A group of 15 was booked for Mothers day by my daughter in law for the surname Aysen time estimated of 14.00. Some of the 10 people arrived about 13.30 and we arrived about 13.45. There was a queue so we proceeded to the the group of ours standing about 1/4 of the queue. I went to the ladies and when I returned it was only our group in the queue. When I asked my daughter in law what the delay was she said that they were told to wait and those standing behind us could proceed to their tables. I immediately got upset knowing that our booking was not quoted for and we were having to be delayed because of something or other. I told the group that this was uncalled for and demanded to speak to the manager. Someone overheard us speaking in a very loud voice and said she was going to check. She came back and guided us to the place where we were supposed to sit. I could immediately see that this place was set up just now because it was 5 tables which seats 4 was pushed together right in front of all the other 4 seated tables fairly set apart from each other. We were very agitated by this because it looked as if we have been squeezed in. Obviously after this nothing went right. Our beverages took a half an hour and eventually when food arrived the childrens food wasn't ready and had to wait while some of the adults were already eating. The adults food was a mix up because nothing was noted by the table attendee. The whole mealtime was a disaster food and desert was in a shambles resulting in by the time that we left people were still awaiting their desert and decided to take away and not even that was right because by the time we got to the door the one couple noticed that their desert was incomplete and had to turn back. I severely recommend no big group can be accommodated there and the food wasn't even worth the price .

Plants add a feeling of warmth and calmness to your home.Natural plants are good for the eyes and bring pleasant greenery and tranquility to your home. From the moment you get out of your vehicle you are struck by the array of pots and other holders for plants, cute and humorous statuettes for your garden and other items to make your garden a special place. You know you are bound to walk out with something when you are done, even if it is a tasteful artwork at one of the stalls or some wine at the wine shop. Your main focus would, however, be to browse the wide variety of plants and trees on offer.Staff always friendly and ready to assist. Having said all the above, the visit to The Bamboo Restaurant would almost be an afterthought, and it shouldn't be. Customers visit the restaurant without visiting the nursery. The food is excellent and the service is quick and friendly. I had a burger with extra camembert and it was delicious. Had some red wine that was ok but could not get used to the idea that it was served in something resembing a tumbler. The visit to the nursery was overall a very calming experience.and the visit to The Bamboo Restaurant was a good way to end it off.

As usual the Bamboo Garden does not disappoint. During our last visit my friend had a light meal as he was flying back the UK and I had a steak sauce and veggies. Both were perfect, the service excellent, and the general buzz from patrons under the African sky a mindful yet warm din. Great to relax after or before doing the plants at the Cape Garden Centre. Those who would like to burn some calories away should eat well here first then explore the plants. The obverse is true, shop for plants, pack in the car, go eat at Bamboo Garden to build up strength for the offload and planting back home. qp quoteparrot on FB and qp quoteparrotworld on Instagram

went to the Bamboo Restaurant at CG Centre, in February with a group of seniors. From inception we had the most attentive waitron Winston (FAST) . He was extremely patient with us 'Oldies'. The food was exceptional and portions well sized. Without fail each meal was thoroughly enjoyed and no "doggy bags" were requested. The quality of the food was very good and well priced. After the main meal we sat a long time just chatting and then we had desserts. The apple cake was a hit so were the ice cream towers and drinks. We never for a moment felt that the table was needed. So all in all a very pleasant experience and we are thinking of making this a monthly visit because of the service we received from Winston and the quality of the food. The setting is another positive drawcard. After the desserts we had a leisurely walk through the Garden Centre. Will definitely be going back!!!!
It really does not happen often that you find a restaurant that ticks ALL the boxes. This one however is one of the ones that does. We were 7 people that had food and drinks. Our waiter was Siya! He did not use a notebook to take down our order, and had our order 100%. They went a few extra miles for us. Accomodated our children's shared order by plitting it in the kitchen allready. They even shortened the straws to fit the smaller glasses we asked for, for the kids. The food was shockingly delicious. I can not believe the price you pay, considering what you get. Exceptional value! The portions are big (without wasting) and the taste is extraordinary. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. If I ever get the opportunity to choose a restaurant that I have to manage, it will be this one.
We visited this morning and it had a nice atmosphere. Our friends brought their 2 year old so we were conveniently seated right next to the play area. There were quite a few toys to play with, but in general the play area definitely needs some love. The step from the Wendy house is quite high and the bridge on the climbing frame is quite dangerous as the one end is completely open and leads to nothing. Not safe for smaller kids to play on. In general we had delicious meals and the portions were generous. We ended up paying R500 for 4 adults and 1 child which is very reasonable. Would definitely visit again, just hope they'd fix up the play area as it doesn't compare to the rest of the restaurant.
Whenever we go to the nursery, we stop for a bite at the restaurant. Decent prices, good portions with a nice variety. Always cool inside on a hot day.

