"Love this park"
Such a wonderful place for picnics and large family gatherings. Lots of trees provide lots of shade. An abundance of BBQ grills are spread throughout. This place is huge! Plenty of parking and plenty of land. I suggest you get there early if you and yours are celebrating a major holiday. For this is a very popular spot. Although there may be families all around, animals included they're a pet friendly facility, there is so much space one barely notices. It's not crowded at all yet the place is full. Every family has their own territory and it is substantial, enough to have an Easter egg hunt or play volleyball or soccer or whatever floats your boat. There are restrooms and I noticed a pavilion that we brought our own canopies I think most people in Houston have them LOL. Hands down,I was really, really impressed! All you really need is your family, friends, pets, coolers, fold up chairs, shade if you want it and some food to cook on the charcoal. Make a day of it! We did. And there are playgrounds but we brought our own fun. I give it two thumbs and look forward to the next time.
Had a wonderful Easter Sunday at the park with all my grown children and my 4 yr old granddaughter. It was really packed, so we had to bring our own table, cover and grill, but for how crowded it was everyone was very friendly and respectful. I took my little dog and he had a wonderful time even though most of the day he was secured to a tree, but he has a very long leash. My oldest son and granddaughter took him for a nice walk, so the only problem we had were the few people who did not have their dogs in leashes. Overall a great experience.
Dog-friendliness
The park is very dog friendly, but I wish they would be a little stricter with the leash law. Other than that my sweet old man had a wonderful time.
Decided for a group walk given the fantastic weather. Animals were cute. Seems to be new(ish) enclosures for the winged animals from the last time I had been there. Well kept and good display placards to teach about the given animal. A bit muddy but that's easily avoided as desired. Clean and efficient bathrooms. Plenty of parking. Picnic spits including a few covered locations/small pavilions. Baseball field, soccer posts, general open areas and playground make it ideal for letting the kids burn off some energy. Cops make the rounds but of course, don't leave high price things exposed. Nice area to mix up your walk/jog routine!
I love this place ever since my dad and my favorite step mom were together qe always go here and just I have so many beautiful memories that I have with my dad and step mom in this park and I always get emoitonal and sometimes cry whenever i go here because since my step mom and my dad divorced it was a difficult time and just will never forget those memories that I had with them in that park but I do recommend going there is a lot of birds and you can feed some wild birds as well and I theres a lot of them and just a beautiful place to just spend time with family and make a happy fun memories
Love this park. Bring cooler filled with water, gatorade, sodas, food, and bring the fun. Have our family field day here. There is so much fun rent. A gazebo has plugs or a tent and set up and have hours of fun. They have restrooms volleyball poles (bring your own net and ball)
Playground
Playground for the younger kids to play slide swings and more.
Restrooms
Restrooms always clean with soap and toilet paper.
Dog-friendliness
Play Frisbee with dogs.
Picnic area
Lots of tables under trees to eat.
It's still a good place to go and exercise like jogging, playing baseball, soccer oh yeah and Sweating so since this is Hot Texas Fill you up a cooler with drinks and find an area to enjoy with family or friends you don't have to Exercise or play a sport you can come and walk your dog and see the left over birds that are here and a pound filled with turtles. It is good to come and get some fresh air under the shade of the trees which there are plenty of and tables under the trees and. Play ground for the kids.
This park is one of the ones I usually go to! It’s really big and has a few kid parks and swings. And I used to have parties here so much but sadly people have trashed this place to it’s point! When we went today and but as well every time before this it’s been trash on tables. And trash on the ground and literally everywhere.I really wish people cleaned up more after themselves but not everything can go our ways.Anyway it was really pretty out today and empty! Beautiful scenery so I took a few videos
Beautiful park to enjoy the outdoors, walk, gather with family and friends. It has many areas. It’s really big and that’s great! Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the signage to find the pavilions is not good. They need better signs to direct the cars to the pavilions otherwise one will be driving in circles. It was difficult to find pavilion #6 not coming from Clay road but the opposite entrance where the war outside museum is located. But wonderful park otherwise.
I love this park growing up it was a very very nice park my dad used to always take us to this park and when I got children and we moved to Katy I would take them to this park and we would just walk around and enjoy one another. We would go look at the animals and we'll go around the track and get on the swings. We would just have an enjoyable time it is a good park for families and to have a picnics and to just really catch some sun rays. So go my friend and take your family.
