In September of last year I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. The severity scale was 4 out 5 according to my physicians. After being told how much they DONT'T know about this malady they sent me home with some antivirals and steroids which they said "may help some" but more or less all I could do was wait it out and it should pass in 3-4 months. That deadline came and past and I was not all that far removed from when I was first diagnosed. For anyone suffering from this affliction you know the impact it has on so many different and varied functions of your face and the social impact on your life. After 4 months I was still unable to close my left eye, facial symmetry on that side of my face was still noticeably drooped, and dozens of simple daily actions which we take for granted were difficult if possible at all. It was then I came to Dr. Wong. He immediately instituted a regimen combining acupuncture, with and without electro stim, heat therapy, and targeted facial pressure point massage Within a short period of time we began to see positive results. Through his depth of knowledge , skill at his craft, and talent for discerning the nuances of this affliction we made great strides together. It has been 9 months now and the strides I have made under his care have been amazing. After just a few months as his patient I was able to close my eye on its own and keep it closed at night without having to engage in any of the other difficult alternatives required before. The symmetry of my face has returned to the point that no one expressly looking for it would tell I had been affected by this affliction. I am now at the point that I need only see him every couple of weeks for a "tuneup" and although this has gone on longer than I was told originally I continue to make steady progress and am 90% back to normal. If you or a loved one happens to suffer from this malate I strongly advise to make an appointment to see Dr. Wong as soon as can be arranged. I am most confident that his skills and treatment regimen will make a profound difference for you as it has me., I truly believe that without his care I would not have recovered from this illness to anywhere near the degree I have today. So I am updating my post as once again Doctor Wong has come to my aid. I have been suffering from a severe Hamstring stain for 4 months now. I have diligently practiced PT every day as well as recently undergone a series of cortisone injections yet after all that I was still burdened by the same level of pain and affect on my mobility. I returned once again to Doc Wong who not only remembered every detail about our last work together, 5 years past, but was most confident he would be able to assist me once again. Well just several sessions later already there is a marked improvement and I feel confident I'm in the right hands. Once again when the strictly conventional medical dogma has failed Doctor Wong and his unique ability to meld the ancient and the old with the new and modern have come through yet again If you are in a similar situation as me and no one seems able to offer you relief and hope please give Doctor Wong a chance. For over 4 years, and $20 Thousand plus dollars in different areas of medical specialists I finally have found what appears to be the answer to my long standing pain. I have an extremely rare pain disorder that cause me severe pain while sitting. Pelvic floor dysfunction is not something you are comfortable bringing up to friends and family at public events. It’s a very personal and embarrassing problem. The worst part is the fact that it causes severe debilitating pain almost constantly. This pain is exasperated upon simply sitting. I have not eaten a meal sitting in over 4 years. I’ve been to countless specialists, therapists and so called experts in this field, with no relief in sight. Until Dr. Wong. His amazing technical abilities in the expertises of Acupuncture and Biofeedback have made a countless difference in my pain in a very short time. I have been attending PT and Acupuncture with Dr.Toa Chris Wong at Acuphysio for more than a month. The staff are professional and friendly always. The location is good as Victory Blvd is a major and very accessible street on Staten Island. Their scheduling is well done as I have never had more than a 15 minute wait, even at their busiest times. Dr.Toa Chris Wong is very calm and reassuring, as he is extremely skilled in the practice of Acupuncture and other Eastern and Western pain management techniques. I have had excellent pain management success for two very painful conditions, and I am also pleased with his exercise program to help me to gain core strength. There is never any performance pressure, as I have experienced in other PT facilities, as their concern for comfort and safety is very noticeable. The physical plant is very spacious, comforting, and well lite, and there is a good variety of exercise machines. I have been an RN for 45+years and feel extremely grateful for the care I am receiving at Acuphysio Acupuncture and Physical Therapy, and highly recommend this facility for all ages for PT, and especially for pain management.

