Very appealing! There are many streams, ponds and a long coastal line. Too bad the water level of some streams and ponds are low because it hasn’t rained for days. Very relaxing but the sunshine is strong and there are many flies and insects. The winds are cool and balances the sun burning today. Some insects get to my eyes, ears, arms and noses. So, apply insect repellent, sunscreen, wear sunglasses and a cap. There are many birds. Some are big and some birds families live here. The fish swim in the sea. Few of them go into the shallow water. You can go fishing, jogging, cycling and hiking here. Not very good for sunbathing or picnicking lunch because of the flies.

Nice park close to Altona township but remote enough to feel you’re away from everything. Plenty of wide open spaces and much of the area is used by cyclists, walkers, joggers and dog owners as it’s good for off leash. Shared paths so watch out for each other. Note that in warmer weather there are sometimes snakes around but rare to come across one. The flora and fauna is good. Lots of birds here so if you’re a twitcher you’ll enjoy this place. City views. Relatively flat, ideal for wheelchair access. Kid friendly with a playground nearby. Toilets also near the yacht club.

Alton's beach is my 3rd time I've been there. I took my mother, I've got 2 top beaches I love to go to and Alton's is the one of them everything is so close together the beach is very clean mum and I had fish and chips at the Alton's fish bitesshop on the corner of bent street. I am so very impressed of how's it looks like it has not been touch in years. For me that is a good thing the old baptised church is stunning in my books it to me is a must to go to Alton's beach

Great open areas, suited to experienced drone pilots. Nice beaches for dog walking, clean cycle path and nicely maintained walking trails. This park has an abundance of wildlife, especially birds. A great family place, nice views. Whilst the park is very open, it would likely get windy in poor weather, and there is little protection from the wind here.

A great place to go for a walk with a wide variety of things to look at, waterways, grass lands, ruins of the old race track and the backdrop of the city in the distance to the oil refinery up close. The walking/cycling trail runs continuously from the city through point Cook and beyond.

Enjoyed a sunny evening at the Altona beach. Kid friendly as there plenty of shallow water for the kids to play. Paddle boarding is nice to do. Separate dog beach towards Williams town. You can also cycle along the beach side and even go all the way to cherry lake.

Nice quiet place for a walk, please stay on pathways native vegetation has been replanted in area. Plus there's poisonous snakes you don't want to accidentally stand on.

Everyone with a dog needs to come and let it run along here. love this place. Just be careful though as some owners really don't know how to read their dogs behaviour and control their dogs(or they don't care). This can be a problem if they

So much bird life and such an interesting area. The old boatsheds along the edge are amazing. Obviously the developers have not got their grubby hands on these sites yet as they are homely, quirky and a bit run down. Photographers paradise.

I love this spot, especially when the tide is out. The high sand banks that form islands at mid tide and the rusted boat wreck partially burried in the sand are picturesque and fun for kiddos to explore.

Beautiful spot! Was our puppy's first outing to the beach. Beautiful beach with calm waters so not too intense for the doggos. Also such friendly and like minded people walking their pups too!

Love taking my dog here. Lots of other friendly dogs for her to socialise. Plenty of off lead room to run, walk & play, grassed & beach. Safe paths for walking, fantastic views of Melbourne

Amazing recreational site located in Altona. It is home to a huge variety of native plants and wildlife. Massive number of native birds can be seen flying around and feeding on the land.

Beautiful costal park. Very open so can get hot in the middle of the day. You often see people down there flying remote control planes and drones which is pretty cool too!

  • Skippy the Bush Kangaroo

A great bike ride on a nice day and we met a friend. Good old P11 the friendly black swan :) The views are beautiful and its a great ride from Altona to Williamstown.

  • Warwick Burton

Great place for a walk. Lots of new planting and regenerated bush growing. Plenty of birds, especially in the morning. There’s a special dog area at the southern end.

not such a bad beach which has been thoroughly neglected to date. council seems to be working to improve access. they'll probably feck it right up.

Great dog beach recently refurbished with a track crossover so dogs and bikes don't mix. Great job by the Council.

  • Ben Johnson

Love this place. Better than the dog beaches on the eastern side. Lots of room to run, clean and good parking.

  • Sam Rye

Could do with a little more infrastructure but beautiful example of coastal park being restored ecologically.

Good bike track! And also view is great as diverse landscape makes it full of stunning, scenic panoramas.

It's a really peaceful area, very clean around the main paths and it's fun riding a bike around here.
