Bowerbird Vintage is the best shop you could ask for if your looking to do some vintage shopping. I had been hoping to visit a shop like this on my trip to Australia and feel so lucky that I stopped in. I find that a lot of time with other vintage shops I’m just hoping to find one small drop of water in the desert of tiny-sized, overpriced, boring, dinghy, chaotic, one-note selections. This shop was like a cool gallon of water! The quality of the clothing and jewelery, the taste of the selection, the variety of decades and the welcoming owner made it such a treat to shop here. The owner was refreshingly genuine when showing other items you would be interested in based of what you were asking about. It wasn’t so much a suggestion to buy more, but an invitation to discover the other items you may overlook or styling you may not have thought of when shopping. She has such a fun and organized way of styling her displays that it makes it so easy to get sucked in to every case and so hard to choose just one thing. It was delightfully overwhelming to say the least. The clothing wasn’t just all one decade and each decade was represented with great variety and style. I enjoyed how the vintage selections could be worn modern styling and the modern selections could be blended well with vintage styling. It is definitely worth making a trip if your not in the area. You don’t have to deal with hectic parking, there is other very well-curated antique stores if that’s your fancy and also a cafe in the same building for others to kill time while you shop.

Wow! Bowerbird never disappoints! Coming here is always a highlight on my vintage shopping sprees when visiting Sydney. This place is special and the quality is outstanding. Some of my favourite pieces i own i have snapped up here.
