Annabel Godbold
Good store to buy your daily requirements
