I attended Cawthra Park from 1995-2000... so it's been a while. I auditioned for and got into the Dance program which, overall, was an amazing experience. I learned a great deal about dance theory, kinesiology and had wonderful exposure to many different dance styles. In those days we didn't have YouTube so having guest dancers or going to performance art theatres was really the only exposure we had to this world. I still use the knowledge and skills I learned in the regional arts program to this day. As far as other departments were concerned most teachers were amazing but there were also some duds, as with any school. Overall, if you have an opportunity to attend an arts high school, take it. It truly enriches your life. I don't ever regret the 1.5 hour public bus rides across the city (each way) to get to and from school. It was all worth it.
I was a music student at Cawthra and have since completed my BSc and MSc. Everything about my school experience here was amazing except the music program itself. Almost 10yrs later Cawthra has ruined what used to be a passion for me. I had nightmares that I was still in the music program all summer after graduating, and playing has stressed me out ever since. Performance tests were very public - an absolute invasion of confidentiality/privacy. The music teachers were absolutely terrible for choosing favourites and then not providing opportunities to the other students (I wasn't interested, but multiple other peers of mine would have loved a chance).
I went here as an Art Major back in the day. My life changed from a 30% in 9th-grade math to graduating with honors in economics and now working on my post grad. At Cawthra, being cool isn't about getting bad grades or picking fights; instead, you have a student body that encourages you to grow as long as you're willing to reach out! P.S. Most, if not all, students that have ranked this school poorly are those who lack academic motivation, social discipline, and general respect for the amazing teachers and staff.
Disgusting place. Avoid at all costs. Staff has no concern for student safety. From guns, to racism, to male on female assault/group assaults.. extremely low caliber institution. They allow for adult strangers to enter the building and accost minors. Lockdowns, fires, and other dangerous incidents go unreported to parents and community. The list of atrocities are endless. Save yourself and your family the humiliation of participating in this dumpster fire; offensively referred to as a school.

Some of the best years of my life were spent here. As a member of the regional arts program, your friends were your competition and drove each other to get better every day. It wasn't 'fame'..it was better. I started is instrumental music, but got to get involved in drama, vocal music, musical theatre....but STILL got a solid enough education to eventually get university education in Aerospace Engineering.
An exceptional school for the arts and academics. A great school atmosphere with talented students students from all programs even the local students. Meme pages operated by some of the students rank amongst the top in The Country. Great teachers but it’s hit or miss when it comes to English.
My daughter went there. 7/10 @MuhammadUmer, please ask my daughter directly. Also bring me lots of dowry, dunhill flavour and Amy Delux shisha regardless of her final decision. Much wow!
Alexandria Moyles is a racist teacher. Why did she randomly leave Applewood Heights Secondary School with no valid reason?
