Handi-Bus Service - STAY AWAY!! I should have listened to the reviews and not used CO-OP Taxi… I booked a small trip for my 82 year old mother who is in a wheel chair for her appointment, a day in advance. When it came to pick up we had to wait 40 min from my requested time of pick up. But they finally came and was quick and efficient and felt mom was safe, strapped securely. I travelled with her. When her appointment was over after 35 min, this is when the lack of care and service disappeared completely. I made the pick up time also a day in advance but when it came to no one was showing up. We waited 40min and I called dispatch, they told me they have no current drivers in the area where I was and it might be another 45 minutes. Another 40 minutes go by and I called dispatch again and they respond with. There’s really no drivers that want to go down to my area and pick you up. I was dumbfounded. I told him that my mother was diabetic, and that she needed to go back to her, long-term facility for her medicine and for food to keep her blood sugar up. His response was that we might have to find another way for my mom to get home. They don’t have any drivers that want to come and get her and it is up to the drivers if they want to accept jobs or not. They can not force drivers to do any pick ups. If it comes to it that we might have to call the ambulance if she goes into diabetic shock. I am speechless and completely shocked at his lack of concern and willingness to provide the service that they supposedly are serving. I am panicking at this point as we virtually have no other options of travel. It is bitterly cold outside and mom can not wait out for the regular bus. Call a few other places but with the short notice they can not help us. Really panicking now my sister calls them back and tells them that we will pay more money. Yes. The drivers at COOP taxi have no care for your health. They will come and pick you up if you bribe them with more money. Someone came and we got her home after waiting for 2 and a half hours. I will NEVER be using COOP taxi ever again. For the Handi -Bus or for regular service. Service was absolutely horrendous.

We booked a wheelchair accessible cab after a hockey game well in advance. I advised them I had a government qualified service dog traveling with me and his government issued ID card was available. Because accessible taxis are rare I expected them to be up to 40 minutes late and was advised this at booking. They were 90 minutes late when I was able to reach dispatch. They first stated they were having difficulty arranging a pet friendly vehicle for the dog. After being reminded that service dogs are protected and have full public access rights and do not need pet friendly vehicles they advised it would be a minimum 60-90 minutes longer and I should find another service. It was very obvious they had picked up other fares after my scheduled booking. I asked them to please send the cab as soon as possible as the only other option was quoting up to a 4 hour wait because I hadn't prescheduled. At this point it was after midnight. The recorded calls to confirm my ride stopped. They never came. They simply left a non ambulatory wheelchair user and service dog trapped downtown after midnight in winter. It's not like transit is accessible in winter as uncleared snow is impossible to get through with a wheelchair. The entire purpose of prebooking was to avoid a wait of hours. They simply didn't show up because of the service dog

Been using co-op taxi services for years as I don't drive and have to say that ever since the pandemic I have not really met one driver out there for wherever I go that is reliable or a safe driver or knowledgeable of the city. So GPS is a thing in this day and age and most of them are refusing to use it and when you call in and you speak to their driver supervisor who is driving and answers the phone while driving and admits to you that they're driving and talking on the phone which is a major law break and says hold on. I'll have to put pull over to grab more information from you so has you waiting for that and once they're pulled over and grabbing information they just seem annoyed that you've interrupted their day to take your information and when the most important part of your complaint is that the whole service is lacking since the pandemic. With all of their drivers and all they say well unless you can give me all the specific times and dates and car numbers of every single trip which would be over the last two and a half years. Like as if they're not willing to do anything for you other than block a couple of drivers from picking you up. Unbelievable. Poor service will never be using them again. Lost a customer for life. Will be going through yellow cab in the future

Booked a cab online today from the UofA Botanic Gardens to Elks Social Hall, about a 20min ride. Was given an estimated flat fee of $49. Both the pickup and dropoff locations were clearly entered on the website. Upon arriving at our destination, the driver stopped the meter and told us it's an extra $10 because it's a "local dropoff". I then told him I have it clearly on my phone that the fare is supposed to be $49. I told him I could call customer service if it helps resolve it, so he decided to call dispatch. Dispatch then told him to charge $25 on top of the meter fare. I said that this was not written anywhere when I booked and that we were not made aware of this beforehand. We ended up paying $84 for what was supposed to be a $49 ride. Luckily for us, I got an emailed receipt for the amount of $49.30 after the ride, a copy of the transaction that the taxi driver forced upon us, and a screenshot of the quoted flat fee, so the credit card company will have no issue with approving a chargeback. Way to go, Co-op. You have succeeded at only one thing: predatory business practices. :) UPDATE: Emailed the email address in the review response, but have yet to hear back. Will file a chargeback this weekend.

