Going here was at best an okay experience. I showed up early to put my name down for a table for 6 and let the young girl know that my son was parking the car with his family but when I let the girl know upon my entering she said okay let me get a table ready and walked away. No problem, except she never took my name and when she returned she sat three other parties. Okay, again, no problem, my son and family were not standing beside me. Moments later, the family entered, and we were seated. Our waiter was quick to approach our table to take our drink order. Upon his return, he started to set drinks down and spilled mine on the table, bread plate, and splashed part of me and my clothes. The meal came and it was good. A fresh crisp salad and pepperoni pizza which was nice and hot but VERY greasey and had to be blotted. I only ate 3 bites. Then the bill came. My son paid with his credit card. Upon the return to sign, there were two bills inside. One for $50+ and one for $80+ after letting our waiter know he was apologetic and went to correct the error. It's a good thing my son checked the paperwork. I will say that the waiter was pleasant, kind, and took responsibility for his errors. This is really the only reason I would score a 3 for this review. I would not make this a first option in this area. There are other choices I would check out before giving them another shot.

My experience won't likely make nor break this establishment but it will help me sleep better at night. I've been to the Carmel mountain location several times and don't quite understand why there is always an issue of some kind. Today was just like the rest. I called ahead to order over the phone and per usual was told the length of time to be expected for its completion. I was asked the make and model and color of my vehicle due to picking it up curbside. 40 plus minutes passed and I called back inside wanting to know was it ready and when to expect delivery to my car The person that nonchalantly answered the phone said yes its ready as if she had no clue that it was a curbside order to bring us. I was not pleased with that. I know one should easily pick and choose your battles. I only wanted to stop by get my order without crawling out of my car. My food was eventually brought to me after all just not in the reasonably time expected, and I tipped the younglady that brought it to my car, because I noticed when she arrived for work and I knew she wasn't responsible for taking my order and making me wait. It will definitely be a while before I consider this location again.

Pretty bad experience today. Had to wait about 10min to be seated. After we were seated the people who showed up after us got waited on, the people after them got waited on and then we finally got waited on. Ordered a salad and a pizza to split and a couple beverages. My beverage sat finished at the bar for several minutes, then arrived just before the pizza. I asked about the salad and they went to check on it. It was apparently one of the salads waiting for pickup since before my drink was finished. The pizza tasted good, but the salad tasted bitter and had several bad (pink bacteria) leaves. We never got extra plates and had to use the bread plates. The place is in need of some serious upkeep as well. Our table was chipped and carved on. It we sat inside and many drapes were removed and there was a lot of direct sun on people. Our waitress was also pretty curt with us, and I understand she was busy, but the other people after us she was super nice to introduced herself, did minor chitchat. Not sure if it was because they were older and therefore she was expecting better tips or if she knew them. Overall, I don't think I will be back to this location in the future.

My very first one star review, and this is specific only to delivery. Know that your order will be lowest priority during peak hours. All a delivery driver wants is to get you your meal to you at the time you expect. Of course there are circumstances that arise which can’t be helped, faulty tablet or dispatch..yet drivers can only relay the communication we’re given. If told, “ready in a few minutes” turns into a half hour, we are powerless to advocate on your behalf. Tonight a manager tried to be helpful in a delayed order, and was actually interrupted by the cashier “It’s a third party”. CPK code for disregard. Props to the manager for stepping in to help out, but the front end staff will take their driver grudge out on you, the CPK delivery customer. Before dine in was available, and with staff previous to December, delivery logistics were great. You will probably also receive good service off peak. But restaurants that don’t consider delivery as a service partner (corporates are prone to this) result in a disappointing dine at home experience.
Do not give this location your business. I placed a catering order for one of our clients several days in advanced. I explained that I would not be there as this was for our one of my companies clients and that I needed to pay either online or on the phone, and the lady I spoke said I could call the day of the delivery and make the payment. Keep in mind this was for over $300 worth of food. I called 2 hours before they were supposed to deliver to our clients office and attempted to pay, the person who answered the phone was nice enough but said she couldn't do that. I was then asked to speak to the manager whom she connected me with. The manager refused to let me pay, I asked for his managers phone number and he essentially hung up on me leaving me scrambling to get a backup in place. The manager was beyond rude, talking over me and totally unhelpful. If one of my employees treated someone the way this manager treated me I would fire them on the spot. Please do not patronize this location and take your business elsewhere.
I am (was) generally a fan of the brand, but this particular location is a poorly run disaster. My last 5 trips, ordering my favorite pizza (Thai Chicken), I've literally had 5 different food experiences. It's literally NEVER made the same way. Skimpy sauce sometimes, sometimes skimpy chicken...Friday night was it. My wife ordered take out. I sat down, opened the box, and was shocked. The usually colorful, visually pleasing Thai Chicken pizza was hideous. There was literally no sauce. It was chicken, a little cheese, and all sprouts. A grayish white blob. No sauce, no peanuts, no carrots. I called and talked to the mgr, who offered a refund. It's Monday - still no refund. Will never go back. Done with CPK.

