On a good weather day, this place is great because of its super cool riverside location and outdoor setting. We parked ourselves and ordered via the QR code menu. The guy who brought out my tea apologised there was no lid for the teapot. What kinda place serves tea without a lid?! Then, I asked for the milk. It came quickly, but she sloshed some of it on herself. Next, our food arrived but without cutlery. By now, a few people were commenting that they aren't very organised here. ♀️ The Poke Bowl with Gin cured salmon saved the day. The fresh and wholesome ingredients combined harmoniously, and the pepper mayo topped off the scrumptious meal. Another friend had the Hummus and Flatbread. The serve was generous and the dukkah added interest to the dish. We'd been here before and had similar experiences - good food, meh service. We return only because the location is so appealing.

Friday lunch and everyone but me was very happy with their main meals; while the mussels were good, I found the broth they were cooked in to be very bland which was a disappointment. We ordered the strawberry shortcake for dessert which didn't have a strawberry in sight but the raspberries were great; all up a nice, though misnamed, dessert. The wait staff were all were polite and attentive; when our heater stopped working the server changed the gas tank quickly and efficiently. The only issue I had was that the music was very loud and when I requested they turn in down so we wouldn't have to shout at each other I was told that there was nothing they could do about it as all the music was managed from Arbory Afloat.....it seemed rather obvious to me that it would have been quite simple to talk to the manager of Arbory Afloat and request the music be turned down a little.

I forgot how massive this place is! The whole of the Flinders St platform 10. Haven’t been in a while. Menu very appealing. Cocktails 5 star truly. Alcohol perfectly loaded & priced. Cosmo, Margarita, Raspberry spritz, Gimlet & Rosé. Lovely warm attentive staff. Vitally important for me in a venue. Thanks gang. Food: crispy prawns w squid ink aioli. Very generous serving. So impressed with prawns you can completely demolish. Really very good. Lobster rolls. Thank you very much. I never go past one. Great size. Tasty. Good amount of lobster. More cocktails & spritzes. As we came for lunch on a Thursday not busy at all. Maxie our dog got looked after as well. Thank you Arbory for having a fabulous venue right on public transport overlooking the Yarra. A blissful day.

New England Lobster Roll with Fries
What a way to spend Christmas Day! We had pre booked a table for one of the afternoon / early evening slots. $$ per person were then loaded onto a bar tab which could then be used for meals and food. This was without a doubt the best idea! No mince pies (which we hate) or dishes we are not fans of. Just order what you want - the perfect Christmas feast! We ordered the Prawn Cocktail and the New England Lobster Roll with Fries and Truffle Salt. Both were absolutely devine! With the weather near perfect and a glass of bubbles you could not fault this option. Staff were so lovely in spite of it being Christmas Day. Any questions were answered with a smile and they even found us a second table when our current booked one was timing out. Very high chance we will be seeing you again next year!
Went on a Thursday for their $2 Oyster Thursdays and it was further discounted to 6 for $10. You can skip their Chips with Truffle it’s not that good. But we were very pleased with the Mushroom Risotto & Sirloin Steak. Ambience is always great as it’s by the Yarra. What did notice is that they didn’t have much dinner menu available when we went either sold out or not on the list at all like the Southern Fried Chicken Burger that we wanted to try. Would still come back though and hopefully get to try other food options! You can skip the drinks here as it’s a little bit pricey. Down the bridge is a hidden gem where you can find good drinks with a view.

Arbory Bar & Eatery strikes a balance between being a relaxing, casual spot for a leisurely meal and a lively place for social gatherings. It's perfect for both locals and visitors looking to savor the essence of Melbourne's dining and nightlife scene. However, be prepared for crowds during peak times, as this venue is a popular choice among locals.

My experience at Arbory bar was a mix of positives and negatives. The food was delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the nice view. However, my enjoyment was dampened by the grumbly and angry demeanor of both the bartender and server. Their attitudes affected the overall atmosphere of the place, making it less inviting and enjoyable. I believe that excellent customer service is crucial in any establishment, especially one that aims to provide a pleasant dining experience. I hope Arbory bar takes this feedback into consideration and works on improving the friendliness and attitude of their staff to create a more welcoming environment for their patrons.

Food was absolutely delicious and came pretty quickly after ordering straight from the table. Great range of beers on tap and despite not being the cheapest in terms of price, the atmosphere within the outdoor eating area was quite nice being situated right on the river. Construction works happening next door and Flinders St Station opposite mean it gets very loud during the middle of the day.

