Was quoted a diagnostic fee (approximately $160) to figure out why a certain code kept firing off even though I replaced some parts. I had no problem paying that fee. I did all the easy stuff myself and was frustrated because I couldn't get my check engine light to turn off. So my last resort was to take my vehicle into a shop. With that in mind, I had a general sense that it could be one of two options. I asked them to try the least expensive option first, to which we verbally agreed on. Now this is where my problem lies. I dropped off my car 11/14 and was told that I would receive a call later in the day to discuss the diagnostic findings. The whole day went by and no call, I gave them the benefit of the doubt they might have been supper busy. The next day, they finally reached out to me in the morning. They determined from their "master tech" that it was my VVT solenoid on B1. I was quoted, approximately $750 to have the solenoid replaced, that included diagnostic fee. I was reassured that was the likely cause of the problem. As I mentioned above, I agreed to having that fixed, now knowing that was the cause of my persistent check engine light and was properly "diagnosed" by their again "master technician". In a sense, I had a peace of mind. Fast forward to approximately 2:00 pm, I had not heard from them to come pick up the vehicle. Which again, prompted me to call them to see if it was completed. This is where I become more discouraged, the person on the phone informed me that the solenoid valve sensor assembly needed to be replaced (this was the more expensive route and the second option I believed to be the culprit of the check engine light) and was quoted approximately 2.3K. This was a big difference from the original quote. Keep in mind this was after the "master tech" determined that it was the VVT solenoid. At this point, I did not think a diagnostic was even completed and felt more like a bait and switch. After telling me that the assembly cap needed to be replaced, I asked them if they tried replacing the VVT solenoid. To which they said "no". At this point, I asked if I can come pick up my car due to them not performing the service that we agreed on. It gets better, they then told me that the assembly was already taken apart. I was never contacted nor did I agree to have them perform that service. In addition to that, I was told that a new gasket was needed to put it back together (which I am thankful that they were honest about that). Furthermore, I was told I could take the car home, knowing that there was a compromised or no gasket in place to safely operate the vehicle. We agreed to have everything put back together with the new gasket and I would come pick it up the next day. The following day I expected them to communicate with me an ETA on when I could expect to pick up my vehicle; which did not happen. Again....I was prompted to call and inquire. I was told they received the part and should be ready to pick up in an hour or so. Fast forward approximately 4 hours, no call. Again, I had to call to see if it was ready for pick up and was happy to hear that it was. This service should have taken a day, two days max to complete. I give them a three star due to Shannon doing damage control, explaining to me the situation of what happened, and made it right by not charging me for any of the service fees. I did pay for the new gasket, which is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I would have given them a one star had she not make it right and for their poor communication with me as a customer. I should not have to call to check the status. In view, I was without a car for 3 days and my check engine light is still on. Needless to say, this is the reason why people do not trust mom and pop auto shops. I try to support local businesses but I'll pay extra to the auto dealerships to not deal with these kinds of situations. I do not think I would consider being a repeat client.

Took car in for engine surging and stalling. Joe said they would take a look at it. Was called to pick up the car, that it was ready but shop would be closed entire week of 4th of July. Picked up July 11th and paid a bill of $212. Car died in their driveway as I pulled out on to Deer Valley Road. Car died 2 more times between their shop and 33 Ave. Turned around and nursed it back to Action Auto and contacted Tom at the front desk. He responded by bringing a mechanic out from the shop that worked on it. The mechanic told me that when he pulled it out of their garage that morning, it wouldn't start and he had to take the air cleaner off and squirt gas into the carburetor to get it started. When I asked what was done to it to repair the original problem, he told me that he removed the top of the carburetor and saw some foreign material in the bottom of the float bowl so he cleaned it out with a shop rag and squirted some carburetor cleaner into it then replaced the top. This less than satisfactory procedure did nothing to repair the original problem. I complained to Tom at the front desk that $212 to wipe out the carburetor and squirt carb cleaner into it was excessive. Tom made no effort to adjust the cost or offer to actually repair the original problem, glared at me and went to another customer at the front desk and ignored me. I have been a long time customer and have referred many friends and family members to this shop, and I have spent considerable amounts of money there. I was later contacted by their office manager, Cathy, by text, inquiring as to the quality of their service. I responded negatively and was recontacted by Cathy. I explained what happened. Cathy said she would talk to Tom about it and get back to me. A couple of days went by with no response from Cathy, so I recontacted her asking what Tom's response was. I have never received any further contact from anyone at Action Auto. My car still has the original problem and I am unable to drive it. I will never recommend Action Auto to anyone again and will tell anyone who asks about this shop what they did to me, a once loyal customer.

