Extremely disappointed with lack of customer service. What should have been a special and joyous day celebrating a birthday with family, ended up being a unpleasant experience. We booked a big table for 16 people and noticed that on the menu it stated kids eat free all day on Wednesday and Sundays. When I asked our waitress she called the manager and I was told that it only applies on Wednesday, even though it clearly states Sundays as well. They then called another senior manager and he explained the same thing. At this point things were becoming very uncomfortable and the manager's approach, tone and way in which he handled the situation was extremely unprofessional. I then asked how he could remedy the situation because this was false advertising and everyone at the table was feeling uncomfortable. His gesture to remedy the situation was to offer free coffee's to everyone. It was a summer's day and 25 degrees outside and no one wanted coffee. He said he would think about it and come back to me, which he never did. He never even bothered to check up on us again and only saw him when we left. Instead he sent the more junior manager to offer us a round of drinks. I will commend this manager (Kwanda) as he was extremely friendly, took the time to sit and talk to me. If it was not for him, I may have left the restaurant much earlier. When it came to the food, it was also hit and miss. The chimichurri steak promo was delicious but the rest of the table was not that great. One of the other steaks needed to be sent back because it was a poor cut of meat and not well cooked. The kids ribs portion sizes was inconsistent and needed to be send back. It is really sad as the restaurant is on a beautiful location with a big lawn and lovely play area. The whole experience was extremely disappointing and neither I, nor the rest of the family will be recommending anyone to Bossa Meerendal.

Thought we'd treat ourselves this Christmas, booked the buffet well in advance; R6500 for the 10 of us excluding 10% graduity billable at the end of the meal and excluding overpriced drinks. The food was utterly tasteless; tough lamb, dry fish, salty chicken, canned mushroom sauce used on the chicken, sad starters, and the trifle looked gross by the time we wanted to dish dessert...But that's nothing, the food ran out - not everything on the menu was available...and the food was COLD. When it was taken up with the manager, he asked if he should go to the shop and buy us chocolate mousse? We received zero service from our waitress, our table saw her maybe 3 times very briefly - our table hardly got cleared and looked a disaster at the end of it. When I asked them to justify the R780 graduity for NO service, I was told "well it is Christmas". We appreciate and understand that, but if it's a problem then please don't make your service available on Christmas day. The fact that you (by choice) decided to be open and work on Christmas day gives you no right to rip people off and feel entitled to it. Highly, HIGHLY disappointing experience, extremely poorly organised! We feel robbed by this establishment and that entitled cheeky attitude that came with it is next level disgraceful. Never again! Here I am, on a long drive to Bossa Meerendal...out on what seems to be the countryside of Cape Town. The parking seemed perfect, however my timing was terrible. A fair amount of parking slots available, can't give you exact amounts but there were enough for a family of 10 if they all came individual vehicles. Now my small vehicle isn't made for the rockey and muddy roads of Meerendal, however the fact that there were bountiful parking slots available made it all the while. Not only were the bays waiting for me, but Tsepo's handsome smile and welcoming attitude that greeted me as I entered Bossa's Winelands Meerendal. 10 outta 10 would park here again.

Unfortunately my worst experience at any Bossa ever. Waited for an hour and a half for our food. We wanted to leave when our food arrived. As we waited we ordered onion rings to have something to eat while waiting, seriously totally oily. I had a Wrap with pork etc and chips. The chips was oily and I did not even eat it. The wrap was really great. I do not think they were to busy as most tables inside was empty. Only saw 2 long tables with people and another 4 seater table. We asked 4 times for our food. I believe it was a Manager came over after an hour and he said sorry he heard we were waiting long but well another half an hour passed. That is not how I know Bossa. Sorry for the bad review but I think we were all at our table really at the point of leaving as we discussed "are we leaving guys, let's pay for the drinks and go". My daughter was at the point to ask if our food was already prepared as we wanted to leave when they brought our plates with food.

This was our second time visiting, and again, it was far from disappointing. The food was incredible, reasonably priced at the R75 Monday burger special and was packed with flavour. The chips were incredibly crispy and flavourful with good seasoning. Our waiter, Bukho was super humerus, patient and helpful. She checked up on us multiple times to make sure we were okay and or if we needed more drinks/desert/food. The wine cellar was enormous and eye appealing. The playground was amazing, big and had many activities to do! In the future, we will be returning due to the amazing route to get here, the staff and the food! Thank you Bossa!