I have been seeing Dr Wong since 2011 when I was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy‘s in 2010. I wish I would’ve came to see him sooner because the paralysis on my face was pretty bad. After a few months of treatment of acupuncture Dr Wong was able to get my face back to 95% I was able to smile more had more closure of my eye and had more confidence about my facial appearance. Then after that I kept coming here throughout the years for back ,knee, hip, shoulder issues .His staff is friendly and courteous ,they go the extra mile to make sure that you’re doing your exercises correctly.Throughout the years I have gotten acupuncture done to multiple parts of my body at different random places and Dr Wong is the only one that actually can get the needle deep enough to release the pain and he knows just by touching you where to place the needles . He’s a master at his craft .I would recommend him to anyone that is contemplating getting acupuncture but maybe has been scare off because of having to have needles placed on their body , He does it with such ease you don’t even realize that he’s doing it . I found accuphysio on internet in search for relief for my back pain. Dr. Wong explained that six weeks of treatment should reduce my pain by 50%. With the combination of physical therapy and accupunture in about the fourth week of sessions I believe the relief in my back is more than 50% better. Each session Dr. Wong answers my questions and is very positive. Both the physical therapist, Kristine and Greg target my areas of need during message and give me appropriate excersizes for my condition. They are also very personable. The rest of the staff such as Sam and Alec are super helpful with intake and answering questions about insurance and making appointments. I absolutely recommend the combination of accupunture and physical therapy for pain relief and I specifically recommend Dr. Wong’ s accuphysio.

Dr Wong and all personnel especially Wing are friendly and are very professional and have improved my condition of the hip and spine. My appointments are on time with no waiting and the young ladies at the desk are helpful. Also, Theresa helps me and is aware of my needs. The treatment of acupuncture, cupping with warming light are helpful for my condition. The physical therapy exercises are timed and help me to become more mobile. I like the handicap parking and usually find a spot there to park my car for easy access to the office and most people will open the door for me when I enter or exit. Dr. Wong is godsend. I have been suffering with severe dry eye and chronic sinus inflammation for over a year. It has made my day to day life miserable. I have been under the care of an ENT / allergist and opthomologist during this time all prescribing medications which have not helped me. After my second visit with Dr. Wong, I can breath with ease and have not used eye drops for 2 days. Before I would have to constantly be putting lubricanting drops throughout the day. There are no words to describe my gratitude . He is also treating my husband's back. After surgery he developed scar tissue which has made recovery difficult . Thank you Dr. Wong. On Saturday 7/19, I entered the waiting area and was barely acknowledged by receptionist. She presented me with a clipboard and paperwork to fill out . After approx 10 mins she announced to the waiting area that my insurance did not cover PT. 2 weeks prior to the apt I gave my insurance info over the phone and did not hear back from TLC so I expected that ins covered visits. She stated that they attempted to call and leave message on my cell but were unable too When I asked if there were any other options the receptionist replied " you can pay $100.00 for the visit/eval". Needless to say I will not be going back to Clove lake physical therapy

I'm a lifetime track and field runner (51 years). A couple of weeks ago I was diagnosed with a hamstring tear (4.1cm) at the point of insertion. It's a problem that I've had for months that shut down my training. It resulted in what runner's call a 'dead leg' (i.e. can't get that lift and extension when running). The day after my first acupuncture session I was able to do a 3 mile tempo run with some 'lift'. I've been coupling this treatment with strength exercises around the gluteus area, but, after 6 sessions, I feel that the acupuncture has been the real turning point. So much so that I am writing this recommendation. Good luck.

After 6 sessions of therapy They dropped the ball so to speak and told me they have to call my insurance for clearance to do more sessions and they will be in touch in a couple days almost 2 weeks later I call to see what the hell is going on and the girl said that I didn't even need clearance somebody in the office made a mistake.then I asked to speak to the dr. To tell him what is going on And they did not let me speak with him even after 2 seperate attempts. In conclusion i asked to be credited for the money I paid for my copays since I have to start all over again with therapy after all the time missed and the woman said no.

