I am forever grateful for this hospital for treating two burnt fingers on my left hand from a cooking accident three years ago. I did all of the right things prior to presenting to the GP casualty ward (like applying an abundance of cold water to my burns) yet they obviously needed medical attention. The triage nurse was fantastic, my ID band goes on and I take my seat in the waiting room area. I was called right away (despite a fair few other patients waiting for treatment), and was ushered into my own room. The care was outstanding, and the doctors' examination was also thorough. My burns were bandaged up nicely, and I healed quite quickly, and was (to my surprise) able to resume work in my business the very next day as if nothing had happened. The medical gel applied worked wonders. This hospital saved my two burnt fingers from nerves being damaged, and even today these fingers are as good as new, as if no injury had happened at all. Balmain Hospital is a fantastic public hospital with friendly and professional medical staff. Thank you ever so much.

My father has been at the hospital for about 2 weeks i must say that the nurses are friendly but unfortunately not enough stuff therefore long waits for someone to come and attend to a patient. The hospital itself I found not very clean and he in fact i had to complain for the lack of higene considering that most patients are elderly and prone to infection. Since writing the above review my father has been admitted again to Balmain Hospital level 5 which I must say has changed a lot its now quite clean the nurses are around more often the service has improved a lot which is very positive for the patients and the visitors we were quite impressed how clean it looks compared to the last time my father was in Hospital thank you for taking notice and making the changes

This hospital is a little gem. I had an infected leg and checked in to see a Dr. It took less than 15 minutes and I was checked over by two very helpful nurses. The Dr then had a look at my leg and before I knew it they were treating it. I had follow up visits each day thereafter for penicillin IV and was introduced to different medical staff. They were very professional as one would expect, provided top quality patient care and exceed my expectations. I do hope they never get rid of this hospital as it is a resource of the peninsula area and a hidden gem of a public hospital.

Just wanted to share our gratitude and appreciation for the care Balmain Transitional Care Unit provided for my mother Aphrodite. Thank you to all the nurses, doctors, and allied health team for their professionalism, expertise, and support to get our mother home. Special thank you to Dr Eve McClure for her exceptional care! And of course Ai the beautiful Diversional Therapist for her talented skills to brighten up the day for the patients with her enchanting tunes on the piano and her cheerful demeanour. Thank you!

The nurses on level 4, of John Maroney Ward are terriffic, they are so kind and patient and so giving of themselves and i cant believe the stress and sometimes disrespect they put up with from sick patients. i think the staff are fantastic, and very generous peops thankyou Balmain Hospital for getting my mother back to good health and taking such good care of her, the staff goes way and beyond and i cant imagine what we would of done without them. Thankyou to the wonderful nurse’s and doctor at Balmain Hospital who helped me with Covid the day after Boxing day….after ringing untold doctor’s, in Sydney, none would answer..The excellent treatment I received at the hospital before being sent to RPA was so good I only spent a few hours in the Covid Ward. I am in the rehab side of the hospital and am loving the staff from nursing staff right through to the kitchen and cleaning staff. Everyone is making me feel welcome and they can't do enough for me. Yes it is an old hospital but if you want something modern go to a private hospital and pay exorbitant prices. This, to me, has a lot of character and brings back a lot of childhood memories. Thank you Balmain Hospital.

Nice hospital with lots of restaurants near by. However parking is quite expensive. If you need to go there daily you can book parking from Parkhound or any other app. They offer rental parking private owners. I booked for 10 days. Saved heaps on parking. However, book early. Very limited availability. There is paid Street parking available for 4 hours though. But will cost 15-20 for 4 hrs.

On Sunday I had an infected wound redressed at the hospital and an appointment at the wound clinic today to have it redressed.. it was pretty minor and I actually had to cancel today’s appointment.. I just received a phone call - at 7.15 pm from Georgia - in the wound clinic to check that all was ok! I am absolutely blown away! Thankyou Georgia - you are very very special !!!! Debby

It is no exaggeration to say the early parenting centre at this place changed our lives. We had a wonderful experience at the Early Parenting Centre at Figtree Private late last year. Special shoutout to the fantastic Mel who was outstandingly caring, supportive and knowledgeable - the support here changed our daughter's sleep habits and therefore changed our lives (no joke!).

When emergency strikes I've taken my children to emergency at Balmain Hospital and have always had the best of treatment. Thank you to all of the staff in Emergency at Balmain. We visited Sunday 14th November for my son who had broken his leg and the staff were so caring and accommodating. We even received a follow up call this week which you don't receive from your GP!

호주 여행왔다가 갑자기 아파서 찾아간 병원인데 제가 영어를 하나도 못하니까 병원에서 근무하시는 한국인 간호사분을 모셔와주셔서 수월하게 진료받을수 있었습니다. 영어를 못하는데도 친절히 대해주고 쉬운 영어로 설명해주셨어요. 대기시간은 워크인으로가서 2시간가량 걸렸습니다. 예약을 해도 1시간은 기다리는 호주병원들을 생각하면 그렇게 오래걸리지는 않았어요. Thank you for your kind and unbiased care. I should not be sick, but if I am sick again, I will definitely visit this gp. Thank you Balmain hospital.