Really bad experience using their taxi service. The driver was also inappropriate and not understanding of my situation. I wanted to pay in cash and I was unfortunately short in 2 dollars for the fare, I know it was my mistake but the driver made a big deal out of it. The driver proceeded to aggressively demand me to give him my phone. This is illegal and possibly considered as thievery. Furthermore, I asked a dispatcher if they could write down my information such as full name, home address and number so they can reach out to me and I can pay them even with interests but in the end all they said was "it's up to the driver." Honestly, seems like the dispatcher did not care and was lazy. I was talking to the driver for about 20 minutes going back and forth and it made the situation harder because he wasn't fluent in English. Again, he kept demanding me to give him my phone but I don't want to since it's my property! He made me late for my job. He threatened me furthermore by saying that "if you leave this car, I will go in there (my workplace) and find you." It seemed like he wanted to assault me all for 2 dollars! It's crazy that these are your drivers!

I used Co-op for a corporate event on the weekend, unfortunately, they were less than cooperative with my volunteers. The vouchers that were provided by co-op were misprinted, when we brought this to their attention, they assured me that the vouchers would still be accepted by the drivers with no issue as it was there mistake. This was not the case. There was a lot of push back from the drivers to use the voucher they provided on day 1 of my event, on day 2 the vouchers were not accepted at all. When I called co-op to rectify this, they told me that my account expired so my vouchers would not be accepted. I let them know this was an error and the account should be active for another 12 hours. The employee on the phone said there was nothing he could do about it, they wouldn't rectify the issue. His only suggestions was that I had to speak to accounts receivables that is only open Monday-Friday (also virtually impossible to get a hold of). I ended up having to use another company last minute to fulfill the obligations that co-op could not complete. I am less than pleased with their services and will not use their services in the future.

I have been avoiding to put a review after my several driver being rude experiences because I think maybe they are having a bad day. I take coop every single day in the winter and every other day to commute . First of all I pay money to get a ride you are not offering me a free ride. I prebook my ride, so you agree to come pick me up. Unless i am rude unnecessarily to you i dont see a reason for you to be rude at me and start venting, road raging, abusing drivers on the road. My 3 year old travels with me most of the time and always is scared to say anything and does not talk to me during the ride The moment I get in they don't say hello, today especially he asks me rudely why dint I put my unit number even though I put and when I try to show my phone to prove I put he asks me what am I doing. This is not one time that I have been given that attitude. I called the customer service after my ride several times they promise me a call back from supervisor which never happens and everytime I call the supervisor is gone If you are gone sharp at 4 there needs to be somebody acting for you since you are a 24x7 business.

I book with co op taxi frequently. I work at a mall and book through the app as it has a fixed rate and allows me to book with ease. Except whenever I enter notes or instructions of any kind they are ignored. There are multiple entrances at the mall I work in so I ALWAYS specify which entrance i’d like the be picked up at, and I also request a call when they arrive so I can ensure they’re at the correct spot. These notes are 90% of the time ignored, whenever I inform dispatch of this to correct this, I am always told the notes are not there. This has happened well over 20+ times and I am often given attitude and made to seem like I’m inconveniencing the driver by “not putting in the entrance”, when in fact I enter it every single time because I have so many issues. I am also rarely called by a driver as per the instructions other than the automated phone call that informs me my cab has arrived. I have had my cabs taken by another customer, had drivers cancel on me if they refuse to move entrances, etc. All of this is very frustrating and I seem to deal more with error than any good experiences can make up for.

I've been using co-op taxi for many years and I feel like the service has gone down-hill in the last few years. Many of the drivers are wonderful but many are not. They complain if the trip is too long and if it's too short. They make comments that make me feel like I have to explain why I'm taking a cab. They make comments about the area I live in (my townhouse is at the back of the complex and near power towers). They basically make me feel like a burden when in fact I'm paying them for a service and driving is their job. They complain if I don't have cash on me. Some are constantly texting or talking to family/friends while driving and I've even had a driver accuse me of booking on the app with fixed rate to swindle them out of more money. (I made that driver end the trip as I was so offended). I would tip more often if the guilt tripping and inappropriate comments weren't present every time. Perhaps I should go back to using UBER. I'm giving 3 stars because there have been many other wonderful drivers who are pleasant to chat with and very personable, but otherwise I would have rated a 1 or 2 star.

When calling to order the ride I specified to the operator it needed to be pet friendly ride for a large breed dog. It took 3 cabs to get one that would actually transport my dog. This was not driver error this was dispatch error. They never passed the message on that it was a pet friendly request. (My pup is essentially a minni horse). I don't see this as a driver issue because some people are scared of little dogs let alone very large dogs. The driver that finally accepted us was very polite and the cab itself was clean. What topped it off was dispatches total disregard for the complaint. The way I see it if you send in a driver that doesn't allow pets or isn't comfortable or is fearful of a dog you as an establishment are putting your driver in a negative position and when it comes to a dog it could even be a dangerous situation. This establishment not only needs to show thier drivers more respect but they also need to do better when it comes to communication between dispatch and driver! Accountability for the errors made would of also been nice to see.