Mushroom burger - delicious deep fried mushroom patty paired with halloumi and a heavenly tomato relish
Ate here today for lunch. We had the double cheeseburger (tasty enough, served with chips that were cold) and the pea and ham soup. The soup cost $25, was listed under ‘large meals’ and arrived cold. It also didn’t come with any bread (but of course you could order — and pay for — bread as a side). Cold $25 Small portion No bread Also steak sandwich, also expensive and no fries with it. * I’m laughing at how bad this was Lift your game Oh then there was the coffee. A long black should not come to the table cold. It’s a great location but come on, do better (Also for these prices there should be table service but nope: you have to get your own water and cutlery.)
Had the worst ever customer service at the place. We went there to celebrate my son and daughters birthday. We were left so disappointed by the callous attitude of the staff. They made us wait 45 mins for a dessert which they never evern started preparing and had zero remorse about it. Ultimately we left without having even dessert for the kids birthday. Would never recommend anyone to come here to celebrate their occasions. Imagine letting kids down on their big day. Such a show down @arboryafloat. We are we very very upset and disappointed with your staff.

Tried the new Mexican offering and was left very underwhelmed. We ordered the suckling pig torta, a bunch of tacos, sides and cocktails. The Torta in particular was a huge disappointment, nothing like the Tortas I've had in Mexico, more like a small toasted Panini with a couple of morsels of pork & a handful of fries, all we could taste was refried bean and at $26 this is truly outrageous. The spicy Margarita was way too sweet and Horchata colada was flavourless. Tacos were hit & miss but consistently pricey. Staff were friendly but confused; so many better places to eat in melbourne.

It was our last day in Melbourne and wanted to have a nice cocktail and meal next to the Yarra River. The Espresso Martini was ok, not really impressive. However, the $31 steak wasn’t a good memory. We ordered a medium steak but it came medium-well. They checked and agreed to asked the kitchen to recook us another one. After around 15-20 mins. Guess what! It’s still medium-well! This time we did not ask them to recook for us since we have a flight to catch, but it was so disappointing and made our last night in Melbourne a little bit unhappy.

Overall a great experience. The city view at night is priceless. Food and service was good although it was a Friday night. They have like big beer barrels that work as fireplace... Great idea for winter nights. The calamari was tender and gently coated in flour. The hummus with the pita base was yummy. The melted cheese was good too but I wouldn't have it again. This is a highly recommendable if you are a tourist looking for a bit a tranquility in the heart of Melbourne. Don't forget to give me the thumbs up :)

Outdoor ambience across the river. Heater saves the winter but not the rain! Order should be placed at the counter and payment should be done before hand. Though they have large seating, their don't have wide menu range but limited food dishes. Taste and portion of food were average if compared with the price. Normal chips were better than the truffle chips! Chicken burger did not meet the expectations as well. Must try - Prawns This is a food review, so, not sure about the drinks! It would be better for drinks and little snacks as it has got the perfect view!
party into the weekend : @arboryeatery : Northbank Yarra River : Head to Melbourne’s most happening floating bar and cantina on the Yarra. Enjoy tacos and tequilas this season of Afloat Viva Mexico through until the end of this summer. Bite sized snacks to share and pair with cocktails. I do think that the food wasn’t amazing though the drinks were delicious. And the place was really hectic so you don’t really get service here since it’s so busy.

Day of the Dead at the Arbory Afloat Bar was mega fun. Tix cost $37pp, which included a delish cocktail, tacos, pizza, DJ, a fabulous mariarchi band, wrestlers (who wrestled), a cool dude dressed in ceremonial costume cleansing ppl with sage, free small mouth shots of tequila...people were on board with dress up, the weather was on board also! Congrats, Arbory, for an awesome night. Staff were friendly and service excellent. Atmosphere super fun❣️

Food great. Service great until noticed a mouldy raspberry in cocktail after half was consumed. Pointed it out to a staff member who virtually rolled her eyes, said nothing, took it to bar removed it, put another in, put it back on table. We said thank you. Again eye roll, said nothing and left. Wow, how about apologies, we'll make you a fresh one. The eye rolling should have been us love.

Southern Fried Chicken Burger
What a location! Last platform on Flinders Street Railway Station turned into a bar and eatery. With views to the Yarra river and the Southgate skyline this is a place to be. Superb collection of beer on tap, cider on tap, bottled and canned beer, cocktails and every other alcohol one common thinks of. The food menu is so good. The head chef hails from great previous experiences which sings in the quality of food they serve. They also have a floating bar and restaurant on the Yarra River which is an experience in its self.
Fabulous spot and atmosphere, just a shame that the food and service let it down. The burger that my husband had was really nice but my fish finger sandwich arrived 5 minutes later and was the crunchiest fish I have ever tasted. It was almost inedible. The fries were good however. I’d told my husband to start eating his meal without me and I started eating some of his fries while I waited for my own to arrive. A very disappointing meal that wasn’t cheap

Had brunch here. It is a beautiful spot to have brunch but food isn't really great. I ordered rump steak and egg, steak was not fresh tough, very chewy with an unpleasant aftertaste. They mentioned in their menu i come in meidum rare but steak was mostly blue and raw. We also orederd fritte which was presented well, however taste was a bit confusing between sweet and some spices in the sauce on top. The salad in the side was really nice Overall, i wish there was better food for such a nice place
Iconic bar next to the train station and overlooking the Yarra River. Outdoor bar but you feel enclosed with trees and greenery with wooden decor and furniture. At night there are heaps of fire heaters keeping you nice and toasty on a cool night. One of the only bars that have espresso martini’s on tap! We had a cheese board that could have more fruit or bread but overall a very nice night for a date!

