have been resisting properly repairing my leaking FLAT ( the kiss of death when it comes to roof designs) rooftop deck for a number of rainy seasons given the complexity of the flagstone surface and all of the extensive exterior architectural detail that adjoins my deck and defines my home . Consequently, I have been using "patchwork solutions" for the last 3 years to try to mitigate the problem. Despite Steve Radenbaugh's (the owner of Biltwell) sage advice to repair the repair the roof properly and completely, I continued to ignore reality. With this year's So California rains, I simply had no choice but to confront my leaky roof. I called Biltwell Roofing and Steve promptly come over for a professional evaluation. Steve recommended a reasonable plan to address my roof leak permanently, if there is such a thing when it comes to a flat roof. His wonderful administrative team of Lupe and Tina ordered supplies and scheduled the job in short order. His team then promptly demolished the old roofing materials, demonstrated to me how the previous roofing job was done correctly, and moved forward with a plan to use extensive flashing, caulking where necessary, and proper tar paper with subsequent layers of roof concrete The Biltwell team is HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL, EXTREMELY EXPERIENCED, respectful and courteous, and thorough--they don;t cut corners to save a few pennies! Like true professionals, the team cleans up the job site at the end of a day's work on a multi day project. Before applying the final surface coat on the roof, Guillermo water tested the new roof just to be sure and not surprisingly, NO WATER LEAKS!! So many roofing contractors fulfill the stereotype of shoddy work and unreliable assessments. Biltwell is the complete opposite! I couldn't be more pleased with the knowledge and workmanship of the entire Biltwell team, and I can highly recommend them without exception for any type of roofing job! Thanks Steve!

We really needed the repair work from the time we bought the house 4 years ago. Finally had the money. Bilt-Well was not the least nor the most expensive company we met. They were, however, the most thorough in their report and estimate on the work we were investigating. They actually gave us three separate estimates for each of our roofing issues. We have two flat sections separated by a pitched middle section and also gutters. They were happy to do the estimates separately to give us the most options for our plan. This was in early Feb. then the apocalypse hit. We were on hold till July. They gave us the same price they estimated in February without blinking an eye even though materials prices went up. At the end of the day they were correct about almost all of the estimates. That said they also gave us a “what if” scenario, including possible costs, in case of..... seriously, they kept their word on that to. (4 plywood pieces needed to be replaced, which we were prepared for in any case). I would use them again and will gladly recommend them to my close and dear friends.

California Fair Plan was threatening to cancel my 100-year old grandmother's fire insurance plan on Mandeville Canyon unless I made some necessary roof repairs or replaced the roof. Since the house was originally built in 1950, it will most likely be torn down and developed by the next owner. Investing $30k in a new roof on a house which will be eventually torn down after my grandmother passes on was a hard pill to swallow, not to mention her in-home care costs are already through the roof (pun-intended). Two other roofing companies told me I needed to replace the entire roof at a cost of $28 - $35k. I explained the situation to Bilt-Well and they were able to come out and make the necessary repairs to the roof for the insurance company to renew her policy for a fraction of the cost of a new roof. I recently used Bilt Well Roofing Company for a repair of a patch on my roof and I was extremely impressed with their service. The technician arrived on time and assessed the damage promptly. They explained the necessary repairs in a clear and concise manner, and provided a fair and reasonable estimate. We had another roofer come out and quoted $3,650 for the patch work and I called Bilt -Well to see if that was reasonable and they immediately told me that the quote was way too high. They came out and fixed it for $2K. The repair was completed quickly and efficiently, and the technician cleaned up the work area before leaving. Called Steve at Built-Well roofing to cover my existing arbors which another roofer had reneged on and left me in the lurch. Where others had said it would be a problem they were like no problem at all, love that! Additionally they had thought they were only doing the one arbor when they were suppose to do 2, a miscommunication somehow. Thankfully they honored the price they had quoted me even though they had to buy more material and additional labor, WOW! that's a first. Steve the owner was great and went above and beyond to ensure this roof was done in a timely manner knowing I had an event planned that required its completion by a certain date. The workers were professional, respectful and did a great job. Very happy will definitely use them again if the need arises.

From first contact I was greeted with professional, friendly personnel. Considering how very busy they are/were with our unusual winter that was a plus from the start. The gentlemen who came to inspect & gave the estimate were very thorough & patient when explaining everything. After a not unreasonable delay (it continued to rain) the crew was here & completed the repairs in one morning. The inspection indicated that there are probably 2 more years before the roof will need to be replaced unlike the company who placed the tarp (at an outrageous price) & was pressuring me to replace it immediately. After more than three months of trying to get Bilt-Well to our job site it became apparent that it was a monumental task for them to arrive to La Cañada Flintridge (no more than 15 minutes away from their yard). Our last and most recent interaction involves Nadia Casildo and "Philip" but again, in three months of toying with me, my client, and my company's time these were just two pawns in their game. I had a great experience with this company. I remembered them from the tv show "Dirty Jobs" with Mike Rowe. I called them to get a free estimate. They were able to send someone out the next day. The person they sent out made sure the estimate was going to be accurate by calling to verify with the billing department. I booked them right away and they started the job about a week later. It only took them 3 days to install a brand new roof. They were able to show me tons of different roof colors. I will recommend them to my friends and family!