Called in a driving complaint on Unit 381. Inital operator got my call sent over to the driver supervisor which was fine. Said hello and was told "can't hear you at all, just throwing you on hold" and then dead air. When I explain how your unit almost hit someone on 121 St and Yellowhead, then proceeded to speed (I stopped trying to match at 78km/h and was losing ground), and then rapid lane changes again almost hitting the same car from 121 st a second time before turning onto 97 St. Got told these are very serious accusation so am I sure of what I am saying which is fair. I explain I am one of our safety personnel for a large company that focuses on road safety and operations and at that point was finally told they would speak to the driver later in the afternoon and review video for what your driver was thinking. General note if someone calls you and gives you exact times, locations and speeds to issue a complaint, it's not always the best practice to ask them if they are sure of their story or making up accusations. Just my two cents.

On August 31, we took one of your cabs to the Edmonton airport, Cab #831 Trip ID 19403497A. The hygiene condition of this cab was deplorable, the cab interior was filthy. The seats were discussing , heavily stained, floor was dirty and littered with trash. The drive to the airport was very disturbing, once on the highway to the airport, the driver maintained a speed of approx. 60-70 kms per hour, every vehicle on the road was passing us. I am all for safe driving but this is ridiculous, the slow speed was almost dangerous. The only benefit of the drive the driver was pleasant. In pass we have always used Co-Op and this may change. I look forward to your response. I was going to post this review on google, but felt is was unfair to the driver and to your company. I am hoping to hear from you with your comments on our concerns. The reason it took so long for us to contact you company was we just arrived back in Edmonton. I sent an email to Co-op Taxi last week and received no response so decided to send it via google.

I would highly NEVER recommend this company. I would rather die on the side of the road than use their services. I booked this taxi company to drive my staff to the Christmas Party then back home safely. When I first reached out, the company requested a $300 deposit, however, they billed my credit card $1200!!!! A few weeks later, the party is far over, we used a total of 5 taxi rides for the evening as most of the staff had alternate rides arranged with designated drivers. The taxi chits we received from the staff do not remotely match the amount on the invoice submitted from Co op Taxi. Riddle me that...the amount for the fare was written on each chit but my invoice amounts are not even remotely close to the amount they are billing my company. Not to mention, they are not refunding my credit card for another entire month...no explanation...just because they want to hold onto the $865 excess in funds not used (plus the amount that they are trying to rip me off out of). Hate to say it, but should have used UBER!

Took cab home from work early this morning. I asked the driver to wait until I got to my door. I started walking around front of vehicle and this driver started pulling away!! HE ALMOST TOOK ME DOWN!! I demanded my tip back. He’s telling me “I thought you were walking in the back” What?? It’s the drivers responsibility to pay attention! Also, I just gave you a big tip for waiting and you’re pulling away?!? Then he’s telling me how sorry he is and it’s because he has the flu. Seriously? Now your excuse is you’re sick? Please just stay home. Hey Co-op! Don’t bother asking me to email! I had an almost as bad experience two weeks ago. Then and this morning I “reviewed my trip” explained what happened, and you never bother to follow up. Do you even read them? I gave 3 star review because there are a few wonderful late night drivers I’ve gotten to know over the years. I’ll miss them because it’s back to Uber for me!

  • eden biru

I have been using this service for years and up until tonight. I’ve never had an issue. Unfortunately I will not pay in advance because I have been scammed doing so, but both the driver and the dispatcher did not understand this and pretty much assumed that I did not have money. Threaten to call the cops on me on top of that. This is never been an issue, and I can say with absolute certainty that I will never use this service again. I have already deleted the app that is the best way to embarrass someone. This is how done I am with this company. I also have a video of this, especially of the driver accusing me of him having no money also, he made me put my bag in the trunk you know cause I’m black and apparently I have a gun or a weapon of some sort. Do you know I think for a second I am not posting this on the Internet you are going to be put on blast for this

Scheduled a ride for a later time, when it was time for the ride there was no cab so I called and it said it was searching for a driver. Called back about 5 minutes later and it said my driver was a minute away. About 5 minutes later there was still no cab so I called and it was asking me to schedule a ride as if I didn't in the first place, I booked another ride and it said it would take 30 minutes. Kept calling back every so often and it kept saying it was searching for a driver and would take an estimated 30 minutes. Eventually after about an hour I called back and it asked me to schedule a ride again. I did and after about 10 minutes I called again and it asked me to book another ride. I did and after a bit I cancelled the ride and had to call a friend to pick me up, an hour and a half after the original scheduled ride. Never using co-op again.

More than 30 years, that's how long I've used Co-op Taxi. Their number was very easy to remember and I always went to them. But now I keep having bad experiences with crooked taxi drivers. Apparently, none of them want to take Anthony they want to take you on a ride through the city so they can make as much money as they can. If you do get them going through Anthony they tend to drive around 80 km an hour while all the cars rip on by you. I, recommend Uber. The last taxi I took charged me $40 I could have used Uber and had a price of $28 for the same trip. I will never use Co-op again their company is so gone downhill well you can see look at the ratings enough said waste your time go look elsewhere use Uber there are many options this company is garbage and I will never never support it again.