Bear Creek Park in Houston is a true gem! The sprawling green spaces, scenic trails, and serene lakes make it a perfect spot for a peaceful escape or a fun day out with family and friends. The well-maintained facilities, like playgrounds and picnic areas, add to the park's charm. Whether you're into hiking, bird-watching, or simply relaxing in nature, Bear Creek Park offers something for everyone. It's a fantastic place to connect with nature right in the heart of the city.
Had a really good time at this park. Went to go fishing and caught some nice ones. Had a squirrel come up to me with no hesitation, wish I had something to give him. It was a lot of caterpillars around. They were falling out of the trees and crawling everywhere. Made good for fish bait. Now there were ALOT and I mean ALOT of snakes. It’s spring time so please be careful. And what really surprised me was that the restroom was very clean. Will definitely go back
A magnificent park with heaps of choices, for different exercises. Families can go there and have excursion, play, party. Kids park, immense parking areas, where, there, student drivers likewise can take a benefit with alerts. Huge green concealed regions to lounge around on substantial seats and relaxe. Trails inside the forest for nature darlings. Definitely a dynamite spot to invest your additional recreation energy.
A beautiful area to have a fresh walk and enjoy some food with family !!Not to mention the free and easily accessible area to visit some animals almost like a zoo!One thing is even though the park is very clean and appealing I hope they take as much care of the animals as they do to the park. Some of the parrots look very sad and there area not that clean .Besides the animals habitat the park is a wonderful place to be !
Great place for family get together! We reserved a Pavillion which has a very large BBQ pit which comes with a lavatory (sink) & table. There are also 2 other tables for food, condiments, etc. Picnic tables & good lighting too. There's plenty of space for volleyball, badminton, football or any other fun sport. We had a great time at our party. Everyone helped pick up trash before leaving, to help keep it clean & safe.
This was an overall quite quiet park. There was such a lot of room and space to accompany companions, family, or a date. I cherished having an excursion here in light of the fact that the nightfall was pleasant and it feels great knowing families and companions utilize this park to play, celebrate, and practice any game. In case I'm nearby and need to have an excursion or work out, then, at that point I'd come here.
Bear Creek park is absolutely massive and has something for everyone! I recently went with some friends to play tennis and hand to share that the courts are great! There are 4 courts so there is plenty of room for multiple groups (or a large group like mine!) the courts dried quickly after light raining unlike some other courts I usually play at. Everyone we spoke to on the courts were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful park but obviously the people that go to the park are a lot of foreigners and they have absolutely no respect for the state of Texas or The United States. They just throw their trash anywhere they want except for the trash can they leave all kinds of trash all over the park. As a result of their trashy ways what used to be a very beautiful park has turned into a land fill of thrash.
An awesome park with lots of options, for various activities. Families can go there and have picnic, play, party. Kids park, huge parking lots, where, there, learner drivers also can take an advantage with cautions. Large green shaded areas to sit around on concrete benches and relaxe. Trails inside the woods for nature lovers. Surely a spectacular place to spend your extra leisure time.
This part gives me nature therapy! Such a huge part was so many options. Big open fields, playgrounds spattered around the park, animals on display in one section of the park, tennis courts, running track, baseball fields, pavilions to rent out for parties, restrooms all throughout. Give this place a try! There are two parts to the park connected by one road... Explorer all over
Such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, as a group me and a few peers went for a fun day out in the sun, and for a work out. The park provided alot of space as well as allowing for us to be able to enjoy our own activities without any interference from other Park goers the place was not too crowded and it was very enjoyable at the same time, being around other active people.
For the playground area of a big park, it was tiny. There was maybe 20 kids there which is reasonable for the area and there was really one set of swings and one climb & slide area. Not enough for more than maybe 10 kids. One of the fixtures was even closed off with yellow tape, didn't seem friendly at all. With 4 kids. It's payable. If there's more, impossible
Very nice park with more than enough room for everyone. The park is well maintained and clean, lots of areas for lunches, barbecues and parties. If being around people isn't your thing than there are lots of quiet walking trails that make a person forget they are in a city. All around nice park to spend a couple hours at and enjoy your time outdoors.
This park has lots of space to spread out, lots of trees, and sidewalks. The down side is they need more benches, tables, trash cans through out the park. The restrooms are on 1 side of the park so if you are on the other side, you have to walk quite a ways or even drive for them. It does seem to be kept up well, not much liter and restrooms do work.
