There are reviews here that are completely false and misleading. Some 20 years ago, I was asked by the principal (at a different school) 'If you wouldn't send your own children here, then why not? What would you do to make changes so that you WOULD want to send your own children to this school'? That statement/question has stuck in my head for over 20 years of my teaching career. I can honestly say, with no influence from anyone, that I would do anything to get my own kids in to Brentwood. I would not have sent my kids to my former workplace. Building a positive school culture takes many, many years and Brentwood has worked hard to achieve this. I know all the staff - I have been there for a long time, and I can say that they go 'over and above' to ensure students get the best education and experience in the classroom. The opportunities they have are far superior to any around the area in my opinion. The teachers are not there 'hanging out' until their retirement date - Not that I am suggesting that other schools in the area are. They are active, fully committed, motived, enthusiastic, embrace new technologies and keep up to date with advancements in technology - Everything I would want my OWN kids to experience, hence I wanted my own kids to attend there - Not because of convenience by any means whatsoever, but because I can see hard working staff that are completely dedicated to outcomes of a high standard. I would honestly say that if I thought any differently than above, I would express this. Not just because I work there - I am working with teachers and leadership that are dynamic, enthusiastic and dedicated. In fact, I believe we run rings around private schools. If I and MANY other staff members are prepared to send their own kids to this school, then you know it's good. My daughter loves the place, and is very happy. That means a lot to me, because someone happy at the school is in a far better position to learn than someone who is unhappy. The investment in quality teachers, resources and technology systems is nothing like I have ever experienced. Teachers at this school compared to MANY other schools I have worked at are very dedicated, hard working, and go 'above and beyond' what I would expect to be normal. Brentwood is a well run, managed school with opportunities. I send my own children here - That says enough about how impressed I am with the quality of teaching and learning that takes place.

As a Brentwood Student I am writing to express my concerns regarding the current state of affairs at our school, specifically concerning the teaching staff and overall management. Firstly, the low attendance rate of some teachers(Mr Shan Mr Barry Ms Allan Mr Van Ms green Mr Korlos......)has become a noticeable issue. Regular teacher absences disrupt the continuity of classroom learning and hinder students' educational progress. It is crucial for teachers to maintain consistent attendance to provide students with the guidance and support they need. Furthermore, the hiring of inexperienced teachers who are assigned advanced topics within their first two weeks is a matter of serious concern. Effective teaching requires not only subject knowledge but also the experience to convey complex ideas in an understandable manner. Placing new teachers in charge of critical topics may negatively impact the learning experience for students.(Ms Ringrose Mr Shah ) Assigning recently graduated interns to teach seniors, especially considering the challenges faced by the majority of the year 11-12 students in their academic performance, raises concerns about the quality of education. It is essential to match the experience level of teachers with the complexity of the subjects and the grade level they are instructing.(Ms Wooley Ms green ......) Moreover, the apparent lack of support and guidance for both new and experienced teachers from the school management team is disheartening. The ineffective handling of discipline issues, exacerbated by a lack of assistance in resolving student behavioral problems, creates an environment where teachers struggle to maintain control in the classroom. In conclusion, the combination of low teacher attendance, inexperienced educators assigned to critical roles, and inadequate support from the school management team is impacting the overall quality of education provided at our school. I urge the administration to address these issues promptly to ensure a conducive and effective learning environment for all students.

Was an ex-student here. I had an excellent experience at the school with academia except for when I was bullied and a teacher said it was acceptable behaviour of the 'alpha male' to have gone over the line back when I was in year 8 too (2013) - Graduated in 2017 by the way. Absolute madness haha and still laugh at her to this day - a scum in my books. School needs work on the values it teaches - not just by reading it aloud from paper but from showing behaviours that the kids can learn from. Since 2015-2016, the quality of staff members is questionable. Old staff and teachers that I used to be taught by have been helpful academically. This is the reasoning behind the score of the review. One student, who will not be named for privacy reasons, has been bullied consistently (2016-2018 (present)) with racist remarks thrown at him and with kids bringing his past up to bully him (the 'past' they mention isn't one where he affected anyone but was when he was embarrassed from a teacher from Glen Waverley South Primary school!). The teachers have been oblivious to this - or ignoring it as evident by the lack of response when the targeted student reported past bullying incidents. It is absolutely disgusting and unprofessional that these issues are not handled by the some of the teachers appropriately such that a student could be left traumatised and fearful of attending school. Oh, and it has affected his academic progress negatively. #bringMsVickyForbesback Cheers,

Got paid to give 5 stars JK. Good school overall and I learnt more in 3 terms than I ever have learnt in primary school. Everything is great about this school besides on dirty floors and benches, bubble gum scarred lockers and the random year 12s that come up to you and say some extremely wrong and questionable things. The school depends on the teachers you get and the ones that I currently have are great. I've only been here for a little while and hope things stay the same. Only con is that the school switched to a new network called 'Fortinet' (Which happens to rearrange to be 'Fortnite' REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE). Bad thing about this network is that it doesn't allow gaming platforms like steam or uplay, so at lunch time you can't do what you have been doing for the pass couple terms. *Edit* The school recently got 4.6 million dollars which seems like it was used to only block vpns and get coloured tables. And as said by Drago Fury, classrooms in Brentwood still don't all have working clocks.

