If you're like me and tired of asking your significant other to rub your feet every few days then you need to heard to Bergen Spa. It is Swamy's my go to for a self care Sunday. I always go here to get an hour foot massage. You can set an appointment over the phone but I always come at a time when it's slow and they always take care of me. It doesn't matter who I get that day, I always get the best foot massages, sometimes I even fall asleep. They play tranquil music, have chairs that recline back, use warm towels to wipe your feet down and give great massages. I think it's affordable at $42 dollars so I always budget to go at least twice a month. I've never gotten a back rub from there before today but it actually was pretty good and made me feel super relaxed. The only thing I wish is that the reception away was a little further away from the massage area because while you are relaxing is can be hard when you're hearing the phone ring or people coming in and out of the store to make appointments. Other than that it's a great place and I always come back.

My boyfriend and I got 60m massages here, we both left feeling it was the worst we’d ever had. I was told at the front after that both masseuses were “new”; it was truly as if they’d never given massages before. No technique and missing training on basic details. Constant bone on bone instead of muscles, and I had to remind my masseuse that it was a full body massage (he spent at least 50 minutes on just my back, barely any time for the rest of my body). We should have pushed for a refund. The free 2-minute massage I get at my nail salon is genuinely better than this one. Also didn’t mind this, but we had booked our reservation a week prior (with written confirmations from them) for a couples massage and when we got there they didn’t have us in their notebook. We didn’t mind splitting up into separate rooms since it was the only way they could squeeze us in, but in the context of everything else felt worth calling out.

Agree with reviewer Peter T. Based on my experience in May 2021. Just as Peter said, “The ambiance was great. Nice dim lighting and very clean, but the quality of the “rub” or massage just wasn’t of IT.” I am giving them three stars to give the business a benefit of my doubt. I went with a friend and we were both seen on time, very pleased with the vibe of professionalism. She was happy with her massage, but I was really dissatisfied. Might be one bad apple? Specifically - the masseuse moved over my joints in a way that seemed borderline problematic - if you could call it a technique, I’ve never had any other masseur do that. There were also significant gaps in symmetry, so what was done to one arm was not done to the other- like she’d work on my hand a little on the left side and then never reach my hand on the right side.

I was excited to try this place based on the positive reviews. On the plus side, the facility was clean and the prices seem low. However, the massage itself was so uncomfortable I had to ask my masseuse to stop what he was doing several times, including rubbing my coccyx, resting his hand on my buttocks, grinding his thumb into my jugular, and sticking his fingers inside my ears. At that point, I got up and left even though the time wasn’t up yet. Then he followed me out and hovered until I gave him a tip. Overall, incredibly stressful experience.

Just left this place and it was amazing! Scheduled a massage in celebration of my 30th birthday. My husband and I got the 60 min back 30 min feet treatment and were able to have two beds in the same room. The spa was clean and practicing safety measures. We felt comfortable the whole time. I wish we would have asked for the names of the two ladies who gave us our service because they were awesome. Perfect amount of pressure and they got every knot out. We will definitely be coming back! Pay with cash and plan to bring a good tip!

Just had my second visit to Bergen Spa. It’s incredibly clean and relaxing and I’ve never had to wait to get brought back for an appointment. This time I requested female masseuses for my boyfriend and I after work. Mine was fantastic.. she checked in with me to make sure the pressure was good and did an amazing and thorough job. My boyfriend said his was fantastic as well. This morning I woke up with a terrible tension headache from neck pain and now I feel like a new woman. I will definitely be returning again soon!! Thank you!

Don’t understand the good reviews. The massage was ok, nothing to write home about. However, the front desk’s attitude was absolutely revolting/appalling. They had an incredibly condescending attitude and were unfriendly. They also only advertised their cash only prices on their wall and will notify you of their higher prices for card payments only after you go up to pay at the front. Beware if you intend to make card payments. They seem to share masseuses with the Relaxation Garden around the block.

Alright, I don’t know if there’s a difference between a massage and a rub but I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for a massage. The ambiance was great. Nice dim lighting and very clean, but the quality of the “rub” or massage just wasn’t of IT. The masseuse felt uninvolved and uninterested in the “rub”. Her technique was redundant and she’s didn’t feel as if she was trying to identify and alleviate my points of tension. All in all I wouldn’t recommend and I won’t be coming back.

Great value service!! I do recommend you book before you go as they get very busy. They have a clean and restful setup. Could the curtains close a little better ? Sure. Does every single masseuse give awesome back rubs, mostly. I encourage you to be vocal and ask for special focus on what ails you and adjust pressure as you go. They don’t use sented oils (in case you’re looking for aromatherapy)

The massage (back rub) was great and the price worth it, but the front desk guy was rude. I am not native English speaker, and looks like he was as well. When I arrived he asked me about my appointment type/time, but it was not clear and I asked him to repeat, and after he rolled his eyes and answered me rudely. Please teach your front desk stuff how to work with customers

LOVE LOVE LOVE. One of my favorite Boerum Hill establishments. The massages are always great. I’m obsessed and recommend to anyone who will listen. I take friends and out of town guests. Both locations are Comfortable and peaceful. Staff is efficient and professional. Great prices. After passing this place for years, I know frequent every 4-6wks. LOVE!

I had a fantastic experience here. The spa is clean and is such a calming environment. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. My masseuse was incredible and made me feel so relaxed. He kept checking in with me about the pressure/intensity which I appreciated. I would definitely come back here again, one of the best massages I’ve ever had.

I called to book an appointment and they send you to voice mail. Then someone texts me asking me what massages I want. Then when I took a minute to reply they text me 'Hon?' First of if your a business make sure your answer your phone. 2nd DO NOT CALL ME HON! That is extremely unprofessional. I'm glad I didn't go there and I never will.

My favorite massage spot in Brooklyn! They're open until 10, but I've arrived for an hour massage at 9:15/9:30 and they're always accommodating. Depending how late you go, they sometimes only take cash (there's an ATM on site), so bring cash just in case (or pay the double ATM fee if you're ballin' like that)

Foot massage was bad. Basically a foot rub and no pressure no matter how many times I requested a reflexology foot massage. All he did was put a ton of lotion on an rubbed the feet for 45 mins. Not worth it. Back massage was slightly better but again did not focus on areas requested. Would mot recommend.

Amazing experience every time. The skill of their masseuses are just astonishing. I always end up more relaxed than I’ve ever been after each session and sleep better that same night than I have in years. This may not be heaven, but it sure feels damn close. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

YOU MUST GO! 30 minute back massage is not only affordable but extremely thorough. They really know their stuff and it isn’t just a standard back rub. I’ve been multiple times and every massage is the best money I’ve ever spent. Joy in particular is great but all the masseuses are fantastic.

I usually have a great experience here but recently experienced a massage that left me in pain for days. When asked to go lighter, the woman didn’t understand English but pretended she understood what I said. They also expected a tip afterwards, despite the negative experience.

This is my go to spot if I’m looking for some quick relief that is affordable. I haven’t been disappointed yet! Now if you’re looking for a luxurious spa experience, this might not be the place for you. However, they do provide a calming ambience. I highly recommend it!

I had booked an hour massage and 30 minute feet reflexology. Both were wonderful and exactly what I needed. The masseuse listened to the pressure I had asked for and I didn’t need to ask twice. The price can’t be beat. I will return.
