Alamos are usually super enjoyable and relaxing places to be. Usually because of how excellent the staff is! But last night we had a real negative experience that soured me on all Alamos. My sweet and shy wife and I were made to feel so embarrassed in front of our huge group of ten friends, and the rest of the theater crowd and servers, as we were kicked out of the theater just after taking our seats, just for having our well-behaved 8 month old daughter silently sitting with us, apparently violating a policy, that was unknown to us (as a friend bought our tickets). We weren’t loud or disruptive, we don’t drink, and we are always respectful of our servers. The issue I have isn’t even with the policy necessarily, but how we were treated. Despite me explaining that our daughter was too young to leave with the babysitter and that we didn’t know about their policy, and that we had driven over an hour to have that reunion with friends (which brought ten people to their business), and despite even offering that we’d be willing to leave, with no refund, if our daughter made any noise, there were no accommodations made to keep us as customers that night. The staffer who dismissed us used fake apologetic tones while asking us to leave, all the while reiterating over and over how supposedly obvious to see that their policy was. Anyway, as my poor wife was crying we managed to get my buddy, who bought our tickets, and have them give him a refund at least. We said goodbye to our friends and left feeling unwelcome, unvalued, and dejected. We drove the hour back home as it was too late to really do anything else with a babysitter waiting for our return. We will likely never go back to any Alamo after this, and we will actively urge all our friends, whom have children or not, to do the same.

This place is super GHETTO! which attracts ghetto people and ruins the movie experience. Go to Mueller or S Lamar instead! We went to go watch the barbie movie and it was a horrible experience! 1. The chairs here are older than my great grandma, so disgusting!!! you’ll probably catch some skin disease or some bugs. 2. The manager did not kick out the young teen couples who wouldn’t stop their chit chat patty whack from the moment they arrived. Im sure the other people next to them we’re pretty pissed too. 3. We arrived 20mins prior to movies and placed our food order right away but the server forgot our food order! Everyone else who arrive after us were already enjoying their food and beverage and we’re still waiting for our food and drinks. We had to raise an order card looking for our food and nobody owned up to that mistake. 4. The hellfire burger for $17 was tiny and super salty and the chicken salad for $17 had a stinky lettuce, Maybe they rushed our food and served us garbage instead. 5. The server was bussing our plates mid movie and blocking what we’re watching! Why? Never again! I will avoid this place at all cost!

Pre-Covid I spent a lot of time at the Alamo, had the app, collected points and whatever. But, I haven't been in a couple of years until tonight. Much of the same seemingly irreverent attitude, but the prices and new chairs are a big disappointment. The auto 18% gratuity takes a very expensive $6 single glass of lemonade to $7.60. But, what if the service is terrible or non-existent? Our woman server disappeared after 15 minutes and came an hour later as a man, actually three different men. The service made me think that there's a serious problem. The reclining chairs with attached trays were not made for a slope. It's not comfortable at all leaning forward unless you recline and then forget the tray because when you recline it's too far way, and the tray is tilted too. Years ago the Alamo was cool. Everyone could enjoy some great food regardless of bank account, not so much anymore. That's probably why there were only 4 other people in the entire theater.

I love the Drafthouse, and with this being the closest location to me I am there semi regularly. The service is great and the lobby accessable bar is a treat. The seats are a little worn and cracked, but it's cozy. In all, it's the Drafthouse. What else do you need? I will say they have dropped a few notches for me with the truncated menu, while their competitors offer a wider selection, and I am wondering if the old menu is ever returning. Being able to eat in the theater has always been a big draw, but now that it is just pizza, burgers and chicken tenders, it is starting to make more sense to just eat on the way rather than pay double for a selection I could get from a drive through. Or go to one of the other theaters in town that do offer a pre-COVID selection.

This is my go-to theatre! So happy it’s opened back up. This location has the best food and service out of all of the Alamos I’ve been to in Austin. Everything is always hot and comes our quick. The servers are also super helpful and attentive here. My favorite thing about this location is the recliners in the front row. I always go for these seats, they are amazing!! Such a fun experience to sit in the recliners, I would highly recommend it. This is not something that is at all Alamos, so it makes this location special! Also they strictly enforce the no talking policy. I love how quiet and respectful the audiences are at this theatre too. The sound is always at the perfect volume and the picture always looks great. This is my favorite theatre in Austin.