I bought this car with 98,000 miles on it after having new cars for 20 years. I was trying to find the DMV (which was difficult for a new guy in town). I stopped into this auto parts store thinking THEY will know all the repair shops and hopefully can give me a referral to an honest, reliable, value priced shop that does GREAT work. Right under my nose was a rack of business cards. The girl came from behind the counter and said here's Steve and Tom, Tom, Tom..."I don't have any more of Tom's cards handy" but I'll get his # out of the computer for you. I called Tom first who was away visiting a sick relative but, father-in-law, Dan (first day filling in) answered the phone. Responding to my inquiry, he quickly said Tom's been in business 27 years and works primarily by referrals. Went to the shop to see mostly "collector cars"...I'm in...I never called Steve. The car's been good to me over 2 1/2 years. Two headlights that were a bit tricky to replace on this car but, was done quickly and at a reasonable price. Taillight bulb went out (cops love seeing that because you can't) they popped one in at no charge. I got swayed away by a coupon for a cheap oil change at a competing shop, but, when they had the car, they tried to scare me into $1500 of additional repairs. Got written estimates and went to Action to see if they could match or beat the prices. Joe (the brains...sorry Tom) called some parts stores, figured the labor and they were in line but, my preferred shop and closer to home. Joe said"Here's the estimates but, you don't to have this work done, now. Little front end noise flying over speed bumps, of course. If you can live with that, save your money". Ever hear of another mechanic saying that? Totally, trustworthy and honest which is rare in the Auto Repair business. Five stars (or better) for Action Auto Repair!!!!!

EXPENSIVE - First off, let me say that they are fair and honest. When looking for an auto repair shop that is what you are looking for but you pay for the honesty. I have experienced this 3 different times now. As an example, I tried to start my car last night and it did not turn over. I thought it might be the battery but when I tried it today, the car started without an issue but the 'Check Engine" light was illuminated. I dropped my car off on the way to work and they said that they would check it out. Joe called later in the morning telling me that the battery tested as bad and that the low voltage possibly was causing the fault with the check engine light. I have a warranty on my current battery and I thought about redeeming it when he told me that a battery would be $168.00. I need my car tomorrow so I cant run around the city and make another appointment for my car. I know that batteries for my car run about $80-$100 depending on where you go but I would pay the extra for the convenience. He called in the afternoon and told me that my total would be $305.00 dollars and that it was just the battery. After telling him that I thought that he said that the battery was only going to be $168.00 he said that was just for the battery. The testing was another $80.00 they had to pay labor and some other things. Ultimately I paid $305.00 for a new battery which I can, and have replaced myself. I will not be going here again.

I've moved to the area recently and needed a trusted repair shop, I took a chance on the Action Auto based on favourable google reviews. I'm glad I discovered such a gem of a place. From the get-go they were professional, pleasant, accomodating, and fast, and to top it off, they were very honest and affordable, which is so major that I truly feel lucky. Things could have gone bad if I went somewhere else. I had a weird noise coming from the front of my car and my first thought was it could be my brakes, or suspenssion ( or who knows what other 100 little or serious issues as well). They could have told me whatever they wanted and I would have to take their word for it, but instead they told me to do an oil change, (since mine was low,) start there, and see if that resolves my problem. Lo and behold, it did the trick. No costly diagnostics, or smoke and mirrors game , just an honest advise, a prudent approach, and keen eyes of seasoned professionals to handle my car like an A team. I must admit that not keeping tabs on my oil level was pretty foolish of me, and that could have tempted anyone to take an advantage of someone seemingly clueless, and yet I was in great hands that did not fail. Thank you everyone at Action Auto, from the front to the back of the shop everyone was wonderful.