We had to call to order in and the number on their website is for a third party. They messed up the order and the employees at the restaurant claimed it wasn't their fault since it was ordered from a third party. Sorry, but when your only option to order ahead is through a third party it is absolutely your fault. We are trying to support your business through a tough time, so if there is an issue with our order, just fix it please! Mu husband even tipped well when he ordered and now regrets it due to the poor customer service and attitude. Additionally, my $20 pizza was cold and dry, barely any sauce and the cheese had solidified. The appetizers were a soggy mess and they gave us a tiny cup of dipping sauce that wasn't even half full. We will support a small business next time.
Company can’t keep this place together . Last visit , new manager of less than a couple months offered me a gift card after multiple bad visits . Explains of being met at door an asking a question a waiter walking away , waiter eating pizza behind register while making a to to order for this visit . Unfortunately I went back today to hear an see two managers discontent with each other an employees . Disagreement visibly between the two an then one goes on a few minutes later to shaking head at employee who seemed to be working hard making a pizza . Not with a $20 pizza or entree or salad .

Update: Went back for dinner today (about a week after the last time). The experience was equally as great. I had the Rib-eye this time - WOW!! Best steak I've had in many years! *************************************************** First time at this CPK. Great experience!! Kyle, the bartender, waited on us... he rocked!! He has a fabulous attitude and is an awesome waiter! We sat at the counter and watched Brian the manager (so impressed we asked for his name) prep All the meals for the entire restaurant. We've never seen that level of organization anywhere - amazing! The pizza chefs were also incredible... never missing a beat. Overall, this team is a well-oiled machine!
We came to this location after feeling not welcomed on a previous one. Service was great, I wanted to thank the manager directly but was too busy. My child was super happy (she used a gift card and paid for her own meal, at age 8 jeje). Everything was delicious. We were accommodated as requested (for particular medical reason) with no hesitation from the hostes (still don't understand why part of the restaurant remains closed). Anyways, great experience and Kristin was super awesome and kind. My child loved her and says she wants to be back with her...

