This court is very, very slow indeed but I understand that there are a backlog of cases and some cases absolutely have to take priority over others. Some of the clerks are rude and the judges even more so! I've even had one laugh at my distress during a particularly delicate and sensitive matter. I was too shocked to complain at the time. My documents got lost a couple of times and you really have to pester them to get updates. However, dont give up hope, there are 2 clerks there who are amazing! Michelle and Barnaby went over and above to try and give me as much information as possible. Their patience and understanding was greatly appreciated during this stressful time. I was calling nearly every day (sometimes, twice a day) to resolve my issue and whenever speaking with Michelle or Barnaby they would never show any irritation or annoyance. They simply wanted to help. They are the only reason I have given 2 stars otherwise it would have been 1 star and even thats too much!
Really disappointed with the way telephone calls are handled. Firstly, there is rapid fire recording lasting approximately 2-3 minutes. Then one’s told they are busy so left listening to it ringing for 5 minutes no answer so rang off. Or alternatively on other occasions going through the recording yet again, to be told they are busy, phone later and it cuts off. This is not a free phone service so perhaps one should be informed they are busy before having to listen to recordings. Totally unimpressed with this poor service. I pity anyone with something really urgent. Just a thought.... Seeing so many negative reviews of the court’s extremely bad service. Does anyone there actually read them? If they do, but are completely ignoring people’s concerns then that says it all! Disgraceful!
I submitted 2 claims in January 2023. Both claims were not issued/ processed for at least 3 months. I repeatedly emailed for updates and I got no response so I filed a formal complaint. Following my formal complaint one of the claims was issued. They denied receiving the 2nd claim even if I gave them evidence that the claim was delivered and signed for. I believe that this court wilfully refuses to process claims especially for people who are not represented people of colour and/or people who are marginalised. They had no good reason for their failings and no apology. The manager Lauren was unprofessional and un interested in my complaint. Their complaint procedure is flawed and is fixated on orchestrating a coverup. This is one of the worst courts I have ever seen
Just like everybody else one of the worst services I have ever received and I am contemplating contacting my local MP and councillor because this is absolutely outrageous. I have called on numerous occasions I have phone records to prove it I've been on the phone for almost 4 hours with nobody answering email do not get responded to. This has led me to missing a court date that supposedly they have told me about but have no evidence to prove it on their end I have sent numerous emails asking for a confirmation date to no avail. The only time I managed to get through the lady dismissed me and hanged up the phone. Honestly if anyone knows where we can report this place to I would really appreciate it as this is a disservice to people.