Having an issue with my wifes Montego, I had her bring it up to Action Auto repair. Being a computer issue with the climate control, I knew this was way above my DIY skills and decided I'll just pay them to fix it. I work more than average, so I asked my wife if she could take it up and just drop it off. Joe, had arranged to have my wife driven back to our house by a very polite young woman. I spoke to Joe only by phone explaining what I had done. He said due to the nature of the issue, I would be looking at an hourly rate. I figured that. At the end of the day, Joe called to say the issue was above what their computers could resolve. Not the answer I wanted to hear as I knew I was paying by the hour for this answer. When I asked what the charge was, the answer shocked me. No charge. They had the car all afternoon, took time to figure out what was going on and then, did not charge me for it. (BTW, the issue had to do with my instrument cluster and because it has a fixed odometer, the dealership was my only option). I applaud their honesty, and their help in which direction to go. They will now have my business for my company vehicles from here on out. Highly approve!

Update 6-28-2022 I won't go into detail...but once again...they have proven to be eager to go above and beyond in their service...even when super busy they still take time out for their customers and have saved me from being without a vehicle at a key time. The ACTION AUTO TEAM are my HEROES!!!! I cannot sing my praises loud enough for the multiple experiences i have had at this business. Every single employee I have had an interaction with has been exemplary.. From the people work in the counter to the mechanics working on my vehicle to the people. Driving me to my destination and picking me up when the work is completed... Every one of them has been fantastic!!! The prices they charge are very reasonable. And the work is done correctly the first time every time. And they take the time to explain everything thoroughly and not ever being condescending. This is the only mechanic shop that I've ever met where I would feel comfortable sending a girlfriend or a female family member to, and know they won't get ripped off. If I could give them another five stars, I would. These guys should wear capes as part of their uniforms...they are all superheroes in my book!

For nearly 20 years our family has depended on Tom, Joe, Jose, Kathy and the MORE than capable staff at Action Auto for prompt, expert, reasonably priced auto repairs. We live miles from their shop in North Phoenix. Never have we given a second thought to look for a repair shop closer to home. We are certainly not alone. Once, a year or 2 ago we had an issue with one of our cars that required imediate attention. I limped the car to a shop around the corner from where the trouble started. The estimate I got after a day wait was 4 times more than Action Auto. Needless to say I had the car towed to them! I should have done just that from the start. The gang at Action Auto has NEVER failed us. They are friendly, professional, honest, and prompt. Their shuttle service takes the worry out of finding a ride by others to and from the shop. They only install OEM or equvalent quality parts. For us, with older cars that we choose to keep running right, great parts translate in to longer life for our vehicles. Need I say more? Would not recommend for alignment (although I cannot say anything about their other repair services). Took my PowerStroke in to get it aligned - it went from pulling hard left to pulling hard right. After dealing with it for awhile on the road, I finally took it back after <10k miles and they were going to charge me for another alignment with additional front end repairs (pitman arm repair, etc). I ended up taking it to another shop nearby who said the repairs weren’t necessary and they ended up fixing my alignment - drives perfect now, first time in years it doesn’t drift or jerk to the side when I break (even without being charged for the extra “repairs”). I’ve only been to Action Auto twice, but I haven’t had a great experience, although they’re still friendly. I wish they would’ve fixed the alignment the first time (although I was in a hurry - the paperwork showed it was in the “green,” but it was easy to tell that it pulled hard to the right to the point where it was unsafe when towing), or at least done a 2nd alignment at low cost without requiring repairs that weren’t necessary.