Went during lunch. Was expecting service to run faster since there wasn't as much people and it seemed to take longer for the food to arrive. I've been in a higher end restaurant that served pizza faster than CPK. I saw a lot of staff and yet my server didn't come as often considering how not busy they were. Can't say they were prepping, I overheard someone say to others there's a lot of them here and to find something to do. I also clearly said i wanted lunch special pizza and pasta and my server didn't hear me and had he told me what i ordered wasn't part of it may have changed my selection. Thankfully the food was good so that's why it's 3 stars.
Delicious as always! I LOVE that they've permanently added the cauliflower crust option to their menu - it's truly amazing. They have such fantastic menu options & everything we've ordered there has been spectacular. They even make a fantastic ribeye, believe it or not. Who knew? I also enjoy their selection of non-alcoholic beverages; it goes far beyond your regular soda or lemonade options & the ones we've tried have all been tasty & refreshing in the summer heat. The staff is friendly, it's a great location, family-friendly, great menu options & the food is delicious. I definitely recommend giving California Pizza Kitchen a try!
This location was extreamly convient and easy to find. As well as continuing on it's pizza making legacy, CPK has started to offer a more wide variety of entree and appitizer menu items. Note: only regular coffee server here (no espresso drinks) Some parts of the menu, in general, are clearly catered to more health conscious individuals. As a rock climber myself the protein salad bowls particularly drew my attention. I was not disappointed with my choice. Jeff was an excellent server, clean and well upkept interior. It also has some nice north eastern views. Thank you all at Carmel Mountain CPK for the great food and service!
The food was alright, we ordered a pizza, salad and salmon. There were also some bread and olive oil with herbs served on the house, which were very delicious! The salmon was over cooked, which made it chewy. The pizza was tasty but we found a small hair on one of the slices. The salad was great. Service was very good. Plenty of parking and we didn’t have to wait to be seated. You might need to bring a jacket as it was very cold inside.

My husband and his friend were at the restaurant today for dinner. The female server who served them in simple words, " very rude and ignorant". First of all she totally ignored them when they got there, after waiting for a table, my husband ordered drinks which did not come until after the dinner, that too after reminding her she replied, "I know". I know.....and that it. Leave alone when my husband excused her for some chilli flakes, she totally ignored it. CPK is very nice restaurant but sometimes the staff makes it a very bad experience for a customer. Thanks for ruining his belated birthday dinner.
I ordered takeout via door dash website. I went in to pick up my order at the time the order confirmation said it would be ready at. When I went in they said it would be 15 minutes, I waited for a while and went in. The food was finally ready the guy started putting the food into the bag and he FORGOT one thing. So I had to remind him and then he was like oh there’s this one laying here so I’ll put in. Anyways we go home and open everything, mind you the cake I ordered came with ice cream and they forgot the ice cream. Anyways it’s a fine place to sit and eat at but the take-out process was an ordeal.
I haven't been here in a while but today reminded me why: 1. It smelled horrible in there. Asked the waitress who said it was the pao chicken pasta dish - it was so potent I could have thrown up. 2. The italian chopped salad was beyond disgusting- a flat salad with no taste. 3. The artichokes dip was frozen. 4. The soup was nasty. How is this place still in business with disgusting food. I left there smelling like a burnt chicken. Never again.

The service was terrible. The waitress was not to be found when needed. When I did see her, she was socializing with 3 other servers instead of working. My food did come out fast. Big plus, but I never got a refill without flagging down random staff. I needed salt and pepper, but she wasn't around to ask for it sooo, random staff again. She never checked to see how the food tasted. The service was supposed to be good, but it was terrible.

I miss the avocado blt ranch pizza they had when I was a kid, but the California club pizza was good. My daughter really enjoyed eating out here, the kids menu had lots of fun activities for us to do as a family, she and her dad had the BBQ chicken pizza. We also shared the Cesar which was very good, it had shaved parmesan over the top . There was a bit of a wait time to be seated and that seemed common while we were there, 15-25mins. The server we had was new,and he was doing his best.

Was waiting for a pickup order pizza was not out yet. I watch the pizza come out and the employee carrying it is talkin talkin talkin with other employees and the one that's doing the takeout is completely distracted by it. I watched three other bags get taken away while I'm standing against the wall and then he's realizes I'm still there. He goes oh here's your order. Like it's nothing. I spoke with the manager and she acted uninterested. Visited on Saturday April 29th at 8 p.m.