I reserved a wheelchair accessible taxi in advance online, as my husband needed to get to his follow up doctor's appointment after surgery and is currently wheelchair bound. Nowhere on the online form does it say that there's a possibility of the taxi not showing up at the designated pickup time. When the pickup time had passed by ten minutes, I called, and was rudely told by a customer service rep that there was no guarantee of getting a ride and that the wait time was currently over an hour. This is completely absurd. We had to order an Uber, although being less accessible for my husband, was both cheaper than the hold Co-op placed on my credit card for the trip, faster, and with much kinder service. We will not consider using Co-op taxis ever again.

  • Tammie Barnhart

I had called the dispatch to let them know that there cab driver #196 had cut me off and slammed on there brakes to where i had to slam on mine dispatch had assured me that they don't have a cab #196 to call yellow cab i had told him i know the difference between white and yellow he had asked me to wait on hold he said he had to call someone then hung up on me of course i had called back asked to talk to the supervisor of course some one else came on the phone no supervisors were available gave him the same story of course he didn't care so i had asked were can i sign up to be a taxi driver drive all around town cutting people off slamme on my breaks and get into an accident one way to get off not working

  • Roannie Romero

Been using co-op for years but it's just gone downhill. Charging me an extra 10$ for "an suv trip" for groceries that had always fit a sedan. Extremely late arrivals for drivers. Drivers that are reckless in the road. Not to mention incredibly rude dispatchers! Just earlier today, I called if they have any vans as we have some boards to take home. The dispatcher not only told me that they are unsure, but they also dropped the call on me, not telling me IF they are dispatching or how long it would take. And then I got a call that someone is waiting on the address I was at earlier? This is ridiculous. I've had some good experiences, yes, but it has just been awful lately. I'm never using Co-op again.

I have a booth at the Edmonton Downtown Farmers' Market, and every other weekend we help a gentleman who is blind and wheelchair bound pick out fish and seafood. We always call him a cab once he's done shopping with us. He depends on Co-op Taxi to get home, and today, a cab driver refused him service because he's in a wheelchair. I tried to get him to come back, but he just waived his hand in frustration and left. It is illegal to refuse service to someone based on a person's disability. What a deplorable way to treat another human being. Thankfully another cab driver showed up and helped this gentleman with his wheelchair, but sadly, this is not the first incident of this kind with Co-op Taxi.

  • theargonianmage 420

I an a LOYAL customer to this company i use it EVERYDAY. TWICE A DAY. But I may not ever use again. The dispatcher on the phone had a severe attitude and as in trying to explain to her my concerns with the voice recognition she completely ignored me and half of the address I gave her so I said "that's the first thing I said" and she got EXTREMELY rude. I'm not going to be nice to someone who isnt nice to me. This woman now blocked my number from the service because of my reaction to her actions. I'd like a general manager or owner to contact me about this issue. I spend 400$ on these cabs every month, seems like a loss because their customer service is horrible.

  • Kelly Sullivan

I tried to use coop as I booked a trip through their app as it said 30 minute wait. After an hour I called and they said could take up to two hours. I received an automated call and pressed 1 to continue to wait for a ride. Received confirmation that they canceled my request 30 minutes later. I called and they reinstated my ride. Received a call from a driver that they would be there in two minutes. I went down to meet them and saw them drive past. I called back and they said that the driver no showed then they changed it to he waited three minutes. I waited 2.5 hrs and they can’t wait more than 3 minutes. Plus it was a lie. Will never use again!!!!!!

Used the app fare 11 told driver I thought that wasn't enough make it 15 gave 20 he dropped me off overat 111 and 82st although it clearly gave proper address on app 119 and he kept telling me this is 119my address and I had to ask several times for just 5 back . This is at 6 am in the dark . I had to walk around in the dark in unfamiliar neighborhood and jail yet another can and paid another 12 dollars with tip to get home .Also before ride ended it gives you chance to rate driver seconds before being stranded I have this driver 5;stars why are ratings coming up before trip barely begins g. 21154749 booking number. We pre-booked a taxi for 5:30am in order to get the airport for a flight. The cab driver didn’t arrive until roughly 5:50am which made us late and caused a great amount of stress! The driver explained that he didn’t start his shift until 5:30am and was immediately notified that he had to be across town for a pick-up. This was a completely dissatisfactory experience. We have relied exclusively on Co-op in the past for getting to the airport at all hours of the day and night, but this experience has soured us towards Co-op. I emailed them a polite criticism weeks ago and no response. I guess we will switch to someone else now.

  • Priscilla Landry

The driver was rude and asked me to give him money prior to getting into the cab. He also demanded my drivers license and it was very cold outside so I gave it to him. Once he brought me to my home I asked for it back and he denied me giving it to him, so I now need to report mine stolen/have to get a new one. Then he also charged my credit card twice and I tried to get that dealt with the next day but the customer service was horrible and led to nothing… honestly I don’t normally write reviews but this experience was beyond horrible. Don’t use Co-op/get yourself an Uber instead. At least then people are held accountable.