This is one of those shops you stay away from unless you like to get robbed!! After coming in for alignment and a bad stud/lugnut wouldnt come off wheel. They said the wheel assembly and motor mounts need to be done. I said, "Let's just do the alignment and wheel assembly." No one ever advised me that the car will not drive straight if you do not fix the motor mounts Making the allignment job Pointless to do.They said ok we'll get that done for you, no problem. Car is Still Pulling to the right Does not drive straight. Now they tell me it's because of your motor mounts that they did recommend to fix but At no time did anyone say if you don't fix the mounts, the alignment job is pointless to have done. Only after I complained now they explained it all. The first time, they returned the car to me, the brand new wheel assembly had a cross threaded lugnut and they had the balls to say hey we fixed that for free saying I might have been the one to do it! Just under $700, still not driving straight. Thanks, Action Auto!

After going to another shop to get a "look over" of my vehicle and hit with an absurd fix that was drastically needed and with a price over 1500$ dollars for 2 back wheels needing new everything from tires to rotors and brakes and more, I decided to get a second opinion and a professional inspection of my vehicle. After dropping off my vehicle and meeting both the front end and mechanic who would look after my vehicle I was relieved at the courtesy and professionalism. A quick shuttle home and before I knew it they were already calling me about the situation with my vehicle. A simple repair and a hassle free experience. Simple. Easy. affordable. During the call they would tell me how they found the problem. Multiple test drives to make sure all was fixed correctly and before I knew it I was on my way home saving over 900$ and better yet, having a mechanic I could trust to take care of me. Thank you Joe and Jesse for taking care of me and I look forward to coming again if I ever need a repair for my vehicle.

If you have an older car, please don't take it here. Took my 2005 Honda accord for a simple alignment and wheel assembly $700 later I'm still driving completely crooked. These people are scammers and when you're not happy the responses to honest customer reviews is disgusting. The mechanic Lonny accused us of cross-threading our lug nut after they fixed our wheel assembly improperly. They just didn't want to admit to their own wrongdoing. He tried to say they fixed it for free after we brought it back. The front desk woman seemed awfully apologetic after they realized their mistake so it clearly wasn't our fault. The other reviews of people giving negative feedback is absolutely true and had I taken those reviews into consideration I would have gone elsewhere. The building may have been there for 40 years but there's absolutely no way it's the same person because these people are scammers. They clearly don't know how to be honest and will take your money and leave your car worse then you brought it in.

I chose this shop for the VVR program solely based off reviews, and now I have my own testimony to add. The customer service was outstanding as well as time frame. I dropped off my Jeep Friday late afternoon in which Nick gave me the heads up they weren’t going to be able to touch it till Monday morning. By Monday afternoon the problem was fixed and I was back on the road. It definitely made it easier that Action Auto voluntarily took my vehicle to get retested, and I didn’t get charged for it. Today I received a follow up text asking if everything with my vehicle was okay. To be honest, my vehicle is running great. I usually do all the work on all my vehicles myself but it is nice to know there is a shop that will take care of their customers and then some. Great work guys! I will be recommending you guys to others and even myself in the future. Nick is the man. Ask for him if you ever need any work done.

6 years ago, I moved from Hawaii and was in need of an honest and professional team of mechanics to work with a European car amongst others. Action Auto was recommended and from the first time I met the team I have never been disappointed. From the owner Tom, who is customer facing and hands on to his team including Cathy, Tonia and the outstanding team of professionals in the workshop. Nothing is too big a problem, with the always verbiage of, "We will fix the issue, we can get the parts, if it's not correct just come back"' Every one of the team are solution focused always providing excellent customer service. I will not hesitate to continually recommend Action Auto whether it be for a simple oil change or more in-depth mechanical work. I love action repair. I like the fact that you can get a ride to and from wherever you need to be rather than just one ride. I love it that they found the problems on my truck and I felt like they knew exactly what was wrong with my truck but I didn't know how to describe it to get it fixed but they found those problems and fixed them. It cost me a bit of money but it was worth it because I haven't done that much work on my truck. Anyway. I would definitely give them a shout out to try them. I would recommend them for any of your automotive service needs and highly recommend them if you're having any problems. Things I didn't like about it. I didn't like the fact that I had to pay for a diagnostic fee when they did so much other work and they got paid so much money anyway. Maybe they should have gave me a rebate for their diagnostic fee because they did so much work. Just saying.