They are the one that advised me to not come . its totally unfair. The person I have a dispute with his an ex tenant that signed a contract that he decided to breach on the same , his a lawyer and I feel the system is protecting me because his a lawyer. I had only unfair experience at bromley county court. it can be issue with tenant or builders, you are always wrong no matter what.
Its hardly surprising the automate introduction on the general number repeats that you have to be nice to their staff and they don't tolerate any form of aggression, given you have to listen to a condescending voice telling you one of their agents will be with you shortly for over an hour, after that the Pope would be abusive. I agree with all the posts they make British Gas look like an exemplar of customer service.......just awful
Disgusting service. Door staff - lovely, polite, friendly. The rest of the place, appalling. Case adjourned on the morning after my parents travelled a 9 hour round trip to be with me, no apology, reasoning or explanation as to why. 3 months wait for next date. Wrong paperwork then sent. The case was reserved to the judge I saw and actually heard my case, then got another judge. Needs serious investigations done.
Like everyone else, lost the will to live trying to get this place to answer the phone. Tried multiple times over several days and at various times of the day. Message (eventually) says you are in a queue but hanging on is waste of time. Last time I tried, hung on for over twenty minutes and still not answered. They are supposed to be public servants but clearly have no idea what that means and don't care either.
Terrible terrible service. They told us to fill in a wrong appeal form N244 when it should be N161 for claimant then took the appeal money. We then reapplied for the appeal for the second time, callled in twice and found out somehow documents have been lost/not received and told us to resend it and wait for another month. What a Joke the justice in this country
I can't express enough how impressed I am with the very personal touch this Bromley team have. They listened carefully to my issue, and were all very helpful and kind. From the front security staff through to the phone handlers, to the back office staff - all of them demonstrated human qualities in an often tense and short-tempered public service arena.
Spent 2 mins listening to an annoying message as I phoned then as it finished with another message after that saying "sorry, lines are busy please calk back later"! !!! WOULD IT NOT MAKE SENSE TO SAY THAT ANNOYING 2 MIN INTRO MESSAGE IF YOUR ON HOLD RATHER THEN WASTING OUR TIME ONLY FOR THE CALL TO END AFTER WAITING FOR NOTHING!!!!
Called at 9.30 am apparently demand is high so i am in a queue....10 minutes later after listening to the dizzying array of forms people may need according to their situation none of it applying to me i am told by ms robot machine that all agents are busy please call again later and promptly cut off.....sounds legit …
Awful, I have rang them more than 500 times over the last 18 months and have only been answered 4 times, I have tried over 200 times in the last two weeks and have still not got through. Considering this court deal with Family matters who ever is responsible need sacking
Cancelled trial date day before the trial due to" not enough judges" depsite having had the date in the diary for over 9 months - have called numerous times to get a new date however 1) cannot get anyone on the phone 2) are not answering email queries
I have been calling from 9am the phone doesn't even ring, just a voice mail about 2 minutes. I have rung more than 20 times today along but no luck. I have not heard anything from the court, as a consequence I have missed a court hearing.
You can't get through on the phone. Its takes them 2 months minimum to respond to your letter. They have sent out other people's personal documents not once but twice to my address. Terrible service. Would never deal with them again!!!!!
Absolutely awful place with non existant customer service! No one answers the phones and they can't use Covid as the excuse as no one answers them anyway! I bet if you had to call the payments line they would answer straight away! …
I have been calling from 9am the phone doesn't even ring. I decided to come down to the court to hopefully get my enquiry answered. Nope that is not possible eithe. I have not heard anything from the court for a order sent on the 7th may
Bailiff collected money owed to us totalling over £500 on 11th August 2023 and to this date (30th September 2023) they have failed to pay us despite numerous promises to do so. Terrible and will be issuing a new claim against the court.
Trying to speak, due to Covid19 limited services so email, no reply, phone everyday no one answer and write letter no reply 2 weeks gone. cannot visit without an appointment so cannot book because no answer over phone, email or letter.
A nightmare trying to get through, 1 hour 26 minutes before an answer. Once answered the member of staff while trying to be helpful, simply didn't know the answers to my questions, including what the delay time was likely to be.

Appalling service. No response to emails and when spoke to a lady on a direct number she refused to check if an order had been granted and redirected me to general enquiries where I've now been on hold for an hour.
they don't know how to answer a phone!!!!!! you have to listen to info for over 2 mins and then it just says that they are busy and for you to call back x then they hang up!!! total joke!

They do not answer the phone very often, nor do they respond to emails as a rule. The public desk is only open for certain issues. This court, like many others, is not fit for purpose.
As with all the complaints the court never answers the phone. They also send the wrong information , information that could result in the loss of our case...the service is horrendous.

Sadly, they don't offer a service at all. Never answer the phone and take weeks to serve documents. This may be entriely down to cost cutting, but remains a fact.

I have tried over 20 times on 15 days and every single time after 1min 58 seconds it simply states that they are busy and please try again later. Useless!
The security people are helpful. There is no one else they've all gone. The court is awful and reflects the judges only a few of whom are of any use.
I went to pick up some forms today. The security man on reception was such a helpful and caring man, he made the whole process less daunting.
I was only put on hold for a few minutes and when I got through the woman I spoke to was extremely helpful and understanding of my situation
Their phone service is a microcosm of the entire justice system: no service, loads of time wasted, and you're being charged all the while.