Dr. Wong and his team are awesome! I've been at patient at Acuphysio (for both acupuncture and physical therapy) for 5 weeks now and am seeing major improvements. I damaged the radial nerve in my left hand and am so lucky to be attending a practice that knows how to speed up the healing process. As a person who has always been afraid of needles, I was definitely apprehensive to begin acupuncture. The visits became more manageable after Dr. Wong was kind enough to address my fear and make the session more comfortable. Christine and Greg are awesome physical therapists too! I came here for therapy after an accident with 9 broken ribs, 3 fracture vertebrae and all the pain related to these injuries. Needless to say that it has been a long process but, thanks to the staff's professionalism, knowledge and sincere concern I'm on the road to a full recovery. They've made a difficult time a lot easier to bear and I owe my physical improvement to their dedication. There are so many reasons to choose this facility. I've had numerous neck and knee surgeries and have had tons of physical therapy. Dr. Wong and his acupuncture treatments saved my life after a disc was removed from my neck. He helped me regain feeling in my arms and fingers. After a knee injury from a race I came back to TLC and started to work with Greg, a physical therapist in the office who worked with me on therapy, and more currently on nutrition and personal training. Another lifesaver!!! I wouldn't go anywhere else! Thank you Greg, Dr. Wong and some of the best support staff anywhere!

I recently gave birth and started to have immense pain in my wrist, my ob said it's carpel tunnel and would go away. I wore a wrist brace for a few weeks but the pain was unbearable and hurt so much when all I wanted to do was hold my daughter. I made an appointment and Dr. Wong was great! Acupuncture, cupping and physical therapy helped with the pain and swelling! After the first session, I stopped wearing the wrist brace and immediately felt relief! I found this center through my insurance company…....And so very happy I did... my experience here has been nothing but excellent, from Kim who answers the phone usually right to the owner of the facility, Dr. Wong.… The place is clean, equipped, personnel are mostly friendly and very knowledgeable. I just had a total knee replacement and my therapy was very helpful. I certainly recommend this facility. I have been treated by Dr Wong on and off for many years for a broken back. I have herniated discs and sometimes just moving the wrong way causes me to throw out my back. I have to admit I should be keeping up with my therapy because my back is so fragile but life gets busy and when its not thrown out I neglect myself. But whenever I throw my back out he is always there for me, and gets me moving within 1-2 sessions. He is a life saver and I trust him completely with my back, I highly recommend him!

Was lied to !!!! My experience was awful I was lied to. I’ve been to PT and never was I treated the way I was. Dr wong comes in . Touches my foot offers me acupuncture after I finish my insurance visits for 40.00 says he will send paper work for authorization.done in less than 5min I asked if I would be getting treatment he says no that insurance doesn’t pay. Well I called insurance and they stated they do pay for treatment in an initial evaluation. Left there in pain with NOOOOOO service

The physical therapy helped a lot with my entire back. The staff is great, my physical therapist helped me out a lot, his knowledge and tips for exercise at home made me feel much better in a matter of 2 weeks. The acupuncture was great I had severe lower back pain and I had a discount for $30 instead of paying $100 which is still not a bad price. Doctor Wong was great, he knew what he was doing and I was pain free for the rest of the week! Thank you guys so much I will miss you!

Was treated for Vertigo by many therapists and all they did was Eply Maneuver which helped but condition would return. Then went here and it was like going from night to daylight. Dr. Wong was great and very persistent in providing different types of Therepy which cured my vertigo. The staff is very courteous & professional. They accepted Medicare & my secondary so I had no copay. In conclusion, this is the only place I would go for Vestibular therapy.

Hello. I am a graduate of st.benedicts prep in Newark Nj and a current D1 college track and field athlete. I pulled my hamstring two years ago and every since then I have been getting hamstring strains and was unable to compete in alot of races. Yet, with in the first week of my treatments I began to feel an amazing turn around from Dr. Wong. So far I have only received 3 treatments and I already am beginning to feel better.