I bought a used car in February when it was much cooler outside. As the temps started to rise, I noticed the AC in my car was not blowing cold air, even when on full blast. I took my car to a nearby shop who said it just needed freon. They put freon in it and I was charged $150. That didn't work... it still didn't blow air. I wanted a second opinion so I took it to Action Auto Repair a few weeks ago. Thank goodness I did!! They figured out the real issue; my car was missing the air cabin filter. They installed the air cabin filter and now my AC is blowing cold. This is an absolute essential in Phoenix in the summer! The guys at Action Auto Repair are a life saver, literally. I don't have to worry about passing out at the wheel from heat exhaustion when it's 110 + degrees out. They were very professional and I received great customer service. I definitely recommend them.

I have been a faithful customer for two years but I will now search for an honest automotive shop. I dropped my car off on 04/19/2021; the lady called me on Wednesday the 21st and said the AC compressor was not turning on and to troubleshoot it was going to cost $150 just for a diagnostic (any dealer will charge $100 for diagnostics). I said to her that's odd because the compressor was kicking in I just needed a freon recharge told her I was going to think about it. 4/22/2019 I went to pick up my car, get in and now there's a check engine light. It is more likely than not that the person intentionally sabotaged my car. There's no evidence to prove or disprove the instance but they have now lost a faithful customer. *Dishonest people * Higher diagnostics fee than the dealer. All I needed was a recharge and now have a handful of problems.

Absolutely fantastic shop! Tom and all of the crew are courteous, respectful, helpful and most of all trustworthy! It is such a blessing to have a repair facility that you completely trust. They are very thorough in explaining the repair needed and will answer all of my questions. I had a vehicle that had everything that model was known for being bad go wrong - but, was determined to keep the car forever (I got over that!) In that process I have been to Action numerous times and was ALWAYS confident in the service. Referral is the best compliment you can give a business - and I refer all of my friends and family to Action Auto knowing that they will be treated in the same manner. I know have teenagers driving and have no problem sending them in work on their vehicle.

We need to boycott this place people: This is the reason why. "A surveillance camera at an auto shop nearby shows the gunman’s movements, and the mayhem he caused. The owner of Action Auto Repair, Tom O’Kane, shared the surveillance footage with detectives and FOX 10. He points out the white car that pulls into the parking lot, where Williams was in the midst of firing off his rifle. Two people inside that car were fired upon and killed. For several minutes, you can see the profile of Williams and the flashlight on his rifle as he walked around, randomly firing. "Absolutely ridiculous, and after seeing what power these bullets can do, there’s no need for it to have this kind of stuff on the street," O’Kane said."

So I found this shop because of the state VVR program to help with emissions, I chose it because of the reviews and I can tell you I was not disappointed! This place is great, they were very accommodating. My car was not an easy task and it took several weeks to finally get it passed because of me needing the car back and having to drive it through the drive cycles but they were very helpful every step of the way, by the end of it all the shuttle driver didn’t even have to use the gps to get to my house. They made me feel like family, and never at any point did I feel I was being taken advantage of. I highly recommend Action Auto they really know what they’re doing and are very honest. I am forever grateful!

Action auto repair is the place you want to take your vehicles. Not only do they give a 3 year warranty on all repairs but they honor the warranty with no hidden fees. Was having issues with my vehicle and Nick was more than helpful and took care of the situation. Action auto did some work on my vehicle and took care of me. They replaced a bad spark plug and the valve cover gasket all for 0 dollars since it was under warranty. They even dropped me off and picked me up when I left my vehicle. Thanks Action auto and thanks Nick for taking the time to answer questions and helping with my vehicle's idling after you guys closed. ACTION AUTO rocks!