Very disappointing in the so called scones! We went there today to have tea and scones. What we got was NOT Scones at all. It looked like a muffin and was wrapped with paper like a muffin. It looked weird and was tasteless! When we called the manager she said that they make "yogurt based scones". We asked her how can they even call it a scone if it looks like a muffin or cup cake? She just apologized and left it there. Why can they not just make a plain and simple traditional scone? Do yourself a favor and don't ever eat their so called scones, it tastes disgusting!

Fantastic all round experience. Menu item was changed to suit my lifestyle with no fuss. Was served by Slow and for those that don't know , there are twins that work there and their names are Slow and Fast. Fantastic sense of humour from them both which added to the experience of very tasty food and prompt service. If looking for gardening /plants then look no further than Cape Garden Centre and stop by Bamboo Restaurant for a late breakfast /light lunch. Did not add photos as I don't have their permission to do so.

Very nice venue. Limited menu service was good but for the venue with limited menu I found it really expensive. Do not sell muffins, croissants only big item breakfasts and the Coffee not the best but the most expensive I've ever bought R45 for a small milky cappaccino Did address it with manager and was told its from a private source hence the elevated price hmmmm Across the way there was a coffee shop Moko. Excellent coffee biggish takeaway cup R28. Later went back for more and took a packet of beans home with me

Let's start with the cappuccino, it was scalding hot to start with almost no foam, the barista was probably under pressure or new. The food was cold when it arrived. The waiters completely forgot about us and the tables around us, when any table needed anything they had to get up and ask for service, not once a few times.

Discovered a gem,,,halfway between Cape Town and Kraaifontein ,,,,,,right next to Kraaifontein,,,,its a combination of restaurant and a gardeners dream,,beautiful layout with a multitude of stalls to choose from,,,,,However,,, the kiddies playground is rather small and constricted,,but apart from that really excellent layout,,,,,I'm definitely making the Bamboo Restaurant my halfway stop from now on ,,,,, Go find this one for your selfs
Tucked away in the hills of Franshoek lies a hidden gem in the form of the Bamboo Garden Restaurant. With a lovely selection of main meals ranging from quiche and pie to fish and calamari, and decadent, indulgent desserts, all for an affordable price. Truly one not to miss!

Lovely environment. Water fountains create a calming, tranquil eating experience. Little birds fly in and out in the outside area. You can eat inside as well. They serve, breakfast, lunch and dinner. But not open late. They close when the nursery closes. Service is good and friendly .Food is good and comes with chips or salad if you order a toasted sandwich, like we did.

Bamboo Garden Restaurant is that special place to unwind & order your drinks & meal to brighten your day. The waiters are soooo friendly & not pretentious at all. Their quality of food is top & I urge families - with young children - to visit, relax & spend a relaxing time over a great meal while your children ARE watched & cared for.

Very busy, popular place! I’ve enjoyed meals there. At my last visit, our waiter (one of twins working there) was friendly and had our group laughing. Minus a star because the first piece of cake received was dry, so I asked for a replacement. I had the option to choose an alternative, so decided to have the lemon meringue instead - delicious!

We had a lovely outing here. The coffee was good and the food was delicious! I had a salami, cheese, pesto and sun-dried tomato sandwich and I was so happy with the flavor! My husband had French toast and also enjoyed his food. The service was great and we had a overall wonderful experience!