This was a nice and tranquil park. There was so much room and space to come with friends, family, or a date. I loved having a picnic here because the sunset was nice and it feels good knowing families and friends use this park to play, celebrate, and practice any sport. If I'm in the area and want to have a picnic or work out, then I'd come here.
Whenever I'm ahead of schedule for anything in the area, that's usually my first option. If you enjoy being outside, you'll love it.
Playground
They have multiple sections of the park where the children can find a playground and have at it!!!
Restrooms
Plenty of areas in the park with restrooms, can't say that about the whole city.
This is a great park with ample amount of space and very less crowd as compared to the Memorial and other parks in the city. It is ideal for a picnic with friends and family. The parking is not a problem.. you can park next to your picnic tables which is very convenient when carrying multiple items to the park e.g. bikes, bbq stuff, games etc
Two pickleball courts along with three tennis courts. Bright lights for playing through the night but be aware they will shut off automatically around 10PM. The pickleball courts may get crowded but if people queue up and allow up to four new paddles to get on next it works out well to allow for more even playing time for everybody.
Beautiful park with plenty of shade. We arrived early and left early as well. Parking wasn't an issue for us as it wasn't crowded but I could imagine it getting hard to park on a busy day. It was odd that so many bathrooms were locked up, all things considered but again, it wasn't crowded and that was only a minor inconvenience.
Wow if your lucky like me you will spot some wildlife :) just keep your distance lol Also if your looking for a peaceful scenic park this is your place to be :) plenty parking on different areas of park ...so explore different sides the park is so huge.. also relatively safe park occasionally I see police making rounds .
We live nearby and utilize the park, at least weekly. It's a great place to walk, ride bikes, play, picnic, whatever. They have great sports facilities, an animal display, duck pond, War memorial, numerous play areas. And if you don't mind climbing the barriers, the old golf course is a truly delightful place to explore.
For families or coworkers parties, excellent, kids friendly enviroment. Bring tour own toys, table games and music. Two sinks with tap water a huge grill and a preparation table. Clean restrooms. Check weather, it could be very hot. Reserve for $125.00 and get your money refund when you let the place as you get it.
Came out here to hike the Langham creek trail. Only did a 4 mile loop. This place is HUGE. The park is amazing! Plenty of pick nick tables, grills, trash cans, restrooms, playgrounds, sports fields, pavilions, and a section that has some rescue animals for observation. Great place for some weekend family fun!
Pros: Amazing views! My gf and I come to this park routinely to bike ride and it never fails to disappoint. There are tons of different areas to picnic, work out, bile ride and general outdoor activities. Cons: could use some light when it gets a bit darker! Beware!!! Tons of mosquitoes after 6 or at dusk!
I would have given it a 5-star rating except the fields are in poor shape for soccer. Two-thirds of the field has almost no grass or dead grass or bare dirt and the other third may have a little bit of grass here in there but the fields are very worn out. There are softball fields picnic tables Galore
My sister had a gender reveal party when we arrived there was another party at the gazebo she rented. They should have someone drive by and monitor the area when situations like this come up. You cant call anyone because I assume the office is closed. Other then that hiccup the park is nice and clean.
Awesome park with occasional deer sighting! Great place for large parties and gathering. A favorite for Soccer players and fans. Well cared for park. Please let's leave it as clean as we find it. Hats off to the operators and the staff to keep this place operating and maintaining year after year.
Really enjoyable park to just release all the pent up energy would recommend, if you don’t wanna run into the occasional drunk/addict in the park would avoid the back not dangerous but if you feel uneasy and don’t understand how some people cope also the forest tends to have this certain vibrancy
Great places to picnic and there's even a small zoo for little ones. Lots of trees and wooded areas. Quite dog friendly too. Everything is free. Plenty of trails and parking too. Soccer fields could really use some big improvements. Traffic is pretty bad inside the park during soccer events.
Have visited this park from ad early as I can remember. The animals are great, kind, though it does hurt to see them caged up. The playground is always fun, and you can often see baseball games/tournaments happening in the evening if you’re in need of some excitement. Always a lively area
This park is really underrated, specially during covid-19. I have abandoned memorial park :) Pros: Plenty choices on trails, not crowded at all for afterwork hours, easy parking, complete workout sets, sport playgrounds, cute animals, and .... Cons: currently all restrooms are closed.
Clean place. There is copious of tension now days though. It is chilled, but it depends on what kind of day you go. The lots are preset for a better experience.
Dog-friendliness
6 feet leash. Pick after it.
