Disgusting service this morning, Served by an Indian woman, who had absolute no compassion whatsoever. I went in with my husband to finalise my late fathers account and the woman who served us apparently could not find his account and questioned us whether he even had an account, she then assumed my mother had banked with them asking for her details and when my husband asked her 'why do you need to know this information?' she responded quite rudely and assumed she would be able to look up her details, however, my mother does not even bank with ANZ. The woman then said she cannot help us with closing or looking into my late fathers credit card, instead, to call ANZ. She also was reading and examining my father's will, which quite frankly is none of her business. I am so disgusted that I will personally be switching banks from this experience. We then went to another branch, and the woman helped us by putting the details into the system and found my fathers information, went ahead and notified the Deceased Estate department too, certified all the documents - BASICALLY DID HER JOB. Such a shame to have had this experience this morning, at such a difficult time.
Accurate reviews by others on long queues, poor customer service and inability for staff to even be polite at Glen Waverley branch. Was the only one in queue and a staff member approached me quickly. I said I had to urgently amend my legal name and she said it would take 10-15mins. She then approached her colleague, an indian lady, who told her to tell me to come back another day. Asked if I could make a booking, they did so but a few days later. When I asked if other branches had earlier appointments available, I was abruptly told no without them checking. She was impatient and when I asked if I could do it myself online, she brushed me away. I have been an ANZ customer for 23 years and have never been treated so rudely. If its an organisational problem, ANZ should allocate money to staffing their branches rather than lining the pockets of their shareholders. Am so disappointed with a bank I used to trust.
Accompanied my parent to sort their banking. The Chinese guy with the very thick northern mandarin accent was extremely unhelpful, condescending, arrogant and treated us like we were fraudsters. Complete waste of my time. He insisted on speaking Mandarin, when we told him Cantonese. My mum couldn’t understand his thick accent and I ended up needing to translate the Mandarin for her LOL. AND my preferred language is ENGLISH but he just refused to speak to me. What a nob head. However, credit to the younger Asian guy with hair, who looks like an ABC, who helped us the day before. He was great. Wish the service was consistent between personnel.
Great Bank and Location. Too bad about the service , for which there is an extensive wait time and even bookings. Dwindling are the days where you can just walk into a bank and have someone friendly assist you promptly. Now it’s just a “cold” can I help you ( as if they’re doing you a favour) IF you’re lucky …. You’ll also get the “Have you made an appointment” …. Lol ….. even their ATM machines suffer from constantly being disabled or are unable to perform some functions. FIX it ….. your service , your ATMs and allow and/or open for walk in customers and clients.

Very unhappy with the customer service not once but 4 times.. I have been told off notes are not clean stand in the corner wipe them and bring it back rudely by ANJALI , second time was talking on the phone to my supplier as I run a business and dnt find time after waiting in the phone que for 30 minutes was told off rudely again by ANJALI that I am not allowed to talk on the phone while waiting at the counters She could have been a lil nice about it..
Went here to obtain a financial plan with their financial planner. We paid for it, he honestly didn't listen to us, our needs, our requirements. It was evident to us from the first time we met him that he was commission driven, not driven by our wants or needs. We lodged a complaint, the so called district manager in John didn't even wish to refund any money even after admitting our plan was over optimistic. We left ANZ Bank after this bad experience.
Incompetent and unprofessional staff, terrible service, tellers were not working, two atm machines and one of them was broken (no signage, no support, no one cares). Manager was an Indian lady, with zero conflict resolution skills, front desk person was a young Chinese girl, spoken broken English and had no training at all. The Glen is sold off to Chinese, feel like a foreigner and a minority in my own suburb after 30 years.
Consistently poor service since move to different bank format and move into The Glen. Lengthy queues and poor service, a recurring issue since the move has now been replaced by an offer to make an appointment in an hour, my time cost for this delay being many times the value of cheque I was seeking to deposit. Simply unacceptable for a bank claiming to offer customer service, prompting a probable move to another bank.