My family and I were there last Sunday. We got there at 7PM, waited for 40 minutes to get seated, another 10 minutes before our server asked for our orders AND another 30 minutes before we got our food! We ordered 2 rib eye steaks (medium rare), 1 Hawaiian pizza thin crust and (1) 5 cheese pizza. When we got our food, pizza were already cold (had to ask our server if they could heat up our pizzas) and steaks were WELL DONE and hard! Manager offered to replace our steaks but we were starving as it was already 8:45PM so he gave us 20% off and was apologetic.
My husband and I had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen at this location. Our waiter, Tyler, was very professional, pleasant and helpful in suggestions as to what to order off the menu. He also checked in with us occasionally to see if we needed anything, which we appreciated. I had the grilled veggie sandwich and the super spinach + quinoa salad - all of which was delicious. My husband enjoyed his meal of chicken tequila fettuccine (though it could have more chicken in it). We will definitely be dining there again to try other items on the menu.
Overall, food quality was good and service was great, but the prices were higher than expected for comparable restaurants. We didn't have to wait for a table and the food was prepared in a relatively short period of time, our server was prompt and attentive. They do have VEGAN options here for pizza, the server was great about checking with the cook to clarify the ingredients in the various crusts and other menu items. We'll definitely be returning, I'd recommend this place for anyone who loves gourmet and/or customizable pizza!
We stopped there just to have a little conversation and have glass of wine. They brought their famous bread with olive oil. Plates that they brought were still warm from dishwasher but they were dirty. I showed it to the manager and she started to show me her attitude. I would assume that that manager didn't have very good morning like I did. Other than that it's great place to have a dinner, lunch, or breakfast.

This place is always busy during prime dinner hours. My most recent visit, I sat at the bar. The staff is very friendly and provide great service. We were able to sit there and watch the staff prepare food. I noticed they were not wearing gloves while handling the pizza and appetizers. I watched them even further and they were touching various different things and didn't wash or wipe their hands before handling the food again. That might have left me a little disgusted while eating my salad and pizza.
Love this place, I've ordered take and dined in on many occasions and I love the service. The staff is always to accommodate us and when they're behind they offer us drinks (water). I've dined at CPKs from the East Coast to here and I'd say by far this is one of my favorite places. Besides being right by the movies, Barnes and Nobles, Nordstrom and other shopping venues, it's perfectly situated right off the 15 for easy access. Making this a great place to meet friends and family.
Went there afterwork with a coworker and everything was overall okay. We ended up waiting a long time after we were done with our meal for the bill, couldn't locate our waiter but my coworker and I didn't have anywhere to be so it was okay.

This place has really gone down hill. Checked in for dinner and hostes told us 25 min wait. Bathroom was a train wreck, and roof was leaking in multiple places. After 45 minutes of waiting, hostes notified us that they just sat multiple call ahead parties, and our wait would now be an additional 30-45 min. All this was on our son's birthday. We ended up having his birthday dinner at Chick-fil-a.

Stopped in at the Carmel Mountain location for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the Buffalo Cauliflower Bites, they were delicious and the way they serve the celery is perfect. I had the chicken club and it was good too! Service was a little slacking for as many staff as they had, we barely saw our server and when we needed some additional sauce for the other dish we had, no server to be had. That would have got the 5th star!
The food was really good. Portion on the lighter side. I ordered the chicken tequila fettuccini. Felt like they could have given more. The jambalaya had a lot more on their plate. Maybe its because two people in our group ordered the fettuccini. The food was great though. No complaints about that. Our server was great too. Big party in our group and we were seated outside. Only thing I have a quarrel about is the portion size.
Expensive for what you get compared to the quality of the food and atmosphere. It was lunch time and I didn't see a busser. The servers were busy and we not on top of cleaning the tables and walkways to what you would expect walking in the restaurant. Their bathroom was dirty and if there was a manager on site, I didn't see him or her. The food was fine, but just expensive for $50 getting 1 pizza and 1 salad with tax and tip.
The reason for 2 stars is false advertising and service. VA website noted free entree for dine in or takeout on Vets day but they said dine in only when I arrived. The welcome reception said order for take out at the bar, the bar said no take out, bad communication by management. 11/15/22 - thank you for reaching out, I used the link you sent me to give detailed comments.