I used their battery jump start service on Ap 22, 2023. A guy came with a cable that was not working and tried jump start my car. Never worked he asked if we had another cable. Cable didnt fix properly to the nuts either. He took my 25 bucks and went after 5 min. Didn't bother at all. Made a complaint to the office, they said someone will get back till today no body has called. Please do not ever use this un reliable service. We ended up getting our cable from home and jump starting costing additional money. So dissapointed. I have a complaint number and have called many times. No respons till today.

Went to use this service last night and quickly asked to exit the vehicle. The driver made assumptions I was intoxicated and/or lacking in the capability to have common sense and could be taken advantage of. He tried to make up whatever story he could, making pointless gestures at his computer, saying he wasn’t sure the rate/cost per KM or the entirety of the ride. Anyone who takes cabs regularly knows the entire route can be pre-mapped and pre priced. Absolutely unsettling that this happens. I worry for individuals that are more vulnerable then I was. I will be avoiding this business indefinitely.

  • Gay Yucoco

This morning I had a bad experienced with your driver. I have been your regular customer for the last 4;years. I always take a coop cab everytime I go to work and any errands. I will never take this cab anymore because of this bad driver Nov 10 at around 11:40AM cab no 215 whos very rude and disrespectful and the bad dispatcher who just decided to cancelled my ride. I have never felt being like an animal that this driver told me to get out of his vehicle. I always pay and never complain even they have different rates. I will never take coop anymore and I will never recommend it to my customer s a

  • Skylar Sahaidak

Would leave ZERO stars if possible. I have never had a good experience riding with co-op and have only continued to do so out of pure convenience. If you are a wheelchair user DO NOT book with Co-op unless you want to wait for over an hour for 1/6 wheelchair vans to come pick you up. That's right. Only 6 wheelchair accessible vans. The reason for this review? Not a single wheelchair can was available tonight. I booked through the app and waited for a cab that would never come. My boyfriend and I ended up booking through Barrel Taxi and had a driver within 4 minutes who was very friendly and fast.

  • Fathia A

This man was very threatening towards me and was not complying with me. He is very dangerous and I would never recommend this company to anyone ever again. The driver name is Daud and he drives a white Nissan Sentra - Be on the lookout in the future!!! He repeatedly said "Oh, if you are going to go this short distance go call uber" even though it was a decent distance from my house. He also repeatedly said "get out of my car". I felt like he wanted to assault me and I was about to call the cops. Called the company and got another driver to take me home. Worst taxi service ever

  • Alex Wiedrick

If I could rate this absolute garbage company less than 1 star I would. This so called taxi service openly discriminates against disabled people. In the entire city of Edmonton there are only 6 wheelchair accessible cabs and 99.9 percent of the time they are NOT being used for people in wheelchairs. There was only a SINGLE wheelchair cab in the entire city running on Friday November 24, 2023. CO-OP taxi will never see a single dollar from me ever again. This company should be ashamed and held responsible for their discriminatory practices. They should be shut down immediately.

  • AJ B

They made me wait a half an hour for them to arrive. I'm very disappointed in their service. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Update: Co Op taxi is the worst taxi company have ever seen. They wanted me to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes. That is ridiculous. The dispatchers are extremely rude and uncaring. They don't care about their passengers. Their customer service is 0 rate. They claim to have the largest car fleet, yeah right. If they claim to have the largest amount of cars, then why can't they handle Christmas time. They missed out on $20 to $50 Christmas tip.

  • Sandra Romero

I was picked up by cab number 672 he wanted to drop me off on street beside my work and not at the door refused to go in to the parking lot or even to the back door. it was at 830 am so safety was not the issue, i have had this driver begore and both times it was a terrible experience. finally got him to at least drop me at the back door i still had to walk around the building in High Heels and just ice every where. I requested to never have him take my calls again. Thinking I should just switch to uber I am sure they would like the 2 rides a day business

  • Cheyenne DeCoteau

Called at 7:15 and talked to an operator to book a ride for 10:10. He confirmed my ride. As 10pm was approaching there was no sign of the cab so I called the operator at 10:15 and he said it would be there in less than one minute even after booking my ride for 10:10. It’s now 10:20 and still no cab. Had to end up cancelling my ride and booking with a more reputable company and had them show up within 3 minutes. This company is Very unreliable, don’t care about their customers, especially with it being -30outside. Do not recommend booking a cab here

  • Tammy Christianson

I have been using Co-op taxi for 20 years. They lost a customer today. I don’t understand why the same driver keeps on asking for cash when the debit machine works. A 10 mins drive took over half a hour no traffic i was charged an outrageous fee. Very shady. Top it off i get some of them screaming at that they are from Bethlehem that he is the direct descendant from God. goes on and on about his religion. When i tell him i have my own beliefs and i don’t want to talk about it. Well lets just say that it gets louder. At this point i just want out.

Picked up at emergency with a catheter in. Phone call says cab is here and I get in. Two blocks later I’m left on side of road with crackheads because it was a cab for someone else. Very unprofessional and horrible way to treat a customer. I was scared for my safety and never use co op again. I am utterly disgusted and disappointed as there were two cabs and two people. Driver saw it took me 4min to sit down and kicked me out. He deserves a punch in gut in my opinion. Three cabs the day before were ok but this cancels them all out.