I don't understand why Mr.Koros is teaching my math again ., after finishing Year 11 with an irresponsible teacher, it's him again in Year 12. I'm really frustrated. Although his teaching is okay, his attendance is unbelievably low. He often doesn't show up, and I can’t learn anything in his class. It's even worse than Ms Fu, who substituted for him for over ten classes when Mr Koros. Her attendance was excellent, and she taught well; she's also very nice. Also, it's disappointing that the school doesn't assign the experienced Mrs. Zhu to teach Year 12. Instead, they let an irresponsible teacher take on the role. I'm also puzzled why Ms. Allan, with her low attendance, continues to teach Year 12. I can't understand it. It would be better if Mr. Li teaches take Ms Allan Year 12 classes (since she doesn't show up). As a Year 12 student in 2024, I feel very disappointed. I'll probably have to self-study because of Mr. Koros. In summary, good teachers are not teaching year 12 and poorly performing teachers are assigned.

I came to this school at the beginning of year 7, at first the school seemed good, though I was mistaken after a few months. This school allows teacher's to have other priorities which is okay to an extent. But, during my experience I had multiple teachers who had other duties within the school which meant that the teachers were often away. This meant that our class had to deal with casual teachers who could barely speak English fluently with no experience what so ever. I can easily say that I have had more casual teachers than full time teachers in specific subjects. Furthermore, the classrooms smell and are very humid/damp and the school hasn't done anything about it. Most of the classrooms have air-conditioning's which do not work properly. This makes concentrating in class very difficult. Overall this school is overrated as they are not equipped with the correct equipment and are not orgainised. Speaking from experience I would not suggest bringing your child to this school.

It is relatively good, but not exactly the best. Teachers are very welcoming (apart from a select few) and encouraged us to learn in a friendly way. Courtyards are always lively. However it suffers from kids with major drug problems, which is not exactly the school's problem (*cough* LSD incident..). In general the only criticism I can say about the school is that there needs to be more benches under cover, I would have to fight over benches most of the times. And yeah, shout out to B.M.

bike disappearances... pee all over the toilet floors... gum all over the tables... careless teachers... terrible canteen... dirty classrooms... bring back Jols... useless and annoying house politics... rubbish everywhere... weird smells in a lot of places... school is super congested when trying to get around... moldy food all around... Great school, I love it, 5 stars!

Brentwood is a great school. People come from all over, and it’s also home to great teaching staff. Although the school may seem dirty and old, a lot of work has been done to improve facilities and overall cleanliness. Recently, there have been a lot of upgrades and new additions to the school to improve it for students. Here are some photos of the College Library.

Attended from Year 7 in 2001 until the end of Year 10 in 2004 when I was told to vacate for a special school 11.5 km away. Equal opportunity for special needs students needs a big improvement. Still had good times here. I attended my graduating class reunion in 2016 followed by the college’s fiftieth birthday three years later since then.

Your typical state school. Has been fairly well modernized and is still undergoing upgrades. As is typical, traffic peaks around drop off and pickup times are insane. One lolly pop man operates a school crossing. Best avoided unless you need to be there during those times. New shade sails being installed.

School Review The teachers and staff are nice and the students are some of the most chill people I've met. However whenever we have the substitute teachers taking our class they have no knowledge of what they are supposed to teach. 10/10 Would eat again

  • Samuel Willmott

Great school but the lack of Simply Bill by Bill Granger books at the library is saddening. P.S. Would love more Bill Granger recipes at the canteen P.S.S. I'm using my nephews account because I don't understand how to make a google account. -Love, Bill Granger

Brentwood Secondary College is an alright school, however, some of the teachers have a terrible attitude. Even on some occasions, the classrooms smell terrible, if you wish to take your student here, be prepared for some issues with the teachers and canteen.

  • Canoezzz

The school is great with nice teachers and great subject choices but the amount of Bill Granger Books is just absolutely heartbreaking with no books at all available. Overall it's a very good school with a lack of Bill Granger Books.

  • Guy Moore

worst school i have been to yet. drugs are a major issue and the classrooms stink and are of terrible quality. i am in year 9 and there is no support for kids who are struggling and teachers just don't care.

  • Yeet Yeet

Needs more Bill Granger books, the lack is really shocking and noticeable. As soon as I walked in to this school, I noticed the lack of Bill Granger books. Terrifying. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.

  • Falcon

School is pretty dusty, needs a clean up. Moldy food is every where and there is some weird people in it. Staff arent good and the school is mad cooked. Everyone thinks it's good but its cooked

  • adriana brooks

Should invest in some fake grass outside locker bay 11 in the courtyard, people would be able to sit on the grass which will make the canteen and tables less crowded. ps plz clean the tables

  • XxPlague DoctorxX

Teachers did nothing to help bullying besides punishing the victim Filthy bathrooms and desks Stinky classrooms Barely any support for struggling students Canteen is severely overpriced

  • Kpop Sweet Lemon

the teachers are nice. (Not all) some classes are fun. They make learning fun and creative (not all classes.) Also I hated the year 9 book we did. A Monster calls.
