Located in Sydney outskirts some 45-60 min drive from Sydney CBD, this place is perfect spot that blows the mind. Entry fee in a vehicle is $12. Excelent place to recreate and enjoy the weekend. Lots of stuffs to do with family and friends views of the lake and Mt Colah are beautiful. Things like recreational Fishing kayaking boating hiking broadwalk sight seeing BBQ soccer frisbee running bushwalking cycling around beautiful scenery bring your own picnic basket or enjoy brunch at the cafe. Even boating of any form if you are into those. A good size children playground with lots of activities for them to do. Lots of space and ample facilities like parking space and BBQ areas toilets, undercover seating and tables but does fill up quick during public holidays. Does get very warm during the peak summer days so use the trees or provided man made shades and keep yourself well hydrated if your on the walk around tue park. Just be super careful on the drive to and from this spot from entry points as we have some very narrow roads and hidden corners with just as many idote drivers with the big vehicles with the jet skies thinking they own the road.
Great place for a day out. Google maps shows a longer route if you are in the Hornsby area. There is a nearer route via Mt Colah. The place is a valley and has back waters, and next to water there are picnic areas with few BBQ, children's play area, and a lot of open space. There is a cafe to grab some food. You can bring in your own paddle boats or kayaks, there is a paid peddle boat as well. Board walk is awesome when the water level is high. It gets a bit busy over weekends. Overall a great place to hang out for a day. Even a quick visit can take up to two hours to explore the place. Wheel chair friendly area for accessibility. Toilets are accessible too and maintenance is average.
Great destination for relaxing fun by the water. You can hire a paddle boat or bring your own kayak for calm paddling in not very deep water. Nice little play area for the children with equipment, fully fenced. Picnic areas and plenty of parking. There are walking tracks and the information centre are next door to the cafe to help get you started. Cafe is decent, coffee is strong (all milks available), and the food selection is good. (Don't expect any vegan food aside from hot chips.) Icecream available at the cafe too and there's plenty of seating inside and out. Cafe staff are lovely.
Picnics, bushwalks, fishing, boating and family outdoor activities- this place does it all. There are BBQ areas for birthday parties, with lots of grassy areas for kids to run around. Bushwalking trails meander along all the tributaries, with wooden board walks hovering above the muddy flats. If you look carefully, you can see tiny crabs with either purple or orange claws. You can fish anywhere along the river, and there is even a fish cleaning station. A boat ramp allows you to launch your boat into the Hawkesbury River
Such a beautiful, Tranquil, relaxing and popular place by the water. No play area with equipment for children but they are building one which appeared to be well under way and likely finished in the coming months. Lots of grassed areas to play ball games, have a picnic, you can also go on a trail walking or even throw in a kayak and go for a paddle which seemed to be very popular. I look forward to returning when there is less restrictions and having a barbecue in one of the sheltered picnic areas.
️ Absolutely mesmerized by the stunning picturesque scenery at Bobbin Head National Parks! The natural beauty is simply breathtaking, and there's an abundance of activities to enjoy. From tranquil spots to sit and savor delicious meals to the exciting option of boat hires, this place has it all! And let's not forget the fantastic playground, perfect for keeping the little ones entertained. A perfect family-friendly destination where nature meets fun!
Great spot on Cowan Creek $12 park entry if you don't have a pass . Nice walks either at the end of the car park along a boardwalk over the creek or behind the marina following the creek for a long scenic waterside walk. Cafe at Bobbin Inn over the bridge or at the marina. There's also Apple Tree Bay a short drive away with another extensive walk along the main waterway once you cross the foot bridge. There are a number of picnic and BBQ areas also. Enjoy.
Best National Park for families. Plenty coffee shops provided good food. 2 information centers with beautiful heritage buildings. Best view you can get from riverside, many choice of walk tracks. A huge kids sand play ground. Fish group at Marina. Feeding fish is so much fun! Fish food sold at nearby coffee shop. Many little cute crabs in one of the walking track near kids play ground. Such a beautiful place. Great for picnic. Friends gethering exc.
The place is wonderful for autumn season, foggy and cool climate make this place like a wonderland, the beautiful lake with a eye-catching spectacular of tress and hills, but in summer, it is not a so attractive as the level of water is low, hot, not green and full of mosquitoes and flies, take net if you have baby . There is fire band all around the area and only can use electric stove, the entrance is 12 $ but I believe it is not worth it.
As they add more man-made structures there, I would less like this place. There used to be a quiet peaceful place but now is very crowded with damaged grass, too many boats, too many noisy load people and worst of all people who still think fishing is a sport! The playground is filled with sand which has been a horrible idea. Every time my child plays in there, all of his body and clothes cover with sand. Overall I don't enjoy it there.
If you're looking to relax and chill out, this is the place ! There are ample parking spots and with a $12 day pass, you can spend the weekend with family over here. There are plenty of cubicles where you can sit and have food. Must try - You can rent a paddle boat for $25 (half hour)/$40 per hour.
Playground
Nice playground for kids
Picnic area
Ample spots with cubicles for a picnic with family and friends
Truely a beautiful spot. Gorgeous views, very calm and almost felt like I wasn't in Sydney but on holiday. There are barbeque facilities and if you don't bring food there are cafes and restaurants. There are also multiple walks, and the ability to go fishing and bring your boat. They also provide kayaks for hire to kayak along th water. It only costs $12 for entry and a day of parking. It's a great spot for everyone.
Very nice area for a picnic. Isn’t too crowded as some of the other places but it’s quite a drive too. Definitely recommend going on one of the hiking trails. Very nice since it among the water. Not many choice for cafe or food (there’s like two) so recommend bringing your own food or try the bbq! The day parking rate is $12 for each car. There’s also boat hire and kayak like thing so pretty fun for the family.
Great place for fishing. Back up your car and cast a line right from the boot. $12 entry fee during the day, it's free at night. A huge fenced-off playground is amazing for the kids. Blue Spider climber, swings tunnels, slides, balance beams and sand pits galore. Look carefully and you might find some mini statues of animals hidden throughout the playground.
An amazing place for a picnic on a sunny day! There’s a $12 entry fee that’s valid for a whole day. There are multiple benches and picnic spots around the reserve with plenty of shade and some great spots around for recreational fishing as well. If you’re planning on getting a drone, be sure to get a permit from the park first.
Beautiful day outing for families with young kids. The playground is one of the best I've been to along the north shore (balancing area using natural logs, a natural log house, slide, multiple swings). There is a nice mangrove walk where you can see tiny crabs as well! Also a big grassy area for picnics and kicking a ball
Magnificent place for a day out. The best thing is it's just beside the water. Lots of places to sit and picnic. There is a big sitting area which needs to be booked for a private function from NPWS. Restrooms are clean and are closer to the carpark near the bridge. Options for kayaking as well. Lots of BBQ hotplates.
No words to explain about this beautiful place. The way we are entering into the picnic spot is awesome with full of tress and we saw a waterfall from the hill. The entry fee to the park is $12 Aud. They have play area for kids and exciting peddle boat rides about half an hour rides with $20 Aud through the nature.
Attended the Jabulani Trail Run at Bobbin Head. What an amazing location. Inside the larger Ka-RIng-Gai National Park Bobbin Head is a lovely spot for a day trip from Sydney. Beautiful water views and lots and lots of walking trails that will keep you busy out in nature all day. Well worth the visit.
Such a beautiful place for a weekend out. It is a bit far (depending on from where you are coming from in Sydney) but worth the drive. Plenty of parking, boating, electric bbq options and clean toilets. It also has a small park for the kids on the right side of bridge. We will be going there again.
Its a wonderful picnic place, such serenity, away from the sounds of the city. It looks encircled with mountains with walking tracks. Be it a large family or a couple get together, it serves quite well. I loved the place and it will always be in top pics for my random outings. Cheers !!
This is one of my favourite places to get away.It is an amazing drive down the hill with alot of bends. Great scenery while aso being a great place for a picnic with the family. There are also restaurants for some piece of mind. They offer paddle boats to hire if you want to have fun.
I have never ever added a review before, but I must congratulate and thank Michelle Holder at Bobbin Head . She went the extra mile to give me great service in phone calls and emails to help solve a problem on an error on my number plate for my new car. Thanks for your help Michelle.
Good place for a day out . Mangroves rainforest food quiet and calm place. Boating available ..$25 per boat ..food at the available rest not so great , no great veg options and bit pricier for the portions.
Playground
Good play area

