I was washing dishes; letting the hot water run over a few plates when I heard the familiar slicing, buzzing sound of metal on metal or metal cutting through wood. At first, I paid it no mind as there has been a great deal construction work happening where I live. But, when I heard the familiar sound again and even louder I realized who ever was using the saw was below in the apartment underneath mine. Knowing I may not have another opportunity to get my wooden zebra figurine fixed once and for all, I turned off the tap, grabbed my little zebra and raced downstairs to in hopes of finding a tradesman who was in a good enough mood to help. I didn’t need to worry about the tradesman’s attitude, because, Ryan, was very kind. He agreed to fix my little toy after, he had figured out where all the leaking water was coming from. That was the reason why he was downstairs in my neighbours apartment in the first place. So finding no clear reasons for all the water draining, Ryan politely asked to come up to my apartment to figure out this water mystery. Ryan was thorough and left no stone unturned, he checked,the water heater, the sink, the bathtub, washer and anywhere water might be. He ran up and downstairs like the wind as he troubleshot the situation. A devoted family man. He worried out loud he feared missing seeing his wife and son as it was getting late. But, that did not stop him or slow his focus in getting the job done. Ryan, figured out where the leak was coming from. It was a loose valve on my old toilet. Now Ryan could have left it like that, tightening the valve saying, “ Well that’s good enough.” But he did not want me to go through the without a proper working toilet, so he went through great pains to advocate on my behalf to the property coordinator, and then went to pick up a new toilet himself. I was so blown away at how professional Ryan was yet very approachable, kind with a generous spirit. He’s also super fast and efficient. If you don’t look hard enough, you’ll miss him he is so quick. He takes great pride in his work and seems like a natural teacher. He let me watch him take the old toilet off and put on a new one. And he fixed the bathroom door so it could open without hitting the toilet bowl. So I learned something as well. Once, the job was completed, no water was leaking into the apartment below, and I had a sparking beautiful new toilet; Ryan disappeared downstairs or to re-emerge a few minutes later with my fixed little zebra who no longer had a wooden dole stuck in his belly. I put my little zebra on my piano where he is carefully watching me not practice, and judging me accordingly. Lol. Ryan, thank you so much for doing fantastic job. You are so skillful in your work and I believe the luxuries we enjoy are because of great men like you, who work very hard and are there for their families. I would also like to thank Alex McCoy Plumbing and Heating as they employ, competent skilled tradesmen like Ryan. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a job done well the first time and in a timely manner. Cheers, Simone

The level of service experienced with McCoy was horrible. I rent a new build and they put in the furnace and A/C. Since it was installed there has been little to no cold air to the bedroom. They have come in twice and tried to blame it on everything but a mistake they have clearly made. In the end they claimed that it's fine and that I just need to keep my door open. Hardly a solution but I got so desperate the day it hit 34 in my room I figured I would give it a shot. All that succeeded in doing was warming up the rest of the upstairs so I ended up having to sleep in my basement. All they do is pass the blame and claim their results show it's up to code. The sad reality is that I watched them perform the tests and they showed that airflow to the master bedroom is a third of that in either of the spare rooms. Never would I suggest anyone deal with them.

An excellent experience. From the very beginning Don worked with me to find the best heating/cooling solutions for our old and challenging house. We ran into issues with the needed hydro service upgrade (HydroOne), which caused delays in parts of the install. Through these delays at our end, Don and the staff were patient, helpful, and pleasant, which we very much appreciated. Andrew and the crew did an outstanding job designing and installing the new ductwork, and installing the heat pump, and the furnace. Andrew's work was above and beyond expectations. As a result, the air circulation, air quality, and comfort in our home have noticably improved. Thank you Don, Andrew, the crew, and the staff at Alex McCoy!

I would not recommend this company. I had booked a quote and they ran late, which is fine if they were to call and notify you, but they did not. When they did arrive all people needed for the quote were not present. When I called office to ask why quote would be booked without all parties I was interrupted and then rudely spoken to and then hung up, which is what prompted me to write this review in the first place. As I was trying to say in my phone call, please make sure all parties are able to make appointment times when they are booked. Everyone’s time is valuable, not just your own.