Acuphysio Acupuncture and Physical Therapy Is my favorite. My mother went for knee pain and while accompanying her to the visits I saw firsthand the staffs professionalism and care. I've been coming here for about 8 wks now for knee pain. My knee is much improved. Dr. Wong first evaluated me & suggested 3 exercises as well as treatment from the Physical Therapists. I am pleased with all 3 Therapists. The girls at the front desk are very welcoming & efficient. I love doing the exercises looking out the big windows at the beautiful trees in Clove Lakes Park. Dr. Wong helped me on my first visit. I had displaced crystals in my inner ear and was experiencing terrible dizziness . He was able to reset the crystals and my dizziness is gone. He is now helping me with acupuncture to overcome stiffness in my neck which has also relieved my headaches. I highly recommend this facility. I had suffered from excruciating sciatica and tried PT, chiropractic treatment and even cryotherapy and nothing helped. After just 1 session of acupuncture the pain was reduced dramatically and I was able to resume my daily activities. After my 2nd session I was good as new. I am now a firm believer in acupuncture for pain relief. Don’t hesitate to try it, it isn’t painful and the results are impressive.

I Had intense lower back pain and could only walk with a cane. Luckily my neighbor referred me to see Dr. Wong. After a few sessions of physical therapy with acupuncture the pain subsided and I was able to walk without a cane. Now I am pain free and able to go about my daily activities. Pain gone and a little bit of heaven. Last Nov 2022 had terrible pain in knee; could hardly walk. Diagnosed arthritis in knee. Nothing worked—Advil, meloxicam, cortisone injection until acupuncture twice a week with 20 minutes of PT. Now go once a month for acupuncture and haven’t had any pain since then. Continued walking for 30 minutes which I love. Thank you. Can’t sing your praises and over 70.

My experience with Dr.Wong has been amazing. I have been going to him for 3 years now and he has significantly helped with my arthritis. My foot used to pain me but his procedures have had that go away. Fantastic! I've been suffering with pain in my gums. It feels like metal shocks and they come in clusters. Dr. Wong with acupuncture treatment is working. He suggested six sessions, I'm on my fourth. I am not getting them as frequent. Yesterday I was pain free with none, but I did have one in the morning. He's awesome! Very easy to talk to and comfortable to be around.

Dr. Wong is amazing. I had hiccups for 4 days and went to him on a recommendation of a friend. He was able to see me first thing Monday morning. After the first acupuncture treatment, I already felt relief and after a second treatment the next day, 99% of them disappeared. He is very intelligent and takes his time to listen. Sprained my forefoot and could barely walk or stand. Came for three treatments so far and feel a lot better and able to walk with only minor pain now. Great service at the front desk with Karim. Scheduling appointments is easy and staff are both competent and efficient. Dr. Wong and Greg are hands on and helpful. Would benefit from an update inside by replacing the rugs and increasing natural air flow by opening more windows during the day.

Dr Wong is very caring and thorough. His acupuncture methods along with Physical therapy really helped my sciatica caused by two buldging discs. After 6 weeks I'm pain free and have more mobility. I haven't taken any pain medication in weeks. Also to add are his staff is friendly and caring.

Went first time for severe sinus infection & hot immediately relief. Went back for allergies & have been off all meds & shots for years. Sleeping problems, hip & back, concussion, whiplash, sugar addiction...what hasn't he helped me with! Always my 1st go to!

Dr Wong and his team have greatly helped my back herniation. I came in using a wheelchair as I couldn't stand up without severe sciatica. I am now walking unassisted and getting better with each visit. Definitely recommend him and his team.

What are terrific place ! I am treated so well there. I feel very much at home. The Physical Therapy is excellent, Guardson does a great job and he cares. I could not have picked a better place, Lorraine G.

So far I'm happy with my therapy sessions. The staffs make me feel welcome, they are friendly and professional. I wouldn't trade them in for nowhere else. I feel comfortable and relaxe around them.

The good folks at Acuphysio are "ACES" everyone from behind the appointment desk, the physical therapists, the assistants, and of course the good doctor! THANK YOU ALL, keep up the great work!

The acupuncture to go along with PT is a huge benefit. Dr. Wong really knows what he’s doing, and Ive gotten much more personal attention here than at any other PT place. Highly recommend.