Customer service experience is definitely 5 stars. They are detailed and gave an estimated time frame of completion and exceeded the time frame. They offered to take me home, which I politely declined so i could exercise and walk my dog. (Side note and bonus points they are also dog people). They ordered my parts the day before my appointment to insure they had them ready. They called me once they had my truck up on the lift and an inspection completed to let me know what they found. The overall experience evaluation is they have a customer for as long as I am in the valley. Support local, support small business.

Action Auto Repair has been my Go-To Repair shop for over two years. They don't cut corners and don't dish-out any B.S. They just tell you the facts and make honest suggestions to get your wheels back on the road. They work on my Toyota & Ford Diesel and have not left me hanging. Their prices are very reasonable and workmanship top notch. They have a mechanic who specializes on Porsches and another on Mini Coopers. Joe & Nick run the front office and both are qualified mechanics, so they know what they're talking about. They're closed on the weekends so plan ahead. You won't be disappointed.

The alternator was going out on my RAV4. They were able to get me in the same day. This is a great and professional place to go to. Very clean place. Very clean waiting room. They also have a shuttle to take you home if need be and pick you up. They diagnose the problem and give you price options. My repairs were completed the same day. Could I have paid a few dollars less somewhere else? Yes.. but I chose to have them install an OEM alternator instead of a rebuilt one or a generic one. Alternator came with a 36000 mile warranty. I am very pleased with this place and I will go back.

I will add or edit to this review after services are complete. I brought my car here Friday morning I was told they were very busy and would probably be all day. They have a shuttle service to bring me home so that was fine. I received a call just before they closed saying they haven’t had time to look at the car yet and it would be Monday. I believe her name was Ashley (I hope) went to my car, got my baby’s car seat out, and drove it all the way to me! That level of customer service is so unheard of and being a single mom with no family in town this was so appreciated! Thank you!

Extremely professional service!! The staff has such a great energy, making you feel comfortable and safe. They are definitely helpful as well as genuinely caring. Ashley commincated so well and made it easier for someone like me(who knows nothing about cars) to understand what was going on clearly. They repaired what was needed easily and quickly. I am happy I decided to take a chance with this business. They even went the extra mile to fix some plastic that had been hanging from my car for FREE. I will definitely be returning as a regular costume for oil changes/etc. God bless

Our daughter received super Action Auto service via phone yesterday. She said she smelled a foul odor while traveling near Gallup NM with her four kids. Our FIXD monitor showed no alarms. We discussed the situation and shared a few pics under the hood with Nick at Action Auto. We all concluded a rodent nesting under the hood fell out of its nest at highway speed. A local shop in Gallup confirmed Action’s diagnosis and gave us an all clear. Meredith and kids were on their way with only a relatively short and low cost delay. A good auto repair shop is usually hard to find, but Action Auto is THE place. I know and trust Joe for several years, and I followed him from SunTech to Action Auto a few years ago. Action Auto is interested in their customers, and their people are competent, efficient and honest. This is not a place that will try to get you to spend your money on unnecessary repairs. I have found their prices to be fair, and whenever they have told me something about my car, it has always turned out to be helpful and true. I trust this shop and I will continue to get my car serviced there.

The group at Action Auto are great. My daughter is a full time college student bought her own car with her high school graduation money. Her dad and I bought her a 5 oil change package from the dealership. We took the car in for its oil change and they told us she needed a new transmission. Action Auto fixed her transmission leak and saved her $2500 in unnecessary charges because they didn’t want to take the time to fix the car. I have an insurance office in Scottsdale and will be recommending Action Auto to all of my customers. Thank you The Gambrel’s

WOW, just Wow, They guy are incredible. On my way out of town, they got me in right away, took care of my issue with my truck in a very timely manner and a great price. Also the office staff followed up with me to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. You just don't get service like that anymore, they really care about doing it right and making sure their customer is taken care of. Thank all of you, from the great Counter guys, to the mechanics who fixed it so fast and the very pleasant office Lady who contacted me after the repair.