After my second visit to this hospital, I can say I have never had such bad experiences with a hospital. Their staff are rude, unprofessional and not helpful at all. Safe yourself from the stress and go to a proper hospital like RPA. At least you know you are waiting in the queue and when the doctor will visit you despite many patients.

Went to Balmain Hospital tonight and had the best care from the entrance a lovely woman signed me in the receptionist was kind efficient and organised.The nurses are wonderful warm, and very qualified and gentle.Excellent and thoughtful advice from the Dr who was very caring and has so much knowledge and is a very compassionate person.

Balmain is wonderful little hospital. I recently had to make repeated visits and everyone from front office in emergency to doctors and nursing staff could not have treated me better. I was not just a patient, I was a person. They explained to me what was happening, and why. They were patient and re-assuring. A top team.

Don't go in their walk-in clinic. I got misdiagnosed twice, before getting a half-right diagnosis and not suitable antibiotics. I ended up with a pierced ear drum, a total of six doctor visits (three in Balmain), one month of constant pain, and medical bills over 1300 Dollar (Traveler).

I think this hospital and their staff is appalling due to the way they treat and deal with visitors. They made false and misleading allegations against me, that they acted on, saying I had the intentions of drink driving with one of their current patients. Ps I don't drink alcohol .

terrible how long they make sick people wait to get treated, they don’t tell you when you are in the line and don’t give you updates or reassure you at all, was say waiting for over 3hrs. also they are understaffed and only have one doctor on for a lot of people don’t go here

Balmain Hospital has once again been a life saver. Thank you to the staff who took such incredible care and concern over the new year period to dress and look after a wound. Thanks particularly to Susan, Lily, Paul and Lynda in emergency for your knowledge and experience.

After my third visit to this hospital over as many years I can safely say I have never ever in my life had such bad experiences with a hospital. Their staff are rude, unprofessional and not helpful at all. Safe yourself the stress and go to a proper hospital like RPA.

My Mother was transfered from Concord Hospital to Balmain Hospital after her surgery. They provided excellent geriatric care & did everything possible to help her recover. Thank you to all the staff who worked soo very hard . She is doing alright in the nursing home.

First of all I would like to thank all the Dr's and staff that help me . I infection in my leg and I had to visit the hospital every day for almost 2 mths and the staff and Dr's are all wonderful and the quality of care could not have been any better

great service , excellent nurses, they must have a lot of patience, its not eay to deal with elderly. I went to see my uncle this morning, I could see and feel hoe my uncle had been well looked after. No ords to describe their brilliant job.

if you happen to be unvaxxed of the heart disease jab c19- you will be treated completely differently to people who have been Covid vaxxed. Only when the vaccinated have been seen too- you will then be seen too and treated like you are dumb

The doctors and nurses were extremely nice and friendly. The Dr recommended the best local pubs in my area as I'm new to Sydney and they made me feel a lot better in general about how I got here. Look out for cars on the road folks.

Balmain Hospital, Never send a love one there, its a dirty horrible place to be.IF you have no choice keep an close eye on your dear old parents or Family members.The nurses are crule and mean,and abusive So run for your life

Arrived with Dad yesterday for Rehab, they had no bottles of water and till today no Tissues had blow his nose with paper towels ,the staff are fluffing around not much interaction with patients and not the cleanest.

I have been to the emergency department multiple times and every time I am discharged with no answer to what is wrong. Not a single test is made, they asked a couple of questions and told to get on my way.

They looked after me today with efficiency and genuine care - I was truly in good hands. What a great crew you have from covid entrance team to reception and the medical team. Well done.

Don’t waste your time. They told me to go to another emergency department To get a drip. That’s why I went there I was sick… they just sent me elsewhere so sick I’m barely able to walk.

This hospital service is pathetic. Hated the experience. Dissatisfied with service. I recommend you don't go. They make you sit hours to basically give you a Google diagnosis. Pathetic

Really terrible experience. Waited over four hours to be seen in there casualty ward. Another couple had been waiting 6 hours. Do not go here unless all other options exhausted.

Thank you to the staff for the excellent care and rehabilitation of my mother after her surgery. We noticed high staff to patient ratio, and very empathetic, caring staff.

Had to wait 4 hours just to be seen with a cut knee down to the bone, sat there bleeding all over myself until they finally saw me. procedure went smoothly though

What kind of hospital is closed on bank holidays? This is more a hospice than a hospital, note to anyone reading: there appears to be no A&E here, go to the RPA.

2 hours in the waiting room and then an hour sitting by myself in an empty hospital room just for the doc to show up and be zero help whatsoever

Very friendly, helpful staff and the hospital has bulk billing if you have a Medicare card. I waited less than 5 minutes to see a doctor.

My father currently in Balmain for rehab .Staff are lovely . Nurse Ike is amazing , He is professional , empathetic and friendly .