  • Mike Webster

I would give zero if I could, always loved using them tip them extra $5 everytime. Month ago was short money on debit card so ran in house grabbed what ever change I could. Ran out used what was still on my debit card plus change I was short $1. Cab driver thru my change in my face and said" I know where you live I'll be back" yelling more threating stuff while I walk to my door. If co-op # 623 comes to pick you up ask for another cab. Plus as a bonus it smells of smoking, because he smokes in their. His word "its my car"

My dad is a wheelchair user and needs a wheelchair van to go to medical appointments. Even when he calls for a wheelchair taxi a day ahead for a scheduled ride, co op is guaranteed to show up a minimum of an hour late, that is even if they show up at all. When you call the automated system says 6 min until a vehicle arrives. But this is just a standardized message and means nothing. You could be waiting for hours with no information on when or if a taxi is on its way. Extremely unreliable for people with disabilities.

  • Peter Ruhl

Booked a pickup time for 110pm. They never showed up. Which was disappointing. At 11 at night I get a call from their number. It seems they decided to send someone out 9 hours later… I go out to talk to the guy in the cab. I try to talk to him and explain there’s been a mistake. He rudely tries to extract a cancellation charge and accuses me of “playing games”. This has been my first time using co-op cabs and I have been profoundly disappointed. Do not recommend. Call anyone else. Would rate 0 stars if I could.

Co-Op Taxi is the SMOOTHEST experience you can hope for when taking a cab! Their dispatch is automated, so it REMEMBERS your phone number AND location AND your preference to be picked up as soon as possible or to schedule your pick up time. How can anyone find fault with this service? My cab came in 8 minutes today! They are ALWAYS FAST arriving or ON TIME and great drivers! They'll use GPS or let you tell them the way you want to go, which I like. I have NEVER had a problem in 7 years.

  • Sandra Vidakovic

DO NOT ORDER CO OP TAXI if you want to get somewhere on time. If there was an option to give them negative 1000 stars, I would have happily select it to truly representd their service. I called them 45 minutes ahead and they came 20 minutes late. In the mean time I called them three times and each time they said the driver will be arriving in just a few moments. So not only that they are the most UNRELIABLE but they are also SHAMELESS LIARS. I will NEVER call them for sevice again!!

  • Lori G

I'm my opinion, I find co op to be a great taxi service .. For the past few years, they are the only cab company I rely on since moving to Edmonton. Drivers I've dealt with are so friendly and I love chatting with them! Very professional and I def have felt safe with every driver! I'm from a small town and this means the world to me!! Thanks for that!! Also like the automated phone call remembers my name and address as well.. Keep up the excellent work Co-op Taxi!!

  • Nathan Theriault

Worst service I've ever recieved from a taxi service! Ordered my ride 20 min in advance and after 30 minutes I called back and was told taxi was 40-50 min away. This has make be an hour late for my work function and I had to cancel. Went with uber and was picked up in 5 minutes. I will never use coop again, just terriThey could have had the courtesy to tell me the wait ahead of time and I would have called uber sooner. But they do not care about the customer!

  • Dave L

I wanted to give a shoutout to the coop cab driver that helped boost my car. I was in my car in a waiting lot waiting for my wife when my car wouldn’t start. Soon after, the coop cab driver arrived to pick up his passenger but rolled down his window and asked me if I needed a boost. I said, “yes, if it’s not too much trouble”. He grabbed his booster pack and boosted me in less than 30 seconds. Whoever you are, thank you! A little kindness goes a long way!

  • Lisa Adam

I've given co-op taxi a lot of my money. On June fourth I had the worst ride. A newdriver that did not know the city..couldn't speak good English.. didn't know where he was going. Couldn't use the GPS! I wasn't sure of the route but in the end he took the wrong way. Cab ride should have been about $35. I told him to turn the meter off at forty six. Talk to a driver supervisor last week still waiting on my $10 reimbursement. I'm done with co op taxi!

  • Lena Lacroix

Today I had an absolute wonderful driver. He was dressed in a blue suit, cheerful African man with nice medium length hair. Unfortunately I didn't catch his name..However I can't say enough how he helped my son and I carry our groceries. He was an amazing driver and sweetheart when it came down to cost for our cab trip, he didn't even accept a tip dispite my offer. Please Know if you get this driver he's got a heart of gold, treat him as such.

  • Saddedude

Cab drivers keep clean cars, they are courteous and professional. However when im having problems with the App and i call the number i cannot get through too an operator too resoove the issue. Waited for 40 mins for a cab at WEM until i was able too connect too the driver and tell him exactly where we were. No option too add notes too the pickup location in app. Just rolls off the gps and prays its correct. And when it buggers up you are SOL.

  • G od

I got a cab (cab #825) for my wife after taking her and my children out to get them groceries, she told the cab driver our situation and he gave her the lift for free (she did offer to pay but he choose to help her out to)!! A helping soul such as that mans deserves recognition in my world so this is me saying thank you very much sir may your days be ever fulfilled with enjoyment and relaxation. Big ups to that guy :).