Picnic area
For a good time for performance and family time.
Love this park. Lots of space to walk, free tennis courts, picnic stations, soccer field and a shelter for disabled/injured animals. You can see anything between exotic birds and buffalos there! Definitely a great place for kids of all age. It does get flooded sometimes, though
Beautiful park with lots of interconnected roafs and paths. Great place to go for a walk or find a nice spot to sit and have lunch. The trails in the area tend to get muddy quickly due to the park being in a floodplain so avoid the wooded dirt trails especially after a rain.
Love it here, the park is huge and have different sides that can access from different entrances. The other side used to have animals but when we went there again, there were none. Some slides were old and rusty. Still would go for a walk or for the kids to play outside
Family-friendly, pet-friendly park space with plenty of parking and multi-use pavilions and trails. The main trail is a 2 mile loop with restrooms in two locations. This park often floods after massive rains so check with the park to see if all areas are available.
The park is big, but it needs more attention from those who handle it, looks sloppy or poorly maintained, they don’t turn on the lights on the courts all the time, The grass looks sloppy, I believe they open the restroom only in the weekend. It could be way better.
Good park with lots of space to set up and have a good time. On the weekend you will see a lot of families doing exactly that, but there’s usually still a lot of space! There are soccer fields, baseball fields, and a lot of space for the kids and adults to run.
I love this park I have been to this park so many times when u was younger there are birds and aninals you can look at the restrooms are kinda dirty but overall I love this park.
Playground
There are swings slides and a big looking triangle that is red.
The way this cockatoo put on a show for us by mocking, "hello", "I Love You" and it added a lil cat call whistle as we walked away... had us entertained for at least 20 minutes! He's even plotting for his escape by trying to unscrew the bolts on his cage.
You can walk, run, bike, picnic, yoga, or drive up to the greener and isolated area of the park. It's very spacey and has enough covers, restrooms, benches, picnic tables. They keep on the length of the grass and it appears to be neat, quiet, and friendly
There are horse riding trails . Lots of picnic tables and grills . Lots of shade spots . Plus there is a wild life habit a mile into the park . Has donkeys, mini horses ,goats and beautiful birds . Great family place. Free parking and free entry .
They have place almost all the birds and parrots inside so we weren’t able to see them I believe because of the cold weather , but kids were happy seeing the ducks ! It’s a beautiful big park where u can also practice tennis …
Its the largest dog park we have found in the area. They have dog shower areas to clean them up after also, which is a huge plus. The ponds were irresistible to my dogs, so be prepared if it rained for muddy but super happy puppies
We come here for select ball tournaments. Decent fields, lots of parking, lots of trees, decently maintained restrooms, birds, donkeys and little horses, nature to look at, tables, benches.....it has a variety of things to do.
Amazing spot .. you can park your car and take a long walk or find a spot to BBQ .. family area .. clean restrooms .. huge lands for playing soccer .. i would suggest this to everyone .. especially with this lovely weather !
It's a big, nice, clean, beautiful park, with massive open areas for you and your family! Great to go have a good time, and best of all good social distancing from others on this Corona times. Stay safe! …
Beautiful park. Visited on Memorial Day to honor my father who served in the Korean War and all those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice. There was a beautiful ceremony. We also visited the owls and the caracara.
Back then, they had a lot of animals before the storm. Now, I just see 2 Donkeys, and I'm not talking about the Dems. Few birds in a sanctuary for rehab. It's neat what they do. Good place for a stroll or exercise.
Very nice park! We went to a monthly truck show there at the end of the month on Sunday and it was very nice. Very big park with plenty trees and areas to run, picnic and just hang out and have fun! Beautiful park!
Such a beautiful and peaceful park, had such a great time with family and friends here. I recommend this place for good family fun ❤️
Restrooms
Very Clean
Dog-friendliness
Spacious Area for pets
The bathrooms at the softball field were disgusting. Two of the stalls were out of order, and it was filthy. I've been going to that park for decades and have never seen the restroom in that condition.
I LOVE this park! Very clean. Luckily my stepsons bench still remains. He died on a soccer field there. Thank you, for keeping up the great work and not allowing graffiti to disrespect our loved ones.
Huge and very well organized area. Access and parking are free, you havr tons of trails, Pic nic sopra, bbqs, playgrounds, baseball and soccer courts. Great area to spend a day with tour kids
If you're looking for a great playground, this is not the park for you. This park is great for walks, hikes, rollerblading, biking, and kite flying, however. It feels safe and is kept clean.
