Great driver, unfortunately that's the only thing about this company that gave any point (singular star). I had left, dropped an item in the cab. I double checked my seat and even the floor to make sure nothing had been left behind. And went into my hotel as per normal. I was heading out to dinner and realized I had misplaced this item. Value isn't the concern. It's the response (lack of) with the multiple times I had called for an update. This leads me to the 3 phone calls I had made. First time was at the time I had realized I was missing something. I checked the front desk and incase I had left it there as I had to get my access card reset. The operator had said that they would call me back as the driver was with a customer. It was a polite conversation in which I also offered to pay for the fare of course to bring it back. No response. I called again the next day to ask for a follow up, they sent me to lost and found and left my information once again. Called again today and no answer and directly to an automated msg system with no reply yet, today being the 3rd day. It's not the misplaced item, it's more the fact that the lack of communication was disappointing. I'll now use at other service, better yet an uber my next visit to Edmonton.

Horrible service. My boyfriend and I were unable to get a Tappcar on Friday after the hockey game so we thought we'd try Barrel Taxi because there were advertisements for it on the table at the restaurant. The driver showed up, asked us the address and ended up going the wrong way. When we realized he was going in the wrong direction we told him; he pulled off the road and said, 'I thought you said a different addresa.' He proceeded to start a second fare and turn around in the correct direction. Once we got near our house he started going in the wrong direction again and he had to turn around again. At the end of the night we're left with a bill over $50. I called as soon as we got home and spoke to someone who told me the bill should have only been around $35. She promised someone would call me back Tuesday. Well, it's Thursday and I've left two separate messages with the customer relations person and still have no resolution to this. We will never take Barrel Taxi again.

The taxi driver who took me home today was texting while he was driving. Also when we stopped at the intersection near WEM, he didn't start his car when the traffic signal changed because he was still texting so people who were behind the taxi started honking their horns. I had to tell him he needs to drive. I was really freaking scared. What an unprofessional driver he is! Well, I couldn't find where I can post again so I'll edit here. Because you asked me to tell about more details. I called you guys yesterday at 10:19 am on the 13th of April to go to a pet smart in west end. He drove me there and waited for me to take me home again which I really appreciate that. Anyways, he said he is from Lebanon. I just want you to talk to him about the driving laws to remind him for his and customer's life. Oh, my name is registered in your data as Seonja lim and I live in an apartment near WEM.

I called a cab to the Callingwood Safeway to pick me up after grocery shopping. I had 2 carts because I had a number of large items. The first driver of a car pulled up and refused us because he said it was too much. I told him we could put stuff in the back seat too. He still refused. Then he said he would charge us $10 more. Firstly, they cannot refuse a pick up unless it is a safety issue, which we clearly were not. He did not contact dispatch which was what he should have done. Secondly, it is against our bylaws to charge more than the set rates. I found all this out when I checked out the Edmonton bylaw on this. I will never use Barrel Taxi again. I suggest that anyone else should not use them either.

Literally if I could give this company 0 stars I definitely would. First of all your website is a JOKE! Your drivers are the worst. How can I tell someone to pick me up at a certain time and then they come waaay before the time that I scheduled for and then take someone else when I was the one who booked the cab with my name???!!!and then and your terrible customer service clerk was soooo rude.Then your drivers drive extremely fast on icy roads! Doing 80 on a 50! I have been having issues many times with your services. I normally work late nights to early mornings so I take your cabs but I will never use your services again. I will definitely start using Uber! Now I know why no one likes taking your cabs!

These companies are old and outdated and doing nothing on the management side to help themselves.... I telephoned in to order a taxi and was quoted a 10-15 minute wait time. After approximately 18 minutes I received a text message notifying me that the cab was on the way and was 15 minutes away... a thirty minutes wait on a cab outside of rush hour. When I telephoned in to notify them that my wait time was double what was quoted the lady on the phone informed me it was rush hour (10:01 am is not rush hour) and did not address the fact it took 15 minutes to place my order. Adapt or die, and this company doesn’t deserve to stay in business at the moment. Uber instead!!!

Was connected to Barrel Taxi through calling #TAXI tonight, trying to get a cab from the Union Hall area. The operater was very rude, and told me they were "dispatching cabs there, and I just needed to flag one down" before immediately hanging up. Didn't see a single barrel cab in the area, and ended up calling CO-OP instead. (CO-OP were happy to send a cab my way, and it was no problem). Very disappointed in how I was dealt with. Very poor service all around. (Edit: re: the owner's comment I don't mind if it takes time. Your dispatcher's customer service was awful, and I don't appreciate being hung up on, thanks. That's what I would like fixed.)

Absolutely brutal. The driver that picked us up from our hotel to take us to Olive Garden was good. His front seat was full of stuff which he put in the trunk. Our fare was $8.00. Coming back, Olive Garden called us a cab for 4 people. Driver shows up, his front seat and floor were covered in grocery bags which he refused to put in the trunk. We couldn’t all fit in the back seat so he drove away. Olive Garden calls us another cab which took 20 minutes to come and charged us $20.00 for the fair back. We will never use this company Barrel/Yellow cabs again which is their loss as we are in Edmonton regularly for business and personal reason.