Lot of spots.
Bobbin head is hardly a 30 minutes drive from Epping, NSW. The drive itself is pretty beautiful. Once you reach Bobbin head, you will be welcomed with a fantastic landscape. I recommend you bring your picnic to this place, spend a day, relax, walk around, kayak maybe(?).
Its like a little corner of heaven. Secluded in the hills. Plenty of parking, bar b ques, restrooms. They dont hv much food options though. But pretty good place to spend a good qhole day with family. Hire a paddle boat. Kids hv fully fenced play area and big sand pit.
Nice and quiet place with picnic facilities spread on both sides of the road. Great bushwalks and a beautiful boardwalk through the mangroves. The Bobbin head road is a nice twisty from Turramurra to Asquith popular with bikers. There’s patchy Telstra reception here.
Wonderful small part of Ku-ring-gai national park with waterways, near a marina. Marina cafe does a great lunch and a refreshing drink after hiking. Has handy bathrooms. Great place to relax and unwind. Waterways lovely for kayaking and hiking.
Infrastructure and facilities is not the best, but the river view is great and you can rent the rowboats/kayaks, pedal boats and swan pedal boats. Also good for having fish and chips / seafood cuisine at the local cafe and do a bit of fishing.
It's a nice national park but there aren't many places that you can park the car and explore around for example like lanecove. The picnic ground is nice and wide with many tables and a few gas bbq. There is water and bins also available.
Best place to visit. A very nice place with a beautiful scenery for tracking… just look at the beautiful photo with sky reflection in the water.. breath taking … loved it It was 3 hours track. We took so many pictures. Not tiring…
Nice big park, a number of walking trails, great for family bbq and picnic. Great kayaking or paddle boarding. Lovely marina area, very clean and well kept park.
Picnic area
Feel like you’re out of town without the travel!
Near the boat ramp Its amazing view and fishing spot. Toilets near this spot are without soap??really? But overall good experience but get very busy about 10am and starts getting busy by 8am which means less parking spots …