  • Leslie Dawidowicz

Such a great establishment and experience for my son I while celebrating his 13th birthday (we saw GREENBOOK a great movie btw)! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. That along with the classic cozy feel of the theater made for many amazing memories. I will definitely be visiting here again when I return. *All food and drinks are freshly prepared onsite (we had pizza pepperoni and I think the goat cheese one and it was MINDBLOWING). They have a multitude of items you can choose from along with a ADULT BEVERAGE MENU!!! I can not stress this enough: get the banana split drink! The only regret you will have is the hangover! Purchase your tickets online and you get perks and bonus points.

Chairs do not recline. Entire staff is abrupt and discourteous. Everything in here is covered layers of stickiness. My food came over 1hr after I ordered, after reminding my server twice with a note, and once verbally before he bent down to tell me “Do not speak in here or I WILL ask you to leave.” There’s gratuity included in your tab so do not expect to be treated like a human here. I tried asking the self proclaimed manager to remove the food I was literally told, verbatim “I don’t care”. Because of this, I really hope Beth wasn’t their actual manager. Overall terrible service, uncomfortable seating that is not as advertised, and unpleasant atmosphere. 0/10.

We came to see Hot Fuzz as Alamo Drafthouse was holding a 15th Anniversary Movie Party. The Host was lame, but she got the people involved. I had the Royale with cheese, it was delicious and the fries were hot. I was disappointed with my Shiner Bock, did Not taste like it was supposed to. Was more bitter, like another brand Bock, than it was meant to be, do either the beer was compromised or it wasn't Shiner. I did order a second one to make sure that it wasn't just a mistake the first time, but nothing different then either. My partner enjoyed her food and was happy to see the plastic straw for the soda.

I love Alamo Drafthouse! Love showing up early to watch the reels of relevant footage they put together pertaining to the movie you're about to see. Best place for film nerds. And they will keep bringing water refills to the seat for the whole movie. Only downside is you may wanna get up to pee because you'll be so hydrated. The fresh baked vegan chocolate chip cookies were so good that after I ate all of my friends' cookies I had to get another order of them to pay her back. I ended up eating 4.5 out of our 6 total cookies.

  • Seana Epley (Nosy Nancy)

Badly, badly, in need of a remodel. The chairs are tattered, dirty, and extremely uncomfortable. Everything looks and feels sticky and old, chipped, beat up...even the menus are in bad shape. The seats do not recline, the picture quality is not up to standard to other Alamos or especially the IPic at the Domain (I'd recommend going there instead). I put in the survey and heard from the manager that they're slotted for remodel in 2024-2025...I will not be returning until after that is fully completed.

  • Viki

I love the Alamo, definitely my favorite cinema around. We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower, chicken tenders, Cobb salad, churro popcorn, and the whiskey banana shake. I cannot get over how fantastic the chicken tenders were, they were such high quality, and the buffalo cauliflower? Immaculate! It's crunchy, served with a tasty vegan ranch, and a side of fresh celery! Honestly, everything was so good. I love that you can catch a good movie and enjoy a high quality meal while you're there!

  • Brandy Smith

Obviously couldn't take pictures in the theater but the service was amazing and I've never had a cinema experience like that. Menu and table at your seat so you can order before or during the movie at anytime. We got an order of chocolate chip cookies to be delivered in the middle of the movie. You almost forget that you've ordered them so its like a nice surprise. Also all the little clips before the movie that pertain to the movie was so much better than regular advertisements.

  • michael ibison

Theater seats and tables are OK. Layout is good (not too large, and viewing from seats at the sides is quite acceptable). Sound quality is good. Regular visitors to Alamo will know that there is a 20 - 30 minute generally funny mashup of clips from early advertisements, movies, and TV shows that are somehow related to the main attraction. The food here is generally quite good, and the servers are very attentive throughout the show. The beer selection is excellent.

  • Sally Mustacchia

This is not my favorite Alamo Drafthouse location. I really think this franchise is the bees knees but this theater is just OK. I hate even saying that. The seats are OK, the screens feel small, and I don't even know if they are smaller than usual but they look like it to me. The service is top notch as always and the food and drinks are too! Overall it's an OK experience that even great service and food doesn't make up for. Glad to see it busy regardless.