Food was pretty good. You know what you're getting when you go there. The WORST customer service. We went on a weekday afternoon. The place was dead. The staff does a great job of hiding out behind the counter and socializing. We were obviously done eating, some of our party left, waited a half hour for someone to come by, finally I got up and went to the takeout counter to see if we could pay out bill and get out of there.
We frequent this establishment quite often about a year ago, somewhere in the year, the management changed and the place is on our death list. We took our son here this Tuesday (4/11) for his birthday. The tables are sticky, the floor are sticky, the plates are spotted. The waitress we had did an amazing job though. The food didn't taste the same and the hostess had a face that looked like we made her mad by showing up.
Came for lunch, got there a little earlier, staff was ready to seat me and cleaned the booth as I watched. Met a friend and we had a great lunch from the special menu, me Tomato Bisque with a Turkey Club sandwich and my friend the same with a salad, both so good and fresh! It was a Birthday celebration (me!!) so a great little butter cake with ice cream, it was so yummy! A fabulous place with good food and great staff.
The service was fairly quick but I didn't like the food just as much. The California veggie pizza was not quiet baked and the veggies seemed raw. Also had a cauliflower appetizer which had way too much soy sauce that that's the only thing you could taste. This was my first experience dining in with CPK so it could just be that particular location or day but I've heard good things about the restaurant in general.

California Pizza kitchen is one our family favorites chain restaurants. The location that was closest to our home was closed unfortunately, so while still staying in San Diego we had to be making a trip to Carmel Mountain. Kids love pizza and wife loves salads and I always order my favorite Jambalaya Fetucini. I hope the corporate management won't be closing more locations.
Food here is generally very good. We have eaten spicy chipotle pizza a number of times. Last week the pizza we received was very soggy. My biggest complaint is the dirty toilet. During my visit on 8/26 I found the toilets were very smelly. I don't except toilet of good restaurant to be like this.

The restaurant is freezing. I have no idea why when it's 55 degrees outside they have the air conditioning running. Nando is a fantastic server, very attentive and quick to handle requests. Hostesses were organized and very pleasant. Food was solid. We had Thai crunch salad and chicken tequila fettuccine along with an appetizer and glass of wine. Wine prices are up markedly but this is a good value restaurant and much improved service since our last visit.
It's decent food for a kid's outing but nothing special, it might be the location or overall CPK, junior staff, under the tables need some oversight, the pizzas are best bets, but adjust your expectations.

Food was good but they really need to do a better job of listening when someone is ordering. My friend is vegan and asked to have her vegetarian pizza and salad prepared with no cheese. When her order came out, both had cheese on them. They did prepare replacements and the manager apologized. But it should not have happened at all.
This is because my friend hyped this place a lot. She told me a lot about the Jambalaya Linguini and I have been looking forward to trying it. Have been there a couple of times and even called to see if they have it available. But the answer is always no. The day it's finally available I would absolutely change my review.
The pizza tasted good, but took quite a while to arrive and wasn't very warm when it did. It wasn't busy either, so not sure what was going on. Thankfully pizza is one of those foods that, imo, is good at anything above room temperature.

I don't even live close to this location, but I frequent this CPK for the food and service. While you can totally bring the family here, I've always enjoyed it with good friends and adult beverages. The appetizers are shareable and the wine list is extensive.

Apparently they close at 7:30 pm on Saturday nights. I called earlier in the day to make a reservation for 7:45pm. They said they don't take reservations and that it was first come first serve. I show up at 7:45 pm and they tell me they are

Dinner prices expensive. 14.95$ for a veggie sandwich. The high price tag takes out the joy of actually enjoying a good meal. That was all I could think about the whole time I was there. It was supposed to be a 'full' sandwich, but only 6
HORRIBLE take out customer service. So unorganized. My order has been canceled without telling me 4 different times. Nobody available to speak with in the phone. Order lost two visits now. Unable to verify who places the order even though
We went to this site to support a school fundraiser. We arrived at 4:50 pm but needed to wait even though the restaurant was two-thirds empty. We were seated at 5:15. I asked the server if we could still order our wine at happy hour price
The food is consistently good. Love their BBQ chicken salad! Pizza is always fresh and crust is crispy and light. Only down side is that they keep the restaurant on the cooler side so if you are a cold person take a jacket or eat outside!

