"Had a great time at Carmines"
Food was good. We didn't realize the plates were family sized portions so we did over order. We were seated next to the window at the front of the restaurant, and every time someone opened the door (which was every few minutes) it made a very loud and long creaking sound so that took away from us enjoying the experience. It was my worst Italian food experience. As you can see from the picture the pasta was floating in the whole watery sauce. Actually it was not sauce it was mostly vegetable juice. If I want to be honest the only good food could be something other than this pasta or the Veal Parm sandwich that I ordered More
The food at Carmine's is amazing. It's a family-style restaurant that cares about what they serve their customers and it shows. I have been at the one in NYC and the one in DC and they are both 5-star to me. If you like Italian food this is the place for you. More
We went here for a Christmas Girls Night Out and we had the absolute best time! Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. We asked him for lots of recommendations and he absolutely delivered with some fantastic dishes! I am gluten free so
Had a great time at Carmines. We had Darryl as our server and he was amazing. He was very attentive, got the bread and drinks quickly, and made recommendations. The only 4 I gave was the atmosphere as the restaurant used to have a demeanor
Very crowded, you’ll usually need a reservation. The food is very good. There are different seafood dishes on the menu and we ordered the mussels appetizer and the calamari linguini. The food isn’t salty which is a deal breaker for me. The
I recently held our company’s holiday party here and the experience was amazing! The restaurant was very busy with customers, however the servers we had dedicated to us provided 5 star quality hospitality and made us feel like we were the
I've wanted to visit Carmine's forever. Finally got it done. It has an extremely beautiful interior which is very appealing. I chose a high table at happy hour because I was told the food portions were HUGE, but more manageable. I ordered
We never heard about Carmine’s so we decided on a whim to visit the restaurant. Talk about lucky! The idea of the menu is that you share the meals with the people at your table. Normally we’re not really into that but sure: why not for a
5-Stars across the board. It was pretty easy to find parking. The two hosts were very pleasant and welcoming. We got a table rather quickly. The restaurant had a wonderful Italian aroma. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions
I went here with some friends for a lunch, and we had a really good meal! I recommend going for lunch in the early afternoon, because the restaurant atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. However, I’m sure going for dinner would be just fine,
We had a large group including some unruly small children. Our primary server and the rest of the staff handled our group beautifully. We had the calamari and salad as starters. For main dishes we had the penne alla vodka, spaghetti and
My husband my best friend and myself are spending a week in Washington DC and this particular night we were in the mood for some pasta and happened on Carmine's Italian restaurant. What a treat! It couldn't have been more authentic even
Great Family Style Italian Restaurant. Be prepared to eat with there large portions. One meal or salad can easily freed two adults. Staff was wonderful and quick to serve. Large selection of food and beverages. More
We visited this restaurant while in DC. All the food we got was served in large amount . The Cesar salad can be shared for about 4 people The chicken parm same. Literally can feed 4-6 people
Not sure if we just had bad luck and get assigned with a poorly trained server or the restaurant is just too busy and can’t scale with the high traffic of customers.
Excellent family style Italian meals. Old school hospitality and service. Great food and nice selection of drinks. DC outpost of NYC classic.
Food was good. Service was on the slow side. We received our appetizers before we got our drinks and server was not very attentive. More
The best Italian restaurant in DC: 5 stars for food, service and atmosphere (including music) The size of portions is AMAZING More