  • Kim Ransleben

Loved the movie and the food was really good. Staff was amazing. Bathrooms were so clean. But the place itself could use some updates. The theater seats were worn down and many had cracks. Table was small and set in place so my pregnant daughter had to squeeze in. No way she could sit there now at 5 months along. The overall feel was of an old school movie theater…but some of that was not in the good, retro way. It was more in the letting things go way.

  • Michael Barton

The Drafthouse is known for good beer, great food, and an excellent film selections. This location hits all those markets perfectly. The venue only holds a few screens due to it being a smaller building. That makes the parking a little crowded, and the same is true for the restroom. Once you're in your theater you should expect exactly the same experience as any other Drafthouse - wonderful. It's as good am experience as you'll have anywhere else.

  • Edward Morgan

Ordered our food before the movie started. Waited an hour then finally asked where our order was. Server said it was coming. Ten minutes later only brought half of it but said it was all going to be taken care of. Then told them they forgot the other half. Manager came by and said it was due to kitchen being slammed. I suspect the server just forgot. Gave me a ten dollar off coupon. Still brought me a bill despite saying it was going to be comp’d.

  • Jennie Johnson

Overall great experience. The prices are very reasonable for tickets, food, and drinks. I've paid more for food and drinks at subpar restaurants that lack the wonderful service at the Drafthouse. The servers are attentive throughout the whole movie without being distracting. The theater is on the smaller side at this location. I've been told other locations have upgraded the amenities and seating. Will definitely be visiting the other locations.

  • Valerie G

great concept! pretty solid food, loved the pickle fries and margarita pizza, but buffalo cauliflower basket was a little soft and fries were unsalted and room temp. enjoyed the beer selection, and the server was friendly and timely. movie screen was a little small, definitely not for immersive viewing. recommend sitting up closer because of the screen size, but we had no problems moving our tickets for a mostly empty theater when we realized.

  • Kei

They make amazing good! My party and I ordered fried pickles, triple chocolate chip cookies, wine, burgers, and loaded fries. The food came out super hot and fresh, very flavored, and I got a champagne has for my mini bottle. The waiter also was mindful enough to ask if we wanted the cookies later in the movie so that they were fresh baked. I love theaters like the Alamo because they make the movie experience worth leaving your house.

  • Winter Baby

Second time here to meet up with a friend. Super janky! When I spend a decent chunk of $ on a movie and food and drinks, I would appreciate if the drinks had *any* alcohol in them. I ordered the fish and chips, soggy. Our waitress mentioned something about how cockroaches hadn’t “been seen in some time…” (please don’t tell me that when I’m in a dark theater). The chairs are big, but not great. Won’t return to this location.

  • Jose De Jesus ZARZOZA

It's a pretty spunky place being its first location, staff are super friendly. If your looking to watch a movie in all silence, this should be it. But if your lookin' to feel a pure unhinged adrenaline rush then you gotta try their coffee. GOOD GOD that coffee is strong, it can make ya heart move faster than speed of light until all you see is numbers and shadows in the corner of your eyes. The pizza's here are pretty mid.

  • Eddie

Keep in mind that I love the Drafthouse, it's the only theater I go to, but... I'll be avoiding theater 1, maybe the location as a whole, as the kitchen shares a wall with the back wall of the theater. Lots of disturbances and noises coming from this poor design choice. I visit the Drafthouse to avoid immersion breaking disturbances, and this was a constant throughout the 3 hour runtime of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

  • Jennie Perry

This is a clean and great theater. Cozy vibe. Good and nice staff. Amazing queso!!! Best we gave had in awhile. We also got the best cookies we have ever had at an event. So gooey and flawless, we will be back! We were there for a Texas State MBA event, so I can't speak of the sound or picture quality. But I've been to other Alamo locations and they were all great, so I do think doubt this one is as well.

  • Veronica San Juan

This location and the Alamo Drafthouse off of Lakeline are my favorites and a spot that has made so many memories for my family. I’m loving their All Ages viewing right now with my 3 month old. It allows me to still see new movies and get out the house with my baby. We visit so often that we’ve gotten Alamo Drafthouse Season Passes for the family. If you visit ADH often I highly recommend it.