You never have to worry about honesty, professionalism and getting the job done correctly. My parents are in their 90’s. They couldn’t go up on the roof to check out what the problems were that they were being told by a contractor. Come to find out the problem was minimal and not thousands of dollars as described. This is a great company to work with if 1) you don't mind being overcharged by a factor of 3 2) don't mind dealing with their poor response time, un-returned calls and inter-office communication skills 3) don't mind spending 2 weeks finding stray roofing nails in your driveway Read your contract carefully and don't trust the salesman when he says "oh, we'll take good care of it all" and don't expect a firm start date, they just show up and start whenever they feel like it and may not have everything they need when they arrive. It was a few years ago that I had, for insurance purposes, to change my wood shingle roof with the faux wood shingle from Da Vinci. Not many roofing companies know how to do this, but Bilt Well has been amazing. They deliver an excellent service, very fast. Nothing was damaged, not even one small plant in my big garden in Sherman Oaks! They came with a large team and I was very satisfied. A few years, with a few heavy rain showers later I can say they have done the perfect job on all 3 dwellings on my property. I warmly recommend them!

Leaky window repair. The men did a great job. They were on time and worked hard to repair the garage and the window. We give them a 10! That was before it rained! The window kept leaking after they came back twice and then in the last rain I called them twice and they never responded. There was a leak in the garage and they fixed part of it but said it was only leaking where they fixed it but the next rain it leaked in three other places along the edge of the stairs. They never got back to us. They weren't inexpensive either.

I needed some work done on a tile roof. I spoke to two other roofing companies who were reluctant to guarantee their work because of the type of tiles. Steve from Biltwell correctly identified my roof tiles as "Maxitile" and helped us find tiles to use for the work which his crew were able to complete in a morning. Everyone at Biltwell from the ladies on the phone, Steve in coming to my house to provide an estimate and his crew were knowledgeable, professional and very personable in working with us to fix our roof.

Bilt-Well was a terrific partner. Their work is high-quality. The team was hard working and friendly. We had multiple neighbors comment on how accommodating they were when trucks or equipment needed to be moved. The kick-off took a little while to get going. I had to call multiple times to get answers on the contract before signing. But once everything was set, the start date was set and the work happened in less days than I had anticipated. I recommend these folks and would/will work with them again.

Awesome service from this company! They came out as scheduled, performed work as agreed, and cleaned up everything afterwards. Workers were polite and focused. Hard to find companies who do what they say in todays economy! They did roof repairs on a larger older roof that was previously leaking. Had a huge rain storm next day and no more leaks! Management and technicians are skilled and professional at what they do. They showed up, evaluated the condition and offered temporary and permanent fix. What was a persistent leak that one had fixed, these folks figured it out and fixed it in less than 1 hr at a nominal cost. Lupe the manager won my trust. If you go with this company take every step to ensure the city inspects their work because they will try to avoid regulations to cut corners. And dont expect any timely response once he sees you’re actually inspecting their work after catching them. Prices are competitive because the quality is not.

I called Bilt-Well roofing for a quote on a residential home, and within minutes they were calling me back and setting up a same day appointment. Steve came out within the hour and was very professional. He looked everything over and even gave me some great advice in case we ever do experience any leaks. I used Bilt-Well Roofing for two separate jobs on historic structures. First was a 1924 flat roof garage with rigid insulation under a white roof surface with perimeter tile copping. The other was a two story 1930 Spanish style duplex. Both turned out beautiful in appearance and didn’t leak during last winters heavy rains. Highly recommended.

Did not complete the work on time or to code. Destroyed a big peach tree in the front yard to make installation more convenient then refused to pay more than 25% replacement cost. Improper furnace venting. Improper vent height. Had to have them back out to complete. Took forever for them to respond to their mistakes. Would NOT use again.

When I needed a roofer, Bilt Well Roofing came highly recommended. They were professional, competent and on time. Bilt Well made all the necessary repairs to stop my roof from leaking. When it came time to add gutters to my house, there was no other roofer that I would trust other than Bilt Well Roofing.

Took way to long and then did not deliver as agreed. Trampled my roses. Gave me the runaround and then made excuse after excuse. Now they won't return my calls.. I checked too late. Bilt-well worked on our 100-year old historic home that had a laundry list of challenges ranging from no easy access and roof steepness and our fussiness and not damaging the weeping mortar joint throughout the exterior. Bottom line, they overcame all these challenges and did a really nice job