Sharing one of my fave ☕️ spot , whenever I pass by Flinders Street Station ❤️ If you are looking for a cool place to chill with your buddies while enjoying good food and drinks in Melbourne, check out Arbory Bar and Eatery! Arbory boasts an incredible 100 meters of uninterrupted river frontage , just so inlove w/ the beautiful sight of Yarra River , perfect spot to take in and appreciate the beauty of the city! ️ the vibe is just so chill and relaxing!
A great place to have a beer and a light dinner while enjoying the romantic of the Yarra River at night. You can order beer separately at counter and order food or snacks using the QR code at the table. Your ID will be checked upon entry, so anyone who looks young must bring your passport. It was so crowded that it was difficult to get a seat or table, but it was a romantic time.

I love the vibes of this place with all the plants, the decking area and being outside. I went for lunch with my 13 and 16 year old sisters. It was a nice quiet place during the day and it was nice to sit by the Yarra. I’d like to go back with some of my friends on a Saturday night. I’m sure it would be really fun. The lunch menu isn’t extensive but it has all your regular options. Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was reasonably priced.
Saturday lunch. Food was great & everybody at the table was really happy with their choices. Staff were friendly & offered to turn on heater just before we asked. The music was chill & not too loud that you had to shout to be heard. We had a really enjoyable time - would highly recommend to others.

The WORST service ever. Wait over 30 minutes at the bar to get a drink when there were at least 10 bartenders behind the bar. You can’t even get their attention. No que, nothing - just absolute chaos watching them. There was one bartender just chopping limes, didn’t even look up - at peak hour - 10pm on a Friday night? Are you kidding me? The absolute worst bar to go to.

Been attending The Arbory for years: it has always been on the expensive side but their prices are now out of control. They charge 15% surcharge on a public holiday despite having staff on a fixed EBA. No DJ and bars closed during peak times and the consumer pays 15% extra for the privilege,,,,,,? I don’t think so. Very disappointing.

A wonderful to enjoy breakfast or lunch. I recommend the lobster roll. Tasty!!!!! Sit beside the river, listen to the pop music, enjoy a cup of coffee and chat with ur friends. After that, u can walk around the river and appreciate the good view beside the restaurant. Such a nice place to hang around with people. I would like to give five stars for this restaurant.

Arbory being packed usually signals the start of spring when everyone’s feeling cheery, thirsty and hungry. You can’t really beat the location, food and service. The place brings a smile on everyone’s face. Keep an eye on your chips, seagulls are about for a free meal too . All good, all creatures happy.
You can't hear the announcements at Flinders Street Station because this place thinks it's a nightclub. The food might be good, it might not. You can let me know, but it'd have to be somewhere else because I can't hear you over the obnoxiously loud music.

Had a lovely lunch with family by the Yarra River. Nice restaurant. I had the hot dog and it was yummy. The family agrees that their food was also very good. Don’t forget the BBQ sauce if you eat here. It’s a killer! I would come back. #maneklady #manekeats #manektravel
Great location. Food very ordinary. I ordered a fried chicken burger, got a cauliflower burger by mistake. Verrrry greasy and not nice at all. Was replaced, but the chicken burger was ordinary at best. Very oily bread bun, with oil all over the surface. Yuk.
Loved the eatery!!! For me, it ticked all the key ingredients of a good restaurant. 'Arbory' is equipped with a great location(on the banks of Yarra River), enjoyable food, efficient service and a relaxed ambience. Surely, a place to try out for foodies.
Great location and delicious food. It was cold, but I can’t blame them for that. Beers nice and fresh, wings were delicious. The only thing I wasn’t as much of a fan off was the fries. Not quite to my liking, but that is probably personal preference.

It's okay. Not what I thought it would be like. I think this place is more about the scenery and location rather than the food. Food took a while to come out and the quality was not that great. The chicken was dry and mostly had hard fried
This bar is just next to Flinders Street station, very convenient. With this located along yarra river, you definitely get the view and nice ambience. Not too bad for the food, surprisingly! And hey, you just can't resist the chicken …
had a reservation here for me and my 5 friends. one of my friends ordered 5 tequila shots - we were given 4 shots and a glass of limes (no salt?). my friend brought them to our table and placed them all down before we realised we were one
Everything is amazing except for the volume of the music- booked a table for 2pm on a Friday it was a bit loud then. And then it gets turned up even more at about 3pm and I had to lean in to hear my friend talking who was one person away.
First-time eating there. My son loved his double cheeseburger - even ate the pickles! The hotdog was loaded! Nice use of the bread. Cheaper to order directly at the bar, rather than via QR-code. Friendly service and a fantastic location.