  • Cameron Roots

I've had positive experiences at every Alamo location. Their menu is fantastic, and their service is excellent. The idea of dinner with your movie is a fantastic concept and is executed well. However, I understand that the workers are treated poorly by corporate with incredibly low pay. I will be looking for a worker friendly alternative (unionize!), but until then Alamo is my go to theater.

This review is for whoever made the avocado toast at 7PM on 12/29 and for that person alone - that was the most beautiful and delicious avocado toast I've ever had in my life. Granted - you're eating in the dark, so most people would never see the toast presentation, but I peeped that toast under the table light and I could tell that was plated with love and care and was SO GOOD. Thank you!

  • T Vitali

Love the Alamo Drafthouse company. They're extremely friendly on their policies for one. I ended up purchasing tickets for the wrong day ( complete klutz move ) and they happily issued a rain check and adjusted my tickets for the correct day without any fuss. Amazing customer service combined with reserved seating and awesome food make this theatre a top choice when going out to see movies.

  • Chance Clanton

My favorite of all the Alamo theaters simply due to it's small size. I love the cozy feeling of smaller theaters. Food was good as always and I cannot get enough of their carefully created, themed pre-show entertainment. So much better than sitting through 30 minutes of advertisements in normal theaters and is enough to ensure I always get there early just to see what they've put together.

  • A C

Staff is great, but the theater layout is older and not as comfortable as others. It’s like an old school theater, with a slant, and you’ll share a table with the person sitting next to you unless you’re the aisle seat. Last time I visited, the person sitting next to me was on his phone with the ringer on multiple times and staff did notice and immediately told him to put it away.

  • ken G

Always a good place to enjoy a meal and a flick, reminds me of TBS dinner and a movie if you remember that! But without the commentary in the commercials and your parents aren't glaring at each other over business you didn't understand as a child but now you do and reflect back on with a biased angst demeanor wondering if you're supposed to do more with your life. I miss my dog

  • Erika Luck

So glad the Village is back! It's my favorite location by far. Majority of patrons are not pretentious. (At least from my experience.) Love the staff. My server a couple times has been Mike, and he is awesome. I even had my wallet fall out of my purse one time and a manager, Bridgette, found me to message me! I didn't even realize it was missing. The Village is the best.

  • John Carpenter

I have never had a bad experience here. This location is a bit smaller and parking can sometimes be difficult. The servers are always cool and bring a great energy to their delivery. Food and drinks are good, but a little pricey. The most important thing - they keep the theater quiet during a movie. This reason alone keeps me coming back to the Drafthouse time and again.

  • Carl Wolf

Love alamo! The village is a bit older, but the movies are just as good, the food is just as good, and the beer is just as good! The season pass is a steal if you live somewhere like Austin with lots of Alamos, and you love movies. 5 stars, and would give more if I could. I'm not sure if I could ever go to an AMC or Cinemark ever again. Also the prickle fries are back!

  • Matt

Always my go-to for films: Friendly staff, good food options, consistently solid video/audio quality, and the best film programming of any movie theater I’ve ever been to. They’re good for new openings, but what puts them over the top is the variety: classic reruns, movie parties, comedy screenings, brunch screenings, and just about any fun movie experience there is.

  • Violet Sky

First came here to see the new SpiderMan movie, kept coming back since. Have seen several movies here and even subscribe to the season pass because I love the experience of coming here so much. The pizza is delicious, though unfortunately I've only enjoyed the sandwiches once. Granted it was my most recent visit, so maybe the kitchen staff has improved recently

Alamo drafthouse cinemas are usually the best! This particular location does not have the usual comfort/luxury seating which is typical of other (newer) locations. Nevertheless the service and grub is top notch. Restrooms were clean and accessible, parking seemed sufficient. A for location too, just wish they had the usual reclining seats and theatre layout!

  • Renee

The chairs need some upgrades! They were uncomfortable, and i wish they had heat. The tables were fine, i wish the server had done a last call, though. i wanted to order more things to try before close since i don't live near an Alamo drafthouse

The service was good. The bottomless popcorn is great. Overall, the place smells a little dungy and I wish I sat a little higher in the chair. The seats don't recline, so if you're looking for recliners this isn't your place. Still, it's almost an Austin institution, as it's been around for a long time. It's worth checking out at least once.