Just recently dealt with Jackie Li for my banking needs. He is very knowledgeable, experienced and helpful, turned something extremely stressful to relaxed and pleasant. Other banks would probably treat my issue as trivial, he treated my needs as important as I felt they were in an efficient manner. I will definitely be directing all my banking needs to him in the future. Highly recommend him to everybody!
I should have read the reviews before going and waiting 3/4 hour to be served. I've been waiting ages, just when your turn is up, you don't get called. Instead, other staff members come out from behind the walls and request coins to be countered. That in itself took 15 minutes. HAHAHAHAHA what a joke. I'll simply take my business to another banking organisation.
Second visit here and the last! Feels like that are doing you a big favour just by seeing you. Staff are friendly but as usual boxed into a 10min appointment after which you find they can't help you anyway. Lucky all my wasted time lifts their 2.3B profit. Would be easier to cancel my accounts than get my address changes!
The staff is very rude and judgmental and they really do not understand what I am trying to say in words and in amount. After staying in Australia for more than 3 years, the worst experience of my life. I never recommend to anyone to open a bank account in ANZ and I am really thinking of closing the bank account.
Very unhelpful. If the Cuban missile crisis can be solved with a phone call, I shouldn't need to go into the branch to split my home loan (If I can verify all details over the phone) Handballing the work to other branches. Asking me where my closest branches are- you're the one who works at ANZ- you tell me!
Absolutely diabolical service! Only started serving customers at 9.36am. Staff were unprepared, unhelpful and were more like slackers! ANZ CEO , please do something about this! Not befitting of the company. Would give negative stars if possible. Look at all the terrible reviews of this branch.
Do yourself a favour and go with another bank. It's already all been said - long queue times, only one teller on, you must make an appointment if you want to be seen in under an hour of queue time and even then I see people waiting for ages for their appointment.
I thought the Glen was hands down the worst ANZ branch I had the misfortune of visiting, but today I went into the ANZ South Melbourne…as impossible as it sounds it actually plumbs new depths in terms of a being a diabolical shambles for customer service.
Small but cozy branch in the mall. My family went in on a Friday afternoon and with loads of inquiries, manager Jacky Li greeted us warmly and solved our issues efficiently. Greatly exceeded expectations. Best branch in the neighbourhood for sure.
1 person at the teller 20 people waiting I bank at the ANZ 40 years. It has gone down hill. Since the have moved. Three of the ladies that used work there have left. They were best ladies and workers the were very loyal to ANZ and there clients.
understaffed and its not even the weekend! Using the machines for deposit is a pain! Such a slow process and does not take notes for no reason and keeps spitting them back out. SO USELESS. Ended up going to another ANZ and was better.
Went to open new account, was told need an appointment to do so. I asked are they sure appointment is compulsory, then they said they are not really they are just too busy. Why can’t you be honest from the start. Bunch of lairs.
Worst customer service experience ever.... Under staffed and they can't handle simple inquiry (debit charges in my account without any reason) without an appointment. If you could, please avoid this Glen Waverley branch.
Excellent experience with the help of Jackie! He was very friendly and patient to me, demonstrating everything in detail. I don't need worry about how to operate the APP at all as he taught me step by step! Nice guy!
Good service from Jackie. Booked am appointment today to open an offset account and he helped me with every details. Even chose a pink card color. Also Jackie introduced other following steps afterwards in detail
Worst customer service. Avoid at all cost. Manager doesn’t care about what customers need and employees have very bad attitude towards their customers. Formally logged a complaint with ANZ, but was of no use.
I went to this branch with my daughter for something about home loan and Jackie received us. He's very professional in this project and answered my questions patiently. Thanks so much for his help.

The deposit function with the smart ATM machine never works. Please make it work so that everybody don't have to wait for half an hour on 1 teller counter to make deposit.
Horrible experience, staff were so incredibly unhelpful, trying to rush you out as soon as I stepped in the door. So rude, find another branch if you have to go into ANZ
Always a massive line. 1 teller only. Don’t have a change machine for dispensing coins etc like many branches now have. Just dread needing to complete banking here.
