"Very slow service"
The real rating is somewhere between abysmal and a clown show . queuing for 45 minutes late morning … 1 clerk , but 2 or 3 staff doing their utmosts to get you to self bank on terminals even though that process can’t deal with 50%. Of the customers . Great to be asked in a city centre bank with no door security how much you wish to withdraw … thanks for telling the world . The staff are scruffy and unkempt , for god’s sake you’re a bank not a bowling alley ! Unfortunately my other accounts at Lloyds are handled in an equally unprofessional manner ! These places are only in business due to lack of competition. Customer Service only exists in their marketing campaigns. 3 in the queue walked whilst we were waiting .
I am far from being a technophobe and welcome automation where appropriate but in this branch's case, they've got it totally wrong. If you need to do something that the machines can't do or they are broken, you are left with only two counters and a wait of 20m. The staff were quite brisk. I would understand that maybe they were a bit overwhelmed by having to deal with all these customers who couldn't use the machines, but I was ignored whilst they just talked to eachother. Also, as of November, this branch has reduced opening hours for 'staff training'. If so many staff have been replaced by machines, how do they need more time for training??
Horrible service staff had no sort of knowledge of what’s going on unorganised. customers waited in lines for over 45 minutes while some where just going inside the security and staff male outside had no idea what they were doing , I was in the que for 45 minutes afterwards another staff from inside came to me and said you where out here for a while I explained to him I just wanted to deposit 21 pounds he then let me in people with babies were just left their . When an elderly man asked the staff what’s going on he replied your not royalty the security giggled . Really this is disgusting .
Wasted an hour of my life in Barclays Bank Today! When I first walked in I asked the very rude man at the front of store where i needed to go in order to get a replacement card reader. He informed me to queue for the personal banking desk! After queuing for 35 minutes the man at the desk looked at me confused when I spoke to him and proceeded to turn to his colleague for a chat before addressing me. When he finally answered my questioned he said he couldn't do that and I have to do it through the app - which is the reason why I needed the card reader in the first place. VERY UNHELPFUL!!!!
Very slow service. As with many other high street banks Barclays have undergone a shift towards automated banking with slogans such as "do your everyday banking here" (aparently everyday banking no longer includes withdrawing cash). If of course you have to join the cashier queue you'll find yourself stood in a long line of miserable, unhappy Barclays customers that are experience the same excruciating wait to be seen by two members of staff that look like they should still be in school. My suggestion avoid this branch during lunchtime, or if you have any other plans for the day.
If you are going to get rid of all the staff on counter service, pleasetting make sure your machines are actually working. In the branch on Albion Street in Leeds and the only member if staff was going so slowly with his customer as he was continuing to chat with others. After waiting patiently for ages, I asked the guy with a silly top knot pony tail stood next to him doing nothing to help, but he said he wasn't logged on. Dismissive, slow and rude staff and machines that are supposed to replace them not working! Sort it out Barclays! A very annoyed customer!
I had no idea how to use the new machines i was desperate for help but staff members were just chatting and avoiding me didnt even look my way I waited that somebody might arrive but no one did i was very upset and did not manage to do what i came for is this Leeds citys main branch? it seriously needs inspection to the management how is a place like this running where customer is not given any importance and left with no help careless, talentless and ignorant staff i felt worthless not going here again!
Really helpful staff, whilst I was sorting out a mortgage application I needed documents certified on two seperate occassions and I also came into branch to change my current account 'extras' due to the recent changes. On all 3 occassions I was seen straight away -no queuing thanks to the new upstairs area. I also found the staff to be knowledgable and helpful. Much better customer service than other banks i have encountered. And reaffirmed why I have always banked with yourselves Thanks Barclays
For the sake of confidentiality I won't mention any names, but I'd just like to express my gratitude towards all of the staff who work here. I was having mobile banking issues and the lengths the staff here went to to help me out was amazing! Staying after the time they had to leave their shift is not in their job description but they went out of their way to help solve a simple issue of mine. Brilliant customer service, if you are a Barclays customer I recommend you go here!
Worst customer service ever. Been there 3 times, 2 of them got refused to withdraw coins, another time brought in coins and they would not count it for me and told me that I have to go back home and count it myself. And the 3rd time I visited, finally got served with the biggest attitude. Sort our your staff that thinks they're better than everyone else and doesn't want to serve customers which are not there for business account reasons or dealing with big sums of money.