It was our 35th wedding anniversary. We booked a table for 2 for 13h00. At arrival we were allocate a table and promised that a waiter will soon see to us. 20 minutes later, still no waiter. We were coincidentally rescued by a passing waiter who sent a waiter to serve us. 35 minutes later were served. My steak was perfect, but my wife's ribs was unfortunately cold served on a nice warm plate. My wife's reheated arrived when I was nearly half way through my meal. We really expected much better given the ' juicy' advert of the place. The experience really placed a degree of a damper on our special day because we didn't feel like staying the prolonged time initially intended. I took my wife elsewhere for her favourite cake and dessert. The atmosphere however was more like in the advert though.

I newly moved into the neighbourhood, so was my first visit here. Wanted some nice breakfast after a trail walk. The lady waiter was extremely unfriendly. Basically dumped my food on the table (which was also not cleaned). Barely spoke to me. Did not come to ask if my food was good or if I needed anything else. I had to ask her a few times for the bill (which I had to get up and go pay in front in the end). She never even responded to me and was very unfriendly. I have never been treated so ‘unwanted’ in a restaurant before, like this one. I did mention this to the manager, who advised that he will address it with her. He was professional and friendly. Please Bossa, I would like to become a regular customer, but will not return if the waiters’ attitude towards customers don’t change.

Checked the menu and it stated the corkage is R40. Phoned regarding the corkage and they said yes R40. We brought our own champagne in and was then told no this is not allowed . We then asked if the champagne is on the menu and it was not . The “manager” refused to see our point of view and customer service was terrible all around. They then stated only meerendals wine was allowed but this was not communicated on the website or on the phone. Chose this venue as they have a corkage. Had it been a bottle they sell I would have completely understand. The table was ordering drinks. The bottle was not going to cause any loss to them. It was just to make a toast. Terrible customer service . Still in shock .

Our waiter was so unprofessional got our order incorrectly and on top of it complained about how her management treats them. Her point of conversation was so ghetto and the way she spoke was completely unacceptable in her Xhosa language that myself and my partner did not understand anything not that we even looked mixed race. I could see their filthy kitchen from the table I was sitting at. I completely lost my appetite to see the manner in which food was mishandled. I've been at quite a few of your establishments and out of all of them meerendal estate bossa is extremely the worst where service and professionalism is concerned. Great place to go to if you have kids able to play on a jungle gym. Generous portions - even for the kids. Lunch specials are fantastic value for money and kids under 12 eat free on certain days of the week! Atmosphere is beautiful - loved sitting outside under the umbrellas while our kids played. There is also a big grass patch for the younger kids to entertain themselves while parents catch up and have their meal. Zulu was very efficient and friendly in his service delivery, explanations of the menu options and patience in waiting for our kids to make a decision on food and drinks.

Excellent food and service. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the beers fresh. It's located on a wine farm that is well incorporated. So the wine selection is excellent and the venue very pretty. Offroae. Very muddy in winter. Do not park on the grass when wet. Look for harder ground without mud. Be careful with lower cars as there are dips and ditches to traverse.

Great venue, great staff. The only serious issue I had was that we booked out work team's Christmas lunch here. Booking was done in advance, but upon arrival it seems that they were not ready for us yet. Square 4 seat tables with wide legs were put next to each other, and it was expected that 3 people sit on one side per two tables. BUT with these wide legs in the middle, this was totally impractical, as there was no leg room for this person, and his plate wobbled being placed over two table. We felt a bit like sardines, with too little space to sit, eat and be sociable comfortably. Hope this will not happen again.

Something has changed. We haven't been in some time and we were shocked at how the standard has dropped since our last visit. Visiting this particular branch use to be a great night out. We had dinner on a Thursday night. The place was empty compared to usual. The food quality was disappointing and not to their usual standard. Service was slow considering the place was empty and staff are of low standard (not trained adequately, low energy, unprofessional, attention to detail is lacking). Even the manager, didn't have the skill or presence of an experienced manager. I suspect a chance of ownership. So disappointed.

This is one of the best Bossa locations for a night out - unlike Burgandy or Canal Walk it isn't very loud, so conversation is quite pleasant. On a wine farm in Durbanville, the view as you drive in is spectacular. The staff are friendly, and you'll appreciate the venue itself as you walk to your table. Feels like a "fancy" Bossa. Quite cool. Food is - as always - very good. However, overall it is definetly the location that makes this Bossa my favorite.

18 October 2023 --- I ordered a chicken salad (the grilled breast option). After 45 minutes I received a welded green salad with a few sprinkles of chicken bits and half a block of brie cheese. I was so hungry that I had to eat out of my husband's plate. His 400 grams of fish was still cold in the middle. We left very disappointed. This is supposed to be our go to restaurant as we visit Meerendal on a very regular basis. Waiter was more interested in talking to his colleagues than attending to his customers.

