Summary review for Peckham branch (followed by updates and details on notable visits): An invaluable store for trading and buying movies, games, consoles, cameras, phones etc. This branch is one of the smaller ones with one floor but still has diverse categories of products that is a joy to browse through. Always feels lively with game or movie soundtracks playing. Staff are mostly always friendly. I especially like that all electronics have 2 year warranty even though they are second hand. I had one opportunity to test their warranty and they honoured it by giving me vouchers of equal value. One piece of important advice to customers is always check whatever you are buying has all of the expected components included (do your homework before going to the store) as I have experienced a couple of occasions where they were selling a product with missing components. Otherwise CEX rocks as they have always been for the 29 years I have been a customer since they were founded in their first store in Rathbone Place, London! Update 13th September 2021 I want to give a shout out to Darren, one the store managers for arranging a solution for me to purchase a VR headset without going to other branches. He made great effort for me as he knows I was going through some disappointments at CEX in trying to buy a PSVR headset that they were supposed to have reserved for me. I am happy to say his efforts paid off. This time, I want to re-iterate AGAIN to all CEX customers to make sure you check whatever you are buying has all the components expected. Because again, the PSVR headset I purchased on this day was short of two HDMI cables which should be included in the base unboxed product. CEX are great in customer service though and added two CEX brand hdmi cables. I have been a CEX customer since most of the youthful staff were born! CEX still rocks as a trade store and I highly recommend them. Update 27 Aug 2021 Some advise: I wholeheartely recommend this store but when you buy any electronics from CEX, always check that all components are accounted for and perhaps even take a picture. I advise you this because this store was selling me a Playstation VR headset that was missing two very important components (the face cover and one HDMI cable). I ALWAYS ask to see the contents before buying, hence spotted these missing components and telling them. Then they tried to find the components without success so, they did not sell it to me which is the right thing of course. The reps were very friendly and apologetic. But I am a little disappointed that they were selling me am incomplete product so I will sadly knock off one star for that, (down from 5 to 4). But all my previous experiences including them honouring their warranty have been great. See below for my other experiences. But know what contents you should be getting before buying so you can check throroughly. Update: 24 Aug 2021 For the first time, I had an opportunity to test these guys on their 2 year warranty promise. 8 months after purchasing a PSVR headset, it developed a problem. I took the headset to the store. The friendly staff, took in my headset and told me to come back in about 45 minutes as they will test the headset. I returned and they told me they weren't able to replicate the fault I described. So I asked them to please test it again by moving around. They gladly did so, and did find the problem I described. Without any problem, they issued vouchers for the headset at the current price they sell it for. It was actually less than what I originally paid for because their policy is first six months, you get refund for original price. After six months, its refunded for the price it currently sells at (which could be higher or lower!). Fantastic service from these guys.

I ordered and paid for an item online and as I needed the camera lens for the coming weekend, I opted for it to be kept in store and went to pick it up. Despite the fact that I arrived while they were closing, the staff made the time to locate my purchase and gave me the time I needed to fit it to my camera and make sure I was happy with it. The lens was well wrapped up and put in a crossbody carrier bag. I found the staff both friendly and knowledgeable about the products which they sold which is not always the case with tech shops. I was impressed at how they continued to serve me while they continued to close the shop and needless to say I was out of the store within 5 minutes with my purchase. Had it been anywhere else, they would have told me to go back the next day. While there are many CeX stores around the UK, I I know that they do vary when it comes to customer service. So far, I have found this store and the Camden store to be customer service motivated and if available, would prefer to pick up from them than any other store. Needless to say, I will be going back to the store again and hope that my first experience was typical rather than a one off fluke. As I will very likely use this store again. I will simply amend my review accordingly when the time comes If my review is unchanged from this initial review then i would definitely recommend to anybody that needs that extra help before purchase and help to pick the item that best suits their needs.

I Had A Brand New Iphone SE Rose Gold 32GB. I Didnt Have The Box But You Could See And Browse That It Was Brand New. I Had It For 2 Months And Decided I Didnt Like Iphones So Wanted To Trade It In For An Android. I Went Into CEX Peckham Rye And The Lady Who Served Me Had Said She New Nothing About Iphones But Took A Look At It To See It Was Working And In Good Shape, She Said It Was In Good Shape And Would Be Graded At A B Which I Was Happy With, She Then Said She Had To Swap The Sim To See If Another One Would Work, When Swapping The Sim She Had Put It In Upside Down And Shoved It In, She Then Got The Sim Trapped In The Phone :/ She Had Told Me It Was Broken And Was Grading It A C, Bearing In Mind I Brang It In At A Grade A-B, She Then Gave Me A Phone That Broke On Me Within 2 Weeks. The Phone Must Have Had Faulty Wires Because The Screen Kept Going White. I Had No Reciept And Tried To Return It And I Pretty Much Got Told They Couldnt Help Me. I Was Fuming As I Was Pregnant At The Time And Needed A Phone To Be Contacted On. (One That Worked) So I Lost A £300 Phone, Got Given A £60 Broken Phone And Got No Help. Would Never Recommend This Store To A Friend. Absolutely Disgusted With The Customer Service.