I had ordered 3 taxis today for airport run for my business clients to Nunavut from holiday inn.The hotel had contract with yellow cab they had just 2 vans in service and both of them Were rude .Then they gave trip to barrel taxi The opertor named not sure but Jeff came he helped me a lot as the traveller was moving for a year to Nunavut and He had a lot of stuff .The run was at about 5:30 am today .He helped us with adjusting luggage and moved seats .I think Yellow cab should give special customer service classes to there operators before giving them vehicle to operate in the city .Good work Barrel taxi and Mr Jeff keep good work up.

I ordered a barrel taxi on Dec 16. I live in a strata cono. I received message they were here. I went out to parking lot..not there. I went to front street no barrel taxi there. I notice a yellow cab on street and thought. Not a barrel taxi and went back to look in parking lot. No barrel taxi there. Went back on street to ask the yellow cab if they work through barrel cab and he left. Very cold outside. Yellow cab is terrible trying to get from our condo complex. Over a year ago I froze looking for cab and it was in another parking lot. I did call right back and received voicemail no taxis avaiable.

Tried to make us pre pay $80 for a $35 cab ride. We refused and he kicked us out. Absolutely ridiculous. Got a yellow taxi cab and it literally cost us $35. *Update* It has been over two weeks since my complaint and nobody has taken the time to reply or even look into my concern. I emailed the email address commented below the day of my review. Clearly barrel taxi DOES NOT care about their customer concerns, or the fact that their drivers are scamming people. You definitely will never have not only my business again, but not my friends or families either.

So which ever on of your drivers was driving the green and white Chevy impala #24 at 2:46 today made an unsafe merge on to 99 street and cut me off, then proceeded to brake check me, I would like to point out I did not get close to him. He then tried to weave in an out of traffic to lose me, cutting off several other vehicles. When I pulled up beside him, he asked me "what my problem was" cause while sitting at the light I was shaking my head at him. Worst part is, your driver "didn't even know", haha!! Great company, if you want to arrive in two pieces.

Driver made a delivery to a business leasing a shop in our yard. Security protocol and Stop signs up at the gated entrance and exit. Driver decided to tailgate a truck out and the gate closed on his taxi. My driver told the cab driver to report the accident and called me. I went to the gate and the driver (Unit 41) left. I called the manager, left a VM and sent an email with no response. Appears Safety is not priority with Barrel( they own Yellow Cab, Checker, Capital and 24/7 as well)

We want to thank so much Mostofa (Car 1088) from Barrel Taxi. One of our clients, first day in Canada, only 19 years old, lost his wallet with money on it for his first day in the country and Mostofa was so kind to return to his Hotel next day to bring it back to him. He was so happy. We can not thank you enough Mostofa for your kindness and help! Barrel Taxi was the first real example for him to experience that for real, Canadians are nice. Just came within 6 inches of getting hit when a Barrel Taxi Driver (B-46686) failed to yield to pedestrians in a marked cross walk one block from Rogers Place, 20 minutes before an Oilers game. Had to chase down the car to get the license plate. Nice to see Barrel Taxi Edmonton not care about safety! Will definitely use uber the next time I need to go anywhere. Can't wait for these reckless, dangerous cabbies to go out of business. Looking forward to using Uber FOREVER!

The driver arrived on time and the car was clean. He pulled out in front of someone and when they laid of the horn he spoke out the window that they needed to slow down anyways. When you call to arrange a taxi you are unable to speak to anyone so cannot cancel, or amend your previous call. You also cannot find out if the taxi you requested hrs before was enroute. They don't take your name, so even if you did request a taxi it could be snagged by someone else anyways.

Worst experience of life. Booked a cab and waited over 45minutes for a cab that still isn't here. Called and asked where my cab is and they said all they could give me was an estimated time of arrival as there were no cabs in my area at all, gave me nothing but attitude on the phone because I called to ask where my cab was. Never calling again. Im now beyond late for an appointment that I wont be able to rebook for another month. Thanks for nothing.

The first driver did not stop at my house for pick up. I called a second time and that driver was exceptional. Got me to my location the best route, pleasant conversation. At the end of the night was there to pick me up and take me home. I would recommend that company and that driver. I have called Barrel Taxi ror all my needed rides. The company has been around for over 40 years. Thanks again for your service

Lost my cellphone in one of their cabs... called the company within an hour of being dropped off when I realized it was gone and the man who drove us found it jammed between his backseats and returned it to us! Mad props go to cab number T7358 driving the dodge caravan. Thank you so much man! Expect a reward within the week! 10/5 cab service, super solid and honest people.

This company is absolute trash! I had two ignorant drivers and when I spoke up about their behaviour the second time, the company blocked my phone number from accessing their services which is 101% alright with me. If you are looking for a cab in the Edmonton area then I would phone co-op taxi and pass Barrel Taxi by. I will never do business with Barrel Taxi again!!