  • Christie Schultz

Alamo Drafthouse is the only way we watch movies because they have perfected the movie theatre experience. From when the staff takes your order, to the timed food deliveries, we don't feel any distractions while watching whatever film we are watching. The food is good and they have great options for any diet. Love this Austin staple.

  • Josh Border

Seats were just ok; not exactly comfortable. Jalapeño pineapple wings were not good - barely any sauce at all & served with just one tiny side of ranch. Truffle parmesan fries were good, but why is there not an option for just one serving? You have to pay $10+ for all-you-can-eat. Good beer selection, though they are all overpriced.

  • Aaron Morrison

I've always enjoyed the Alamo drafthouse, from every location I've been to in Austin. Great food, drinks and the customer service will leave you waiting to tip your "waiter" for a lack of a better word . No but frfr go to a your local Alamo and if you're around Austin, go to the cinema village location. Promise you'll love it …

  • Sleepwalker (Sleepwalker)

The tipping culture has become outrageous. I’m used to tipping 18% at a nice steak dinner but it being added to the check forcefully is ridiculous. It’s supposed to be earned by good service, not required. And then they say, we still appreciate an additional tip. So yall expect a 40% tip or something at a movie theater? No thanks!

  • Kenneth Tovar

It just wasn't for me. I love going to the movies, I go every week, I have been told to check out the draft house for a long time. Honestly the only real perk is if you wanna eat a burger or a pizza and drink a beer, and if course it's gonna be a lil pricey. But if I wanna do that I'd just do it home. But that's just me.

  • M- “Pistolera” Ay

Decent parking and friendly staff. Fun selection of beer on tap. Enjoy endless popcorn with butter and well seasoned. No phone policy is fantastic. Really loathe seeing phone screens at other theatres. Comfy seats but table top makes getting in and out akward for full figured folks. Very nice location for a date night.

  • Stevie Bear

We have loved the Alamo since the day it opened. This was the first movie out since the pandemic & other than a smaller menu with a few less choices not much has changed. Clean space, friendly staff, and enough options to please just about anyone, movie or food & beverage wise. Good times & So glad it has survived!

  • Emina Bozek

This was an older theater in Austin that used to show indie and foreign films so it isn't quite the same as other Alamo locations that have stadium seating. Nevertheless, the nostalgic element and happiness that comes from still being able to see movies at this location definitely make this Austin native happy.

  • Jamie Haynes

Buffalo cauliflower is amazing! But they ran out of it also the one menu item we've loved since inception is the fried pickles because they were spears not chips. That is no longer the case which is disappointing. Service is always great and beer selection is on point. Clean and comfortable seating. …

  • Ryan Bailey

The Alamo continues to please, even under the new management. I hope it's quirkiness never gets watered down. The food was good, as always, as was the service. My only complaint on my last visit was the unusually small portion of fish I received with my order of fish and chips. Hopefully not a trend.

  • Rachel Wright

This Alamo is great! It’s smaller than a lot of the newer ones and feels super cute and cozy. The parking lot gets pretty full but I’ve always been able to find a spot. The food menu is awesome, as always, the seats are comfortable, and their movie formatting and programming is amazing!

  • Andy Miles

Wonderful Alamo location. The outside may look a bit outdated, but the inside & the theaters are very modern. Food service is fantastic. Tickets are pricey, but you rarely see a nice, clean theater with cheap tickets these days. It's a very welcoming place to enjoy a movie at.

  • Mason Dowless

A lot of fun and great staff. The seats are comfortable and the atmosphere is fantastic. I really enjoyed the amazing food. A very unique movie-watching experience. My fiancé and I really enjoy being able to watch classic movies in theaters. Would absolutely recommend.

  • Jovanni Vazquez

The food is simple but all delicious. The employees are always super friendly. And since I started going to alamo drafhouses I stopped going to other theaters. I don't feel really care about the experience. I will say it's not a cheap dat, but the quality is great.

  • Bradley Zellman

Alamo Drafthouse is bar none the best place to see a movie in Austin. It's great to see a theater with a true passion for cinema. The themed menus are always fantastic and they have a great selection of new movies and classic films along with themed showings.