One of the best place to visit for canoeing, picnic and bush walk. Fishing also allowed in the river. Bistro and cafe is really busy and please allow extra time when you order the food. Lot of Parking available.
Located in Sydney outskirts, this place is perfect for a picnic. With ample parking space and BBQ areas, it offers a peaceful environment to relax amidst nature. The views of the lake and Mt Colah are beautiful.
Lovely peaceful and lively park with plenty of space for visitors for park cars and picnic. There is even a marina with a cafe. There was a couple of old Art Deco buildings, one of which is the visitor centre.
Great facilities, barbecues, toilets and a new playground that has a safety fence. Lots of shade and plenty of wildlife. Car parking is pretty good. Drive in is good but the road in needs lots of repairs.
Amazing spot for a family picnic. Placed neatly between hills and trees with a gentle creek flowing down the valley. A pleasant walking trail leads to a gorgeous lookout. Highly recommended for families.

Beautiful place to visit! 40 mins from north west Sydney. $12 entry fee per car. Has lots picnic tables, BBQs, toilets and nice playground. Also there's Cafe and you can canoeing and paddling.
Lovely bushwalk in National Park all year long. You can do fishing and some water activities too. Try local cafe, and visit Information center to get more advise regarding flora and fauna.
We took our kayaks and paddled up the creek. The water clear and clean. There were amazing rock formations, native spring blossoms in the bush and lots of birds. A wonderful day
Great location with beautiful hikes, lovely flora, ancient indigenous art, native wildlife, helpful friendly volunteers, picnic spots and breathtaking lookouts …

It is a great picnic spot with a lake surrounding it. mountains and forest look fantastic. You can breathe in fresh cool air. $12 per day Fish spot. Toilet facility.
The kids had a lot of fun in the playground and pedal boating. Lots of open spaces, could do with another 1-2 eating places as the waterside bistro is not very good
If just want to find a picnic area in kuring-gai area to spend your weekend this place is pretty worth to visit. Don't forget to bring your kayak to enjoy the view.
Wonderful place to hangout with family and/or friends. If you feel energetic can go for short or lengthy hike; or else just enjoy homemade or restro food and relax.
My favourite location in the wider Sydney Metro area. Fish, walk, kayak, sail, swim, picnic, BBQ, dine in, dine out, tea and coffee. Amazing landscape and history.
Nice parkland area with BBQ, toilets, cafe, shelters and ramps to launch kayaks etc. If you do not have an annual NSW parks pass it's a $12 day entry fee.
Some roadworks going on down there but good to see upkeep going on. Wasn't overly busy which was great. Weather was very nice, so it was a lovely day out.
Perfect place for a day out. lots of picnic tables and there's one cafe as well. you can hire a paddle boat and there's one beautiful walking trail.
A good place for barbecue and boating. A paddle boat trip is usually for 45 mins. There are clean washrooms available along with a cafe nearby.

Excellent spot for a picnic, lots of benches and boothes, and the playground area and easy water access for fishing can't be beat.
Such a great park by the water. It has got lovely Parkland, amenities such as toilets, kids play areas, marina, boat hire...etc.
Love this place! So many options of what to do. Rug up in winter as the sun falls over the hill early and then it gets freezing
Beautiful picnic spot beautiful trek with scenery. I just got few mosquito bites on legs and arms but the place is mesmerising.
Great place for a picnic just outside Sydney, also a lots of great bushwalk trails, truely one of our greatest national parks
It is a beautiful track with moderate hiking. Ensure having enough water in your backpack when hitting the road in summer.
A great family venue with lots to do including walking trails, swimming, hiking, cafe, Marina, boardwalk and paddle boats.
Beautiful place for picnic , walking tracks, heaps of wildlife and plenty of large goana's walking around . Lovely day out
Just serene and beautiful place to visit and relax. Fishing, BBQ, boating and park makes it a perfect family picnic place
Bobbin Head was such a peaceful place. Right on the water. Picnic tables and a cafe. Tourist information office as well.
Bobbin Head is a beautiful hideaway from the busy life of Sydney metro. A nice place for a picnic, jogging or cycling.
Nice place. close to water. The peddle boat is way too expensive and not worth it. It does not even go straight....
Beautiful spot for a picnic, trail walk or paddle in a canoe. Good amount of parking but fills up on busy days.
Lovely place for brunch and an easy bushwalk to the creek. There is also an awesome playground for kids.