Definitely not the best experience ever at CeX. Has been asked to show a proof of address to be able to sell my iPhone SE and iPad Mini 2 even if I was already registered on their system. Also I'm not convinced about the rating given to my iPhone which was rated as a C grade even if identical to some B ones. I politely asked why and the staff told me that the new management rates the devices in a different way and with more attention than before. Fair enough, but they should change the rating on the devices already for sales, sold as A or B with some visible scratches and dents. The new rating may apply only on the new arrivals. Who knows! They still paying cash, when other branches already asking you to get paid straight on your bank account which is much safer. Unhelpful (and probably unhappy) staff, I personally wouldn't recommend this branch

Horrible customer service , one hours still before the closing time , the guy at the desk did not want to buy back my DVDs telling me that he did not have enough time to do it also coz it was Sunday and the shop by the way was empty .... moreover before attempting peckam branch I have tried the one in Walworth road which is closer to my house without any positive results asking me to go and try in peckam one .... just unbelievable.... a little reminder to the staff of exc : you are not working for free so do your job....

Great selection of products! I have been on the lookout for some specific DVDs for a while now and after checking stock online I was able to travel to Peckham CEX to pick them up. All were in really good condition and it was good to chat to the knowledgeable staff. There were plenty of people on duty serving customers. Customer service was excellent and the shop clean and tidy. Overall I would recommend this store if you're on the lookout for a bargain film, TV DVD or Blu-ray, game and anything in-between.

Whilst trading in a item in this shop I was quoted a price at the beginning of the transaction, upon agreeing the price and left my item to be tested for a couple of hours, returned only to be told that the sales assistant made a mistake on the price, whilst talking to the manager, he blamed me for mishearing on the initial quote whilst there was other sales assistance next to him who heard the original quote price and corroborated it. Couldnt recommend this shop any less if it were possible.

Incompetent brain dead staff. Who hired these people? I traveled all the way from Sidcup to find that one of these morons listed a Platinum PS1 game as a Black Label version. How can anyone with any sort of interest or knowledge in video games not know the difference between platinum and black label releases? I tried explaining the difference to the 'staff' but it was like talking to a carrot, he was so stoned. Utter waste of time.

The amount they offered me for my ps4 games was terrible. Might as well keep your old games or sell them on local selling sights. Also I had noticed that some of the items I had seen elsewhere were similar price new. Samsung j3 2016 for example they were selling for 119.99 at the time. At three movile it was the same price for a new phone. Vodafone's and o2 sold it for 99.99 and this way it comes with all the accessories.

1 star is too much for these thiefs. Returned item 2 dayz after buying and they dont refund only do vouchers first and last time i buy from them i dont recommend you buy from them. Cex are a joke. How can u not issue a refund and just voucher now i stuck with some useless voucher. If anyone wants to buy it off me let me know by leaving a 1 star i sell this stupid voucher. Love CeX, great selection of games (across all console platforms, and PC, also great DVD/BluRay Movie and Box Set Range The Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to advise and assist. Also a great range of refurbed and reconditioned consoles, laptops, smartphones, tablets and monitors, plus a wide selection of accessories to choose from!! Can't say anything negative about CeX!!

I bought a laptop to and I was told on the day the battery will stay up for eight hours but it happen it wasn't so took it back to get a refund or for them to sought a new battery the supervisor KC was very helpful and send an email to the manager to get a new battery rather than refund still waiting for the manager to get back to me.

When a customer is scammed in an online order and wants to return the order via local store , all the customer gets is absolutely no help Never ever going to buy anything from cex ever again. Might as well pay slightly more to other retailers for smooth service!

It's fine just for buying games/DVDs or trading in basic stuff, but I've had nothing but hassle trying to trade in a console (met with "I don't really know Xbox so I can't test it properly" or asking for advice. Couple of the staff are really great though!

they pay you alot less than your products worth. but its quick and easy. they only played me 220 for a brand new Samsung galaxy s9 with no damage done to it and it was fully functioning. just make sure you bring photographic id.

Absolute waste of time. I always checked if the item is in stock on their website before going. On 2 occasions they have the games case on display but they don’t have the game in stock. Never going there again.
