I find this school and the Teresa association do not work hand n hand . If they like u u. An do nothing wrong but if young moms have issues adapting to life exorcism at 14 and 15 they add more areas in them with this finding. Great idea to help students but they also give student a reason to drop out and not complete school. If students have been in the hospital or better take care of their sick children and adults we get to take the time off work and do so without taking her children to the doctors or anything like that but now when they’re in the school the teaching them that you need to run to the doctors for every little thing that is wrong with your child from a mother of five that’s not the case I do not run to the doctors every time my child is sick but I do keep them away from other kids so they cannot get it was well as well as if you have a child was struggling with a learning disability and they need that one on one time in the computer room or whatever the case may be with a talking to counselors there they’re always marked absent which goes against the funding so then they get kicked off so once again leaving stress on a young mom for dangerous things to happen luckily my daughter has a great support team but some teen moms aren’t that lucky . There should be different option then this school
I went to this school almost 20 years ago I graduated here with my son attending my graduation. He recently graduated also. This school gave me the supportive community I really needed when I entered the world of motherhood. There was so many supportive teachers and staff who helped me throughout my time there. A few times After late nights with the baby, I fell asleep on the library couch and I felt safe enough to do that there. There was a daycare on site where my son went, which made drop offs and pick ups less stressful. I made friends here and we would have sleep overs with our kids, go out to lunch with them and travel the mall together. It made being a teen mom more enjoyable and because my friends were in the same stage of life I rarely felt left out. It made a major impact in my life as a young mom, one I won’t ever forget. My friends and I graduated and went on to college with more skills than we would have trying to maintain our lives at a normal highschool.
Braemar School is still around over 20 years later as a place of education for pregnant and parenting teens 13-20 yrs old. Run by Terra Association, without a safe, caring environment, I would not have finished my academic upgrading and went onto university to complete a bachelor degree. Studying at my own pace, with competent teachers to help guide me were essential to my success. I saw too many young women drop out early. Don't be that girl, persevere!!