We made a booking in advance, but when we got there, we weren't on the booking list. Nevertheless, they quickly helped us and seated us outside next to the fireplace. They offered blankets and made sure we were happy. The Meerendal Merlo was really nice. We had the Monday Burger Specials, and everyone agreed it was super yummy. What I like about the restaurant the most is that you're on a wine farm, so you have these beautiful views and the vibe of drinking a glass of wine and being social, while enjoying the food of Bossa. I highly recommend going. Take note they are mostly fully booked on weekends, so call early in the week.

We were a family group of 10 last night. Shocking service! We had to wait more than 20 minutes to get a drinks order to start. Two of the three steaks were dreadful. An overcooked, dry rump. One was pure gristle and sent back. A simple order of fish and chips was completely forgotten...it never arrived. Kiddies pizzas were fine. The restaurant was not busy so its hard to understand why the staff were under pressure. The waiter seemed overwhelmed and had no support. I've eaten at Bergundy and Woodbridge Island branches and had excellent service and food. It was very disappointing

I really enjoy eating at this place and even take aways. The ambience is usually buzzling but romantic. The staff are very friendly and patient with their customers. I had the veggie burger, chicken nachos , veggie wrap and salads and all dishes were so tasty! The first time I ordered a wrap it was very oily but the chef immediately took the dish back and made a new one. I would definitely recommend this place for a fun dinner with loads of wine!

Probably the worst service we ever had at any restaurant. We ordered Cream Cheese Poppers for starters. We waited more than 30 minutes and the starters weren't anywhere in sight. We decided to then place our order for main courses in the meantime. We were 3 people. My main course arrived before the starters, and no food arrived for my wife and son. We complained to the manager and the waiter without any results. Then the starters arrived but still no main course for my wife and son. I finished my meal and still no food for the rest. Then my wife's steak arrived, but still no food for my son. Terrible service.

We had a few VERY VERY bad experiences at Bossa tonight. Getting the order wrong was the least of it, then a waiter touches my daughter in an overly familiar fashion while making a very racist comment. Then the ladies toilets, absolutely disgusting: no toilet paper, wet floors from who knows what and a used sanitary pad in plain view. It was an absolute embarrassment for me with my Canadian family. We will never be back. The manager did attend to the wrong order and the waiter, but the evening was spoiled.

I loved my food (chicken & brie with sweet potato fries), and I will definitely go back for the food! My family and I sat outside, and it was lovely. The vibe was good and we enjoyed the evening. But my little brother in particular got extremely hungry, so that part was not nice. But all in all, a great experience!

I’ve never held up my hand and begged for service the way I have here on multiple occasions. The waiters seem as though they have no care in the world, it’s very easily some of the worst service I’ve seen. Stopped by at midday and was impressed by the lunch menu on offer. The reduced portion size is ideal and prices are quite reasonable for what you get. Unfortunately the eggs were overcooked, and the presentation was very plain; but otherwise all rather pleasant.

The food, from the burgers, schnitzels and steak was amazing and then the views and play area where the kids played cricket and soccer was a blast for all the kids - but Sam's efforts made the day!!! Great service on top of everything

This Bossa is really different to others. Awesome spacious seating and service is great. The food is well cooked and waiters are on points. Amazing vibe and art work. The entrance is also well built I must say. They even have nice blankets for you for cold winter nights.

This family friendly restaurant has it all. The food is great,the vibe is relaxing and such welcoming staff who makes sure you are well looked after. Come for a park run around the famous Meerendal estate and then unwind at Bossa for a delicious brekkie to replenish. You won't regret it

Went for a breakfast/brunch coffee meeting. Service was good and very friendly. Decor & atmosphere are great. Restaurant is enormous, lots of seats - looks like a fantastic place to come watch the game with a bunch of friends.

Food and atmosphere was great but the service was very poor. Firstly someone else's milkshakes arrived at our table, then our pizza's we ordered went to another table, to top it all of we recieved someone else's bill on our table. I don't think they know there table numbers.

Stunning place with Sunday pizza and cocktail specials. Gorgeous views comforting outside area. Sophisticated inside area for more formal gatherings. Wine from the neighbouring wine farm is also a plus. Always have a nice time there.

A must visit! Gorgeous views. The food is wonderful and portions are so large. Great value for money. The staff are friendly & professional. We were at a large table, nothing was forgotten, we waited for nothing. It was so impressive. Will be back for sure!

Horrible service, had breakfast. Asked for my egg to be well done. Waiter came around, gave my food, and said here is your hard egg. Very cocky, just for the egg to be watery. Toast hard...and food cold. Not great...

The manager kept checking on us to see if we were still enjoying the experience of the restaurant. We were well taken care of. I really enjoyed the Leffe beer. Overall the food, drinks and service was good.

What can I say???arrived at 10am and finally got food after 11am.... Coffee ordered on arrival....and were told Parkrun orders...almost take preference...