Great place for family gatherings! Lots of room for any activities. Trees close enough for hammocks. They have built in flame grills make sure to bring your carbon. Good time at the park.
Very muddy place, little parking, no concession stands, and they only use porter potty’s. A place so big that attracts large tournaments should have better accommodations for the public!
My grands love coming here to see a few animals and play at the park
Playground
Kids love to climb
Picnic area
Many families enjoying the picnic grounds on the weekends
“Rachel B” Thank you so much You are so good. Service was excellent. Rachel made conversation and made my dining experience one i will not forget! food was delicious i will be back!
I took the kiddos there on Thursday. It was a beautiful day and had fun with the animals. The birds were dancing for us. The donkeys would come close to the fence. We had a blast.
Not the best pictures but it is one of the best park in Houston it reminds me of a park with a petting zoo it’s has tennis baseball soccer track restroom bbq pits sitting areas
First time here to see my grandson play. Plenty of park for kids to play. I enjoyed the bird area and walking areas.
Restrooms
They are clean and replenished with paper.
Excellent place to spend a pleasant day with the family. If you prefer to skate, bike, walk, play soccer this great. You can also take a book and enjoy your reading and nature
Even though there was an event on Sunday we were able to find a nice picnic area in the shade and not close to others. I'll be going back when it is cooler to do more trails.
Very nice large park with many things to do including various soccer fields, track and tennis courts. A few playgrounds and enough benches. Always nice as long as the day is.
I've been coming to this park since I was a child! It looks even more beautiful now! I like how clean it is. It's a huge park too. It's fun and nice to walk or run as well!
All softball fields are in terrible condition and the remaining facilities such as batting cages are in dangerous conditions with no protective netting or screens. Beware.!
A huge park with a long trail to jog. It has a park area for kids, and can picnic. It has an area with not many people for you to park your car and chill under the tree.
It's a great place for Family. We have all been many times. I'm not sure if they still have the animals anymore or not.
Picnic area
They are more than sufficient.
Huge park. Lots of areas to explore. Plenty of bathrooms that are well stocked. Playground area is nice. The is a small animal sanctuary with some pigs and donkeys.
We enjoyed our first visit. It was especially nice to see lots of birds in Wildlife Habitat. There are athletic fields, picnic tables and paved paths for walking.
Love exploring the loads of winding hiking trails. There's also wide open spaces for picnicking, relaxing & covered pavilions for gatherings.
Beautiful spacious place in Houston for a picnic and a hike ( lots of mosquitoes in the wooded trails in April but still a very nice walk)
A soccer landmark! Here for Easter Tournament. Wonderful place for soccer tournament, as long as it doesn't rain. Then, it's a swim meet.
Nice open park , great place for playing outdoor games. It has multiple fields for soccer, football, baseball, as well as tennis court.
Pretty dang nice. Plenty to do and lots of places to sit. Only complaint is that one of the slides was broken with no caution tape.
Why do you tell people it's open, when all the gates are locked? Christmas eve, conveniently locks the gates. F U PUBLIC SEVERANT.
Decently kept fields. Very minimal concessions. At least you can bring your own cooler and whatnot. Parking usually not a problem
The park is always clean and enjoyable. Plenty of room to walk and have a picnic without being in another group's personal space.
The park was great today but all the restrooms were closed or filthy!
Restrooms
All the restrooms I went to were locked.
I always visit the birds up there and some of the other animals if there are any. It's very nice and peaceful most of the time
It is a wonder place to have baby shower, parties, outdoor events etc. Just make sure to register your event first. …
My family and I came to this park and is super big ,they have restroom wich is very important and it's a very clean park.
They have live animals you can’t touch but they can come very close and precious the talking parrot says “I love you”
Verry relaxing place to come to come to and enjoy nature. They also have a small free zoo if you want to call it that
This is our favourite park in Houston by far!! Very unique and has lots of pine trees, grills and trails for biking.
I just went there for a birthday and this park is really nice. It's big and clean. Several pavillions for events.
Enjoyed the aviary and duck pond here. A warning before you go: the parrots have somehow learned to wolf whistle.
Bad experience in the park with park manager kicking my kid out the soccer field their were their playing soccer
Beautiful park for my afternoon walks with security. Great landscapes if you want to take pictures of nature.
Great food trucks and vendors are never far away it there are places to eat and get drinks from too. Love it!