Worst bank I have ever been to staff did not know what they were doing no experience at all they were rude service was slow nobody seems to care all staff were doing were chatting to eachother disgusting bank really needs a check because they are ruining reputation horrible people the chairman and directors need to observe this joke I went upstairs for help but all I saw was lots of people and no staff and no help I stood their for 20mins but nobody saw me
The worse bank I have ever had the displeasure of using. Still trading off the 'covid' disruption as a mask for it's poor customer service. It has one 'business banking' counter that they allow for everyday use. In a busy city centre, and one like Leeds that's meant to be a financial stronghold it's completely lacking the facilities needed. No wonder Barclays branches are closing down throughout the UK.
my bank card expired 2 months ago , i orderd a new one and they say it will take 5 working days , i webt to them and told them i didnt got the card , is there any problem the said orderd a new one and it is been like that without a bank card for 2 months , i went to another branch in london , they told me they just need to confirm the address and these guys in leeds didnt confirm it all that time
Can't book appointments for any face to face visit, have to just turn up and queue. Takes forever as they seem they've about 2-3 advisors on duty at any one time, dealing with absolutely everyone including the people whose appointments take huge amounts of time. Currently sat in branch having been waiting for an hour already, having initially been given an estimated wait of 8 minutes. Useless.
Serious problems at this branch, employees do their best to persuade you they cannot be of any assistance, prior to you actually advising them of the reason for your visit. In their defense, when they reluctantly bring themselves to look into a matter, they are totally useless, so they do get 5 stars for consistency. Very disappointing, will not have my financial accounts with Barclays again.
this place has no right to be open in middle of the city with the worst service ever imagined if you cant give your customers a peaceful service without the machines dying and taking all of your money with clueless staff then this place needs to close and pack up why are you doin this to ur customers clearly undont care vvv time consuming AVOID at all costs! This place needs to shut down
Very poor customer service, Just called by to see if Barclays offerd an Identity checking service. Barclays front of house staff informed me they didn’t offer such a service and they didn’t even know me by name, only been a customer for 25 years. If you need this service go to the post office 6-16 New York street Leeds The staff are helpful and will treat you with respect.
FIRSTLY DOES ANYONE FROM BARCLAYS READ THESE REVIEWS ?? The staff at Leeds Metro in the centre of Leeds, deal with you as if you are a nuisance and they are doing you a favour. They should all be sent on customer service courses and then sent to Barclays Wakefield to see how it should be done. DISGUSTING ATTITUDE AND NON EXISTANT CUSTOMER "SERVICE"
Louise service is very rode and unprofessional. Been there for a reference letter. braclays customer service team send me to branch. The lady in the front desk her name is Louise. state way refuse me they don't do it. I kindly try to manage her she was bit rude and unpolite and uprofessional. Finally I got it from same branch.
I had a very good experience at this branch. Having failed to set up a student current account during the summer I went into this branch asking what I needed to do to get one. An appointment for a few days later and I got my student current account. If you have all the correct documents with you it is a very easy process.
Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. They helped when one of the self service machine broke on me and they made sure that I could use another. They also provided me with an envelope so that I didn't have to carry my confidential paperwork (copy statements) around in the open. That is above and beyond in my opinion.
Barclays have failed to provide explanations as to why they have put my accounts under review and despite promises it would take ten days, we are now on day 20. Complaints department promised a response within 24 hours and a full response within 5 days. That again was 8 days ago and nothing. Extremely disappointing
It's an embarrassment to admit I bank with Barclays. This branch epitomises its customer facing attitude. The inane greeting, "Are you alright, there?" Queuing at the only desk open - the second desk doesn't work! Greeters wander about. No Premier Account facility. Is this really the best that Barclays can offer?
Bad attitude, I was talking to the customer service on phone and the lady in the call wants to talk to one of members in branch, I passed my phone to a reception lady and she just hang up my phone with really bad service. And the wait in upstairs took ages. I spend the whole morning just to remove my card block!!
What ever you do don't have a barclays account they have stolen money from my account which was suppose to go to my phone bill company and have kept it in pending transaction for 4 days and when you phone you get automatic service that messes you about for ages they are a joke I advise people to swap there banks
I've been waiting two weeks for an appointment after going three different times to that bank. When I finally got it, they told me that they couldn't open my bank account because a coma was missing on a document. This ridiculously long waiting time and low service didn't help me at all. Awful bank and service
I arrived a few minutes past 2 on Wednesday the desk was closed was quite upset as I had waited hours for a bus I wanted to deposit some cash a lady called Anne was very helpful and asked the lady at the desk to assist me which she did was very grateful to both of these ladies
I am lucky that I have second bank with Nationwide, always busy come back second day, and second day come back next day. Its just useless. Just moved all my saving out to nationwide. Avoid this bank at all cost. They are not really understanding you and trying to help you.
Why is there no counter service wanted to pay a large bill told to go upstairs. Waited over 45min with no number or queueing system, and didn't see a member of staff. Went downstairs to try and complain and couldn't see anyone on the floor. Why is it so hard to move money
It’s hard enough with the shorten opening time of bank, visited the bank at 3.30, an hour before closing time and was told they are closed and to come back the next day!?Staff showed no interest in helping customer, typical end of shift service...ITS JUST POOR!
