I am a victim of ongoing family domestic violence that has been occurring since the first memories that I can recall as a toddler. I have experienced massive trauma inflicted from decades of physical and mental abuse from my parents. I was forced to escape and because of their highly controlling nature they relentlessly hunted me down, using every resource possible that could destroy me. I voiced my concerns to countless others, and I was ignored from several members of police, legal firms, community healthcare workers and all extended family members. I was so distressed from the emotional abuse until I was led to walk into the office of Aston Legal office uncontrollably crying. I first met a paralegal named Liam Palomba, who kindly greeted me, and he was genuinely concerned for my wellbeing. He guided me to Daniel Dalli, and I explained my complicated circumstance (which I have jokingly been told would be a fantastic movie script). I realised I was in good hands after I researched his work and discovered that Daniel was in the Australian Law Awards for 2020 as a finalist. Over the span of year of emails and phone calls with Rookie Wheelhouse and Sarah Estepho, they greatly assisted in transferring information and instructions accurately on my behalf to Daniel Dalli when he couldn’t be reached. I quickly realised through detailed explanations and assistance related to family law and its application to my case provided by Daniel that there is a limitless overhaul required to restructure the systems behind the law and police duties to prevail true justice. I sympathise with all other victims of family domestic violence as I have encountered stories of other victims that are subdued to injury and/or death while submitting reports to police. I was stressed the day before two of my court dates which I wasn't alerted about prior and I felt like I was going to lose because I had no time to get anything ready, I was so distraught because the cases were very emotionally draining for me already but luckily my mum found the Ashton Legal Group at the last second. A lawyer named Elizabeth Najjar called us at 6pm and agreed to take on both of my cases literally a day before the hearings. She listened to my story and made me feel so hopeful, she really understood my situation and showed me empathy that I didn't expect, it was really refreshing to speak to a lawyer that actually sounded human instead of someone that just wants you in and out. Obviously the prices were on the higher side but that's expected in this profession, but it actually was cheaper than I thought it would be, it was only around 2000 for 2 cases and we won both of them in one day, so it was worth it. They ask you for 2k upfront and then give you back any money that they didn't use (for reference, my cases were both intervention orders). Worst Experience possible. If you are a Father and fear you will lose everything. These guys will help you lose the lot. They had the facts they had the evidence and as the court cases kept coming they basically did nothing but let me lose everything I own and access to my Kid. I advise anybody who is reading the 5 star reviews to actually trust what i am saying and you will save yourself a lot in legal fees for one and actually do some research and talk to people. Remember I lost it all and I actually had proof that was not handled correctly and also had the Police on my side and they still messed this up for me, and all I got and this is the Truth was nothing at all that I actually owned and only had bills from my Lawyer. Sat on this one for 2 Years before reviewing. So for those wondering, this hasn't been an impulsive review. Was an absolute debacle. And I'm still paying for it. Emails weren't responded to. I was told one thing, which contradicted what they did in a previous email. I had to do pretty much all the work myself. I ended up refusing to pay for much of the time on the phone, and being charged, which was double up from my emails anyway. I swear I was one of 35-40 active clients this lawyer was speaking with. Each call was a reminder of what it was about again. I thought the Digital Marketing industry was full of cowboys. You should see the Family Law industry in Melbourne.. wow.

The service I received was marred by the dissemination of incorrect data, spelling mistakes in communication and lack of transparency in terms of billing. If you are traumatised due to an involvement in family violence disputes - you need proficient, competent and supportive services. Not a wise investment of my funds here. I should have gone with a word of mouth recommendation. It’s not about the outcome of court proceedings, but the way in which the client communications and services were handled. One star.