This morning I could not get my Jeep in gear, so I was limping with my car along Deer Valley Road at 15 mph all the way to this repair shop. They took my Jeep right away to replace the clutch and it took about 6 hours until I was able to get the car back. They also answered any questions I had right away, and threw in a free pair of wiper blades. They also gave me a credit onto their auto club card that could cover most of an oil change. They also had a shuttle available right away that brought me to work. Awesome first time experience!

Stumbled upon them by accident a few years back - through a friend. But every time I go I get outstanding service. Once, they farmed a job out to another vendor because it wasn't their specialty and would have cost me $800 of their time. The other vendor cost me $150. At all times they are very accommodating. Same day service. Pickup/drop-off when I need it. Staying open a little late to finish me up (even on a holiday weekend). You can trust these guys, and their service always "works".

I loved this place! I made an appointment for a body shop on accident when I meant to make an appointment for a mechanic. I took time off of work and really needed my car fixed, and this place was able to get me in immediately and had my car done the very next day. It's been great since then, prices were reasonable, and they were super friendly. They also gave me a ride home! I'm new to Phoenix and even though I have mechanics closer to home, this place will be my new go-to. Thank you!

We used this place a couple of times for basic car maintenance, including oil changes. Every time they tried to push the synthetic oil on us and each time we turned it down and used conventional oil. But this last time (and I do mean the last time!) they didn’t even asked and just went ahead and used the synthetic oil without asking and charged us $60 instead of the usual $20. My husbands company had just gone out of business and we were on one income and they totally screwed us!

This company very professional from the get go. I was met at the front counter by Joe, explained my problem he new right off hand what I was talking about. I've worked on my own vehicles, but being very busy I took it here looking over the reviews. They called me letting me know the diagnosis and what the cost was. Had my fuel pump changed out and my Truck was ready next day. Week later I recieved a follow up call, that was nice. I highly recommend Action Auto Repair. Richard.

Called on a late morning of a Friday and my part was ready by the same afternoon. I had called another place the day prior and they still didn't have my part ready and were more expensive. Being a female (and of color), I'm always weary of these types of places because they tend to take advantage of people. This place is great with Great customer service. I have taken my old Chevy pickup there twice because of problems with emissions. Both times they diagnosed the problem and got it to pass. They even took it to get retested for me, so saving me from taking time off work to get it tested. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good honest shop for there car. They do have a little bit of a wait time right now (11/2022) so try to make an appointment, and plan ahead

**Beware-Don’t fall for the great price of the oil change. I got an oil change here, that went perfect, so I thought. Next day the check engine light came on...OK. I take it back to the shop and they tell me it looks like the O2 sensors have never been changed. I find it seriously ironic that after I get an oil change and you tell me how well taken care of my car is, that the O2 sensors “ironically” now need changing. I will be doing some serious follow up.

They also replaced the rear main bearing. When the new (but defective) OEM oil pan gasket continued to leak they stood by their work. No hassle! They replaced defective gasket with a higher quality gasket and re-replaced the rear main bearing. I have no oil drips in my garage. Thx.

My 2012 Ram had a check engine light on. I scheduled an appointment for a Thursday morning and they had my truck back on the road Friday afternoon! Joe explained everything that was needed and they even have me a ride back to my house! Fantastic customer service, did not up-sell me on anything. Being new to the Phoenix area about a year ago, it was hard to know where to look for a trusted mechanic. Well, the Google reviews didn't lie! I would rate this shop higher if I could. Super friendly, great prices, great work, and great communication. The shuttle service is a great perk as well. Shame on me for not getting other quotes for service needed or insisting on a detailed understanding of the estimate I was given which increased about 30% from what I was initially told, with no change in what was to be done.After the fact I checked other sources and found I may have paid 25-30% more than was typical for the same service. The only reason for two stars is the repairs appear to have been successful.

Had an inspection done for a Toyota that I was going to buy and took it here. They walked me thru everything that was concerning and gave me an estimate on how much the overall maintenance would cost which is pretty good for price haggling on purchasing a vehicle. They were extremely nice, and informative as if they were the ones purchasing the vehicle. I highly recommend this place if you want quality service!!