  • Cliff Nuspl

I called co-op taxi requesting a wheelchair cab as I’m confined to a wheelchair. 3 hours later, and countless calls back to them, still no cab. After the three hours they still could not give me any time frame as to when I would get a cab. This is not anyway to run a business and made me feel I’m not important enough to get a cab ride. I would never recommend this company to anyone even if they are able bodies..

  • Keyanna Kelly

Deeply disgusted with this companies inability to come through for thier physically disabled customers. Left a gentleman, who is restricted to a wheel chair, waiting 2 hours for a cab. He was originally told at 4:30pm that a cab would arrive for him in about 45 mins... After multiple calls he was finally told at 6:30pm they could not provide a timeline. At that point he gave up and made his way home in the rain.

  • Belanna Brydges

After ordering a cab they switched cars 3 times waited 30 min on a broken ankle on a WCB account and when they finally got there the cab driver argued about the route we should take and took the longest way possible. Got of work at 4:30 and got home at 5:30pm a ride that should have took 20 min and I pre called before work so I wouldn’t have to wait. Great some days and the worst possible on others.

  • Sophia W

I used this taxi service after a negative experience with Airport Taxi Service upon my arrival to Edmonton and had no issues. I clearly asked for a fixed rate or an approximate amount when ordering the taxi, and reviewed that with drivers to be clear. Thomas was my driver to the airport on June 9th and was prompt and friendly. Based on my personal experience, I would recommend Co-op Taxi.

  • Christy Van Dyke

Booked a full day in advance for a group ride to go downtown for a show. Taxi did not show up on time, they didn’t call us, or give us a heads up. I had to call them, waited a half an hour and they still didn’t have a car for us. Had to call an Uber. Would’ve been late for our show for sure. Why book in advance if you’re not gonna send a card on time??? Never using again!!!!!

  • Michou Onate

If there 0 point I will give this , very rude and doesn’t know how to provide customer service , called 3 times they never told me that they we won’t be able to help me . They give you assurance some one will call back if u loose something . Liars !! Don’t ever call for coop taxi. Go for Uber !! Should be honest up front , not to give you hope !!!!

  • Regan K

Usually a very good experience! However today I took a quick cab home because as it was hot. I forgot my phone in the car (#661) and I was able to immediately get in contact with the driver just 5 minutes after he dropped me off. He asked me to pay his “gas money”, asking for an amount that was more than the actual fare for the original ride.

  • Alexis Magno

All the time is a bad experience. Always late and me and my sob always late on our appointments. When is this gonna be fixed? We booked 8:00 am and the taxi arrives 8:35am without giving us a heads up that the taxi is gonna be late. I found it because I called. What’s the point of booking the time if this things keeps happening anyways.

  • Bridgette Bugatti

I have been a loyal.customer to the coop for three past 5 years. Invthe beginning when I ordered a cab it would get to me in 5 mins or less. Now it's usually 20 mins before they arrive. I wont be using coop any longer due yo the long wait times. Sorry coop you really have slipped in the service you are providing.

  • ryan howanyk

driver cancelled prepaid trip and still charged my card. dispatch was highly unprofessional and informed me my funds would be held 48hrs. drivers are frequently unsafe in traffic, impolite and do not respect requests to slow down with a pregnant passenger. I'll be calling someone else going forward.

  • KM D

I was a regular user of Co-op Taxi but no more. I was charged twice for a ride from my home to Cross Cancer Centre, and I have tried for weeks to get a refund for the unnecessary charge. Multiple calls and multiple emails and nothing but confusion and complication. A waste of time and money.

  • Donna Holoiday

Requested a handicap cab 24 hrs prior to pick up for 1 pm pickup. Wheelchair access required. Booked dr appointment for 1:30. 1 pm passed, called, and was to told without apology and quite an arrogant response that there is no guarantee, could easily be an hour or two late. Shame on you.

  • no one

you are all CROOKS, how are you going to tell me that even though i have a fixed fare from booking on the app, that you are going to charge me more because “the route is wrong”. the rudest drivers, all crooks, will never ever EVER use again. you should be completely shut down.

  • Jason Gooz

For the third consecutive time out of 3 tries this company has failed to arrive for a reserved wheelchair taxi to take my grandfather to doctor's appointments. They lose track of reservations, have no accountability and no cares. Will absolutely never use this company again

  • Ahmed Shakir

This driver was parking in two parking spots and when I talked to him he said it's not your business and he has insulted me twice. The management office should recruit polite people who show repect . You getting down and people are experiencing of coop drivers behaviuors.

  • Skyler Morgan

They charge me a disabled person for getting sick out side the care shameful and you want to change disabled ppl $10 so they can bring there disabled equipment like a walker that's ablism fools don't worry I fix ur ablism u messed with the wrong disabled person

  • Cory Monson

Got a cab from river Cree hotel/casino to 1320 webbers green, Canadian brew house and he went down through Anthony Henday and up 100 avenue. Then he put in a 20%tip and by passed the debit machine so I wouldn’t see it. (But I did. He got no tip) 100% crooks!!