I believe that the employees there or they don’t know or they don’t want to help you . They are very rude and whatever you ask them they cannot help you . They say call from the app or sort it out from the app. I don’t know why exist this branch
It’s ridiculous, long waiting times, one counter working and to top it all off reduced opening hours. This means if you work you cannot be seen in branch unless it’s a Saturday. It’s poor from Barclays. I am moving my money elsewhere
Thankyou so much to Abby & Mo for immediately solving my problem. The service was quick and effective and it was great receive friendly customer service. A good atmosphere in the branch as the team members all supported each other.
Constant queueing outside! Shortened opening hours and barely any appointments! Yes covid is happening right now but other banks, shops and restaurants are still functioning normally with excellent service. Absolute joke.
Very slow service. 3 staff just chatting at 3pm on the 20th of March for 20 minutes when I was there. No greetings on the first floor. Just rubbish. Going to shut my account not going to face this again in the future
Extremely poor service, ill mannered staff, they are not aware of the policies and client handling because the rules and information are different from staff to staff. They even don't deserve a single star on ranking
Terrible bank with very rude staff. The Moortown branch had lovely staff, this branch is absolutely rubbish. And of course Barclays axe the good branch and leave the bad one. I'll be switching to a different bank.
First time visit in years (had to pay in a cheque and took the bus) and only because EVERY other branch has been closed in Leeds ! Because of this I knew there would be a queue but even this location is
Best customer care no long time waiting ... no appointments required for opning an account... staff was very good and friendly .. first impression is the last one and am really really impressed ...
Cash machine broke down was stood there like an idiot no help arrived ques were terribly long and no staff was around going to shut my account and switch to a bank who care not having any of this
This particular branch of Barclays has seen fit to employ a particularly obnoxious bald security guard at the front door, as seen on YouTube. Hopefully the rest of the staff are more polite.
Worst service ever, I was waiting in the queue then they told to go upstairs when I went upstairs and I was waiting they told to go down again and to wait for the queue. Worst service ever
On the first floor So long more den 45min whiting on the set just for information to ask abut my bank incoming some payments no one come to me I'm not happy at all :( no good service
Disgusting. I'm so angry I've closed my account. Customer service is appalling. Treated like a low life vagrant. AND I had £40:000 in my account. I'd give zero stars if possible.
Personally i found the staff to be nice and helpful but the problem this branch is severely understaffed which is unreasonable considering the location and services provided.
If I could leave a review without a star I would!. Not a bad bank, but the staff were really disrespectful. I really think they could benefit from a customer service course.
Barclays invested 24 billion in the expansion of fossil fuels between 2016-2018. It is a terrible, terrible record of injustice done to those affected by global heating.
Didnt know where to go when i walked in no obvious signs, a member of staff upstairs was rude in regards to the looks he gave judt because i walked upstairs
The worst ever customer service. Lady at the cashier point is absolute waste of space. Complete useless.....1 hour waiting in the queue of 4 customers!!!!
Absolutely no customer service and impossible to get an appointment. As soon as I can get to speak to someone a real person I will be closing my account
It’s always short of staff and the staff are so cold and they just don’t want you to be there. Open NatWest account and they welcome you always
Need to book an appointment and told I will have to go into the branch them to be told they have none and make the appointment for another day
It's packed, crowded and when you coming pay in some cash you have to spend some time in line to automated service. Not happy chappy.
You need to have more staffed counters. Had to wait ovet 50 minutes to be served due to you only having two staffed counters.
Staff attitude is excellent and always happy to come in to Barclays - I spoke with Anne today and she was brilliant
The staff is disrespectful and looks very impatient. If all business could be done online, you should all be fired.
Given a thorough 30-40 minute ignoring by the staff ... I would never recommend the bank on this performance
Rubbish service. Told to queue to use the cashing out desk and when I got there they told me they closed it
Really don't know what can I say just bad service and staff don't have enough experience really dispoint
The people on the counter were so rude and procrastinators. So much disappointed by their behaviour.
I was servers today by Andrew and he was the best. Thanks for the brilliant customer service.
Bad attitude over and over when i visit this place. Going to change banks i think. No Bueno
Always short staffed, long queues, half of the machines do not work. Time to switch banks.
Just terribleThere’s usually only one person on and it takes ages to get to the counter.
Needs to rmploy less staff telling you where to queue and more tellers at the counter.
Absolutely shameful, that a city as big as Leeds only has a branch in the city centre.
6 weeks waiting time to book an appointment to get an identity check is pathetic
Exceptionally rude and condescending staff with no ability to manage customers.
Very rude staff, and they are taking so long to serve you, absolutely rubbish.
Ignore us when the machine has problem. Leave us in panic for half an hour
Very bad service and unworthy staff, 3 hour wait for a name change wrong
Machines downstairs - upstairs is old style services. May have to queue.
Branch in Leeds city centre staff absolutely rubbish very bad services
Staff are always helpful! But the queues can be long at lunchtime.
Closed all you’re branches.. pointless having a Barclays account
There’s like 2 staff on having to manage loads of customers.
Unhelpful staff. Turn you away for their own convenience.
Worst customer service ever. Always understaffed.
The staff have good behaviour and very helpful.
Long wait, bad system.
