absolutely horrible my daughter was kicked out because she was getting a product and accidently knocked a few products down then a lady told her to stop mucking up the display even though my daughter kindly picked all of the mess up and restocked the shelf. then she and her friends hadn't finished shopping and my daughter went to get some lolly's and the lady said to her very rudely" Out now girls pay and get out of this store" the rudest behaviour I have ever heard next time this girl should be more careful our family is full of lawyers 10 to be exact and we will not be afraid to sue this girl was blonde and did not have a smile on her face she just looked sour. my daughter was very upset afterwards and she wasn't even aloud to finish her shopping and she had to go to her 5 hour training session without having any snacks. the most horrible and disgusting behaviour I have ever heard of do not recommend going to this store horrible behaviour of staff and none look even a little bit interested in what they are doing I am not even going to give them one star since a staff member rudely kicked my daughter out of this store for no reason never go there and if you do I feel so sorry for you. I will be ringing the manger of this store to get to the bottom of who kicked my daughter out and why otherwise I will be suing

If I could give a zero star I would. I have attended this IGA only when I am driving by for convenience maybe once every few months over the few years I have lived here. Every. Single. Time. I have received such poor service at the registers. I watch them serve the older or middle aged customers with a little more respect at the most asking how they are or if they want a bag, giving a smile. They then go on to serve me, a 22 year old female, not saying a word just scanning my stuff, not even telling me my total amount, if I want a bag or cash or card they just stand and put it through as eftpos. I am often the one AS THE CUSTOMER to say hi how are you and they do not even respond. I am only writing this due to the fact it is every single time I come in and it’s honestly disgusting as I tend to come across as very friendly and am always smiling. I am genuinely appalled at the way they serve young people opposed to older. I have family and friends who live local, and are of similar age to myself and said they get the same treatment. This is disgusting and I honestly don’t recommend shopping here unless you are desperate.

"PROFITS BEFORE HEALTH & SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS" We've lived in the Essendon area for many years and so do many of our family members and friends. On occasions we shop at IGA Essendon, this morning I popped in to buy Croissants X 3 Pack. On paying, the teller noticed the bag was ripped opened and part of a croissant was out of the bag. The teller asked me to exchange it for another pack. Teller than called over what seemed to be a 'store manager' and advised him this pack of croissants should be returned to the original baker, only to be told, in front of me and other shoppers 'it will be placed back on the shelf in a new bag.' As I was leaving the IGA, I've tried talking to this arrogant manager about the Health & Safety of such action, at which he completely ignored me? He's "profit before health of others" suggests that this sort of carelessness and neglect seem to be a common occurrence in Boundy's SUPA IGA ESSENDON. For the health sake of my family and others, this unhealthy act will be reported to the food and safety regulator. Stay tuned!

I had very bad experience tonight shopping here 10/06/2023 at 6:20 pm The items i bought they wanna charge me $62 but when i ask for the receipt, i can see he changed his face but i didn't put to much atention. When i got in the car i saw $ -36.52 so he try to rip me off. I can proof you with the receipt. The things i bought are: Tic Tac orange ( 3.20) Bag reuse ( 0.15 ) Nifti all purpose ×2 ( 10.00 ) Bananas 1.48 kg ( 6:23 ) Meat & raw white large ( 10.99 ) Kangaroo bone ( 5.99 ) For all this he whant to charge me 62 bucks. I went isnide and i told him why you wanna charge me 62 dollars and he said ohhh sorry i said it wrong, yes but what about the receipt why is -36.52 No answer back. And i left and never more would come back. I would attached the receipt but i'm hidding the name and sale id of the operator.

I have been buying groceries and meat for my parents for a while now and it is always a great experience to visit the store. You are greeted with a hello and a chat. There is a family, cosy feel to this store which you don't get at the larger supermarkets. This is the go to place to find products which you can't find at the larger supermarkets and with a different type of variety of products as well. The meat section is excellent, selling the best and reasonably priced meat, is well run , fully stocked with wonderful customer service.

Give me anxiety shop here, is been years I live in essendon but one specific older woman who have grey hair only one of them have grey hair who work there as a cashier so rude, maybe she don’t like me or anything? But I never did anything wrong always polite say thank you have a good day she never responded back but when she with other customer she responded back to them and smile at them ? But when I got served by other cashier they responded back to me when I say thank you have a good day and smile at me

Worst overcooked chicken ever. I've known two managers who worked there that both said they would never buy their meat there, because all their specials have come from others IGAs that couldn't sell it. Just quoting managers Mind you. My friend that bought a chicken that was green underneath.

For a small supermarket it everything you need. It’s like the old days walking down to your local milk bar but with a lot more. Well priced and easy to get to just remember to stay away during school drop off and pickup times otherwise you’ll spend half the time trying to get there and back.

I shop there out of convenience but it has most things at reasonable prices. The meat selection is great as well as the deli. The younger staff could learn some manners and stop talking to there friends and serve the customers ( quite a common experience) but otherwise good parking.

Nice and friendly staff, good old fashioned supermarket service with a smile. However, they need to better manage their "use-by dates" on food products. A few too many times I've got back home with my groceries and discovered something I just bought was past its use-by date.

Used to go here all the time as was convenient on the way home from work, however, not using it anymore as staff there are quite rude and not overly friendly. Great meat section however so I'll miss that but that quality alone is not enough to bring me back in...

Great local shopping...only problem parking.. parents from school next door use parking which isnt good at all ..shouldnt b able to do this ...if im shopping at the IGA i should have first choice...

Nice relaxed supermarket. Staff are nice. Plenty of car parks. When I was in there a customer with partial-blindness was carefully helped by one of the staff there; which was really impressive!

Well stocked IGA. Narrow isles which makes passing difficult. Deli is stocked well with hot chickens and roasted potatoes, carrots and pumpkins. Parking at rear or on the street at the front.

This is the only supermarket where you can't buy 500g of mince meat. They sell it in 310g-350 so you have to buy more....most recipes call for 500g. Also at $20/kg it's not cheap at all.

Great local supermarket. I am from another area however my mum is a local and I take her shopping there. Great variety of food. The best staff around they are lovely. Highly recommended.

Great local independent supermarket. One of the larger IGA stores, with a great deli and meat department. Always have good local fresh bread and decent produce section too.

Went for the first time yesterday. Very nice and tidy supermarket. Good mix of brands. They had some good specials on as well. Friendly staff. No wait at the checkout.

First time visiting picked up couple items, well stocked and fresh items, a few different varieties compared to major coles/ woolworths.

Convenient place to shop, pricing is good and service is good. Signage in store could be better as it is difficult to find some items.

Its amazing how much they can shelve in such limited space, I much prefer to do my shopping there than Coles or Woolworths.