  • Ranchelle Van Bryce

We booked a cab for 4 am yesterday, had a rude dispatcher. We needed a Van- they sent a car. They didn’t send the Van, we had to call again. The dispatcher was more concerned about telling me about the flat rate then trying to get me a cab immediately.

  • DJ Dev

Who gave license to cab 237....no turn signals...over speeding and confuses the traffic without showing any turn signals...cant even take proper left turn when there was no car and still stopped in between...worse driver and company...never use them

  • Pebble Pebble

He drove on the wrong side of the road to oncoming traffic, stayed on his phone a lot of the time, put my address in wrong multiple times, talked on his phone without pausing the cab. I'm still in it right now... :( Keely-IVR is his name...

  • Janet Song

Tried taking a cab from Rogers arena to the south side. Driver asked if I was drunk and how I would be paying. I proceeded to tell him ‘No I’m not drunk…’ and that I would be paying by debit/credit. He then gives me debit machine to pay for

I called this morning to book a cab at my work at a Hospital (after my shift, on my personal cell phone). I told the dispatcher which building I wanted to meet the cab outside of. The dispatcher asked if I was staff, I said I am. She asked

  • Raelynn Brassard

Usually use Uber but decided to use Co-op as they were parked outside and it was convenient. The driver kept trying to barter with me. Kept trying to offer me prices 3-4X the price of an Uber and not start the meter, just make a deal with

  • Me

Accidentally left my wallet in one of their cabs on Feb 10. With the route info, time, and driver description I gave, it should have been pretty easy to locate the car and driver; yet it still somehow took them nearly a week to “find” it.

  • Liudmyla S

Service is terrible. Edmonton is a cold city. The car goes to the next address, so I can see it. I can not contact taxi driver, only the service, where they also can not contact the driver. The good part that cab came fairly quick. Only

  • JB Reviewed

Bald guy driving this car, speeding in the Petro parking lot, turned out of the shopping area without even looking for oncoming traffic just turned without looking. And I had to hit the brakes immediately or I would have hit him head on

  • Roy T

I paid online with the Coop app and my credit card was charged then 3 women got in and the cab sped off, even though we frantically tried to wave him down. I automatically called the dispatch and they called the driver who said the

  • Laura Kay

So disappointed. After being a loyal customer for YEARS to be treated as we were is absurd and no apology offered when called to complain. I do not recommend this company ! Would have given a negative " star " if I could have.

  • Madison

Cab 620 needs to be shown how to use a traffic circle, they just about took me out. You do not change lanes inside the circle and you do not make it so someone else has to slam on their brakes, this is a fairly basic concept

  • Kyle Barlow

Cab was on time. Itvirgrewal was friendly and drove safe and the cab was clean. Got to where I needed to be when I needed to be there. Booking was easy and they confirmed the address for accuracy. Will call them again

  • Audrey Dominguez

Driver of 241 almost caused an accident in front of Macewan this morning by brake checking another car, multiple cars were going around him because the driver was going very slow(30-40) in a 50 zone. Horrible driver.

  • Kyle Galas

Had a driver named AmAn drive us. He was absolutely a pleasure to drive with. He was caring, respectful and his driving was safe and he followed all traffic laws. Absolutely recommend AmAn to anyone who needs a taxi

  • Alberto Lenz

I needed a taxi ride to the airport. Booked it the day before. Cab never arrived. I called several times and always got the message that the driver was going to arrive in less that one minute. That never happened.

  • Brandon Harris

Absolutely terrible company. Whoever had my phone number LONG ago got it blacklisted with this company, but they don't care. No understanding at all and completely rude staff. Would highly reccommend against.

  • Jason Raemer

Save your money and ride with Uber. Done the comparison many times and co op is typically close to double what Uber charges. Did identical trips today and Uber changed $21 and co op charged $39. Brutal.

  • Mrs. R Byrne

Don't do it. You'll regret it! I've tried co-op taxi several times. I've given benefit of the doubt that things happen and sometimes taxi's are busy. I really try to be open minded and

  • M H

Badar was such an amazing driver, was friendly and courteous. His car was clean and smelled so good! Highly recommend him and Co-op! Great customer service is hard to find these days!

Complete rip off company. I tool a cab home last from the blink 182 concert at rogers place to the west side (by the mall) and by the end of the trip the meter was at 80 dollars.

  • Amy Frise

Very slow drivers, trying to make more money… Driving 40km in a 60 zone. Stared me down after he dropped me off because I spoke up for myself. Should have taken an Uber!!

  • Cpt_Furlaw

Booked for 5pm a day in advanced. Its now 7pm. And they expect me to not be upset. Bite me. Don't lie to me for an hour. Quit being a sterotype it doesnt help anyone.

  • Shannon Comeau

Love that when you need help / they hang up on you and tell you to call back on Monday. Everyone loves being homeless for 48 hours. Wonder why people use Uber?

  • Dax Stringer (Daxxie)