I saw a Barrel Taxi (vehicle number 151) coming through a construction zone, speed limit 40, going 74kph as caught by a radar display (which was correctly calibrated and so quite accurate). That exceeds even the normal speed limit of that road if it Wasn't a construction zone. I would never hire a taxi from a service whose drivers have no regard for road safety.

Barrel taxi unit 150 needs to learn how to use GPS, I missed my appointment that was set a year ago, He was reading off a paper map and the meter was already running! when we got to the location,we kept on going in circles because he do not know where to go! this guy needs to adapt or even retire! he made me wait while reading the map and charged me for it.

The driver was nice, very helpful. I had prebooked a cab for $60, but dispatch cancelled it while I was at the airport and told me I had to just go outside. The cab cost me $69 instead. It's the principle. Why would it be $14 more to take me home than it was to take me to the airport ($55) in the first place? Doesn't make sense to me and I'm not impressed.

At 8:05am barrel taxi 78 almost blew over myself (on a bicycle) and a pedestrian not looking where he was going. This took place on 102ave between 118st and 121 St. Before the devil's advocates launch litigation, I was riding a bright yellow bike with front and back blinking LEDs. The driver had a stop sign and I had right of way. Taxi had no fare.

I expect terrible service in 2017 but this is beyond terrible. Forgot a phone in a cab and it was a 3 day hassle of the same circle battle of repeated conversations with different rude people with no luck. Why such a battle to get an answer. It is clearly obvious as to why Uber is killing the cab industry with superior service and customer support.

Barrell taxi is not good at all...the customer service sucks! We caught a cab at the wal-mart..and we put our groceries in, The guy says ' Put the grocerys in neatly!' with attitude... I said ' It doesn't matter i'm just going to take them out soon anyway' nicely... He gets mad and i say he is a racist and he actually said 'Yeah! I am!!!" wow...

While usually my drivers don't bother me much, the service is almost offensive when i try and explain my home address doesn't often show up on GPS so i use my neighbours and wait outside. Today as I quickly explained and offered the next unit number the woman on the phone was just absolutely rude and ignorant to the (simple) problem

Had an awesome experience to the airport. I had to install my son's carseat and the driver was so patient. the driver asked if it was ok for him to stop and use the washroom and offered to buy us snacks. He also offered to stop to get us breakfast. I will definitely use this company again. Thank you for the amazing service cab 1106

I ordered a cab online an HOUR AND A HALF before I needed it. When I called an hours and a half later wondering where my cab was, I was put on the line with an extremely rude boy who’s name I didn’t even get the time to get because HE HUNG UP ON ME. extremely poor customer service. Will never be using them again. Will go to UBER.

I called a taxi for a patron at the restaurant I work, and they harassed me for 2 hours after I explained that he left the premises and was instructed to look for their taxis. The driver was extremely rude and called me 7 times while I was trying to work. Most likely will not call them next time I have a patron who needs a ride.

In a panic I called to have my daughter picked up who was in a compromised situation. Without hesitation they picked her up immediately and brought her to me in another town. I want to thank the dispatcher and the driver, I am forever greatful that there are people and businesses like this that have morals, value and class!

Sept 26, 2019 Needed a ride to go to the DR.s today. Driver arrived withing 10 minutes, to pick up (earlier than expected) Friendly and safe driver. My appointment lasted an hour. He also gave me a returning ride home, was there within a few minutes. Car smelled nice and was super clean. Would recommend!

I am from out of town and not knowing any better the driver took me for a much longer cab ride then should have been. After I told my guest who is from Edmonton what the fare was I was pissed to find out what should have been a $25 ride ended up to be $50. Never again will I use this company.

I would think a "professional driver" wouldn't be merging onto the Henday at barely 80, I always thought that was for new drivers. Mind you the driver of 013 had a hard time just doing the speed limit once on the Henday so maybe they need some more practice before driving on the highways?

Friendly phone call when ordering my cab, the cab came super fast, the cab driver was friendly and polite, and he knew how to get to my destination quickly and efficiently. I’ve used more than 4 other cab services during my stay and Barrel taxi is by far the best cab service in Alberta!

The taxi driver RAN OVER MY FOOT!!!! no joke. I was being picked up and the other 2 passengers got into the cab. My door was still open and he started to drive and ran over my right foot. I've emailed the cab company. They have yet to respond. It happend May 1, 2018.

12:22 a.m. and I and I am on the corner of a street to call a cab. I chose barrel because I've used barrel over the years. They will not pick me up without a proper address. Nice to know that if you are stranded they will not come and get you!! Would not recommend

This morning down St: Albert trail cab 177 was tailgating me, weaving around traffic at a high rate of speed and just plain reckless. I should lobby to get your business license revoked if that's the low quality drivers you put on the road.

Great service. I left my eyeglasses in the taxi. The driver phoned and offered to drop them in my mailbox. He drove us to the airport at 10am from 111 Country Club Place on August 13th. Don’t know his name but we are very grateful

Cab took long way. Overcharged. Repeatedly got direction/address wrong. Used 0 GPS to increase fare. Didn't know basic landmarks. If looking to book cab when visiting the city... I would HIGHLY recommend any other company.