We live in Prescott, but our daughter lives in Phoenix. About a year ago, we needed a mechanic quickly and on her side of town. We found Action Auto Repair online with great reviews so we decided to use them. Best decision ever! They are friendly, do great work, clean shop and most importantly HONEST! We have been taking her car there since for other repairs. Oh, and they provide free shuttle service as well.

Very knowledgeable, honest, considerate to customer needs and a friendly bunch of people to provide top service. My husband needed to pass emissions after failing and they provided a shuttle to drop him off back home to me and out kids while we were sleeping! Then once they fixed the problem they took the car to the waiver station for recheck and passed the rest! As my husband says Happy Wife Happy life!!

My regular shop was booked solid and my car desperately needed an oil change so I called and they fit me in first thing in the morning even without an appointment! They found a leak but there was no pressure when I said I had to wait till payday to repair! The oil change didn’t take that long and I was back on the road in no time! Will definitely return to this shop everyone was so friendly and helpful!

This is a good clean shop. No loud music or worker distractions. They have a free shuttle service. They had me bring the Jeep in the next morning and had it fixed within a couple of hours. Cost was under a hundred dollars and included the free shuttle. My feeling about these folks is that they are very honest and won't fudge on the work they perform or the price estimate. I will be a repeat customer.

Best mechanic I ever had, knowledgable and friendly. Answered all my questions and even gave a couple pointers. I made the mistake of using another franchise mechanic, and the work was shoddy at best, needless to say, I learned a valuable lesson. Action Auto is great, I took my vehicle in because of starter issues. My vehicle was in and out within about 24 hrs, fantastic communication. Cathy followed up about a week later which I deeply appreciate, as Ive had subpar auto services from other businesses and they couldn’t have cared less whether or not I was happy with the service. 10/10 would come back again (hopefully not though lol).

The shop is clean and the gentleman at the front desk are friendly. If you're looking for cheap labor stay clear. They like to use OEM parts for the repairs which will cost more than Autozone parts. So if you have an older vehicle which you don't plan to keep long term, find a different shop. The work done here is done right and intended for vehicles you want to keep long term

I took my Hyundai Tiburon into two different dealerships and neither one of them could fix the problem all they could do is charge me a lot of money. And I also took it to three other mechanic shops none of them could fix it but these guys fixed it in one day for $300 I had already spent over $2,000 at the other places so I'll definitely come back to them in the future

Last week my Toyota Prius was having some issue of check engine light displayed on the dashboard. I took it to Action Auto Repair and they analyzed the issue thoroughly and called me with the details of the issue. I got the car next day with everything fixed. I have been driving the car for one week now and haven't seen any problem. Thanks guys for the great work!

Been using these guys for years now. Each time I've had work done I never have to go back for the same issue. They get it done right the first time, every time. I’ve been bringing my vehicles here for about 5 years and have never had any problems with the work that was done. They get you taken care of as fast as possible. Brakes went out and other shops were estimating $400-$500 to replace the master cylinder... I called Action Auto and Joe got my car in, looked at AND fixed in little over 2 hrs with a bill of less than $200! Turns out there was a leak right at the caliper no one else even bothered to look at or mention. I will not be going anywhere else. :-)

Tom and his crew are friendly, fast and thorough. We have compared prices and they are usually less, they do not over charge on their labor. We had a repair quoted by a shop up in Anthem that was going cost $1200+ for a water pump repair, Tom's price was significantly less and the turn around was faster. We love Action Auto Repair!

I had my 2015 GMC 3/4 ton brought in for a squealing noise in the rear left wheel. They pulled the wheel off and found that a rock was lodged between the dust shield and and caliber. They dislodged and did not charge me a dime for doing so! Good guys and great customer service!

My car broke down on the highway and I got it towed here. Probably some of the most honest and straightforward mechanics I've ever come across. I live in Tempe but I'll be coming back here for any future car trouble. Would highly recommend this place to anybody else.

Just recently moved here and needed our vehicle repaired, and was quoted $250 to $300 more for the exact same repair and parts. Way more than local shops nearby! Will never go there again. Upsetting!