Two employees from the company arrived around 2:30 on a Friday to repair ceiling damage and fix a plumbing leak. They tore our ceiling open, covering our counters and floor with asbestos, as well as leaving an incredible amount of dirt and mud all over our floors. Before cleaning up even a single bit of the mess, they left for the weekend. Now we have a kitchen covered in asbestos, dirt covered hallways, a destroyed ceiling, and nothing to show for it. We can’t cook or do anything in our kitchen, and I would be surprised if they were here on Monday to fix their mess.

I hired Alex McCoy to unblock a drainage pipe in my house. I am happy for the job they did in the end but when it came for the bill, I was charged for rental of their equipment (the snake). I do not agree with this as why do I need to rent equipment from them. I am paying for their services because they have the equipment. Was definitely a big surprise on the bill and I am definitely not happy about it. I also was mailed my invoice and not told of the extra charge when the plumbers came which I think they should do.

After some initial issues, Don popped over to see the job and wanted to correct some of my issues and concerns. Andrew and Trent came and were very professional. The work looks great, they communicated everything throughout the process and ultimately turned the whole thing around for me. Very happy with the service. Thank you to the three of you for your time, understanding, and pride in your work. The trades can use more like yourselves. You went above and beyond my expectations and it is truly appreciated!

Very unprofessional, the two plumbers were continuously swearing, complaining about other jobs they’ve previously done, talked poorly about the job they were completing, said how they were going to leave everything in the hallway for us to clean up. Also talked poorly about the landlord while being in the house, yet the landlord had nothing to do with the job as Kingston utilities called them for this job to install a new water heater. I would NEVER recommend this company.

Consistently exceed our expectations every time. Professional, on-time and the quality is top-notch. We have now used them at least 3-4 times since moving here a couple of years ago and would not go anywhere else. Reasonably priced for top quality - be careful if you are shopping for the cheapest and don’t be surprised at what you get. You will never be disappointed with McCoy Plumbing

Amazing guys, Tyler and Don were the best, I got a brand new furnace, chimney vent replaced and gas pipe winterized. They were amazing made sure everything is perfect and installation of the furnace was amazing. Don guided me for my furnace choice very diligently. Not only the service guys are awesome, their office staff are also very nice and friendly I would highly recommend them.

My employers hired this company to repair some pipes in our warehouse. Three of their workers were working in our breakroom and were not in possession of face masks. After they were finished, they parked the scissor lift directly blocking our refrigerator and microwave and coffee machine. I would not suggest anyone hire such an unprofessional crew.

Two plumbers, Ryan and Trent, came to our condo because water had leaked from our bathroom right down to the lobby. We thought they would be here Monday and they showed up within a few hours.They found the problem right away and were extremely friendly and very careful as they worked. We were thoroughly impressed!

We used AMPH twice, once for a problem leak and once for a planned upgrade. Both times the Office staff were great to get the appointment booked and the guys on site were prompt, professional and completed the work to our total satisfaction. Definitely recommend Alex McCoy if you need any plumbing work done.

They were extremely efficient. I find tradespeople sometimes draw out jobs which ends up costing a lot. These guys replaced my water heater in 45 minutes. Polite, professional, on time, and did a great job. They were the only company that could provide next day service of 6 we called. Highly recommend

Our septic system backed up into our basement and we struggled to find anyone to come help us same day. The woman that answered the phone was so helpful and kind and managed to get someone to our home within the hour. The Tech's were friendly and fast. Highly recommend!

i paid more for a gas hook up than what the actual gas stove cost me. 9 hours to run a gas line? We also had them hook up our dishwasher which then didn't work and we had to redo it ourselves. Will never use them again.

I had a cold climate heat pump installed. The job went smoothly and the staff, Don, Andrew, Trent, Ryan and Kinsey were professional and knowledgeable. I am very pleased with the whole interaction.