  • Karen Welsh

We really enjoy watching movies at Alamo. Large spacious seats with ample leg room and front row reclining seat. The menu is hit or miss, some items are great like the fried Pickles and some just ok, but hey it's a movie theater and not a restaurant

Alamo has the MOST fun movie parties, events and staff. They are super creative with what they find and show before the previews; there is a deep appreciation of films across all genres, and darn good food. I love my local Drafthouse. #alamomovieparty

Cool little theater. The place is nice and clean, and the staff is very friendly. If you've never been to an Alamo Drafthouse, it's a great experience. You reserve your seats and get to enjoy great craft beer, cocktails, shakes, and food.

Consistent food and capable service make this location stand out across the local Drafthouses. Pro tip: the front row in every theater is made up of reclining chairs. A nice touch for what's usually the worst seat in the house.

  • Russell Taylor

The coziest Drafthouse outside of downtown! Easy to get to and easy to navigate. My only complaint is that their seats do not yet boast the spiffy footrests that more recently built locations do! Update: THEY NOW HAVE FOOTRESTS

My favorite of the Alamos. Convenient location, tons of parking, superior beer selection (this one has Real Ale Devil's Backbone) and a lot of great special screenings. Absolutely love the place. I probably go 10 times a year.

The Alamo Drafthouse is my favorite movie theater. This location, The Village, is a classic and has amazing service and staff. I always try to arrive early for the fun movie flashbacks and Alamo created pre-views.

Always a good time at Alamo. This location is smaller and looks a little dated, but it adds to the charm! Service was great and food was amazing. I got loaded fries and an IPA. Service fee is added to your bill!!

Not as new and fancy as some of the other Drafthouses but that's part of its charm. It's got that Keep Austin Weird vibe still going strong and it's own atmosphere. Master Pancake there was super entertaining.

Love Alamo! We're season pass holders. I can't stand to see a movie anywhere else now due to the phone scrolling and various disruptions that you see at other (non-Alamo) theaters. Alamo is a treasure.

Alamo Drafthouse is my favorite theater in Austin. The experience always feels so personal and fun! I love the extras they include before a movie starts and the food is delicious. I highly recommend!

This theatre has been a staple since my childhood, I’m so grateful they didn’t shutter after the pandemic. It’s not as glamorous as the others, much more humble, but it will always be my favorite.

Great service from Tyler! REALLY need vanilla ice cream back for ala mode cookies. Other location have it but Mueller and Village are holding out. Help please and will bump to 5 stars!

Alamo Drafhouse provides the advantage of having waiters to bring you drinks and food during movies. In general their selection of beverages is great and their food quality is good.

  • Fela Salinas

Had the best time ever during the showing of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. The best part of the night was when they provide free stuff/props for special screenings.

Love the place and food. Bottomless popcorn and great mocktails. Arrive early to watch really interesting and amazing shorts, often documentary types--and usually hilarious!

  • Les S.

Lots of fun! Great movies coming up, some with appearances! Limited but great menu for an afternoon to kick back with your feet up! Waiters & waitresses first class!

I used to see movies at any old theater. Alamo cured me of that. Pick your seat, and they'll bring you a beer. Easy as that. Why would you go anywhere else?

  • James Wofford

Place smells and the food was sub par. The seats hurt my butt after the second hour (saw Oppenheimer) not going back. iPic theaters are waaaay better

The fried Pickles were Awesome the wing were meh. In general everything was pretty expensive but I still had a great time and it was nice and clean.

This place has been here forever, one of the older and smaller Alamo Drafthouses, but it has always been great. Clean, good atmosphere, nice staff.

  • Cameron Ortega

Seeing a movie here is next level. Atmosphere and grub is top notch and themed curated content tied to the film you are seeing helps set the mood

  • JAMES NICKELL

Great experience as usual. My favorite place to watch a movie. Food and cocktails have always been a hit. The Alamo theatres never disappoint.

It was my first time seeing a movie at this Alamo location. Only 4 screens but nice saw Napoleon. In a nice strip mall with plenty of parking

  • Lacie K

Plenty of parking options, super cute decor, very attentive and respectful wait staff! The food was good and the served portions were large!

Ah, Alamo Drafthouse.. if there was a list of places that embody the soul of Austin, Alamo would certainly be amongst the top contenders.

My first experience at Alamo draft house was fantastic! I’ve never been to a theater as such that has a full bar, serves dinner, snacks,

  • Christopher Gervais

They brought back the pickle spears! Also, staff were the best (like always).