Always busy, always good, always fun! Great, fast, friendly service. Love the taste extravaganza this place offers. I love the Cobb Salad. I can't eat pizza as I'm gluten free, but there are a few really tasty GF items on the menu.
Came here during peak lunch hours and they were noticeably understaffed. 2 people in the kitchen and maybe 4 FOH staff. However, service was great and the food was too. Shout out to Nando for being a patient and attentive waiter.
Kyce was such an amazing server. The food was awesome and we had a nice time dining in. Everything was clean and comfortable, including the bathrooms.

Food wasn't bad, it was as you expect from a chain restaurant. The wait staff was less than desirable and tables took a long time to be cleaned leading to a wait to be seated and looking at dirty dishes/tables as you eat.
I haven't been here in ages. I had the banh mi bowl and appreciate the new diverse options on the menu including gluten free. they also have a deal where they'll give you any pizza to go for $5 after you dine in right now.
Their mimosa flights were delicious! Also we like their lunch duo meals with a lunch size pizza and small side salad.

The restaurant was FREEZING our server was nice but some of his team members were rude and inconsiderate. Why seat us with NO PLACE SETTINGS and have this dude getting other tables ready that are EMPTY?!?!?!?!
Order the family meal for 4. It was a good size for us. Kids ate the pizza and pasta all up. No complaints from them. Very good deal for 45 dollars. Even comes with a salad. Staff was very friendly and fast.
Where is my server??? Short of staff is understandable but it’s bummer to serve cold food and wait for credit card back to table for 20 minutes. Kids menu was awful, no sauce mac and cheese. Oh no cheese!!!
I used to work at a cpk about ten years ago and came back for the memories. The Thai crunch salad was just as good as I remember! And my Sicilian pizza was great too. Will definitely be back, thanks guys
Ordered through Uber eats. Got the buffalo cauliflower and there’s only five pieces?! That’s like half the normal order. Absolutely not ok to charge the same price but give half the amount

Food is pretty good - service not so much. We got our "appetizer" bread after we got our pizza. I also went to pick up - lady told me she'll let me know when it's ready, and then she never did.
The food was great as always! A little slow on the service part. Our server Nick needs to be friendlier and learn how to greet his customers, not just come over drops off menus, then left!
Awful, awful, awful! I will never visit another CPK ever. The food is terrible. I do not understand why this place is so busy. It is not good! Server we had was great and super helpful.
The place was busy. The food was most excellent. The server was friendly and appeared to be efficient. But it took an excessive amount of time for the food to arrive at our table.
Service was good, food was good but the restaurant didn't feel very clean. The men's bathroom smelled of sewer. My son couldn't even use it it was so bad.
California Pizza Kitchen is one of my favorite places. They have great food. The avocado egg rolls are delicious! And the chicken piccata is the bomb.
Food is good but service is slow and takes a while to get seated. Service can be much better at this place in Carmel mountain

This has been our go to place for late plans. The staff is great. Being vegetarians we love the spicy chipotle pizza and buffalo cauliflower !!
Worst pizza ever!!! burnt, black oil drippings on top, cheese pizza tasted like cheese cracker. Extremely disappointing!
Bbq chicken pizza is awesome. Every wood fired pizza rocks. Any place that has Octoberfest on tap is #1 in my book.
Good , decent experience . Quality of food is good , service is better but price is decent . OVERALL Nice exp.
Ordered the fish tacos for 17.99. The fish in the taco is the size of a finger. See photo. Very dissatisfied.
I must say, their pizza is really delicious! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a yummy pizza.
great food but so busy service was lacking a bit
